Cary Deuber Says Dallas Housewives Are “Fighting For The Sake Of Fighting”
During the earlier episodes from Real Housewives of Dallas Season 3, it seemed like Cary Deuber was channeling her inner Sheree Whitfield as the bone collector of the Lone Star State. She was on an “honesty kick” which included telling the Dallas Housewives what was said behind her back.
Eventually that truth telling streak came to and end after a conversation with Stephanie Hollman. She agreed to just be “honest” about her own feelings instead of conveying what was said by the other Housewives. Now she is the Switzerland of the cast and the perfect neutral party to invite the rest of the ladies to Copenhagen, Denmark- although, we all know that production really “planned” this trip.
Cary did not name names during her last Bravo blog entry. Again, she has become the Switzerland of the cast, but she did address some of the major storylines of Season 3. She opened with, “Welcome back to another alcohol-fueled week.” This clearly alludes to the triangle of alcoholism accusations between LeeAnne Locken, Brandi Redmond, and D’Andra Simmons.
Cary continued, “Seriously, enough is enough. All of these girls like their cocktails, all of these girls all function perfectly effectively in their daily lives and meet all of their individual responsibilities. To me, that means that not one of them is an alcoholic.” THANK YOU, CARY. This storyline is ridiculous, malicious, and possibly harmful to everyone involved. Using the word “alcoholic” is a very big deal.
Cary spoke the truth: “At this point, it’s obvious that people are just getting really pissed at each other. It’s like you forget the logic of the fight and are just fighting for the sake of fighting and winning or destroying the other person.” Of course they are. Every one of these women wants to get asked back if Real Housewives of Dallas makes it to Season 4.

Cary declared, “You can always choose to focus on the bad, but it’s so much better and more productive to focus on the good.” That is a great sentiment for real life, but not so much for reality television. There are very few reality shows that “focus on the good.” Or at least there are very few that people are actually watching those shows.
Cary concluded, “So, I really hope these girls can calm down about their silly war. This trip means the world to me. I really hope to share it with people who can be positive about it too. I am ready to settle into my happy place in a sleeper seat and have that glass of champagne.”
Everyone knows that a Real Housewives cast trip (usually) means an increase in the drama. Sorry, Cary. At the very least, it should be good for ratings and increased interactions on social media.

Teen Mom OG Recap: Back to Square One
Last night’s episode of Teen Mom OG, how many more times will we witness the fall of Ryan Edwards? Not to sound insensitive, but this man really is in need of help and some tough love from his family and friends. I know we all are taught to love our family unconditionally, but his parents need to give him a good kick in the behind and cut the apron strings. Newsflash…YOU ARE NOT HELPING HIM!
Ryan has checked himself in to a 90 day intensive rehabilitation treatment. Of course, his mom, dad and wife get on camera to enable him and make it seem like he has finally realized the error of his ways. Turns out, he will miss the birth of the child with his wife because of the program. Jen and Larry decide that they will talk to Bentley about his dad being in rehab to spin the story give their perspective before anyone else a.k.a Maci. Translation- they don’t want anyone making their precious child looking bad. I’m sorry Jen and Larry; I appreciate how much you love your grandchild but you are really overstepping your bounds as grandparents. All of these talks with Bentley in an effort to brainwash a child, without talking to their parents first is wrong. How do you tell a child his dad is still on drugs and going to rehab before telling the mother, so she is prepared to answer questions and hold her son at night when he cries. This is just getting ridiculous, now when Maci starts restricting their access don’t say I didn’t warn you…smh
Bentley is starting the fourth grade, to solidify his coming of age he declines being walked to class for the first time. Taylor and Maci talk about how Ryan hasn’t reached out to Bentley in a while and she has essentially given up hope he will be a better communicator.
It’s Carly’s 9th birthday and Tyler and Catelynn celebrate the birth of their first born child with cake and ice cream. Nova is going through a stage where she only wants her mommy. She has a full out tantrum when Tyler tries to give her a bath because he wasn’t Catelynn. Tyler is confused as to whether to fight the battle or just to let her have her way during this phase. I’m no therapist but Nova may have some abandonment issues due to her mom’s stints in rehab and her depression. This may be her way of making sure her mom isn’t going to leave again. The whole situation is sad, they went through so much at a young age and giving their child up for adoption, I just want them to be well and to cherish Nova now that they have her.
