Reality TV’s most riveting competition game show, The Traitors is back for another season, and the first three episodes were so captivating we couldn’t wait to get back here to talk about Episode 4.
In case you need a refresher, 21 reality TV stars and celebrities entered Alan Cumming’s Scotland castle to embark on a journey full of schemes, backstabbing, and murder. In the end, the winner(s) could take home their share of up to $250,000 if they can evade being killed or banished from the game.
So far, we’ve lost Johnny Bananas, Larsa’s boyfriend Marcus, Drag Race star Peppermint, and Dancing with the Stars veteran Maks. At the end of Episode 3, instead of murdering someone in private like usual, the Traitors’ new challenge was to murder someone in plain sight. Who do you think received the poisonous chalice? Was it Larsa, MJ, or Shereé? And who do you think was sent home in The Traitors Season 2, Episode 4? Read on to find out.
Who was poisoned in The Traitors Season 2, Episode 4?
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu drank from the poison chalice and is the third celebrity to be murdered in The Traitors Season 2.
Episode 4 picked up immediately where we left off. The Traitors were tasked with murdering one of their castmates in plain sight by getting their target to drink out of their poisonous chalice. Initially, Parvati considered Shereé, but Phaedra’s plan is to protect her fellow Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star as long as possible.
Once Parvati realized her first choice was no longer an option, she went to another part of the castle with MJ, Janelle, Bergie, Trishelle, Ekin-Su, Pete, and Dan. The Survivor alum realized she had to make a movie quickly, and after surveying her options, she zeroed in on her target: the Love Island star, Ekin Su.
Parvati slithered over to Ekin, who was going on about “f*cking” the Traitors up once the show wrapped, and cheered to her statement with her chalice. Ekin took a sip of Parvati’s poisonous wine, and just like that, she sealed her fate. However, Ekin and the rest of the cast, including the remaining Traitors, wouldn’t find out who fell victim to their schemes until the next day’s mission.
The mission leaves everybody in the castle confused
The cast meets Alan (the show’s wildly entertaining host) outside the castle to prepare for the day’s mission — a funeral procession.
The cast’s task was to correctly identify the poisoned player before they were buried by guessing the correct answer to clues along the way to the burial site. After each clue, a group of players will be deemed safe and are free to join the other safe players in the horse’s carriage.
Only three cast members remained up for murder after a round of three clues: MJ, Parvati, and Ekin-Su. All three ladies entered an individual casket where their fellow Faithfuls and Traitors tossed a black rose in the casket of the person they believed was poisoned the night before.
If they guessed the poisoned player correctly, $20,000 would be added to the grand prize. If the majority guess the wrong player, they get nothing.
Before voting, the safe players agreed the person most likely to be murdered would be MJ since she’s been so outspoken regarding the Traitors. But to everybody’s surprise, despite receiving every safe cast member’s rose, MJ was not the murdered player, and Ekin-Su’s casket was buried in the Scottish grounds.
This move confused the Faithfuls because Ekin-Su was likely the next celebrity to be banished from the castle. Why would they poison somebody that already had eyes on them? Although taking out Ekin-Su worked and fulfilled the Traitor’s mission, they weren’t all pleased with the choice. “That’s going to put a target on me like crazy because I voted for her last night, so they’ll think I killed her,” Phaedra told Dan and Parvati.
But that could work perfectly for the CBS allies, who fear Phaedra could beat both of them in the end. “I don’t want to be the first to shoot,” Dan told Parvati in private, “but we gotta give them some blood,” to which Parvati replied, “Before it’s me or you?”
Who is banished in The Traitors Season 2, Episode 4?
Larsa Pippen is the third celebrity to be banished from The Traitors Season 2, in Episode 4.
Before the cast met for the night’s roundtable discussion, where the majority would banish another celebrity, more names began floating around the castle. Larsa, who hung with the rest of the Bravo stars, had been trying to rally the women (and some men) to vote for the group’s strongest “alpha male.” After considering who was murdered so far, including Johnny Bananas and her boyfriend Marcus, Larsa’s gut told her it was between Dan and CT. Ultimately, she decided to target the Challenge vet and asked for the others to help her.
On the other side of the castle, other cast members, including CT, Sandra, Janelle, and Kevin, felt somebody from the Real Housewives franchise had to be a Traitor, considering how much of a “clique” they are.
Damn, CBS folks. Why can’t the Real Housewives and Bravo stars stick together? Did you ever consider that somebody in YOUR group could also be a Traitor? Perhaps two?! Either way, Parvati saw the perfect opportunity to plant her seed. She said being a Traitor would be ideal for a Housewife since their show is mostly a “performance” anyway.
At the roundtable, Janelle went after Larsa first, accusing her of weird behavior when she raised a glass for Marcus after finding out he was murdered. “I toast to everyone. You’re telling me that’s weird?” Larsa asked. “I think you’re weird. I think how selfish you are is weird. You think I would ever murder my own boyfriend?”
A few others came for Larsa before she came for CT. “Do I think you’re the head of the snake? Yes,” Larsa said. “You are the head of the snake. When you stand over there, you will say that you’re a Traitor, my friend. You guys will all see.”
However, Larsa’s attempt to shift the focus on CT didn’t work. Eventually, Parvati jumped into the conversation to accuse a specific group of people of murdering her castmates.
“The performance aspect [of this game] has been on my mind … but who has the capacity to perform this part? It’s actors, and I think Housewives as well. Because you guys get scripts; you produce…” before Larsa cut her off to say, “We don’t act, my friend. We live our life.”
“Don’t come for the Housewives, honey,” Phaedra said. “We are not a game.”
“The only person I’ve worked with in this room is Tamra and Shereé. Everyone else is a stranger. We are not killing anyone. So, don’t do the Housewives thing, honey. Don’t do that, Parvati.”
Phaedra expressed her anger with Parvati for throwing her under the bus during her confessional. “I am livid with Parvati,” she said. “Because you’re bringing heat my way. I will not tolerate bad behavior [at] the roundtable.”
“I don’t need this kind of heat on me.”
Phaedra sets the record straight with Parvati and Dan
Once the clock struck midnight and the Traitors could meet privately to discuss the day’s events, Phaedra immediately let Parvati have it. “That wasn’t cool,” she said.
“For you to go in there and try to throw me under the bus. When you do things like that, it brings attention to me. Like, ‘Oh, they work together, they’re on a show.’ I’m like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ No one likes you, Parvati. Everyone says you’re a f*cking Traitor. We can be in this game together, but you’re going to play fair. And if you don’t, you ‘gon have more problems than a Faithful. I’m playing very fair with you, so don’t do that to me. Both of you.”
Now that Dan and Parvati have set the plan in motion to frame Phaedra as a Traitor, we’ll have to wait to see if they are successful. Or will Phaedra use her persuasiveness to get her way?
New episodes of The Traitors stream on Peacock on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
