The Bachelor Season 28, Episode 6 Recap: Just Say ‘Je T’aime’

Welcome to our recap of The Bachelor Season 28, Episode 6! In this episode, Joey Graziadei takes his 10 remaining ladies to Montréal, Canada. Eight of them will have a group date exploring some of Montréal native Jesse Palmer’s favorite locations. Sadly, Joey decides to send one hopeful home in the middle of the date, because she’s just not his person. (Could her loathing for Maria have played into it?) Then two of the ladies each get their own romantic one-on-one dates before one seeming frontrunner self-eliminates. Here are some of the highlights from The Bachelor Season 28, Episode 6.

Joey’s feeling insecure

Bonjour from Montréal, y’all! Joe’s struggling. Though he’s really looking forward to seeing the ladies this week, he’s falling for “multiple women,” and it scares him.

Joey’s “scared to death” of revealing his feelings to the women he’s feeling strongest about. He’s worried they don’t feel the same and will leave because they don’t share his feelings. Oh, sweetie! Have you seen this show? Hardly anybody ever does that. These women are so competitive they’d scratch each other’s eyes out just to get to sit next to you.

The last time he really opened up was with Charity Lawson, Season 20’s Bachelorette. As we all know, Charity chose Dotun Olubeko over Joey, leaving him heartbroken. But this time, Joey’s in the driver’s seat. He gets to choose. Just choose wisely, Joey.

Jenn’s excited to be in Montréal. “I’m excited to chug a gallon of maple syrup,” she laughs as they walk down the street. “And I would love to ride a moose.” Both bad ideas, Jenn. All that syrup would definitely make you sick, and you need to keep your distance from the moose. Those guys will kill you if you get in their way. They’re huge, wild animals, not house pets.

As Maria is bragging about speaking French (she’s from Canada), the ladies run into Jesse, who greets them, “Bienvenue a Montréal!” Jesse tells us he’s Canadian and speaks fluent French. I didn’t know that.

Jesse’s favorite hometown locations

Jesse lists the names of the women who will be on the group date: Daisy, Katelyn, Kelsey A., Jenn, Rachel, Lexi, Lea, and Jess. That means Maria and Kelsey T. have the coveted one-on-one dates this week. How long do you think until Jess starts whining about it not being “fair?”

Jesse tells the lucky eight ladies, “Joey’s enlisted me to show you all the best spots here in my neighborhood in Old Montréal … The first clue is right here,” he says, handing a card to Jenn.

“It’s in French,” she says. “I can’t read that.”

“All right, ladies,” Jesse finishes. “Joey’s waiting for you. Bon chance [good luck].”

They bump into Joey just down the street. They open the date card together and read, “Montrez-moi votre amour pour cette ville, et rendezvous à my boutique souvenir péférée.” Google translates this message as, “Show me your love for this city, and go to my favorite souvenir shop.” You’ve gotta love technology.

One of the stops is at Jesse’s favorite restaurant, where they get to make poutine. It’s gravy over French fries with cheese curds. I’ve always wanted to try it.

But Jesse has dropped off some odd ingredients for them to try. Jenn decides to make her “poutine” with fries, pineapple, chocolate sauce, and sriracha. Ugh. Maybe she should throw some maple syrup in there, too, since she’s so anxious to try it. That looks disgusting.

One goes home, one gets a rose

When it’s time for the evening portion of the date, the women march out of the hotel in close formation, like little toy soldiers. Gotta get ‘em all in the shot, I guess.

They’re all starting to feel the pressure. Seeing the relationships he’s built with some of the other girls weighs heavily on some of them. Everyone is feeling insecure and needs to get some alone time with Joey tonight.

When Jess finally gets time with Joey, she lays it all on the line and tells him she’s definitely “falling” for him. She wants that one-on-one time so they can go deeper. But as she’s telling him all of this, Joey’s face looks sad. Uh oh.

“I just don’t think it’s right to keep you here,” he finally says, as her face falls. “I’m so sorry.” And with that, he walks her out. Didn’t see that coming. And neither did she. I’m not a Jess fan (I think she’s immature), but I feel bad for her. And so does Joey, who feels incredibly guilty. But it’s better to be honest.

When Joey returns to the other women, they’re stunned to hear that Jess is gone. But Joey feels like he’s making progress. And he gives the rose to Jenn. Ugh. I just think she’s a hateful bitch. Whether or not you like Maria, she doesn’t deserve to be treated the way Jenn has been attacking her.