Catelynn tries to reach out to Brandon and Teresa, Carly’s adoptive parents to arrange a visit for her birthday. Of course, they deny the request and there is a back and forth and Teresa basically shuts down any further discussion. It must be very hard to have an open adoption, on one hand you can possibly visit or receive pictures but on the other hand you are at the mercy of the adoptive parents and have no control of the situation. For years they have battled to be in Carly’s life, but it just seems like the adoptive parents don’t want them too involved in their daughter’s life. I can see both sides, as the birth parents they probably feel they should have certain allowances. But I can also understand as the adoptive parents, you need you child not be confused and question your authority. I’m not sure who is right, but in the meantime Tyler and Catelynn may need to shower Nova with some extra love and attention.
Tyler and Catelynn meet with their adoption counselor, Dawn to talk about how they may be able to have a better relationship with the adoptive parents. Tyler, per usual, seems like he is more realistic and has adjusted his expectations. Dawn advises them to just ask about Carly rather than just contacting them when they want something. Which I guess makes sense, I’m sure they get tired of someone demanding to see a child they essentially gave up. She also presents Catelynn with a bracelet with all of her kid’s birthstones, which include Carly, Nova and the baby she miscarried. I’m not sure this is the best type of gift for someone with Catelynn’s issues who easily can be triggered by things that remind her of the difficult times in her life, especially in regards to her pregnancies.
Bristol has closed on a new house and preparing to settle in when she finds out about a break-in at Dakota’s house. As if this family didn’t have enough issues, apparently they have a stalker who has been harassing their family since Sarah Palin ran for office. The stalker has set his sights on Bristol and her family and broke into Dakota’s house in Kentucky. Out of fear she decides to take self-defense classes to be able to defend herself in case the stalker comes back since she now will be alone with the kids. Dakota and Bristol have another face time death match argument about who actually cares more about the children’s safety. I honestly hope her kids have not had to witness all of these arguments, I am an adult under the influence of wine and popcorn and even I feel drained after these two go round for round. Ughhhh.. poor kiddos.
Zach comes over to Cheyenne’s house to talk and apologize for their fight. He wants to work on their relationship but she is still confused and mad. Why does it seem like she wants to hold this fight over his head longer than she allowed him to be mad about her actually cheating and producing a child as a result.
Cory drops off baby Ryder and of course he comes in and just makes himself comfortable until Cheyenne tells him her and Zach have made up. Of course, Cory is disappointed and wants to make sure he isn’t living there again a.k.a. projecting his insecurities about him not being in the home with his daughter while another man is.
Gary’s wife Christina had pains in her side and found out she actually was pregnant. But because the fetus is implanted outside of her uterus, her pregnancy had to be terminated. This was very sad to watch, I hope Christina finds some peace after going through such a difficult situation. Amber comes to visit Leah and Gary basically just blurts out about Christina’s miscarriage as if they were talking about dinner, which I found weird. Maybe he is just handling the miscarriage in his own way
Gary has decided to undergo a vasectomy to prevent another miscarriage in the future. Christina has her tubes tied and it’s possible she could have another tubal pregnancy, if he doesn’t have the surgery. Amber reveals that she and Matt had a miscarriage while they were together and it caused her to be depressed so she understands how Christina may feel.
I can’t wait to tune in next week to see when the real OG’s of Teen Mom meet the newbies, Bristol and Cheyenne!

New Below Deck Tonight: Captain Lee Frustrated With Chandler & Rest Of The Deck Crew
Technically speaking, the crew on this season of Below Deck is very competent. There are hardly any “green” crew members, like in years past. Even so, that doesn’t mean that there’s less drama. In fact, there’s more drama within the crew and it’s probably because everyone thinks that they know what they’re talking about and refuses to take direction.
In a preview for tonight’s episode, Captain Lee Rosbach tells Bosun Chandler Brooks, “You know how I hate babysitting. And that’s what I’m doing with you right now.” Does that means Chandler is going to get the ax at some point this season? During the last episode, Chandler tried to persuade Captain Lee to fire deckhand Rhylee Gerber, but I have my money on Chandler getting a pink slip before that would ever happen.
Chief Stew Kate Chastain organizes a “half-underwater lunch” which looks cool, but then it starts pouring rain, Captain Lee tries to get in touch with every member of the deck team on the radio, but that seems to be a very difficult task. What’s the point of having a radio if you’re not going to answer it? Not only that, but I just can’t believe anyone would have the nerve to ignore Captain Lee. These people need to bow down if anything.

