Sometimes there is that one celebrity who wasn’t hashtag blessed with a dialogue filter. Or any accurate perception of reality. Case in point, still-employed-for-now, NeNe Leakes. Real Housewives of Atlanta viewers are well aware of NeNe’s explosive personality.
Season 12 was not all peaches and champagne for NeNe. Hell, she wasn’t even around for the first few episodes after getting checked for her attitude. NeNe claimed to be on a “spiritual journey”, but I’m not sure it took. She was still volatile. Still plagued by jealousy. And NeNe kept up with her favorite role, victim. You might think NeNe plateaued as the martyr of RHOA when she complained about caring for her husband during cancer treatment. Now she has surpassed even that. In an effort to explain her disastrous appearance on the reunion, NeNe likened herself to an unarmed black man murdered by a police officer. Yep, she went there.
We are in the middle of a quest for change, sparked by the injustice of George Floyd’s murder at the hands of law enforcement. People have taken to the streets to protest Mr. Floyd’s treatment, racism, and push the Black Lives Matter movement into the forefront, where it should be.
What SHOULD NOT be done is using this tragedy as a comparison to petty issues. What SHOULD NOT be done is using Mr. Floyd’s name in vain. But leave it to NeNe to do both of these things, and she might get dragged for it. According to The Blast, NeNe’s foot has placed itself directly in her throat (again). Exhibit A: running away from the reunion. With the purpose of justifying her decision to ditch the hard questions, NeNe claims she felt attacked. She shared, “It was just too negative one. I felt very ganged up on.” I bet that poor cameraman in NeNe’s closet felt pretty ganged up on too.
Then NeNe offered this tone-deaf comparison. “For all of you out there who can say they don’t know what ganged up on is, Google the definition of ‘gang up’. Gang up is more than one person on a person at the same time. George Floyd was ganged up on, so no he was physically ganged up on, and I have felt verbally ganged up on many times and that is not fair to me.” Outrage, party of everyone – your table is ready!
Oh, NeNe. This devotion to yourself has reached new heights. She continued, “It’s three and four people and when this show has five and six women on it, who are supposed to be showing their lives and their business and their highs and their lows, why am I being the only person attacked here why am I the only person that everything is being directed to?” Because despite multiple chances, spiritual journeys, and lackluster attempts at redemption, she’s just a shit-stirrer at heart?
NeNe has put her hands on people. She has angered the cast so much, no one would film with her. NeNe shamed her husband for getting cancer. Now she had the audacity to use the death of (another) murdered black man an example for her plight? Seemingly avoiding any sense of responsibility or ownership of her part. The act of using Mr. Floyd’s name in relation to this trifling mess is both tasteless and disgusting. I SAID WHAT I SAID.
Bravo is making some RHOA decisions for next season and so far Eva Marcille is gone. Cynthia Bailey might also be gone. Is it time for NeNe to take another break? NeNe has lost respect from fans over the years, but this might be what sends the remaining 5 people that adore her over the edge.
She got away with physical altercations. She got away with fat shaming and victim blaming. Will she also get away with comparing her reunion antics to that of a murdered man representing the ongoing challenges of an entire community faced with constant adversity? Bloop.

Recently Bravo has taken action during the Black Lives Matter movement and axed several stars for their racist behavior. Vanderpump Rules showed Kristin Doute and Stassi Schroeder the door. The ladies held it open for Pump Rules newbies Brett Caprioni and Max Boyens, who were also fired for their past racist comments.
Below Deck Mediterranean star Pete Hunziker was also let go because of a racist social media post. Yet, there are some Bravo stars that have shown similarly unacceptable behavior but haven’t paid a price for it.
Such is the case of Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd. In a rediscovered TMZ video clip from 2016, a drunken Kelly chats with the paparazzi in Los Angeles. “I don’t like Black guys. I don’t even know any Black guys,” Kelly told the paparazzi. Yikes.
Kelly later told TMZ, “I am truly embarrassed. There is no excuse for bad behavior or comments that offend anyone,” the RHOC star said. “That video does not represent who I really am and I apologize for acting irresponsibly.” If only Kelly could have learned from her own apology. Sigh.
According to Us Weekly, Kelly took to Instagram on June 20 and revealed that she has been a victim of racism. She posted a meme which stated, “Don’t argue with people on social media. Every classroom had a kid that ate paste. That’s probably who you’re arguing with.” A follower asked Kelly, “But, like, do you truly believe that because ‘You’re Mexican you can’t be racist’?” Of course, Kelly clapped back. “I’ve experienced racism personally … I’m a woman of color and love everyone!” she responded.
Kelly’s former RHOC co-star Tamra Judge has expressed her belief that Bravo should fire Kelly for her comments. And on June 15, Kelly denied rumors that she had already lost her job as an Orange County Housewife.
Of course, Kelly has repeatedly made insensitive, and factually incorrect comments about the Covid-19 pandemic. Kelly referred to coronavirus as “God’s way of thinning the herd!” Kelly, who is obviously unable to stop running her mouth, issued an apology.
But that didn’t stop her from making more controversial comments about the coronavirus outbreak. During an Instagram Live session in May, Kelly compared Covid-19 to the flu, stating “But how many people die on a daily basis? … Well, people are going to die! I’m sorry to tell ya.”
In May, Kelly commented that no one was dying of coronavirus in Orange County. Once again, Kelly was spreading misinformation like it was her job.
In my eyes, Kelly’s offensive remarks and insensitive coronavirus comments should lead to Bravo taking away her orange. Only time will tell if Kelly has jumped stepped too far over the line this time.