And is anyone else struggling to tell Jenn and Lea apart? They’re both very pretty girls with long, dark hair, and they both hate Maria. I can never tell who’s who. Does anyone else have this issue?

Joey and Kelsey T. join Cirque de Soleil

The next day is Kelsey T’s one-on-one date with Joey. She’s very nervous. Joey and Kelsey are going to be training with the Cirque de Soleil. Very cool! They walk into a room where a woman is practicing with an aerial hoop. The stunts they learn look totally fun, and they’re having a good time together. But poor Joey is getting dizzy and sick.

When Joey and Kelsey move on to the evening portion of the date, Kelsey voiceovers that she’s really happy and could see herself with Joey. When they sit down, Kelsey admits, “I do have feelings, and they’re deepening.” She mentions that with hometowns coming up, she wants him to know that she hasn’t always had the best relationship with her family, especially her dad.

“We were really close growing up,” Kelsey says. Then, “he stopped talking to me for a while. For a very long time.” Apparently, her dad wanted her to focus on their religion, but in her heart, “I knew it wasn’t where I wanted to be.”

He didn’t support her decision to go to college, and because she didn’t practice his religion, she wasn’t allowed to live in his house anymore. She went to live with her mom, and she and her dad stopped talking. That’s f*cked up. Your mom and dad should be there for you no matter what.

Her relationship with her dad has affected Kelsey’s trust in relationships. Things are better with him now, but it’s hard to trust him.

But Kelsey feels like Joey understands, and that means a lot. He offers her the rose, and she accepts it.

Maria’s princess date

A man comes into the room asking for Maria. “Monsieur Joey awaits your presence,” he says.

Downstairs, Joey stands next to a vintage white stretch limo. In the car, Maria tries to get Joey to speak French, telling him to say, “Voulez vous coucher avec moi? [Do you want to sleep with me?]” He thinks she’s trying to teach him dirty words, but he’s totally entertained. He never knows what she’ll do or say next.

Their first stop is a boutique called “Claudette,” and Claudette says that Joey has arranged for Maria to choose a special gown for a special date. “Today is all about you.”

Joey helps choose her dress, and she says, “I feel like a princess. I feel so beautiful and elegant.”

Back in the car, Maria tells Joey, “Say ‘je t’aime,’” and he says it. She gasps because she got him to say “I love you” in French. “That’s so nice,” she says, kissing him on the cheek. “Thank you!”

“What does it mean?” Joey asks.

She just says, “Merci.”

When they pull up to a helicopter, Maria asks nervously, “We’re not jumping out, are we?” But he assures her they’re not jumping. They drink champagne and fly over the city. “I’ve never seen Montréal this way,” Maria says. “It’s so beautiful!”

That evening, they head into a theater with a marquis that reads, “Je ressens tout,” which loosely translates, “I have all the feels.”

When Joey asks Maria how she’s feeling, she admits, “I feel so happy when I’m with you, and I love every moment.”

“You make me happy, too,” Joey responds. Finally, he picks offers her the rose, and she accepts.

An unexpected goodbye

Back at the hotel, Lexi is worried about the conversation she had with Joey on the group date. He said he sees a two to three-year engagement and then wants to be married for at least a couple of years before starting a family. Lexi’s concerned because of her endometriosis. It may be difficult for her to get pregnant, so she doesn’t want to wait. She needs to talk to Joey.

“I have a pit in my stomach,” she says. She has a connection with Joey, but isn’t sure they’re on the same page about having children. Lexi’s body is a ticking clock.

She goes to Joey’s room and knocks. When he answers, she says she just needs to chat for a second.

“I know you want a long engagement,” she says. “And that you want to take some time before kids … but that’s not something that I have the privilege to do … with my health situation.”

When they were in Malta, she opened up to Joey. It was the first time she’d shared with anyone about her health. But as someone in her 30s with her health issues, having a family is going to be a higher priority than Joey’s ready for.

“I think it would be unfair to keep me here,” she continues, “when I’m just on a different timeline.”

He was hoping they could work things out, but Joey realizes that Lexi needs to persue her dream. “You’re going to get everything you want,” he says. “You’re gonna make a remarkable mother.”

I’m shocked. Lexi was one of my frontrunners from the start. Joey’s “crushed … It doesn’t feel right to let someone that special just walk out.”

The Rose Ceremony

Now that someone Joey saw a future with has left, he’s scared others might follow. “It doesn’t feel good,” he says.