In other news, it looks like two charter guests will be hooking up in a very public area of the boat. Plus, they do know this trip was filmed for a reality TV show, right? That makes the rendezvous especially public, but maybe that’s what they were going for? In a clip for the episode, stew Caroline Bedol remarked, “I don’t know but it was probably a blowie or something.”
According to an episode description on the Bravo website, this is a summary of what we can expect from tonight’s episode: “As Chandler’s decision making frustrates the deck crew, Rhylee and Ashton [Pienaar] grow desperate for a change of bosun. The charter guests overcome their fears by swimming with some scary ocean predators. Later, as Ashton makes a move on Rhylee after a wild night, Kate tells Caroline her foot needs to heal or she’ll have to go home. When the mistakes keep piling up for Chandler, Captain Lee decides to confront him in a sit down.”
Does this mean that Captain Lee will fire Chandler? Tune in to Bravo tonight at 9 to see what happens during their sit down.

Stephanie Hollman Hopes LeeAnne Locken & D’Andra Simmons “Can Work It Out Before It’s Too Late”
Is LeeAnne Locken and D’Andra Simmons’ friendship over for good? At the beginning of Real Housewives of Dallas Season 3, it just seemed like the two were in the middle of a rough patch resulting from some miscommunications. Now it seems much worse than that.
D’Andra accused LeeAnne’s fiance Rich Emberlin of cheating on her and claimed that they “lived separate lives.” LeeAnne accused D’Andra of “drinking too much” and being drunk at charity events. D’Andra did not show up to shop for LeeAnne’s wedding dress shopping trip during the last episode, but she claims that she wasn’t invited until the night before. There is just so much confusion, missteps, and shade between these two. In D’Andra’s absence, Stephanie Hollman did show up to help LeeAnne shop, which is not something anyone would have expected after watching the first two seasons.
Stephanie shared her perspective on the LeeAnne vs. D’Andra drama in a recent Bravo blog post. She admitted, “While I loved that I was there for LeeAnne, I couldn’t help but think that D’Andra should have been there too. They have been friends for so many years, I hate that she is missing such a special moment.”

Stephanie explained why she could relate to the strain between the former besties, since she went through something similar last season with her own BFF Brandi Redmond– although it never got this bad. Stephanie wrote, “I get it, and I’ve been through it, but there are so many moments that I regret not sharing last year because of my fight with Brandi, and I hope these two can work it out before it’s too late.” That seems very unlikely at this point, but Housewives have made up after way worse fallouts over the years.
For now, it just seems like it’s only going to get worse between D’Andra and LeeAnne before it can ever get better. Stephanie wrote, “Off to Copenhagen, we go! Yes, Brandi, Cary [Deuber], Kameron [Westcott], and myself were the divas of the bunch because we upgraded ourselves…” Will D’Andra and LeeAnne use their twelve hours in coach seating to resolve their differences? Probably not. If anything, they’re bound to be even more irritable after the long travel, jet lag, and a season full of shady tension.
Stephanie concluded, “Tune in next week for part one of our Copenhagen trip! Doesn’t it look like fun? I’ll go ahead and take that tequila shot and hug now, please!” Any time, Stephanie. As your friend in my head, I would give you a tequila shot and a hug whenever “needed.”

Vicki Gunvalson Says Gina Kirschenheiter Is A Pot Stirrer “Trying To Make Her Mark”
Is Gina Kirschenheiter a pot stirrer or is she just calling it like she sees it on Real Housewives of Orange County? Vicki Gunvalson thinks the newest Housewife is trying to “make a mark” on the show; i.e. she thinks Gina wants to get asked back for a second season.
During the last episode of Real Housewives of Orange County, Gina went to Shannon Beador, while Shannon was recovering from plastic surgery, to let her know what Tamra Judge said behind her back. That definitely wasn’t the best timing. Not only that, but Gina went to bat for Tamra during the cast trip in Jamaica when she called out Shannon for being a “bad friend” to Tamra. Whose side is she on? It’s a little confusing, but Vicki is convinced that Gina is #TeamGina, meaning that she is just looking out for her (possible) future as a Real Housewife.
