Last night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live was packed with (reality) star power. Andy Cohen had Dorinda Medley on as his featured guest and 31 other Bravolebrities rang the doorbell before making surprise appearances.
Since the episode was taped in Los Angeles, it was mostly cast members from the Bravo shows that take place in California: Vanderpump Rules, Shahs of Sunset, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and Real Housewives of Orange County, but plenty of other notable Bravo personalities showed up. It was a really fun episode to watch, but the 31 extra guests definitely took away from Dorinda’s time in the spotlight- at least in my opinion.
When the show started, Andy was the only one on stage, giving him the perfect opportunity to crack a “What are you doing here without Dorinda?” joke. On cue, she rang the doorbell and walked out on stage. James Kennedy has been DJing the episodes all week, so of course he rang that second doorbell. After that most of the Vanderpump Rules cast members stormed the stage with Jax Taylor, Tom Schwartz, Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Brittany Cartwright, Lala Kent, Scheana Marie, and Billie Lee all sitting at the bar.
Original Housewives Vicki Gunvalson, Lauri Peterson, and Jeana Keough showed up along with other OC ladies Kelly Dodd and Gretchen Rossi. Shahs of Sunset stars Mercedes “MJ” Javid, Reza Farahan, and MJ’s mom Vida Javid popped up. Andy said, “MJ, you’re getting married next week.” Then he asked her mom, “Vida, do you approve of Tommy [Feight] these days?” Thankfully Vida answered with a genuinely enthusiastic “Yes. Yes.”
Next up, some former Beverly Hills Housewives: Camille Grammer, Brandi Glanville, Adrienne Maloof, and Eileen Davidson. And then I got sad thinking about when the show actually used to be good.
Former New Jersey Housewife and current California resident Dina Manzo joined the Bravolebrities on stage. Andy asked Dina, “Were you surprised that Danielle [Staub] and Teresa [Giudice] became friends again?” She answered, “Nothing surprises me on Jersey.” Jill Zarin was very Real Housewives of New York Season 1, showing up in her tennis outfit.
Andy looked at Vicki and said, “Vicki, I heard Brooks [Ayers] got married.” The OG of the OC tried to play it cool and said, “I heard the same thing. Buh bye. Bye, bitch.” Gretchen spoke up for attention interjected with, “I did not know that. To who?” Vicki (clearly lied) and said, “I don’t know,” when she made it very clear that she was very much aware of this woman’s identity on Instagram right after the news broke.
Then Andy said, “Jax, you now know that James did not say that he ‘hooked up with’ Kristen, right? You’ve seen the tape now, right?” Jax countered with, “Yeah, but it wasn’t all caught on camera.” James started to say, “I got away…. ” Andy cut him off and asked, “Did you just say you got away with it?” James said, “Oh come on now. Kristen knows exactly what…” And he got cut off again. I guess all will be resolved at the Vanderpump Rules reunion.
Andy finally remembered that Dorinda was his main guest and managed to ask her one (super shady) question: “Dorinda, what percentage of the season do you remember?” Dorinda told Andy, “A lot of it. Stop, Andy.” Then he asked, “Were you surprised when you watched the Halloween episode?” She told him, “No because I started filming at 2. My dear friend and makeup artist Luke ate my hamburger and they kept serving me bubbly, purple, smoky drinks.. that were delicious.” She may not have been surprised watching that Halloween episode of Real Housewives of New York, but if I were her, I would be surprised by the episode of Watch What Happens Live she was filming since she was barely acknowledged.
Then Jenni Pulos came in singing the Watch What Happens theme song. NeNe Leakes walked through the door. The Gay Shark (which I never thought was funny and I don’t understand why it’s still a thing) popped up with Captain Sandy Yawn from Below Deck.
Andy turned the conversation to Vanderpump Rules and asked, “Schwartz, what was your reaction when you saw Rihanna watching the clip of you in Mexico? Did you die?” Schwartz admitted, “I swooned.”
Carole Radziwill continued her marathon story line (cue my yawn) by running onto the stage in a sweatsuit.
Andy got a little shady again. when he said, “So, Brandi and Scheana are both here. I think we all understand what happened between you, but have the two of you moved on?” Brandi shared, “We both liked the same guy backstage. Go figure.” Scheana joked, “Apparently we have the same type. I know, it’s weird.”
Knowing Scheana’s history, Andy took a dig with the next question: “Is the guy single?” Scheana told him, “Yeah he is. We already exchanged numbers”- which is also what happened with Eddie Cibrian…while he was still married to Brandi.
Moving on to another Brandi beef, Andy shared, “Brandi, you and Eileen went through some tough times. Eileen actually brought you the trophy that you won at the poker tournament that you never took that night.” How cute. Now let’s get them back on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and restore the show to its former glory- with Camille back full-time, of course.
Andy said, “Vicki, it’s great seeing you and Lauri here together. After the whole ‘multiple partners,'” and then Vicki interrupted him to reenact her infamous rant and yelled, “I’ve never been with multiple partners in my life!” Even after that, it seems like Vicki and Lauri are cool these days.
Andy asked, “Gretchen, have you and Slade [Smiley] set a wedding date?” Gretchen teased, “It’s babies first and then wedding. So I don’t know, maybe in a couple weeks, months, you’ll find out if I’m pregnant or not.” How subtle.
An audience member asked NeNe, “Who do you have beef with on stage?” There was no one else from Atlanta, so I had no idea what she was going to say and then she shocked me when she started to say, “Roza, Reza, Roza, Reeza. The person who has said different little things about me. I’m not sure why.” Just for clarification, the person she was actually referring to was Reza from Shahs of Sunset.
NeNe continued, “I don’t care about the season. The point is, you were talking trash. It was crazy that you talk trash about somebody that you don’t even know.”
Reza shared his side of the story: “When I found out I was going to be on Watch What Happens Live as soon as Shahs aired and when I found out I was going to be on with NeNe, I was so excited. She turned her chair and like ignored me the whole time. I said bye her to her. She didn’t say bye to me.” In all honesty that sounds completely on brand for NeNe. Even so, she claimed, “That’s not true.”
Reza insisted, “It is one hundred percent true.” NeNe pulled a Mariah and ended up proving his point when she said, “Honey, I don’t know you.” As if that’s not at all elitist or rude…. She continued, “I was there to see Andy and I didn’t even know who [Reza] was.” Another point to support Reza’s version of events.
Reza explained, “If it were someone from a new show was sitting next to I would be like ‘Yo, player. Good luck.'” NeNe continued to be the supportive woman that she is and said, “That’s you. That’s you. I’m not out there giving advice.” Once again, Reza’s story seems completely plausible and on brand for NeNe.
Jenni Pulos jumped in with, “In NeNe’s defense, at the Summer by Bravo shoot, you threw some shade back at NeNe.” Why wouldn’t he? It sounds like NeNe was rude as hell….like she continues to be.
Then Andy, Dorinda, and all of the other guests did a shotski as group, but the surprises weren’t over. Andy said, “The one thing we’re missing is a performance. Maybe by someone who has their own Pandora station.” That was the perfect introduction for Luann de Lesseps to perform “Money Can’t Buy You Class,” while she threw money in the air. Camille showed off her signature dance moves while Lu sang, and Luann even hugged Carole– which is pretty surprising considering all of the shade they’ve been throwing at each other these days.