Marlo Hampton and Kenya Moore were good friends for a hot second, but that cannot be further from the truth these days. Kenya brought that marching band in to disrupt Marlo’s wig launch. Marlo said Kenya isn’t really married to Marc Daly.
These two are constantly going back and forth. However, it seems like Marlo does have some compassion for her rival. When it comes to Kenya’s dynamic with Marc, Marlo is cringing just like the rest of us. How can Kenya stand up to any of her co-stars, but not her own husband?
Marlo opened up on a recent episode of Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef about how she’s content being single. She doesn’t want to “build something” with a man just for the sake of doing what people expect. Marlo doesn’t want to settle. When it comes down to it, Marlo said, “I want to be happy.” And then she got a little shady.
Marlo continued, “I don’t want you to see this picture and I’m getting abused. I’m getting disrespected. I mean, look at Kenya’s situation, unfortunately. I would be single before I have a Marc talking to me like that or treating me like that on national television. I would be single!”
She explained, “[Kenya] chews my head off and you would sit and let a man talk to you that way? That speaks a lot about you. I feel sorry for you. It’s not even a joke. It’s like, I like cringe when I see him and her on the show.” We all do, Marlo. Every. Single. One. Of. Us.
Marlo said, “I’m like ‘Oh my god, Kenya. What’s happening that you really feel like you need this? And you’re raising a daughter.’ I just hope she wakes up before it’s too late because I would not want [Kenya’s daughter] Brooklyn [Daly] to see what type of situation she’s in right now and allow any man to treat her that way.” Same here. Let’s hope that Kenya finds a way to turn this tough relationship into something positive, for Brooklyn’s sake.
Get ready for this one, folks. Marlo actually complimented Kenya (sort of). She said, “I’m shocked that the Kenya Moore that I know, the strong woman, who is very well-spoken, very educated, would sit and let a man belittle her like this on national TV… and in life. I just feel sorry for any woman who does that.” Once again, I have to say “Same here, Marlo.”
Marlo revealed, “My mother was in an abusive relationship and me seeing her in that taught me that I will never be in anything like that. If I’m in it, I’m gonna be in it for two seconds and I’m gonna hop out of that.” Good for her.

The longtime Vanderpump Rules have seen a lot of changes among the cast members. Some of them have grown into better people. Others are just getting into even more trouble than they were before.
One person who has seen a lot, from the very beginning is Peter Madrigal. He’s been on the show since day one and he runs Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant SUR, as one of the managers.
Peter recently appeared on Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef to share his insights on the show. He was asked to name the people who changed the most for the positive and the negative. As far as the positive goes, Peter had a pretty surprising answer, considering all the recent backlash. Peter answered, “I think Jax [Taylor] has changed for the positive, especially getting married, settling into the life” That’s a…. ummmm…. unexpected response.
Peter insisted, “He’s changed. He enjoys cutting the lawn and he enjoys just chilling out.” Wow, such character development there. As far as Jax’s drama from the most recent season, Peter explained it saying “He was settling into the change in his life,” i.e. his marriage. Peter also said that Jax is just “trying to figure himself out.”
He also gave a lot of credit to James Kennedy, saying he has changed “big time.” Peter added, “He’s had the most change. It’s crazy, you know? From drinking every day to [now], he’s kind of an inspiration to me. I found myself drinking every day [during] this quarantine.”
When he was pushed to name the cast member who’s changed in a negative way or let fame get to their head, Peter could not think of anyone. Instead, he insisted, “I think everyone has changed for the better.” It should also be noted that Peter doesn’t even watch Vanderpump Rules.
Still, Peter maintained, “Everybody that I’ve been around has grown up and changed for the better.”
And, then he brought the conversation back to the positive. Peter remarked, “The one who has matured a lot is [Tom] Schwartz. He freaked out bartending at Pump and now he’s a partner with Lisa. That’s quite a trajectory there.” It really is. If anyone deserves a bar, it’s Peter, considering that Schwartz never worked a full shift at any of Lisa’s restaurants.
All in all, Peter emphasized, “Like I said, everybody grows up. Everybody matures and everybody changes for the better, you know?”