During last night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen took a cue from Gina stirred the pot when he played a clip of Kelly Dodd during the WWHL after show where he asked Kelly who would be her first patient if she was a shrink.
Vicki Gunvalson is the horniest person that Heather Dubrow has ever met!
Kelly answered, “I would say that Vicki Gunvalson needs to go see a shrink.” She even said Vicki is a “sociopath” and claimed she “doesn’t have any empathy for people.” Vicki reacted to the clip by saying it was “pretty aggressive.” In all honesty, that’s actually pretty calm on the Kelly Dodd scale of insults.
Andy picked up the spoon and told Vicki, “She was all over you.” Vicki responded, “She knows me. That was just rude.” Andy theorized, “I think she’s probably still smarting after the reunion.” That seemed like a logical conclusion, but Vicki was pretty perplexed. She shared, “We were fine. We went to dinner afterwards. I showed her all the text messages from her ex-husband.” What did she mean by that last part? Hopefully we find out when those reunion episodes air. Most likely, it has something to do with that double date dispute during the beginning of the season.

Then the conversation jumped to the Tamra vs. Gina drama. Of course Vicki said that she was “absolutely on Tamra’s side because there was no reason that Gina did that at Shannon’s place while she’s recovering.” It really was insensitive timing, no matter what Gina’s intentions were. She could have waited a day or two to carry that bone to Shannon.
A caller asked Vicki “Do you think that Gina is the new pot stirrer of the OC or was she being genuine?” The OG of the OC declared, “I think she’s stirring the pot. I do, I like Gina, but I definitely feel like there were many, many times when she didn’t have to say what she did. So I think that she’s trying to make her mark a little bit.”
Andy got Vicki riled up with this statement: “Ramona Singer argues that the New York Housewives put Bravo and the Real Housewives on the map.” Vicki clapped back with “Oh no she just didn’t. I got to adjust my crown. I started it fourteen years ago.” Let’s get them both in the the Bravo Clubhouse to debate this hot button issue.

Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant Recap: Did Kayla Finally Decide to Extend the Restraining Order on Stephan?
On last night’s episode of Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant, Ashley Jones found a full-time job as an administrative assistant so she and Bar can save money to move to Atlanta. Ashley talks about how she likes working because she’s not a teen mom there, she’s just Ashley. She talks about how everything is going well for them, except for her relationship with Bar’s mom. She’s thinking about how to make things right between them. She thinks it’s important for them to be on the same page since she’s Holly’s grandma.
Jade Cline talks about how she and Sean have been co-parenting the baby without drama for a few weeks now. She tells him that she’s happy they can try to be friends again. She says how being friends will help co-parenting. Jade tells him that what they were doing wasn’t working so they need a pact to put the past in the past and be friends. He says he just wants them all to be happy.
Everyone just wants to put the past behind them and be happy, but who can really make that happen?
Kayla Sessler and Annabel and their friend Devynn meet at the bakery and Kayla needs to decide if she’s going to continue the restraining order on Stephan. Kayla tells them that there are no charges being filed against Stephan. She says if Stephan doesn’t get help she’s nervous about him being around Izaiah. She is thinking about extending the restraining order but wants to do what’s best for Izaiah and wonders if him not seeing the baby is what’s best for Izaiah.
Lexi Tatman tells Kyler that she misplaced the ring that he gave her. He tells her that if she leaves him alone on Friday (no texting, calling or coming by the house) he’ll get her a new one. He claims it’s a test to see how clingy she is. Suspicious much? We’ll have to see. Lexi first says no, but accepts the challenge.
Brianna Jaramillo’s mom found a job and the clan was finally able to move into their own place. Brianna hasn’t had a job though so she’s applying for benefits. She talks the story about how she had a one-time rebound hook-up with her son Braeson’s birth father, who then denied the baby and wanted nothing to do with her.
When Jade woke up Khloe was covered in little bumps, she called Sean who came over and asked him if he wanted to go to the doctor with her. He said “Of course I do.” After being at the doctor for an hour, they find out she has a hand, mouth and foot virus. Jade tells Sean she likes being out with him and doing stuff together.
Bar’s mom stops by to see the baby and tells Ashley that it’s the first time they talked. They both talk about how it was wrong and how they need it to be right with Holly. They all agree to move on, but we’ll see if it holds up. The shocked, but happy, look on Bar’s face when they hug is priceless.
