Danielle Staub: “I Used To Be Close With NeNe Leakes Until She Decided She Didn’t Need Me”

Original Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member Danielle Staub made her big comeback this season after five seasons away from Bravo. She started out on the show as a friend of Jacqueline Laurita and she left the show as an enemy of Teresa Giudice’s after Teresa flipped a table on her and chased her through a country club.

Now Danielle and Teresa are on good terms, but the same cannot be said about Danielle and Caroline Manzo, Dolores Catania, and Siggy Flicker – which is surprising to just about no one. Speaking of Danielle’s beefs, she recently revealed that she has issues with Atlanta Housewife NeNe Leakes.

Danielle appeared on the Mouthing Off With Olivia Caridi podcast to discuss Real Housewives from across the franchise. She claimed, “I was in the eleventh hour of coming back for the reunion of Season 3, so I could come back on 4 and I backed out. I went, ‘Wait, Caroline. Wait, Jacqueline. Wait, I’m not doing this.’ It happened two more times. We kept-talking Andy [Cohen] and I – and there was no space for me.” Did Danielle really pass up a chance to return before Season 8? She was lobbying to return for a long time on social media.

During Season 8, Danielle got along with all of the Housewives except for Dolores and Siggy. She theorized, “I think [Siggy] and Dolores just made a pact to come after me. ‘Let’s make her feel irrelevant’ and I just had to keep reminding them that you’re only relevant because I had been relevant. Just relax. And I gave them a story line.”

Danielle was asked to name her ideal cast for a Real Housewives show with women from different cities. Of course, Danielle started by saying, “I would say it would be Teresa and I.” That surprised absolutely no one.

Then she claimed, “Lisa Vanderpump because I am close with Lisa and I met her before she was on the show. She came up to me at the VMA’s and it was at the SLS.” What does “close” mean? I would kill to see these two having a conversation. Sticking with Beverly Hills ladies, Danielle said, “People might be shocked by this, but I would pick Lisa Rinna. She’s my spirit animal.” I’m not at all shocked by that. Danielle added, “I do love Erika [Jayne]. Man, she’s hot.”

Moving on to Atlanta, Danielle said, “Sheree [Whitfield], I’m close friends with her.” I would love to see these two on a show together, yelling at a mutual enemy at a restaurant before the food even comes out. Then Danielle dropped some pretty random information: “I used to be close with NeNe until NeNe decided she didn’t need me. OK, NeNe. I don’t need her either, but I didn’t know she needed me at all.” Then she added, “It would be good to have her around though to reach those really high spots.” I would love to hear NeNe’s take on this.

Danielle continued, “Orange County, I would definitely want Tamra [Judge]. She’s so good. She can cry. She can laugh. She’s been through things and she’s got really good Botox. She’s got a really good body too. And I do like Kelly [Dodd].”

She said, “If I were to do anything with New York, of course we would have to do Bethenny [Frankel].” She added, “I remember when she didn’t even have an exhaust fan in her studio. She’s definitely had whatever it takes to get where she is and I admire that.

Lea Black Talks Real Housewives, Friendship With Jeff Lewis, Skincare, And More On Pink Shade Podcast

The Real Housewives Of Miami may be in our rearview mirrors, but Lea Black has not faded out of the spotlight – not by a long shot! The oft-titled “Mayor of Miami” appeared with her good friend Jeff Lewis on last season’s Flipping Out, and is already shooting scenes for this season as well (yay!). Lea also joins Jeff regularly on his SiriusXM radio show, where the two besties dish about pop culture, design, politics – you name it. Lea’s annual fundraising gala is still the talk of the town in Miami, and she’s also busy working on her skincare, jewelry and handbag lines, as well as promotion of her novel, Red Carpets & White Lies, a novel loosely based on the underbelly of Miami’s socialite scene.

