Live from New York, it's Saturday night! With new writers, new cast members, an election going on, and some major shake-ups surrounding the exits of Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah,...I love Vanderpump Rules, but there are just some plot points that don’t really add up to me. Maybe that’s just because I’m a naive purist who’s looking for way too much reality in my reality TV shows. I really do need to accept that a lot of what we get to see is not completely factual, but until then, I still have so many unanswered questions about Vanderpump Rules.
There is just so much going on with this show that drifts away from the show’s initial premise. To be honest, most of it has to deal with these restaurant workers having the funds for their shenanigans and/or the weird web of romance and friendship that everyone seems to be way too accepting of.

I know that I should just enjoy my beloved show without thinking too much about it, but I cannot help myself. It’s like not wanting to know what’s in a hot dog, doing that Google search, and then continuing going for that snack option whenever possible.

Out of all the former Real Housewives of Orange County cast members, I never ever expected Lydia McLaughlin to make a return, but it is being reported that she is. She is one of the few former Housewives that hasn’t been fame whoring to stay relevant so I just never thought she would to return. Plus, she actually quit (instead of being fired) because it wasn’t the right fit for her. So it’s pretty shocking that she’s about to come back.
No offense to everyone else in the cast, but Lydia just always seemed like she was way too good of a person to be on this show. There is not a reason in the world to dislike Lydia, but I just felt like she was too nice to be on RHOC. She never really got into it with the other women and the only remotely scandalous thing about her was her pot-loving mom- whom we all loved.

Who is Lydia friends with in this cast? I can picture her hanging with Meghan Edmonds (the other nice one from this series), but Meghan won’t be returning for next season. This just seems so random and I bet that her story line will have something to do with her being caught in the middle of the feud between Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador against Vicki Gunvalson and Kelly Dodd (if she returns).

When she quit the show, Lydia told Us Weekly (whose sources are confirming her return), “It’s bittersweet. I compare it to breaking up with a boyfriend you know you’re not going to end up with — it’s hard, but overall you know you’re doing the right thing.”
I feel so bad hating on the decision of such a sweet lady, but she just seems like an innocent goldfish in a tank full of (bitter and Botoxed) sharks. It just doesn’t make any sense. Maybe she has something to promote. Maybe she’s just bored. Maybe she needs to money. I have no idea what’s actually going on, but I definitely didn’t see this one coming.
Lydia hasn’t officially confirmed the return, but the reports do seem to be true. On one hand, it will be refreshing to see a genuine person on this show. On the other hand, who asked for this?! I hope I’m not bored, but at least if that’s the case, I’ll be able to get up for snack breaks during her scenes. Let’s hope for a more fiery Lydia than we got in the past… or at the very least, let’s hope that all of her scenes involve her mother.

I’m confused by why it was a charity basketball game and not a game of touch football, but it’s philanthropy, so I’m not going to question it further. Even though the Falcons lost, they at had a lot of hometown support from the RHOA ladies.

Brielle and boyfriend Michael Kopech, a White Sox pitching prospect, recently visited the windy city – and Brielle fell in love! With Chicago, that is. She posted the above pic, captioning it “obsessed with you and chicago.” So, what’s the next natural step? Requesting a Real Housewives of her very own!

During her trip, Brielle texted Andy Cohen and said, “Ohmigosh, let’s do a ‘Real Housewives of Chicago. I’ll be the Kim, and all we have to do is find a Sheree[Whitfield] and NeNe [Leakes].”
Brielle is, in fact, already helping Bravo out by scoping out the casting situation. While visiting the city, Brielle says, “I met Tim Anderson’s wife Bria and I really love her, and like, she’s the sweetest person ever, so I’m like, ‘Let’s get her on board.” Tim Anderson currently plays shortstop for the White Sox.
After attending SoxFest, Brielle told the Chicago Tribune that Chicago is “like a cleaner New York. It’s less busy, and the people are so much nicer.” The Chicago Tribune then shuttered its windows, closed its doors, and powered down its Macbooks. Because it couldn’t believe it was being forced to print this story. (I tease, I tease!)

Brielle and Kopech plan to move to Chicago if he is picked up by the White Sox, which will naturally remove Brielle from the everyday storylines of her mother’s juggernaut, Don’t Be Tardy. But will Bravo bite on a new Housewives city just because Brielle is scouting it out for them?
“A Bravo representative did not return a Tribune request for comment,” reports the Tribune. Ah, well. A girl can dream. And while the hubris on this 19-year old is a bit questionable, I have to admit I am 100 percent down for a Real Housewives Midwest spinoff. It’s long overdue!