Stephan tells the camera claims he’s taking responsibility for what he’s done. He’s on the phone with Annette, his mother, and tells her what he’s done and about the order of protection. She tells him to never disrespect a woman like that again. She tells him “Only God can help you now.”
Lexi is at the store and it’s the day of her “test.” Amber, Lexi’s mom, said that this deal is completely messed up. She says that she’s doing it to show that he’s not the way she was at 14. Amber tells Lexi that if someone said that to her that she would be loved forever, she would tell him to leave and that Lexi is being walked on for a relationship. It’s also setting the stage for the relationship in the future. Thank you, Amber, for speaking what we’re all thinking!
Chloie is still sick so Sean watches her so Jade can have lunch with her friend Lauren about them moving in together. When pressed about whether or not Sean and Jade are sleeping together when Sean sleeps over, Jade avoids the question. Jade says that she has no desire to move Sean in and that right now co-parenting is most important.
Brianna talks to her mom about applying for benefits and she wonders if they are going to reach out to find him. The services department are going to search for him for possible, but Brianna says that he close to run from this and he’ll run again. Her mom thinks they should tell his parents, but Brianna thinks no. She says it’s not her job because she already had more stress about telling her family she’s not going to go through the stress of telling his family.
At Ashley’s house, Bar’s mom took Holly for the night to bond with her and give Bar and Ashley some time alone. They talk about how good it went and Ashley says she doesn’t want Holly to grow up with that kind of stress around her. Ashley says she’s skeptical on how long it will last, but will try. That’s okay Ashley, we’re all skeptical.
At Kayla’s house, she’s talking to her mom Jaime and they talk about her court date. Kayla talks about she unsure about extending the order and Jaime is concerned about what Stephan can do without it. Jaime stresses her concern about Kayla’s safety and that if she drops the order she’ll go back to letting Stephan see Izaiah anytime he wants.
Next, we see Lexi and Kyler together and when she asks where they are going, he says “Does it matter?” What a mouth on him. Lexi claims she sticks up for herself and tells Kyler that she doesn’t like that they did the pact. They talk about how they love each other. Forget the pact. She’s just happy she got the ring. Wonder what he’ll demand that she do next?
Brianna might have a job but it doesn’t start for a few weeks so she’s stressed. She talks to Robert about what her mother said about finding Braeson’s biological grandparents. Robert tells Brianna to reach out to him and she’s shocked, but he says it is more for Braeson. Brianna is mad that Robert said that because she feels she doesn’t owe the biological father anything.

Real Housewives Of Orange County Recap: Bruised Friendships
Ugh, I am tired of talking about Shannon Beador! It’s literally the only topic of conversation on Real Housewives Of Orange County and to be honest, Shannon and her histrionic meltdowns are just not that exciting after 4 seasons of watching them. The other big thing that happened was that Vicki Gunvalson altered her face again, so woohoo! At this point how does TSA even verify her identity???
This time Vicki is having her jaw lifted so she doesn’t have saggy chinskin being that she’s in denial about looking like the grandmother she is. And also because according to Gina KirschenDOstopspeaking the second you walk through the gates of Coto you sign your life away to Botox. And probably Vicki has done so much of it, she’s now immune.
Steve is obviously tired of Vicki’s fascinating life as a plastic surgery guinea pig and suggests that this be her last nip and tuck. Especially since Vicki has been dealing with an inner ear tumor since childhood and has had countless surgeries … which she didn’t tell her plastic surgeon about.
What type of person is about to go under anesthesia but doesn’t tell their doctor about a serious lifelong medical condition? I also love that just to quell the I DID NOT FAKE AN INNER EAR TUMOR I AM NOT A CROOK reaction Vicki released photographic proof of her ear issue. Either that or her plastic surgery addiction started before the dawn of color photography? Is Vicki actually 125 but has had so many procedures she looks an immature 50ish?
Furthermore, Steve was way too calm about the prospect of Vicki not informing her doctor. He was probably thinking Woo HOO! You know Vicki has life insurance! I hope she left me the key to Coto in her will so I don’t have to move back in with my mommy.
Another indicator that you’ve had way too much plastic surgery – nonchalantly joking about your will in the waiting room and whining that dying would be such a hassle because LIFE INSURANCE POLICIES DON’T SELL THEMSELVES. “I do want to be resuscitated if I die,” Vicki declares, “I have a lot of things to do this week.”