Below Deck is one of the most popular reality TV franchises. The original show is still going strong. Below Deck Mediterranean just started a new season. Below Deck Sailing Yacht recently finished its first season.
While Below Deck Sailing Yacht had some interesting drama, it became pretty exhausting to watch the ups and downs of Jenna MacGillivray and Adam Glick’s romantic relationship. Sure, it was entertaining at times, but it also was so draining. Or at least that’s how I felt, even from the comfort of my own couch at home. Adam had some redeeming moments on Below Deck Med, but pretty much none on this show. And don’t even get me started on Jenna. To put it kindly (sort of), she’s just not an audience favorite. However, I love Captain Glenn Shephard. He has a great attitude and he never hesitates to help out when the crew needs an extra hand. He’s very refreshing to watch… but I have no problem cleaning house when it comes to the rest of the cast.

However, while we are in the midst of a global pandemic, it’s unclear when it would even be safe for season 2 start filming.

At this point, pretty much every reality TV star has a podcast. Well, except for Stassi Schroeder, whose podcast was removed from all platforms in response to her racially insensitive behavior. But, then again, she’s not even a reality TV star anymore, not until the next opportunity comes along, anyway.
Now, that the former queen bee is out of the podcast scene, her soldier close friend Katie Maloney is coming through with her own podcast. Will she address all of the recent Vanderpump Rules drama? That would be a great way to pull in a big audience for that first episode.
Katie’s podcast is called You’re Gonna Love Me with Katie Maloney. Here’s the description from the landing page in the podcast app: “‘A bitch, a mean girl, a bully’… There’s not many names Katie hasn’t been called. You’re Gonna Love Me is a podcast that’s going to open the eyes, the ears, and the hearts, of anyone who has judged or been judged (hopefully).”
What else can we expect? “She’ll be talking to plenty of familiar faces, including those who have thrown some shade, spent time in the shade, or just enjoy the shade. After all, this is a conversation that involves everybody.”
The description continues with “Why do we judge, what is the criteria for who gets to judge and why? None us are perfect, we’re all just human, So let’s spend a little less time judging, and a little more time loving.”
In a sneak peek clip, she revealed that the podcast will drop new episodes on Fridays. She hasn’t shared a release date though, just promising that the show will be starting “soon.” Katie plans to talk to “some friends, castmates, celebrities, comedians, medical professionals, and maybe some political figures.” She promised, “and by the time we’re done, you’re gonna love me.”

This story has been circulating all weekend, but some new details have come to light. But, let’s take it from the top for anyone who needs to catch up. Queer Eye star Bobby Berk is calling out a Real Housewives of New York cast member for bad behavior.
He accuses the woman of stealing from him before he became a reality star himself. He doesn’t name the New York Housewife who did him wrong, but he did share a lot of details that help narrow down the possibilities.
Us Weekly reported that Bobby shared this story during a recent appearance on The Jenny McCarthy Show. Before getting into the specifics, he remarked, “Celebrities can be a pain in the ass sometimes. A lot of times there can be some that expect everything for free.”
Then he shared, “I had a New York Housewife come into my store years ago in New York, and [she] was like, ‘Oh, I’m buying this new place.’ Turns out, of course, she wasn’t buying it. She didn’t even own the last one she had on the show that she said she owned.” So far, this applies to more than one NY Housewife.
Bobby continued, “She’s like, ‘I want you to come in and design it all. I’m gonna put you on the show.’ And I wasn’t on TV yet. I still kind of liked the Housewives, so I was like, ‘Oh, OK, but just so you know, I’m not doing it for free. I don’t need to do it for free. I don’t necessarily know if the Housewives is really the exposure I want anyways, so I’ll do it for you at cost.’ And she’s like, ‘OK, OK, that works.'” Of course, that’s not actually how it went down.
This part helps narrow down the field a bit. Bobby revealed, “Then her husband calls and her husband’s like, ‘No, you just really need to do this for free,’ and tried to bully me into doing it for free.” Whose husbands have we seen on the show? Start thinking, Reality Tea community.
Bobby decided not to do the project, but the story wasn’t over. He shared, “She came into my store the next week when I wasn’t there and told my staff that I had said she could take anything out of the store that she wanted to design her house for the shoot and here was her credit card and ‘If I don’t bring anything back, if I like something, you can just charge the credit card.'” SKETCHY.
His employees didn’t know that Bobby decided not to work with her, so they just gave her what she wanted. Then, when they ran the credit card, it got declined.
Bobby recalled she “came in here and literally stole from my store.” And in response, this Housewife told him, “You know what? Then let’s go to court. This’ll be good TV. It’s easier for us just to have our lawyer deal with it than it would be to actually pay you.”
The two names that come to mind so far, but now one really stands out. Us Weekly reported that Bobby called out Aviva Drescher and her husband Reid Drescher in some 2014 tweets.
“Oh @AvivaDrescher, UR such a con-artist. Guess I’m not the only one you F’ed over. So pathetic!,” he tweeted on September 2014. He also tweeted in April 2014, “@CaroleRadziwill I agree with you! Reid is a total crook! #RHONY.”
So, most likely it’s Aviva. But, Ramona Singer also had a husband on this show. So did Jill Zarin. Maybe it’s Alex McCord. How’s that for a throwback reference? We all know much Simon Van Kempen liked to get involved, especially with fashion and home decor decisions. By the time Bethenny Frankel had a husband, her credit card would never get declined.