It so hard to know what to believe when it comes to Tamra Judge’s estranged relationship with her daughter Sidney Barney. For everyone who watches Real Housewives of Orange County, it’s possible to go for the narrative that has Tamra’s ex husband Simon Barney controlling Sidney’s opinions about Tamra. Then there are these other accusations that Tamra is actually a “monster mom.” Either way, the result is the same: Tamra hasn’t seen her daughter in years and she considers herself to be an “erased mom” who has participated in a documentary about erased family members.
I have to admit that I feel really awkward writing this one. This is obviously a very sensitive topic for everyone involved and it’s just legitimately tough to know what’s actually true as a total outsider who’s attempting to observe. Is Tamra’s participation in this documentary a last ditch effort to appeal to Sidney? Or is this just making their private family struggle way more public than it needs to be?

Tamra posted a promotional image for the Erasing Family documentary on her Instagram page. Tamra explained, “This documentary has the goal of reaching young people and encouraging them to reunite with erased family members, it will be screened at universities , schools and streaming platforms.” I obviously don’t know the actual specifics of Tamra’s (lack of) relationship with Sidney, but it’s just very hard to make sense of the whole situation. If Sidney won’t even talk to Tamra, then why would she “come to her senses” after Tamra has talked about Sidney on RHOC and in this documentary?
For all I know, Tamra just doesn’t know what else to do, but Sidney has expressed how much she can’t stand Tamra bringing their private business into the public eye, so this doesn’t seem like it would actually help bring them together.
Back in 2015, Sidney wrote a Facebook post (that got deleted) slamming Tamra’s mothering abilities. She said that Tamra is “not a mother to me.” She also said, “When I told my mother that I didn’t want to live with her anymore I asked only a few things from her. For the past two years I’ve been asking her to stop treating me badly, to stop doing embarrassing and talking about me on the show, and to not use my siblings and I as storylines,”
Sidney also wrote, “If she really wanted me back in her life she would have taken responsibility and changed two years ago when I told the first time what was causing our relationship to suffer. Obviously, I am just another storyline that feeds her fame and her wallet.”
Tamra couldn’t believe that Sidney posted this rant and even responded to a fan’s inquiry on Twitter by saying, “I can guarantee she did not write it. I think we all know who did” obviously implying that Simon wrote it.
Along with the post about the documentary, Tamra also wrote, “If you’ve been erased from your child’s life I encourage you to join us to hear others speak of alienation and reunited families. You’re not alone and there is hope. Tickets are 150.00 until Feb 10 space is limited.#ERASEDMOM”
If Tamra just took part in this documentary to reach out to Sidney, then why put the hash tag? It’s just hard to draw the line between “raising awareness” about an issue and promoting for entertainment purposes, especially when it comes to anyone involved with reality TV. A lot of this just doesn’t seem to add up though since Tamra has three children and two of them seem to be on good terms with her. As curious as I am about what is going on, it might just be best for the Barney family to keep this private.

She is really in the thick of it going against the self-proclaimed “Frick and Frack” duo Phaedra Parks and Porsha Williams. Not only are these two arguing with Kandi whenever possible, but they’re really pushing the Kandi and Shamea Morton lesbian affair rumors. As scandalous as that all is, the saddest part of this season is seeing how far Kandi and Phaedra have come from their former best friendship. Kandi even thinks their relationship is worse thanks to the show.
I feel like Kandi is going to have a lot to address whenever they film the RHOA reunion this year. She is somehow involved in just about every story line this year minus the beyond annoying battle between Chateau Sheree and Moore Manor. So of course, Kandi has a lot to say about the drama so far this season.

Kandi took part in an interview with Access Hollywood to share her thoughts on all of the RHOA craziness. Kandi jumped right into it and declared, “It’s just way too much going on. We are all just at each other’s throats. at this point. Especially I guess, myself, and Porsha, and Phaedra. It’s like we are just not on the same page this year.” Yeah, that’s the understatement of the year.
I don’t feel like Porsha was anything other than filler on the show to Kandi, so it doesn’t really bother me whether these two get along or not, but the Phaedra and Kandi friendship demise is all sorts of sad. The only good thing about it is that I’m curious about everything Phaedra is supposedly hiding, but I don’t know if Kandi will really spill all the tea there.