Then, because this is the facelift that never ends, just before going under the knife Vicki gets a steroid injection which gives her the ‘Hoo-hah buzz’ “It feels like there’s a blowtorch in my crotch!” she shrieks. I can’t tell if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but I hope she and Steve aren’t trying to replicate this feeling at home!
Vicki emerges from surgery looking like a Q-Tip but remembering her gasoline hoo-hah tells Steve she has no panties on. Then she goes to a hotel with a giant scarf over her face, reminiscent of last year’s bathrobe evacuation in Iceland. Um, if you don’t want anyone to see you post-op, perhaps don’t get plastic surgery on reality TV?!
Steve is actually sweet and I really appreciated him this episode. Steve is probably the perfect person for Vicki after all. He validates her in all the ways she wants and needs, yet has enough reserve to not be too in the mix. Plus he has a sedative effect on Vicki. He takes her from WOO HOO to Woo hoooooome by 9:30pm and whooping it up only on the weekends (and girls trips and insurance trips and …).
Since Shannon and Vicki are now sharing a brain, Shannon is ALSO getting plastic surgery! I’m actually shocked they didn’t get hospital beds next to each other so they could whoop it up in post-op doing shots from hospital juice cups.
Shannon is doing plastic surgery lite by only having her eyelids tucked. She’ll have to get Feng Shui then consult her crystal lemons and get a tea leaf reading from her doula-puncturist and have Dr. Moon read her auras with his calisthenics cups before she goes full Gunvalson facelift. But this is a good start because without the excess skin hanging in her eyes when Shannon finally decides to start dating again she’ll be able to see whether or not the guy is a douche! Kelly Dodd, who takes Shannon to the hospital, thinks the eye lift will lead immediately to P in the V, with a lovely accompanying finger puppet illustration.
Shannon turns eyelet recovery into a treatise of how being divorced is devastating because no one understands that not having a partner leaves her plate full of nothing but empty carbs instead of cheese salmon! Now Shannon has to rely on her 16-year-old daughter to take care of her. I’m sure she’s making Sophie dial Tamra Judges‘s number at 2 am.
Tamra confesses to Eddie the dirty little secret of her stealthily taking Shannon’s frantic calls in the middle of the night. Then she blames Eddie’s heart problem on why their sex life has dried up. But really the guy is going through enough – does his wife really have to out his medication-induced erectile dysfunction on TV? Eddie warns Tamra that she needs to stop enabling Shannon… I feel like this convo was taped after the season wrapped because Tamra tells Eddie she feels bad for venting to her friends, instead of talking to Shannon directly. Hmmm….
Shane and Emily Simpson go to her therapist to find resolution about what to do with their remaining embryos. For this momentous event, Shane wears white socks with sneakers and a hooded sweatshirt with cargo shorts. He looks like a WARP Tour reject transported from 1997, as if trying to signify to the therapist “No way brah, am I ready for like more dad-hood and like emotional stuffs! Shayne’s World! Totally excellent!” (NOOOOT)
This is in bad taste. I shouldn’t be mocking Shane while Emily is sobbing with grief over having several miscarriages including losing twins at 4 months gestation. Heartbreaking. Truly heartbreaking and Emily’s sorrow is still so raw. Understandably so. When she lost the twins, the hospital gave her a box with mementos, but she’s never opened it and her therapist recommends this as the next step.
For some strange reason, this precious box is stored in the laundry room cabinet. Maybe out of sight out of mind is easier for Emily? When she finally looks inside she finds microscopic foot and hand prints from her babies as well as a condolence note from her grandmother. As Emily dries her tears she realizes opening this box was the right thing to do, but she still has no idea what to do with her embryos. “I still don’t feel like I have any closure. I think closure is just a bullshit term that people use that doesn’t really mean anything. But I think Shane is right – I have a lot to celebrate. I have three beautiful children now.” Shane, of course, had no emotions or response. Totally awesome!
Gina has moved into the casita. It’s Gina’s She-Sita, you guys! It’s essentially a studio apartment. But Gina has never lived a-lowne and she like maaaahrieeed Matt when she was too young so this is like going back to collidge for a few days when Matt can actually manage the hour-long drive from LA to OC to see the kids.
