Teresa Giudice Would Go To Prison “20 More Times” To Not Lose Her Mom; Still Dials Her Mom’s Number Out Of Habit

Teresa Giudice Would Go To Prison “T

The Real Housewives of New Jersey viewers became very accustomed to a very stoic Teresa Giudice smiling her way through her problems over the years. This season, the fans have seen a more raw side of the OG cast member after the loss of her mother Antonia Gorga. If you didn’t tear up watching the Season 8 premiere, props to you because I could not handle all of the emotion from the Giudice/Gorga family during that opening segment.

Aside from being very open about the loss of her mother, Teresa has actually voiced her anger with currently imprisoned husband Joe Giudice. This is a far cry from the woman who refused to admit her home was in foreclosure, say the words “jail” or “prison,” and loved bragging about how much she was into her “Juicy Joe” even in the midst of very public legal issues.

Teresa explained why she has been so open about her feelings this season during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. Teresa admitted, “I still feel like it’s not real. Like, I was just in London and as soon as I got there, matter of fact — as soon I as landed in L.A. — I dialed my mom’s number. So, I feel like it’s still not real to me.” That is so heartbreaking.

Teresa said, “I lost my mom [and] that got me really upset and angry. Not only that, but Teresa actually uttered the word “prison” instead of saying “camp” or referencing when she was “way.” Teresa confessed,”That’s what made me open up, because I feel like I lost out, those 11 and a half months that I was in prison, you know, [spending time with] my mom.”

She continued, “I could’ve been with my mom those 11 and a half months. I got really angry and I expressed myself, and I guess all those feelings came out, which I have to say was really therapeutic.”

Teresa even said, “I guess it was something that needed to come out … it was one of the worst times in my life. I would go away 20 more times than, you know, not to lose my mom.” That is one of the saddest things I have heard in a long time. Poor Tre.

Peggy Sulahian Dishes On Iceland, Shannon Beador’s Complaining, And Lydia McLaughlin’s Hurt Feelings

Real Housewives Of Orange County’s Peggy Sulahian Dishes On Iceland, Shannon Beador’s Complaining, And Lydia McLaughli

Can you imagine never having gone on a girls’ trip in your life and you decide the vacation that wets your feet is to fly halfway around the world with Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador, Kelly Dodd, Meghan Edmonds, and Lydia McLaughlin? In my mind, that group is who you travel with if you want to cold turkey nix any future lady getaways. Of course, Peggy Sulahian must have known what she was getting into when she joined this motley crew on Real Housewives of Orange County, right? RIGHT??

In her blog for this week’s episode, Peggy describes the most frightening experience to date, and she’s not referring to Shannon’s bed head after a seventeen hour plane ride or even that fermented shark blob that had half her co-stars gagging up a lung. Before delving into the terrifying, Peggy focuses on the positive…and the obvious (read: traveling to Iceland from the OC, generally). She begins, “Our trip to Iceland began with a long plane ride. We were greeted with cold weather and in anticipation of Orange County girls being unprepared for the obvious, Lydia planned a shopping trip to head off any problems. Girls and shopping is a classic combination which can bring out the best in every situation. As such, Vicki and Tamra started to reconnect. You could see they had a bond. They understood each other and hopefully, things will get better.” Why yes, it is a long flight. And no, none of you packed appropriately.

There were glimpses of Vicki/Tamra 24.0 in the works, and Peggy had high hopes for a reconciliation. Oh well on that front! She recalls, “We finally arrived at Hotel Ranga — not been the five star accommodations we might have imagined, but it was still very luxurious. Our suites were decorated differently and each room was detailed with the country of origin’s specifications. The low table in Tamra’s room is where I saw she and Vicki connect again and I think something is brewing. My room was very comfortable, and I enjoyed the peace and quiet it offered,” adding, “That evening, Fridrik offered us Black Death (a specialty drink), fermented shark, and puffin. All I can say is that after I tasted the Black Death, I thought it would be better if I passed on the rest. Thank you to Fridrik for introducing us to these delicacies.” Truth be told, that fermented shark situation has me all kinds of curious.

Addressing Group-Text-Gate (starring Lydia’s Swiss Miss braids), Peggy continues, “The following day, we explored a black sand beach on ATVs. Wow! It was stunning. The waves on the beach were glistening, and I don’t understand why the ladies weren’t enjoying the scenery. It felt as though everyone was a little bored and wanted to get back. I felt bad because I am certain Lydia spent time planning these outings. But that evening when she was inadvertently left out of the group text, I believe she was hurt. Why wouldn’t she feel sad? She planned this trip, and she should have been informed if people were not going to be joining us. I would understand if I was left out, but the one who invited us should be kept in the loop. Though Lydia’s feelings were hurt, Vicki was definitely taking on the role of big sister and counseling her to apologize for her behavior. Vicki stated that it is important that people can learn from her mistakes.”