Kandi explained how their friendship started to crumble when Apollo Nida got into legal trouble. Kandi said, “I really truly loved her like a really close friend. Things started changing when her husband got into trouble. And I guess it was because we were couples that hung out together. And so people say that when you start having troubles in your marriage that you start losing friends for whatever reason.” Also, Kandi’s husband Todd Tucker and Apollo are boys which obviously rubbed Phaedra the wrong way.
Kandi added, “Maybe we would have handled it better had we not been dealing with it in front of the world, but I think being on the show has made things get worse and worse and worse. So every year, things have gotten worse between us.” But then again, you wouldn’t have even been friends if you weren’t on the show, so it’s not like RHOA ruined an already existing relationship.
Still, it really did seem like Phaedra and Kandi did have a genuine relationship outside of the show, so it’s super sad that they aren’t close anymore. It must have felt all sorts of awkward watching your former BFF spread rumors that you are a secret lesbian in a conversation with her new BFF Porsha. Kandi admitted,”I laughed. It really shocked me for one. And then on the other hand, I’m like that’s her best friend. I can’t believe she kind of threw her best friend under the bus. It was a mess to me. I just feel like that just shows how crazy things have gotten between us. It’s stupid.”
Instead of making Kandi look deceitful, it was actually made Phaedra look catty as hell and made Porsha seem like the worst “best friend” that Shamea could ever have. It definitely wasn’t the best PR move for either of them.
I also saw that preview with wannabe RHOA cast member Marlo Hampton asking Kandi if she’s a lesbian and inserting herself in the drama, of course. Did Kandi think the question was out of line? She explained, “I mean on our show, you can ask anybody anything. She was putting them on blast for whispering behind my back basically.” Yeah, I doubt that Marlo of all people was just trying to bring the truth to the surface or anything even remotely noble. I’m sure she was just looking for some guaranteed camera time.
Kandi shaded the rest of the cast by pointing out, “the thing that made me mad about it is because truth be told a few of the girls at the table have had a moment of time with a girl, or a girl on girl experience. I’ve never made it a secret that I’ve had a moment in the lady pond, you know what I’m saying. So I’ve already told them this before.”
Kandi explained why she found the secret lesbian accusations to be very offensive: “I felt like her saying I was a lesbian waiting to come out of the closet, I felt like she was trying to attack my marriage by trying to say I was not happy with my husband. And that is totally too wrong.”
After so many seasons, Kandi was asked if things have just become too much for her these days. She admitted, “I definitely feel like things have gotten to be a lot.” She also said, “this is my eighth season on the show, so I’m not used to being the one that’s always in drama. That’s not even me.”
Kandi revealed, “Truth be told, this is my last contract year. There have been moments this year where I was like ‘I don’t have time for this. I’m done.’ But then you know, there are some good things about being a part of a show like this.” Well, yeah the exposure is unbeatable. I know she was making money before RHOA, but this show has definitely helped her raise her profile and profit.
Kandi continued, “At the same time, it’s just like I don’t know. I’m doing so many things between my music, my Bedroom Kandi, Raising Ace, it’s not like I have to be there.”
Sure, Kandi has a lot going on outside of RHOA, but we all know that being a Housewife is a major part of business success. So at the end of the day, it seems like it’s worth dealing with some sexual rumors when it means that Kandi gets to make so much money. With that said, I really doubt like Kandi would ever quit and with this much drama and business success associated with Kandi, I really doubt that she’s gonna get fired either… unless she tries to get even more money and asks for too much.

From the very first episode of Summer House, it was obvious that roomies Cristina Gibson and Lindsay Hubbard were going to be arguing throughout the season. It just seemed like a case of spending too much time together since they live together in New York City during the week and in Montauk on the weekends, but thanks to social media it is clear that Cristina and Lindsay are not friends.
Not only that, but they’ve been shading and directly insulting each other on Instagram and Twitter. So in some way they are teasing that there is even more drama to come on the season between them. Not only are these two coming for each other- HARD- but Kyle Cooke has also stepped in to defend Cristina just like he did in the latest episode.

I knew right away that there was going to be a lot of tension between Cristina and Lindsay this season, but I was completely shocked when Lindsay decided to throw her under the bus by saying she lied about her job situation and that she actually got fired. What. The. Fuck. What kind of “friend” puts somebody on blast like that, especially on a reality TV show?
Sure, we saw some issues between the two of them earlier in the episode when Cristina wasn’t down for Lindsay’s interns working from their living room in the city, but apparently there was more to the story. In regard to that intern “conversation” where Lindsay basically just told Cristina that those interns were coming, Cristina tweeted, “Since when is having a calm conversation and asking your roommate to be respectful considered “flipping the f**k out”? #SummerHouse.” Obviously, we don’t get to see everything, but it seems like it’s her world and everyone else is just living in it.
Lindsay continued dragging Cristina when she tweeted, “Do yourself a favor… google and find the article @CristinaGibson wrote on the party. Can’t find it? That’s because she lied about that too.”