The very second Tamra’s son turns 18, to spite Simon, Tamra throws him a televised birthday party like “HA now that he’s a grown-up I can put him on Bravo and you can stop me!” Who’s the grownup? #RhetoricalQuestion This party was also a way for Tamra to show off what a stellar mother she was because Spencer has turned into such a great kid.
Spencer plans to become a psychologist. And proving that he’ll need it at the party, Tamra brags that her 18-year-old son has never had alcohol, and Tamra’s mom is aghast that Spencer plans to keep it that way. These people do realize the legal drinking age is 21, right? To her credit, Tamra seems to have no idea how Spencer came from her… ME EITHER.
One day post-op Shannon is ready for visitors to hear her complain about the agonizing process, and when Shannon removes the bandages she has two enormous black eyes.
Shannon and Gina’s relationship has sure progressed quickly! It went from Shannon barely acknowledging Gina’s existence, to Gina bringing her food post-surgery. Doesn’t Shannon have some frozen QVC meals she can reheat?! But Gina isn’t here bringing soup, she’s the bearer of bad news. That bad news being all the horrible things Tamra has been saying about Shannon behind her back. Like that Shannon is crazy and self-centered, and needy, possibly needs mental help, and is staying up all night crying and calling people. “Wow, perfect timing,” scoffs Shannon. “Lemme tell me what someone who just had eye surgery probably shouldn’t do: cry.” And for once I completely agree with Shannon’s assessment!
“It’s coming from a place of concern for Shannon,” Gina insists. Who also throws in that Tamra was only talking about Shannon out of her own concern. Um, Gina – you might want to look up the definition of the word “concern,” cause I’m concerned that you don’t know what it means!
Don’t you just love Kelly in this scene? After she’s the one who tells Shannon that Tamra is talking shit (while never fessing up to doing it herself), she just sits back and lets Gina do the dirty work. There she is, in her 80’s private school girl costume, arms crossed as she twists her head back and forth between Shannon and Gina; accessing the damage and also kind of realizing that she’s live-time watching Gina destroy herself. The moral, according to Kelly, is stand-back from the co-dependent crazies! “For Gina to even get involved… it’s like not going to win, girl!”
Aaaaaand, of course, the very second Gina is out the door, Shannon calls Tamra to cry/whine/rant/complain/vent/seek reassurance. Didn’t Eddie mention something about how he was proud of Tamra for putting her broken foot down?
Aaaaand coincidentally Tamra gets this call right as she’s preparing to meet Gina, Kelly, and Emily for drinks. This time Kelly is dressed up like a character from Grease. Before she even sits down Gina realizes something is very wrong and that Shannon has turned her ‘concerned chat’ into a cause for alarm. Although Gina says Shannon also called her to cry that she could lose custody over whatever allegations the other women are making.
Because Tamra has everything to hide and has to do preemptive damage control, she goes full attack and refuses to even hear Gina out. I mean, she’s the ultimate shit-stirrer and has to hide her bad deeds by staying on the offensive! Because Tamra said ALL that shit about her so-called BFF. Not that Gina was in the right, of course. She tried to take advantage of Shannon while she was down, and tried to expose Tamra for the terrible friend she really is but for self-serving purposes. I do admire Gina’s gumption – both her gumption in wearing such atrocious eye makeup on national TV and in taking on Tamra who is a vicious cougar.
This is how good Tamra is at the game: Emily tries to second Gina’s “concern” by mentioning that she sees comparisons between Shannon’s behavior and her mentally ill mother’s. SO Tamra flips on her fake tears switch and manages to aptly turn Gina’s accusation of betrayal into her sobbing about how much she TRIES to help Shannon and be a good person, but it’s just so hard!!! And Kelly masterfully realizing that she’s gotten out of jail free (for now), consoles Tamra for taking on so much! The worst is that SHANNON will see this as Tamra and Kelly defending her!
Just when Gina thinks everyone believes she was trying to do the right thing and attempts to redirect the conversation to showing compassion for both Tamra and Shannon, Tamra’s tears stop and she icily snaps with a sneer, “I don’t want to talk about Shannon.” Oh, Gina… lil rookie.
But, um, are Gina and Tamra really fighting over Shannon? Ladies… pick a better prize. Shane’s socks?
TELL US – DID GINA STIR THE POT, OR DID SHE MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION IN TELLING SHANNON? WILL VICKI STOP GETTING PLASTIC SURGERY?
