The Most Memorable Real Housewives of Potomac Fights

Real Housewives of Potomac has been on the air for seven seasons and in that time, viewers have seen some pretty epic blowups between the ladies. From a dispute about the rules of etiquette to a full-on physical altercation, the RHOP ladies know how to keep viewers on their toes. In honor of the show returning on November 5, let’s take a look back at some of the most memorable Real Housewives of Potomac fights.

Karen Teaches Gizelle Etiquette

Karen Huger, also known as The Grand Dame of Potomac, doesn’t play around when it comes to etiquette. In Season 1, Karen confronted Gizelle Bryant for sitting at the head of the table at her birthday dinner. The Grand Dame decided Gizelle needed to brush up on her etiquette skills, so she gifted her co-star a guide on how to behave at someone’s birthday party. Iconic.

At first, Gizelle seemed amused by the gift but after she read through some of Karen’s “etiquette suggestions,” she couldn’t help but bring up the birthday girl’s etiquette mishaps. She mentioned the fact that Karen was late to her birthday dinner and the Grand Dame was not having it.

“Thirty minutes late is not three hours late,” Karen said. “It was thirty minutes, which is par for the course if you know anything about etiquette.”

The silly argument set the tone for the series and let viewers know the ladies of Potomac are DIVAS.

Karen & Gizelle Get Interrupted By a Mime

Bravo/YouTube

It isn’t every day a literal mime artist works their way into a Real Housewives fight.

In Season 3, Gizelle and Karen met up for lunch to discuss their issues. Gizelle wanted to make peace with Karen after she spent the whole season throwing shade at her. The argument was funny to begin with, but after a mime showed up at the restaurant, it became downright hilarious.

Karen’s interactions with the mime were so funny. Initially, she ignored him but after he didn’t go away, she became aggravated by the performer. “This is some bullsh*t,” she said to the mime. “Who are you?” The mime’s desire for camera time became so incessant that the women ended up having to flee the table to escape him.

We still can’t believe this happened.

Monique & Candiace Fight

This one was a bummer but we can’t exclude it from this list. In Season 5, Candiace Dillard Bassett and Monique Samuels got into a physical fight and it wasn’t pretty. The fight started as a verbal disagreement between the two ladies but eventually, the dispute turned physical. The other women got involved and tried to pull Monique away from Candiace. As the fight dragged on, producers had to step in and separate the women. Candiace has been open about how the fight affected her and her mental health. At the reunion, she said she couldn’t bring herself to watch the fight when it aired on TV.

“It made me angry. It made me sad. It embarrassed me,” she said. “I’m still f*cked up. I’m still not okay.”

The fight also brought up conversations amongst the women about how black women are often portrayed in media and if it is their responsibility to combat stereotypes.

The fight certainly was not fun to watch but nonetheless, it is one of the most memorable moments in the show’s history.

Mia Throws a Drink at Wendy

During a girls’ trip in Miami, Mia Thornton and Wendy Osefo got in an argument that resulted in wine being thrown. The dispute began after Mia accused Wendy of dropping the ball on a business endeavor with friend, Peter Thomas. Wendy shot back that the only man she needs to be in touch with is her husband, which then led to a bigger argument about how the two women handle their professional lives.

At some point, Mia felt Wendy was making a dig at her husband, so she decided to throw a glass of wine in her co-star’s face. Not cool. The fight was overly dramatic but definitely memorable.

Why We Desperately Want Welcome To Crappie Lake Season 2

Welcome to Crappie Lake was one of those 30-minute reality TV shows that didn’t concentrate on the negative or who was betraying whom. Instead, the show allowed viewers to escape into a humorous world controlled by Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan. The two women showed what giving back could do for a community in need. Frankly, a second season wouldn’t hurt fans’ morale.

Sonja and Luann Are a Pip

Sonja is everything, as I’ve pointed out numerous times. Her willingness to be funny yet genuine is a huge part of what made the first season of Crappie Lake so great. Between her bar/bra hanging in search of a man and her connections to VIPs, she always had something fun up her sleeves. Luann is a great sidekick who no longer needs to totally hog the limelight. The two women have a genuine friendship, which, at times, is hard to find in a Bravo series.

The women searched for catfish and went mudding, tried balls at the testicle festival, and helped celebrate Christmas in July. Without a doubt, Crappie Lake is one of the best shows Bravo has come up with in a long time. I mean, Sonja was humping Luann’s leg within the first minute of Episode 1—there is just no comparison. A second season would only show off more of the women’s quirky personalities, which fans are more than ready for.

Crappie Lake Was a Pleasant Surprise

Crappie Lake was anything but crappy, as having them both on the road again can only be a positive thing for Bravo since so many viewers wanted to see more during Season 1. With the success of the revival of tourism in Benton, Illinois, there are so many more cities that could benefit from Sonja and Luann’s help.

Watching Sonja and Luann in multiple locations would be easy since the formula would most likely always work. Bravo fans loved that Luann and Sonja were able to fit in and adapt to their surrounding without acting like they were above anyone else.

Right now, nothing has been decided regarding the state of Crappie Lake Season 2. However, Luann has hinted, via Page Six, that there were “talks” about another season. The Berlin, CT native noted, “I don’t think they knew what to expect, but Sonja and I both grew up in small towns, so our lives have changed, sure, but we still are small-town girls at heart, so we really fell in love with them.”

I would love to see a second season because, honestly, the first season made me feel so good. It brought joy to me in the evenings and had me laughing as if I were surrounded by close friends. The only downside was realizing that these wonderful RHONY ladies would never be back on their original series—but this is a good replacement.