RELATED:  MEGHAN EDMONDS SAYS PEGGY NEEDS TO STOP PLAYING THE CANCER CARD

Of the amazing glacier hike, Peggy shares, “When we arrived at the glacier for our hike, we were greeted by Olaf, Soffia, and the 18 tons of equipment we had to strap on. Safety first! It was complicated gear. Throughout the hike, I kept hearing Shannon complain, not about anything in particular, just complain. We were in the middle of nowhere, it was stunningly beautiful. The views were breathtaking, and it was like we were on top of the world. Why are you still talking? Just be quiet and enjoy! I was so happy that I went on that trip. I missed my family, but I don’t think I would have experienced any of it if it weren’t for Lydia and Nobleman!”

After the tiresome excursion, Peggy remembers how scared she was by Vicki’s sudden illness. Her symptoms (and story line) certainly point to a heart attack which is incredibly alarming. She concludes, “Finally, after a long day with so much activity, we headed off to our rooms to rest and get ready for dinner. Vicki told me she wasn’t feeling well. When I arrived, she was vomiting, had pain in her arm, and was sweating. It couldn’t be good. I was worried, scared and uncertain about what was happening. Thank goodness the police arrived and announced that the ambulance was on its way. I have never been so scared in my life.”

Anyone want to get in on an over/under of how long it will be until Peggy takes another girls’ trip?

Exclusive Interview With The Survivor: HHH Contestant Voted Out of Episode 5 – Spoilers!

Exclusive Interview With The Survivor: HHH Contestant Voted Out of Episode 5 – Spoilers!

We’re inching our way towards the merge, as we have now said good-bye to a fifth contestant this season on Survivor. Already over a third of the way through the game, there have been a few blindsides and a few tense Tribal Councils, but mostly, we’ve said good-bye to players that weren’t long for the game or that haven’t been given all that much air-time through five episodes. That being said, tonight’s big decision by one player could end up being a pivotal moment in the game that we look back on and wonder “what if” this person would have chose differently?

Caution, as spoilers from this week’s episode are to follow! Turn back now! If you want to get caught up, be sure to check out the Episode 5 Recap here.

Exclusive Interview With The Survivor: HHH Contestant Voted Out of Episode 5 – Spoilers!

Roark Luskin, the 27-year-old social worker from Palo Alto, California, took the blunt of Ryan’s decision to stick with new ally Chrissy over his original ally Ali. We might have seen it coming, given the fact that Roark has struggled to get any air-time this season, compared to Chrissy who has been shown as an important strategic player. Tonight marked Roark’s first and final Tribal Council, never having to go there previously since her Healers tribe managed to avoid Tribal altogether during the first portion of the game. That might have played into Roark’s minimal screen-time, but even after the tribe swap, we only really got to see her play during this week’s episode. She was the lone Healer on her new tribe, but instead of becoming the swing vote, she ended up being the easy first post-swap target.

I had the chance to speak to Roark today on the FilmSurvivor Podcast (the full audio of which you can find and download at the bottom of this article). But here were some highlights:

ROARK INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTS:

On her relationship with Chrissy:

Roark Luskin: It started on Day Nine, which was day one of the swap, Chrissy made it very clear from that moment that she wanted to get rid of me and I think that was both a personal and a strategic decision. She and I were just sort of oil and water out there. I certainly wonder what it would be like if we had met in the real world…we’re both smart, ambitious women who want big things for the world, but because we met out there, there was no bridge to be built.

Exclusive Interview With The Survivor: HHH Contestant Voted Out of Episode 5 – Spoilers!

On her lack of air-time through the first four episodes:

Roark: [The Survivor Producers] are absolutely incredible story-tellers, they’re so good at their jobs…this is my boot, I had my little capsule moment but this is not my story. But watching all of these people that I had such affection for is really, really wonderful. Just hearing their voices again, getting to celebrate with them through this is really, really fun.

On why she thinks Ryan may have ultimately decided to vote her out instead of Chrissy:

Roark: I really liked Ryan, you know, in a lot of our pre-game interviews before we had even met, me and Ryan both had said that we wanted to work together. In an alternate universe where he and I were on a starting tribe, I think things could have looked really different. In a way, that breaks my heart, because I  adore Ryan and would have loved to have seen a Roark-Ryan partnership play out. Unfortunately that did not come to fruition. But one of my regrets is that I did not spend enough time one-on-one with Ryan…I leaned too much on Ali to be a go-between, and that was 100% my fault…but I really did not spend enough time with Ryan. And I wonder if we had really hashed out what we saw going forward, again, this is a woulda-shoulda-coulda if things would have been a bit different had we had the opportunity to really hash it out.