Lea recently sat down with the Pink Shade With Erin Martin Podcast to dish on Housewives, Jeff, her relationship with The Queen of Versailles, Jackie Siegal – and more. Lea also does a Facebook Live show every Wednesday called Lunch With Lea which she describes as a time for her to dissect “all the trash and all the gossip – everything from pop culture to movies to music to politics to throwing people under the bus – laughing at people, laughing at people, awards shows. Whatever! We just talk, talk, talk.”

No stranger to speaking her mind on any subject, Lea shared some inside scoop on why she thinks RHOM wasn’t “sustainable” as a Housewives franchise in the end. Bottom line: individual egos destroyed the show, especially when it came to cast members trying to one-up each other. Lea claims that her cast mates were particularly jealous of Joanna Krupa and (later addition) Karent Sierra. She tells Erin on the podcast, “You know, the girls were just so jealous of [Joanna], it was ridiculous! And the other one they were jealous of was Karent. They just couldn’t get Karent off the show fast enough, they were so jealous of her.”

“One of them said one time, ‘She’s my number one competition!’ I’m like, what are you talking about? Are you delusional? Competition for what? I mean, they’re just so shallow with that short term thinking,” says Lea.

However, Lea considers Marysol Patton the real cause of their franchise’s demise. “She was the downfall as far as I’m concerned. She started the hate club and turned everyone against me. Then it became boring. I mean, who wants to sit around and watch a bunch of girls hate? It was just not sustainable. Also, everything she did was based on a lie. Like me not liking her mother (Elsa) – that was based on a lie. Like her being new best friends with Adriana [de Moura] – that was based on a lie. So when everything’s based on a lie, and it’s all about hate and bringing people down, I mean who’s interested in that? I was bored with it myself!”

Before Bravo, and more particularly, Andy Cohen, became obsessed with the quirky Mama Elsa as a character, Lea says the entire cast, including Marysol, wasn’t that interested in filming with her. But Lea was. “So we became friends because I was the only one who would sit and talk to her,” she explains. “Then when she became popular, it was all like, ‘oh you’re just trying to film with her to become popular.’ I was like, what are you talking about? You idiots wouldn’t give her the time of day!”

Lea has a warning for The Real Housewives of Orange County, who she sees as potentially going down this same dark path. A show built on long-lasting resentments simply can’t sustain itself, she argues. A cast shakeup is in needed over there, although Lea admits she can’t ever picture Vicki Gunvalson leaving the show (nor does she want her to).

In the end, Lea says “the mean girls hijacked the show” after new producers came in. But the former RHOM Housewife has no regrets about the show being canceled – it’s been onward and upward since then!

Lea’s friendship with Jeff Lewis was highlighted on Flipping Out when she appeared on several episodes to work with him on designing her LA home which, incidentally, is within spitting distance of Jeff’s house. Although some viewers berate him for his bad behavior, Lea says, “I love Jeff. I think he is so entertaining, but he’s also got such a sweet side to him that people don’t often see. To see him go from having a literal meltdown telling off a neighbor to being so sweet with his little girl – he’s just got so many layers.”

When Lea brought her friends Jackie and David Siegal on the show for Jeff to consider as potential clients, viewers took a trip down the rabbit hole of the eccentric billionaires’ lifestyle – and extreme hoarding issues! Asked whether she’s actually good friends with the Siegals, Lea claims, “I am! She’s really just so sweet. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, so good for her.”

She does admit that Jackie’s tendency to get her dead pets stuffed to keep around the house creeps her out – as it should! Lea laughs, “No! No, I think it’s horrible! But that’s just who they are in the world, and at least they don’t pretend to be someone they’re not. But no, I was horrified when I saw those dead dogs on that piano! I literally couldn’t believe it. But I was like, this is their home, I’m not going to say anything.”

Even though she’s not a Housewife any longer, Lea does love dissecting the current Housewives out there, some of whom she thinks aren’t playing the game quite right. For starters, she criticizes Bravolebrities who just use the platform to make a buck schilling whatever merchandise they can get their name on. As a person who’s been in the skincare business since the 1980s, Lea thinks it’s wiser to build a brand first, then use the show to highlight it.