Possible Welcome to Crappie Lake Season 2 Locations

Season 2 could always explore a town like Kingston, NY, once a prospering manufacturing town on the Hudson. Now, while it is being built up again, there are still extremely broken-down areas that could use some tender loving care. Luann used to own a home close to Kingston, so the network would easily have a heartwarming story there.

The ladies could also look at Hot Springs, NC. This small-town vibe is known for its natural springs and mineral water. The former Real Housewives of New York City stars could explore the Appalachian Trail while becoming acquainted with hunting and other outdoor activities.

A third interesting option could be sending Sonja and Luann to Crystal River, FL, not to be confused with Jason Voorhees’ Camp Crystal Lake. The former has a chance of becoming a fun hot spot. The Bravo stars could lend a hand at the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge since they love animals. They could also check out Crystal River Archaeological State Park, with remains of an early Native American settlement. As you can see, there are plenty of new locations for the ladies to choose from.

Best Below Deck Captain-First Stew Duos

(Photo by: Todd Williamson/Bravo via Getty Images)

Every Captain needs a First Stew, which the Below Deck series has shown. First Stews can make or break a charter season, as they are an invaluable part of a vessel. They take care of the interior department while catering to the charter guests’ every whim. Likewise, this role also caters to the Captain’s needs, such as delivering their meals, washing their uniforms, and tidying up their cabins.

It’s important for a Captain and their First Stew to get along. A sense of trust must also exist between the pair. If trust is missing, a situation similar to that of Captain Sandy Yawn and Hannah Ferrier on Below Deck Mediterranean will unfold. Their constant fighting and Hannah’s eventual firing sucked to watch, no matter whose side you took.

On the flip side, Captain Sandy and Katie Flood hit it off quite well during Season 6, which took place just after Hannah’s firing. However, Katie failed to return for further charter seasons. However, both she and Captain Sandy are set to appear on Winter House Season 3, so if you liked their pairing, there’s that.

Within these two important roles, mistrust has thankfully not been the norm on Bravo‘s hit nautical series. In fact, several great pairings have actually occurred. To highlight this very fact, these are our choices for the best Captain-First Stew Duos (so far) on Below Deck.

Captain Lee Rosbach and Kate Chastain

(Photo by: Charles Sykes/Bravo/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images)

Captain Lee Rosbach and Kate Chastain worked together for six seasons on Below Deck. The pair became so close that they now consider each other family. This year, Kate welcomed her first child to the world. As Captain Lee has departed Below Deck, he has joked that he has the time now to babysit for Kate.

These two have always been close. When Kate met Captain Lee during Season 2, he chided that she looked like a charter guest, not a yachtee. With similar snarky personalities, the duo hit it off quickly, becoming each other’s sounding board whenever conflict arose.

Kate knew exactly how Captain Lee took his Cheerios and how he liked his uniform pants ironed. In turn, Captain Lee trusted Kate’s judgement, often siding with her over crew firings and conflicts. On an episode of Watch What Happens Live, he sweetly expressed, “Kate is always going to have a very, very sweet spot in my heart, because we worked together for a long period of time, and she was my right hand. There was nothing I couldn’t delegate to Kate that I could just pass it off and walk away from it, and know it was gonna get done.”

Kate left the series after Season 7, while Captain Lee departed post Season 10. Therefore, Captain Lee had a few charter seasons with other First Stews, though none of them felt like the home he had found in Kate. Currently, the duo has reunited to film Couch Talk, which is a recap type of show that focuses on all things Bravo. For their past and current friendship, we consider Captain Lee and Kate to be one of the best Captain-First Stew Duos on Below Deck.

Captain Jason Chambers and Aesha Scott

(Photo by: Mark Rogers/Bravo via Getty Images)

Captain Jason Chambers and Aesha Scott have only worked together for two seasons, but already, they are a solid team. To explain, Below Deck Down Under just finished airing its messy Season 2. Working as one, this pair professionally dealt with heavy issues, treating all involved with fairness and grace. These issues ranged from two different sexual assault attempts, to a stew who took to drinking to mask her pain.

On a lighter note, the bantering and sense of familiarity between Captain Jason and Aesha is strong. Throughout their two seasons together, Aesha has helped Captain Jason put in his contacts, dressed him in Budgy Smugglers for the guests to ogle, and wept in his arms when describing her own journey as a sexual assault survivor. In return, Captain Jason surprised Aesha by bringing her boyfriend onboard, which brought Aesha to tears.

Unlike Captain Lee and Kate, Captain Jason and Aesha are still on-air. We therefore hope that this pairing goes on for many more years, as their lighthearted Captain-First Stew pairing on Below Deck is exactly what the viewers need.

Captain Glenn Shephard and Daisy Kelliher

Below Deck Sailing Yacht/Instagram

Captain Glenn Shephard and Daisy Kelliher have starred together on Below Deck Sailing Yacht since Season 2. Like the others, these two have enjoyed friendly banters and exchanges. Unfortunately, the verdict is still out on whether or not they will remain tightly-knit.

You see, in Season 4, Captain Glenn was harder than normal on Daisy. Here, Daisy was involved in a love triangle, which was equal parts distracting and painful on the First Stew. At the reunion, these things were addressed, and while Captain Glenn stressed that Daisy deserved his constructive criticism, he also gushed that “Daisy is amazing” and that he’d “love to work with her again in the future.”

At this, Daisy broke into tears. It’s clear that these two have love for each other. As they were once one of our favorite Captain-First Stew pairings, we truly hope that Season 5 shows Captain Glenn and Daisy’s relationship on the mend.