Lydia McLaughlin Regrets Making A Scene In Iceland

Lydia in Iceland

Lydia in Iceland

After watching this week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Lydia McLaughlin is regretful about a few things (menu throwing, to name one) and says she now sees Tamra Judge‘s side of things a little better, too.

Lydia shared in her Bravo blog, “The first night we arrived, Fridrik, our host, had planned an Icelandic dinner and drinks for us. Shannon and Tamra never texted me to say they weren’t coming. I totally understand that we had been traveling all day and night and if they wanted to stay in, no big deal. However, no one told me that.”

Lydia blogs about being left out of the group text. “When we went to my room for a night cap, and I heard about the group text, my feelings were definitely hurt. I’m an inclusive person, and apparently, I’m really sensitive about being left out. I simply found it odd that someone wouldn’t text the host but would text everyone else. In my mind, I’m thinking, “Why would Tamra leave me out? Did they all want to talk behind my back?” It wasn’t a good feeling, and I had planned to bring it up to Tamra the next day.”

Lydia does feel bad about losing her shit at lunch and tossing the menu, “The next day at lunch, I went to the table, and Shannon was sitting there, whispering to Tamra about it. This was annoying because I didn’t want to make it into a big ordeal. When Tamra is defensive and not hearing my heart, I am extremely frustrated. I feel like I didn’t want it to be a big deal, and somehow the situation spun out and became a scene. I was also frustrated that she was dismissing my feelings. I guess I was just looking for a simple apology. I never should have thrown the menu, and I regret losing my temper.”

Lydia shares that she is “so grateful that Vicki talked to me and gave me advice.” And says she now sees Tamra‘s reaction, “I’m also thankful I was able to pull Tamra aside and talk it out because that is what friends do. At the end of the day, I think it was an oversight, and I don’t think Tamra did it on purpose. I really treasure my friendship with Tamra and would never want something as silly as a group text to jeopardize that. Watching it all back, I understand Tamra’s reaction more.”

Danielle Staub Says She Has Proof Of What Dolores Catania Said; Calls Her A Jealous Bitch On Watch What Happens Live

Danielle Staub and Housewives Superfan Michael Rapaport were guests in the clubhouse last night on Watch What Happens Live. Danielle was her typical blunt self, bashing Dolores Catania and give her opinions on all things Real Housewives of New Jersey.

On Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice spatting over the restaurant, Danielle said “I think it’s just family banter, to be honest with you. I think they’re comfortable with each other and I think they’re willing to say whatever it is that’s on their minds and that’s a good thing. And I wouldn’t want to be a waitress either!”

Michael shared his opinion on Dolores. He calls it the “two year jinx” – that all of the new housewives come in relatively sweet and normal and have a great first season and then something happens and they are all a little nuts in their second season. He has a point.

Danielle‘s uninterrupted side of things with Dolores Catania: “I’ve never heard anyone use that word so often as she did. I gotta be honest with you, she said what she said. I know what she said. I have proof of what she said and she better be careful because shots have been fired and I’m ready to fire back. She hit me below the belt, I’m gonna go lower.”

A viewer asked Danielle what she’d say to Kim G if she ran into her and Danielle replied with a shady “who?”.

A caller asked if she’d ever consider making amends with Jacqueline Laurita, Dina Manzo or Caroline Manzo. Danielle said, “Dina. That’s all I have to say.”

The next caller up wanted to know why Dolores is so mistrusting of Danielle. “I think because she’s a jealous bitch who can’t get enough of me. She had a cake walk, lets face it. We can all agree there. I’m back, she’s not gonna be able to walk on the little cake walk anymore. I’m just gonna take her to her tasks and make her earn her way.”Andy and Michael exchanged a quick “WTF?” glance.

Danielle says that she “100%” thinks that Teresa will stay with Joe Giudice when he gets out of prison. “I really do believe in their relationship and their love and I’ve seen it firsthand, things you guys don’t get to see. They’re a really beautiful couple and they’re amazing together.”

Vicki Gunvalson Doesn’t “Expect Any Accountability Or An Apology” From Tamra Judge

Vicki & Tamra shopping in Iceland

Vicki & Tamra shopping in Iceland

Normally, I’m all for any Real Housewives feud, but the issues between Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge stopped entertaining me a long time ago. Their refusal to acknowledge each other – other than to bring up issues from YEARS ago without actually moving forward – has really fragmented the show. #NotMyRealHousewives.