From Bethenny Frankel to Ramona Singer on The Real Housewives of New York, Lea comments on how their branding can go a bit overboard. She thinks the NY cast is pretty golden though, commenting, “Sonja [Morgan] is my favorite. She reminds me of a young Barbara Streisand – she just can’t get out of her own way. She’s had a rough time of it since her divorce, so she’s just doing what she has to do. And good for her! I cheer her on all the time. I’m always here for the underdog.”

Interestingly, Lea had a brush with Luann de Lesseps’ recent fall from grace when the former Countess called Roy Black (Lea’s high powered attorney husband) for advice after her Palm Beach arrest. “She called my husband for advice, and he did recommend a great lawyer for her. The second good thing she did was go to rehab, which is good for the courts – but did she really need rehab? Only she knows that. I don’t think she really has a long term drinking problem. I think she’s just going through a rough spot, and my bet is that she’ll bounce back.”

For those of us of certain age who want our skin to bounce back, Lea says her Sudden Youth mask (available from her skincare line on LeaBlack.com) is a miracle facial. Several Housewives swear by it, and Lea claims it’s not only preventative in nature, but can actually erase fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, dark spots – the works. She jokes that there are some Housewives out there who she’d love to send a kit to – Teresa Giudice and Kenya Moore being two of them!

Jacqueline Laurita’s Daughter Ashlee Holmes Slams Teresa For Being “Trash, Vindictive, A Hypocrite, & A Miserable Person”; Says Melissa Gorga Is Worse

Season 8 of Real Housewives of New Jersey just wrapped and there are already rumors about next year’s cast. There is a lot of speculation that original cast members Jacqueline Laurita and Caroline Manzo will return to the show which would be very interesting considering their contentious relationships with Teresa Giudice. Plus fellow OG Danielle Staub is back on the scene these days so there is plenty of potential for drama.

Teresa was asked about the possibility of Jacqueline and Caroline coming back and she hurled some harsh insults their way. Now Jacqueline’s daughter (and Caroline’s niece) Ashlee Holmes is firing back.

Ashlee went off on Tre in a series of tweets. She wrote, “I have never met bigger hypocrite in my life than Teresa Giudice. She’s an idiot who let “fame” (for being trash) go to her head. When I see her STILL doing interviews going on hate RANTS about my family… I’m not surprised. She’s hateful and vindictive.” Just for reference, Teresa referred to Ashlee’s mom and aunt as “evil people” and “money hungry bitches.”

Ashley brought up two heavy subjects with her next diss: Teresa’s jail time and the passing of her mother. She tweeted, “She’s just a miserable person. And misery loves company. If going to jail and having your mother pass away doesn’t shift your moral compass even a little bit………. you know there’s a deeper problem. I honestly just feel sorry for her at this point. Enough is enough.”

A Twitter user asked Ashlee, “Why don’t you @ her tho…” Ashlee quoted that tweet and responded, “Because I blocked her a whileeeee ago.”

There’s no need to worry. I’m sure Teresa is very much aware of these comments. In my head, plenty of people sent Teresa screen shots from this Twitter rant. Plus even if Ashlee did mention Teresa directly, I feel like Teresa isn’t the kind of person who checks her notifications, or even has the Twitter app on her phone. She seems so far removed from that.

A fan tweeted Ashlee saying, “I was thinking that too I think Melissa is far more genuine.” And Ashlee responded with, “False. Melissa is worse.” And I immediately flashed back to the Season 7 Vermont trip when Jacqueline told Melissa Gorga, “You are a fake, phony bitch and everyone knows it. You have four nose jobs that you won’t even admit to!”

Ashlee hammered her point home when she tweeted a GIF from the Demi Lovato song “Sorry Not Sorry.”

As hilarious as it is watching Lisa Rinna and Lisa Vanderpump make fun of each other on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, this show feels more like a lifestyle documentary than a reality show at this point. Where is the drama? We need a little more controversy and Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave arguing with Dorit Kemsley for being late isn’t going to satisfy me for much longer.

I love seeing the outrageous outfits, lavish spending, and everything else associated with this lifestyle, but can they just get in an argument, throw some wine, or do something worthy of a meme? Please.