Daisy gets Joey to give her a foot massage. That’s bold. Joey’s never given anyone a foot massage before. Daisy warns him, “I like it multiple times a night, and I prefer it hard.” Hmmm, are we still talking about feet? Joey is charmed and says he has “zero doubts that any time he sees Daisy, she’s going to make me feel special. It reminds me why I’m here.”

Once Joey’s had his ego restored by several women, Jesse enters with his clinking glass (of Doom). Finally! I was afraid we would run out of time.

As they take their places, someone notices there are only three roses on the podium. Yikes! That means two women are leaving tonight. Out of 10 women, three already have roses, Jess was let go, Lexi left voluntarily, and three will get one, so that’s two leaving.

Roses go to Daisy, Kelsey A., and Rachel. Goodbye, Katelyn and Lea. Good! Now I won’t have to figure out which is Lea and which is Jenn.

When Jesse tells the two ejectees to “take a moment and say your goodbyes,” ironically, Lea turns to hug Maria. Doesn’t she hate Maria?

Don’t cry, ladies. There’s always Bachelor in Paradise.

Raising his glass to the remaining six women, Joey announces, “I don’t think I’ve seen enough of Canada quite yet. We are going to Jaspar [Alberta].”

See you next week in Jaspar, eh?

The Bachelor Season 28 airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.

Sutton Stracke Discusses Her Love for Assistant Avi

Sutton Stracke with her assistant Avi on Watch What Happens Live
Photo by: Charles Sykes/Bravo via Getty Images

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Sutton Stracke has had a rollercoaster ride of a season. She was very open about the loss of her father, marriage, and her best friend, Merce Cunningham. On a lighter note, Sutton also went on several quirky dates trying to find her match. But her true match has been by her side all along. And that is her CEO/Head of Operations/assistant, Avi!

Avi is Sutton’s better half

On the RHOBH After Show, Sutton sat down with Garcelle Beauvais to dish on her playful relationship with her assistant, Avi. Sutton said, “It’s like a weigh-in. Every day he’s like, on the scale!” Garcelle couldn’t believe that happened, but Sutton admitted he did do that sometimes. She added that when she goes home, Avi will stare at her with a judgemental, “Hmmm.”

Garcelle shared the sentiment of the audience and said, “We love Avi!” Sutton laughed, “Avi is so mean to me!” But she turned it right back around and shared that she and Avi “love each other so much.” Aww.

And Garcelle knew the secret sauce to making their relationship work. She said, “He’s perfect for you because he also talks back.” Sutton agreed, “Oh my gosh, he talks back all the time.” Good banter is the key to making any relationship work!

Avi’s clapback’s were on full display during one of Sutton’s confessionals. Sutton explained that Avi was her assistant, and he jumped right in to correct her. Avi added, “Property manager, Head of Operations, Mr. Everything!” These two need a spinoff, stat.

They even went toe to toe right before filming the After Show. When Avi tried to fix Sutton’s dress, she snapped, “You don’t work in costume.” Avi didn’t miss a beat. He retorted, “But I know perfection.” We should all be so lucky to have someone like Avi!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 finale airs Wednesday, February 21 at 8/7c on Bravo.

Porsha Williams’ Most Memorable Moments on RHOA

Porsha Williams

Since the moment Porsha Williams left the Real Housewives of Atlanta two years ago, viewers have been wishing for her return, stopping short of offering their firstborn to the Bravo gods. Porsha first grabbed her peach as newlywed to former NFL star Kordell Stewart. But their marriage didn’t last long once she realized she didn’t just want to be a stay-at-home housewife. The girls initially gave her a hard time, but eventually, Porsha grew into the role.

Throughout her time on the RHOA, fans saw Porsha blossom from a wife to a fiancé to a mother. Her breakup from Kordell was intense. Porsha realized she would now have to be financially responsible, but she eventually got the hang of it. Above everything else, Porsha’s made-for-TV moments have lasted and are now in the clubhouse vault. Let’s take a look at some of my favorites.

The Reunion From Hell

Thethrowbackqueen/YouTube

The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 8 reunion was straight out of hell, or what I imagined it would be if I was surrounded by squabbling housewives. Kenya Moore and Porsha were not on the best of terms, but instead of being adults and just ignoring one another, they always upped the game by seeing who would explode first. It turns out that this time, it was Porsha. The drama was bonkers, and I am still letting the altercation live rent-free in my head.