I loved seeing the two of them giggling and being playful while they shopped for coats during the last episode in Iceland. It was also very awkward (yet low key entertaining) to see Shannon Beador‘s disapproval and discomfort in response to their interaction. The episode wasn’t all laughs and shopping for Vicki though. She had a serious medical scare at the end of it.

Vicki had a lot to say in her latest Bravo blog post.

The OG of the OC went in on Tamra (yet again), claiming, “I have a diary dating back over four years with ALL of the lies she has accused me of, which I have not called her out on. Doing so will serve not good purpose.” Why would Vicki have a diary of all the lies Tamra accused her of? Wouldn’t it make more sense for her to have a diary keeping track of Tamra’s lies? We are all very much aware of the accusations Tamra has thrown toward Vicki.

Vicki stated, “She will continue to defend herself and will never apologize or take accountability for her actions. When I asked her to meet me for tea a few episodes back, I went with the hope that we could put the past behind us and move forward.” Really? How was continuing to discuss rumors about Tamra’s husband and theorizing that he was only with her to open up a gym on the path toward moving forward?

Nevertheless, she insists, “I was fully prepared to apologize and take accountability for when I’ve hurt her, but when she asked, ‘What’s up?’ followed by, ‘What have I ever done to you?’ I was speechless. Does she really think that she has done NOTHING to hurt me?” They’ve both done some horrible shit to each other. Can they just move forward and argue about new problems instead of rehashing the same issues for three years with zero resolve? Is that so much to ask? Maybe it is since I’m talking about this in terms of a TV show and this is a real friendship that fell to shit, but hopefully the other viewers get what I’m saying here.

Vicki admitted, “It was really nice laughing again with Tamra. After all the hurt we both have caused each other, it felt good at least for that moment to feel like we could be back on track. Seeing all the flashbacks of all of our fun times over the past 10 years made me sad and happy.” SAME, VICKI. SAME. SAME. SAME. I too was getting very sentimental watching all of those flashbacks. And Vicki stopped with the reminiscing and returned to discussing the same old shit. She wrote, “I will take accountability for what I have done to hurt her, but I guess I can’t expect any accountability or apology on her end.” OK. We get it.

She shared, “I have talked to Steve [Lodge] about this a lot, so he knows how much this conflict between Tamra and I has affected me. His advice to me is to offer a sincere apology and not to ask or expect anything in return. Steve calls it a ‘naked apology.’ I told her last year at the reunion that IF I could take back discussing Eddie [Judge] privately with Kelly [Dodd], I would — what more can I do?” Vicki should stop perpetuating the Eddie rumors. That would be a solid start. What is the point of taking responsibility for something if she is just going to do the same shit over and over again?

I always wonder why the tension is always so high on a Real Housewives trip and now I’m thinking that lack of sleep is probably a major factor. Vicki revealed, “The trip to Iceland was four days long, and two of them we traveled, so to say that we were tired is an understatement.” That does not sound fun at all. No wonder these women are snapping at each other so easily. It’s brilliant on behalf of the production companies though. Paying for a “short” vacation is low on the budget and high on the drama.

Vicki discussed the end of the episode: “When I got back to the hotel, I wasn’t feeling good at all. I don’t know if it was overexertion, lack of sleep, lack of water or what. I could feel my heart beating really fast. I just wanted to sleep it off and elected not go to dinner. When Kelly and Peggy [Sulahian] came to my room to check up on me, they said I looked really bad, so they called down to Fridrik to come check on me. He called the police and paramedics after taking my pulse, he said it was rapid and wanted to be on the safe side and check it out. Stay tuned next week on what happened next.” Damn. Such a scary note to end the episode on.

Why Danielle Staub Thinks Siggy Flicker and Dolores Catania Need a Table Flipped at Them on Real Housewives of New Jersey

The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Danielle Staub, RHONJDanielle Staub got into her first true conflict during her triumphant return to The Real Housewives of New Jersey and it involved being called "scumbag" by Dolores Catania. Not once, but...

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: The Public Shaming Of Melissa

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: The Public Shaming Of Melissa

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: The Public Shaming Of Melissa

It’s official: Siggy Flicker’s sanity has left the building. It remains to be seen whether this circumstance will solidify her spot on The Real Housewives Of New Jersey long term (because, hey, we like our housewives messy!) or will get her booted off with nary a ruined cake as a parting gift. Until then, it’s all aboard the crazy train for us! Good thing we’re used to these kinds of barf-inducing rides. Dolores Catania also comes unhinged this week when Danielle Staub accuses her of trash-talking Teresa Giuidice behind her back. Thus the newest Housewives catchphrase – which I fully intend to use on someone special in the near future – is born: Welcome Back, Scumbag! It’s truly a greeting for every occasion.