Rinna shared her thoughts on the ~~latest uneventful~~ last episode in her Bravo blog. She admitted, “As everyone knows, Vanderpump and I absolutely love taking the piss out of one another. Taking jabs and being snarky is what we both live for in our relationship, and I would agree that if ‘Poking Fun at Lisa’ was an Olympic sport, I think we could both claim the gold. Now let me see if I can find that needle and thread for you, Dr. Vanderpump!” I’m all for the Lisa on Lisa banter, especially since no one else is willing to get their hands dirty in any way.

Rinna added, “In all seriousness, despite the jabs and jokes, I have to commend Vanderpump on the work they’ve done with their dog rescue center. This, in addition to their crusade to Stop Yulin Forever, has saved many dogs lives.”

That’s all well and good, but I still need some more excitement on this show. Thankfully Teddi is not letting Dorit’s pretentiousness get her down and she stood up for herself after Dorit attempted to change the narrative. On the other hand, I really can’t hear about Dorit being late to lunch 983343 more times. Dorit is inconsiderate. End of story. Let’s move on.

Rinna seems to feel the same way. She wrote, “This Lategate situation going on between Dorit and Teddi is starting to give me a headache, so I’m going to pop into my white light bubble and drink from a red solo cup to stay safe from whatever is about to happen.” I love her for throwing shade at Dorit for all of the fuss that she made over the glassware at Teddi’s home.

Stassi Schroeder Explains Why She Went To The Memorial For Ex Boyfriend Jax Taylor’s Dad

It is tough for any outsider to understand the relationship dynamics within the Vanderpump Rules cast. They’re always fighting, breaking up, making up, and hanging out with their exes (and their significant others’ exes) on a regular basis. This show started out as the Jax Taylor and Stassi Schroeder show. That felt like a whole lifetime ago since so much has happened since then and Jax is dating Brittany Cartwright (who is friends with Stassi now).

Jax, Stassi, Brittany, (Jax’s previous hookup) Kristen Doute, and another one of Jax’s exes Rachael O’Brien all got together in Jax’s home state of Michigan to honor Jax’s father who recently passed away.

Stassi opened up about her decision to attend her ex’s dad’s memorial along with Jax’s other exes and his current girlfriend during an episode of her Straight Up With Stassi podcast. She shared, “Right away, I felt like this need to go. I knew him. He was always so kind to me. His family is so kind to me. His son isn’t, but the rest of his family is.”

Stassi made it clear that she’s very much aware of how strange it seems that all of these people would come together. She said, “I think it’s a wonderful thing that we all came together. Kristen Doute came with us and Brittany was up there. We looked kind of to the outside, well ridiculous. It’s Jax’s two ex girlfriends and the girl who he hooked up with and then his new girlfriend. It looks ridiculous, but it did not f-cking matter.”

She continued, “A lot of people were like ‘This is so weird’ and it’s not actually. May that be a lesson about just putting aside differences for the sake of something better. There are more important things than the pettiness of what we fight over.”

Even though Stassi made it clear that she and Jax are far from being best friends, she did admit, “I was getting really annoyed because I was seeing people on Twitter write mean things to Jax like ‘you’re getting what you deserve.’ Disgusting, gross shit.” She added, “His amazing father passed away. This is my problem with Twitter. It’s awful. Hopefully we can inspire someone out there to swallow pride for the sake of something good in at least once instance.”

Stassi concluded, “We are not on the best terms with Jax at all. He’s our ex boyfriend, who has done terrible things, not only to us, but to our friend Brittany. We’re not the biggest fans, but sometimes you have to swallow your pride just for the greater good. And Ron Cauchi was a wonderful man. I will end on that.”

NeNe Leakes Thinks She Is Held To A Different Standard Than Porsha Williams On RHOA

Bravo needs to hand Tyrone Gilliams a peach. Sheree Whitfield’s imprisoned boyfriend is bringing more to the table than most of the full-time cast members on Real Housewives of Atlanta. He has not appeared in one scene this season, yet he is causing quite the stir via speaker phone.