Kenya and Porsha were separated, but the use of props really helped to ignite this fight. The three-part reunion showed Porsha lose her cool after a bullhorn and a scepter were thrust into her personal bubble by the beauty queen. After what looked like a fairy godmother wave of the scepter, Porsha snatched the stick and threw it away. However, Kenya was just warming up. She then proceeded to pull out a bullhorn and yell, “You’re a dumb ho.”

The sticks and stones rules never seem to resonate with any of the housewives as Porsha lept forward, ending up on the floor and then being dragged off stage. The physicality was brutal but a true Porsha moment none the less.

Real vs. Fake Train

Thethrowbackqueen/YouTube

I’ve never felt that the American education system was the best in the world, but Porsha’s gaff really proved to me that we may need summer school. In 2013, the Real Housewives of Atlanta took a cast trip to Savannah, Georgia. They stayed in a beautiful (semi-haunted) mansion, toured the town in a carriage, and even got to visit one of the oldest Baptist churches. While there, the ladies also took part in the Freedom Trail Tour. The aforementioned church was one of the stops on the Underground Railroad, which took place during the pre-Civil War era.

The tour guide, who hopefully got a huge tip, explained that the holes in the floor were used for ventilation as slaves would pass under the church in a small four-foot crawl space. The explanation confused Porsha, who evidently was under the impression that the underground railroad was, in fact, a real train. Porsha famously noted, “Well, there has to be an opening for the railroad at some point because somebody’s driving the train. It’s not electric, like what we have now.”

The ladies and tour guide were all left perplexed by the statement, and rightfully so. Phaedra Parks thankfully stepped in to clear up any confusion, telling her friend, “It wasn’t a train, baby. That’s just a euphemism.” Bless Porsha, who noted, “Oh, I’m thinking it was like widespread.”

Porsha The Party Pooper

Thethrowbackqueen/YouTube

Before Sutton Stracke refused to sit through a tortuous Magic Mike performance, there was Porsha. Just months out of saying her vows to Kordell, the women were all excited for a night out on the town. The first stop is a strip club. NeNe Leakes, who sued to be a dancer, didn’t think anyone would have a problem with their final destination, but it turns out the sweet, young, and possibly gaslit Porsha did. She timidly noted she wouldn’t be taking part in the festivities because she didn’t want to disrespect her husband.

Even though most of the women mocked her choice, claiming her husband probably wouldn’t be so thoughtful, Porsha stuck to her morals. I have to say I appreciated seeing Porsha stand up for what she believed in. As her time on the Real Housewives of Atlanta came to a close, she really had grown into a true resistance fighter, and I liked that about her.

The Traitors Season 2: Parvati on ‘Dramatic’ Dispute With Phaedra

Parvati Shallow for The Traitors Season 2
Photo by: Randy Shropshire/Peacock via Getty Images

For any fan of The Traitors, you know that at some point, the titular killers may turn on each other to advance their games, and that’s what Parvati Shallow attempted to do in Episode 4. However, it didn’t go over as she planned.

The Survivor winner threw her co-star, Phaedra Parks, under the bus during the night’s roundtable discussion as a possible Traitor. Luckily for Phae, who is no novice to interpersonal conflict, she fired back, ultimately protecting herself and a few others.

When the Traitors met for the night to discuss the day’s event, Phaedra slammed Parvati, saying, “No one likes you … everybody says you’re a Traitor,” taking Parvati and their third Traitor, Dan Gheesling, by surprise. So, what did Parv think of their falling out?

Parvati didn’t know if Phaedra was actually upset with her…

Phaedra Parks in The Traitors Season 2

In an interview with Hollywood Life, Parvati spoke about her banishment and brief feud with The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Phaedra after their tense moment in the castle. “I was like, ‘Oh, I think she’s really mad,’” she said.

“Cause Phaedra is a really good actor. She’s like, ‘I’m not an actor.’ Like, we all know you’re an actor — and you’re really good at it! Own that. But she was in character the entire time, even in the turret. So I couldn’t break her.”

Is Phaedra an actor? I must have missed that memo.

Anyway, Parv continued, sharing that their fight was “dramatic,” which caused Dirty Dan (as Phae likes to call him) much distress. “Dan was so freaked out and stunned. It was a back and forth between Phaedra and I for maybe a few minutes,” she said.

“I was like, ‘Okay, I gotta let her know that she’s safe. I have to just field this attack and not react to it and diffuse this.’ I’m very good at that anyways. It’s like water off my back. She can say nobody likes me, but that’s just how she handles conflict. It’s personal attacks. And I know people like that.”