We begin at Teresa’s house, where she’s making pork chops with her father while the kids tear the house apart. So, a standard day at the Giudice home. With Joe Giudice in prison, Teresa is essentially a single mom, but at least she has her father moved in to comfort her. The family is still reeling from the loss of Tre’s mom, though, in addition to Joe being locked up.

Thank god Siggy and Dolores also have each other, because the rest of the group has had just about enough of their whining over spilled cake. When Siggy stops by Dolores’ house to fill her in on how well the diner meeting went with Margaret Josephs, Dolores is not impressed. She still doesn’t trust Marge. Siggy piles on, telling her that Margaret thinks she’s a “yes” person – and by the way, so does everyone else! Dolores is outraged that Teresa, of all felons people, would call her a “follower.” No one puts Dolores in the corner! Except Frank, because he pays the bills. Siggy suggests they hear Teresa out at a jewelry/handbag party she’s throwing soon.

Over at the Gorga household, Joe is busy smacking Melissa Gorga’s a$$ in the kitchen. Margaret and Joe #3 (Benigno) come over for drinks, filling the Gorgas in on how they met. Short version: Marge had the hots for her contractor, so she divorced her husband for him. Joe #3 laughs at Joe Gorga’s fantasy that their romance looked like an internet porn clip he watches everyday while Melissa’s at Envy.

As the couples play pool, Margaret fills Melissa in on the diner scene. Marge feels badly that Siggy was hurt, but is happy they struck a truce. “Where’s my apology?” wonders Melissa, who’s still upset about being called trash. Meanwhile, Siggy is busy getting hormone pellets in her butt, which Joe and Joe would rather shoot themselves over than hear one more detail about. I hereby stand with the Joes on this matter.

JOSHUA!!! screams Siggy from her kitchen the next morning as she prepares for her party. She wants Josh to remember she’s not a regular mom – she’s a “cool mom!” Josh isn’t buying it, and he’s not about to start sharing the details of his sex life with her, no matter how much she hints around. So instead, Siggy just cries into a roll of paper towels. Um, this is certainly not the cool mom look she was going for, but it is a manipulation tactic that elicits a bewildered apology out of Josh before he bolts out of there. Oh, lord. Siggy is obviously mistaking her teenage son for an emotionally available human being (HA!). And he’s obviously mistaking her for a sane adult.

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: The Public Shaming Of Melissa

Back at Teresa’s, Melissa stops by with sprinkle cookies. KIDDING! She brought the good cupcakes. She also brought a heaping helping of mommy judgment, which she lavishly drowns Teresa in with her eyes as she watches Tre “give in” to Milania (wait – was that Milania? They all look so different to me this season!) when she requests to skip dance class. Ugh – whatever. The kid didn’t want to go to one class, lady! Get a grip. I’m getting the tingling sensation in the back of my neck that tells me Melissa and Teresa are going to start seriously sparring again this season verrrrrry soon. Let’s smash some damn cupcakes up in here! I’m ready.

Adding insult to injury, Teresa admits she knew about the restaurant Joe bought behind Melissa’s back. Thus, everyone is in on this completely fake scheme. But Melissa is even more concerned that Joe has gone in on the business with Tre, who – let’s face it – doesn’t have the most stellar business reputation, not to mention criminal record. Tre, however, sees no issues with mixing business with fambily. She’d literally have nothing to sell/write/cook/do if it weren’t for the entire dysfunctional pack of them schilling their wares and endless drama to the unwashed hordes.

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: The Public Shaming Of Melissa

At Margaret’s house, it’s staff meeting time. Because it’s always staff meeting time over here! (Do they live at this table?) It’s also time for Margaret’s mom, Marge Sr., to tell everyone about her dating life, which includes a dinner rendezvous with new paramour, Bob. Let’s take a moment to bow our heads in thanks that Bob’s name is not Joe. Marge Sr. and Marge Jr. are only 20 years apart in age and consider themselves co-party-animals. Marge Sr. also considers herself a sexual diva, and is not looking for some old schmuck who keeps it vanilla in the bedroom. Yowza! Bob better be bringing his A-game. And he better start thinking of what to say about these Furby earrings Marge Sr. wears around because I just…have no words.

As everyone laughs at mama Marge’s tales of sexytimes, Siggy calls to invite Margaret to her party. Alas, Marge Jr. will be in Vegas at a trade show, but at least she was invited. These two can wait another week before blowing up their game.