I absolutely live for it when Sheree’s phone rings and there’s an automated message asking if she wants to accept a collect call from an inmate and Tyrone really came through during that last episode. He asked a lot of questions about NeNe Leakes and not-so-subtly implied that he has some information on NeNe that she doesn’t want to get out.

During that episode, Tyrone asked Sheree if NeNe was “running her mouth” about him. He also “asked” “How long has NeNe been married?” That is a rhetorical question that he obviously asked with the sole intention of stirring the pot. Tyrone even said, “NeNe should never want to speak anything negatively about me. She don’t want to go down that road.”

NeNe isn’t afraid of anyone. She did go down that road. In an episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta After show on the Bravo website, NeNe cut right to the chase and denied everything that Tyrone was implying during that episode. She explained, “I was going through a divorce at that time and we were staying at the same hotel and he was with another girl. Of course they were super thirsty and came over and, you know, ‘Hi, want to meet you. Want to take you out to dinner.’ We went out to dinner in a group setting and then, later on, called me on his own and wanted to go out to dinner and, uh, well you know…” No, we don’t, NeNe. What does that mean? Clarification is necessary.

NeNe said, “Well I am NeNe Leakes honey. I give free dinners now and then,” which sounds like a date to me. Even so she insisted, “I knew him VERY briefly and no sexual contact took place. No kiss, no holding hands, no hugging, NOTHING! Dinner? drinks.”

NeNe shaded Tyrone, saying, “He loves RHOA! He’s super fan! I’ve never offered myself to any man and if I had, trust me he would have taken it.” And she threw in a jab toward Sheree: “It’s very disappointing that I’m being used to help with her story line this season.” I don’t blame NeNe for being annoyed, but as a viewer I can’t help feeling like this is a lot more interesting than Sheree avidly defending the baseboards and trim at Chateau Sheree like she did for most of last season.

Court Hearing For Luann de Lesseps Canceled; Is There A Plea Deal In The Works?

Yesterday the news hit that Real Housewives of New York star Luann de Lesseps is facing up to five years in prison following her drunken Christmas Eve arrest. Knowing how the “celebrity” justice system works, most people did not think that Lu would ever be behind bars for that long- if at all.

Now, just a day later, a court hearing was discretely cancelled and this could be a subtle indication that the former countess has a plea deal in the works.

Of course this news comes courtesy of Page Six, the go-to source for Real Housewives of New York updates and drama. Luann’s lawyer Doug Duncan was set to represent her at court in Palm Beach today, but the court date was cancelled last night.

The quiet cancellation of the court appearance could be a good sign that Luann’s lawyer is working out a plea deal. Obviously, the news will break immediately if that happens, but as of now it is unclear what the plan is.

Given that Luann isn’t one for legal trouble, I’m guessing she’ll have some community service and a fine, perhaps? What do you think?

Little Women LA's Briana Renee Files For Divorce From Matt Ericson; Obtains Restraining Order Against Him!

After years of heeding warnings from family and friends about her husband Matt Ericson, Briana Renee had no choice but to file a temporary restraining order from him.

Now the Little Women: La star got that temporary restraining order extended with the hope of making it a permanent one.

According to an article RadarOnline, Briana filed court documents that claim Matt threatened to commit suicide, sent sexts to other women about bestiality and a minor family member, and her physically and verbally abused her. This temporary restraining order will protect Briana until April 3, which is the same date for another hearing to make the restraining order permanent.

The couple has been married for three (drama filled) years. After years of controversy with him sexting other women, cheating on her, and fighting with the entire Little Women: LA cast in addition to her family members, they split up in November. The couple shares a son, Maverick, who is eighteen months old.

In other Briana news, TMZ reports that she will not be joining the cast for the upcoming season of Little Women: LA. Rumor has it that Briana didn’t want to make the divorce and drama surrounding it a part of the show, so she made the decision to leave. TMZ claims that they will not be casting anybody new to replace her.