Well, it may have been a personal attack. But it’s one that seemed provably true in Scotland. Hehe.

Despite their beef, the now-banished Traitor and Phaedra are in a much better place today. “I don’t hold it against her; she didn’t hold it against me, and we moved forward. I think that’s sort of the Housewives way,” she said.

Stream new episodes of The Traitors on Peacock on Thursdays at 9/8c.

Love Is Blind Season 6: AD Discusses Matthew’s Pod Betrayal

AD Smith on Love Is Blind Season 6

Love is Blind Season 6 has already delivered on the drama with just its first batch of episodes. Things got crazy with Amber Desiree “AD” Smith and her initial flame, Matthew Duliba. Before reading on, be advised: spoilers will follow.

Inside the pods, Matthew was having a bit of an awkward time with his potential partners. But after spending some time with AD, he began to come out of his shell. The two were hitting it off extremely well.

That is until AD spoke with Amber Grant. As it turned out, Matthew was also romancing Amber, using almost the same words he used with AD. With the show’s filming long since over, AD revealed that she’s since spoken with Matthew. See her details of the conversation below.

AD says she and Matthew “moved on”

On February 14, PEOPLE released their conversation with AD about her ongoing retrospective on Season 6. “I have zero regrets on my little love triangle,” she revealed. “I think I did the best and I made the best decisions I could in that moment.” A viewer has to admire that confidence, especially after the fact.

When it comes to Duliba, AD revealed the two had spoken since Love Is Blind. “I did have a few conversations with Matthew,” she shared. “It went well. Matthew’s got a very interesting way of getting his point across. And so, I didn’t push, I didn’t pull anything out of him. He said what he wanted to say, and we had our conversation, and we moved on.”

As for whether Matthew and Amber have reconnected since filming ended, no one can say just yet. Perhaps the two will reveal such in their own time. AD, on the other hand, is still happily engaged to Clay Gravesande. The two are enjoying their time in Punta Cana with plans to soon return to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Love Is Blind Season 6, Episodes 1-6 are currently streaming on Netflix. Episodes 7-9 will hit Netflix on Wednesday, February 21.

Southern Hospitality Season 2 Reunion Looks Revealed

Leva Bonaparte on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen
Photo by: Charles Sykes/Bravo via Getty Images

On February 15, Bravo released the trailer for the Southern Hospitality Season 2 reunion. It’s almost hard to believe that Leva Bonaparte’s spinoff has reached the end of its second season. Nevertheless, here we are.

The trailer featured all 11 cast members sharing two couches with Andy Cohen in between. With a cast this wide and a season so chaotic, this reunion is bound to serve up some memorable moments for fans.

But even non-fans would have to admit there are still some serves to be had at this reunion. Just a day before the trailer dropped, Bravo revealed the cast members’ looks going into their heated confrontations.

Southern Hospitality reunion looks channel “mob wives”

On Valentine’s Day, Bravo revealed the stunning outfits that the Southern Hospitality cast showed up in to film their reunion. Bravo described the looks as channeling “mob wives” “golden” goddesses, and a Migos track. The cast truly went all out with each of their unique visual flares.

First, Leva Bonaparte wore a shining, form-fitting turquoise dress, with thin shoulder straps and her hair as curly as ever. Mia Alario wore a yellow dress with white palm leaf designs and a chest window that rounded up into a collar around her neck. Joe Bradley sported white pants and shoes with a very light pink shirt and blazer.

Bradley Carter, on the opposite end of the spectrum from Joe, wore all black, with what appeared to be a leafy pattern on his jacket, along with a pink pocket square. TJ Dinch was in a brownish-gray suit, a white shirt underneath, and white sneakers. Will Kulp sported a similar pair of shoes but with a dark blue seemingly velvet suit with a white button-up shirt and no tie.

Next up, Grace Lilly sported a pink dress that was very early 2000s prom, complete with frills, a flower where the chest met the shoulder strap, and a short train. Oisin O’Neill sported his white suit with his hair down, also showing off a gold watch, black shoes, pink shirt, and brown pocket square. Lucía Peña sported a gold dress with a high leg slit and her hair all to one side.

Maddi Reese wore a shining blue sequin dress tied at the chest. Lastly, Emmy Sharrett sported her hair up, wearing a long black dress with an open diamond pattern over the torso.

The Southern Hospitality Season 2 reunion will air on Bravo on Thursday, February 22, at 9/8c.