At lunch, Teresa, Danielle, and Melissa talk about the Dolores and Siggy issue. Siggy made up with Margaret and Teresa, but not with Melissa, which of course get Mel’s panties in a twist. But Danielle is really the one in a twist – over telling Teresa some juicy gossip about Dolores! Like Sauron, Danielle’s power has been diminished over the years, and now she needs to gather her armies. Her work begins at this lunch. The Great Eye is upon them!

Before Danielle gets a chance to dish, Teresa tells the ladies she’s taking her family to Puerto Rico. Then Melissa starts in with her “you need to put your foot down with those girls!” speech when Tre shares that her dorters want to go zip-lining. Taken aback, Teresa can’t believe Mel is commenting on her parenting practices. Especially without Juicy Joe and his raging drinking problems there to support her!

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: The Public Shaming Of Melissa

But brother Joe is all about supporting Teresa these days, and Teresa is allegedly all about supporting him too. Their family restaurant is their baby now, and that money ain’t gonna launder itself, people! Melissa is nowhere to be found as Teresa and Joe sit down to pretend to do business-y things, so Tre gets immediately incensed. When Mel shows up, Tre wastes no time in snarking at her about her lateness, how little she’ll probably be involved in running this rat trap, and how much of an entitled princess she is. And here we have it, folks! The Giudice-Gorga cold war is at an end! It’s about to be piping hot again.

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: The Public Shaming Of Melissa

Not caring about Tre’s judgment, Melissa puts her foot down. No, she won’t be cooking here. No, she won’t be waiting tables. But yes, she will be collecting the checks, thankyouverymuch! Sigh. This drama is less about a janky pizzeria than it is about Melissa shading Tre’s parenting skills. And as we all know, Teresa does not let that sh*t go. Like, EVER. Joe is (rightfully) getting nervous as he listens to his wife and sister go at each other’s throats. He thought this was long over with…but he would be wrong about that.

Across town, Dolores is in her boyfriend’s home “staging” it with Siggy before putting it on the market. David, the bald-doctor boyfriend we’ve only seen in literally one photo so far, wants to move closer to Dolores and her live in ex-husband. So, Siggy plays along with this staging ruse, dishing to Dolores about her angst with Joshua. Dolores feels her pain, but encourages her to let it go. She’s dealt with children flying the nest already, whereas Siggy can barely deal with a smashed cake.

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: The Public Shaming Of Melissa

Teresa and Milania are at home playing with slime when Joe emails them from prison. Milania is excited to hear from her father, and even Tre admits that the girls really do need and miss him. “Time’s flying by,” says Teresa, who knows these are years that Joe will never get back with his family. Milania, especially, is a daddy’s girl who needs a lot of attention – not to mention structure. She’s struggling, and it’s sad. The kids are suffering for their parents’ mistakes.

It’s the night of Siggy’s party, and she’s doing her brokedown-Oprah HELLLLOOOOOOO!!! to everyone who strolls in. Dolores shows up early to meet the gang of future Melissa-haters (even though they don’t know it yet). Melissa may think Siggy owes her an apology, but Siggy isn’t offering one without getting an apology from Mel first. Good luck with that, girls. In the mean time, let’s party and buy some f**king tacky purses!

In the car on the way to the party, Danielle tells Teresa that Dolores talked smack about her recently. According to Danielle, Dolores said, “Teresa isn’t concerned about anything or anyone except for money.” Tre is shocked to hear this, but Danielle stands firm that it is the god’s honest truth – hand to leopard print leggings! “Good friends don’t talk like that,” says Danielle, who just set the stage for the next cat fight.

At the party, everyone mingles for a while until Melissa walks in. Siggy initially greets her warmly, leading her around the purse table for a beat, then immediately launches into how upset she still is. But Melissa is still angry about the trash comment, and wonders why Siggy hasn’t apologized yet? Siggy thinks SHE still deserves an apology – that cake was destroyed! Ugh. Melissa and the rest of planet earth doesn’t want to hear another word about the damn cake. Seriously.

But Siggy would like to take a public vote on the matter – like, right now! So she screams at/asks the entire group of party goers to raise their hands if they think it’s RUDE TO THROW A BEAUTIFUL CAKE THAT A FRIEND LOVINGLY BOUGHT FOR YOU!?!??! Good icebreaker.

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: The Public Shaming Of Melissa

The scared sh*tless guests meekly raise their bejeweled claws, temporarily looking like they’ve just become part of a random bank robbery. Satisfied, Siggy then dramatically throws herself on the ground, squealing THANK YOOOOOOU! THAT’S ALL I WANTED!!! Oy vey. Melissa is thusly shamed, but really more embarrassed for Siggy, who’s acting like an obnoxious tween at her own party. This broad has officially lost her frigging mind.

Also about to lose her mind is Dolores, who doesn’t know it yet, but will be placed squarely in the center of some Teresa/Danielle drama in a matter of minutes! After Danielle arrives, Teresa pulls their entire group out to the deck to tell Siggy once and for all: Let the cake sh*t GO! Dolores defends Siggy’s feelings, then in the next breath (ironically) defends herself against being called Siggy’s follower. She claims she defends ALL of her friends equally – including Teresa!

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: The Public Shaming Of Melissa

“So, you’ve never spoken about her?” coyly inserts Danielle, who’s been waiting YEARS for this very moment. She then outs the statement Dolores allegedly made about Teresa, which immediately sets Dolores off. “You’re a f**king LIAR!” screams Dolores, who thinks Danielle is just here to cause drama. “Welcome back, scumbag!” she shouts in Danielle’s face, pointing her finger at the woman who just gave her a storyline. (Dang. She should be sending Danielle a fruit basket, no?)

The Real Housewives Of New Jersey Recap: The Public Shaming Of Melissa

Enraged, Dolores tells Teresa not to trust Danielle, who she claims is straight up lying about her. But she’s the one coming unhinged here while Danielle just smugly sits in her chair, feeling the winds of fortune blow softly against her crispy tan. “All I have to say is this, Teresa,” warns Dolores. “Sleep wit’ one eye open because she’s up to no good!”

Teresa wonders what the truth really is. Who’s the liar here? Dolores the Siggy Soldier, or Danielle the reformed Prostitution Whore? It’s a riddle for the Sphinx. Inside, Danielle cries, telling Teresa in private that Dolores really, truly did say those words. Teresa agrees to go home with her, still not knowing quite what to believe. Dolores is glad to see Danielle go, but she’s afraid for Teresa, who seems to be firmly under her spell. But maybe Danielle’s a good witch now? Hey – stranger things have happened in the world of Housewives, after all!

TELL US: WHO DO YOU BELIEVE – DOLORES OR DANIELLE? ARE TERESA AND MELISSA BREWING FOR ANOTHER FAMILY FEUD? IS SIGGY EVER, EVER, EVER GOING TO GET OVER THAT DAMN CAKE?

Survivor: HHH Episode 5 Recap: The Middle Man

Survivor: HHH Episode 5 Recap: The Middle Man

Things change so often on Survivor that as a player, it’s always good to keep your options open. During Episode 5, one contestant was forced to choose a side moving forward, between a Day One ally and someone whom this person shared a special bond with. But ultimately was the right decision made?

Please remember that this recap assumes that you have already seen this week’s Episode 5 of Survivor: HHH, so if you have not and don’t want to be spoiled, please come back later! It’s important to add too that while we WILL hit on all of the important developments of the episode, this is not a linear “blow-by-blow” recap, and is more of a discussion and reaction of what we just witnessed together.

Survivor: HHH Episode 5 Recap: The Middle Man

Of course, this “middle man” of whom I speak is in reference to Ryan, who found himself sitting pretty as the swing vote during this week’s somewhat ho-hum Tribal Council.

Ryan has played a good social game to this point (let’s not talk about his physicality though, as he flopped around like a trout-out-of-water during the episode’s Reward Challenge). It came as somewhat of a surprise that he not only decided to stay loyal to Chrissy, but the manner in which he threw his original ride-or-die alliance-mate Ali under the bus was also a bit of a shock. You may remember that Ryan chose to give his “Super Idol” to Chrissy during the first episode, and the two then bonded over this once they were united after the tribe swap. Both Chrissy and Ali seemed to be in great social positions in the game – with Ryan aligned with them both – heading into the ep, but as it was revealed, Ryan was really in-between a rock and a hard place due to the fact that Ali and Chrissy don’t want to work together. This put Ryan in the awkward position of having to pick a side, but why not just break it to Ali what you plan to do, to keep her loyalty intact? Instead, as we saw with next week’s preview, it looks like Ryan and Ali’s relationship is completely shattered and ruined.

The result of this major clash was that Roark was sent home. The edit so far this season might have tipped its hand that Roark was in trouble, since we’ve hardly seen or heard from Roark through four episodes leading into this week, and they’ve painted Chrissy as being a key player. I don’t quite think it would have mattered had Roark decided to work with Chrissy after Chrissy approached her. I’m pretty sure Chrissy had her sights set on Roark to go home next regardless. I did like Roark’s attitude, and even during her closing remarks, she owned her game and basically said that it was no excuse to have been the lone Healer at camp.

But once again this week – as I have been saying all season – the players that have had the least amount of air-time have been the ones systematically voted out thus far…and this is not always the case on Survivor. For those thinking that this isn’t the “best” season or aren’t impressed thus far, I urge you to stick with it, because once all of these good players start having to go head-to-head, I feel like this season is going to have a great chance at redeeming itself.

Survivor: HHH Episode 5 Recap: The Middle Man

Elsewhere, we got a really personal scene with Ben, the Marine who, like many of our soldiers, lives with PTSD. A crackling bamboo log in the fire triggered Ben to react by isolating himself in the water away from his camp and tribe. The more we see of Ben, the more we like him and the more we want to root for him. You could see the struggle in his eyes, and he’s right…there is no way any of us can possibly understand. But we do appreciate the light that Ben is shining on this serious topic.

The other big development was that Dr. Mike found an Idol! Jessica knew where Cole and Joe had dug up the Idol at their old camp, so Jessica and Dr. Mike literally took a stab at looking in the same place at their new camp and – voila! – they found it. We know that Dr. Mike is going to play a big role this season, mainly due to Jeff Probst gushing over him during the pre-season cast assessments, and it’s lining up that way all right. He is currently shackled to Cole though, who continued to annoy people. Their “Cole Problem” might end up taking care of itself though, because next week’s preview showed Cole collapsing at camp. Now of course, we hope he is medically good to go and wasn’t injured in any way, but if he did happen to be medically-evacuated from the game, that might be the best thing that could happen to Jessica and Dr. Mike’s game in the long run.

Survivor: HHH Episode 5 Recap: The Middle Man

We didn’t get too much with the Blue tribe, other than a bit of the aftermath following last week’s Tribal Council, where Joe played his Idol. Ashley is now the lone hero at her camp, but is coming to the realization that Joe is not only an aggressive player, but a smart one as well. Either way, Joe will continue to have a major target on his back. And we figured as much, but Devon and Ashley plan to stick together, even if they have to force a tie vote at the next Tribal…although they dropped what might be a bit of foreshadowing by saying that they think that Desi might just be willing to turn on her ally Joe. We’ll have to wait and see.

Episode Take-Away: This wasn’t the most exciting or ground-breaking episode of all-time, let’s face it. Through five episodes, only one or two have stood out. I will continue to preach that an average episode – an average season – of Survivor, is still better than 95% of everything else that’s on TV (especially in the realm of Reality TV), and I have to continuously remind myself that – 35 seasons in – not every episode is going to be the greatest ever. Still, I urge you once again not to give up on this season. I just have a feeling that this season is going to become great post-merge…there are just too many good-to-great players left in the game and we’ve yet to see them all go head-to-head. Give it time people.

Beyond that, what a difference a week can make. Chrissy has been one of the most impressive players so far this season, but this week we saw her struggle at a challenge and then almost get voted out of the game. If you would have asked me to pick two front-runners to win it all last week, I would have said Chrissy, followed by Ali…but Ali has now gone from the penthouse to the doghouse. Ryan – for all he talks about being a great social player – could have handled this way better. Why burn the bridge with Ali? Maybe we’ll get more insight going into next week, but it looks like he just decided to abandon having any relationship with Ali in the game whatsoever. Ali is now in serious trouble and all she can hope for is for that merge to come as quickly as possible.

Survivor: HHH Episode 5 Recap: The Middle Man

Strategic Move of the Week: Sorry, I’m not giving this award out this week, as I just don’t believe there were any great strategic moves. Did I miss any? Leave your comments below!

Voted out this week: Roark

Won Immunity: Red Tribe, Blue Tribe

Vote: No Idols or advantages played. 3 – Roark (Ryan, JP, Chrissy), 2 – Chrissy (Ali, Roark)

Next Week’s Episode: We get to see the full aftermath of Ryan‘s Tribal Council decision, as Ali is obviously not very happy about how he chose to go about it. And then a scary moment occurs, when Cole seems to just lose consciousness and falls down at camp…let’s hope he’s OK!

Quick Note! Remember to return right here to Reality Tea for my FilmSurvivor Podcast Thursday, where you can listen to my full exit interview with Roark. Last but not least, I encourage you to check out my weekly movie reviews. And as always, the easiest way to get all of my Survivor coverage and movie reviews is to follow me on Twitter – @tomsantilli – or on Facebook.

TELL US – DO YOU THINK RYAN MADE THE RIGHT DECISION? WHAT DO YOU THINK WAS THE BEST STRATEGIC MOVE OF THE EPISODE? AND WILL ALI BE ABLE TO REBOUND FROM RYAN’S BETRAYAL?
