Questions We Have Going Into Summer House Season 8

Season 8 of Summer House will premiere on Bravo on Thursday, February 22. The upcoming season may be the most anticipated to date, considering it’s coming on the heels of Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard‘s shocking breakup. Several cast members have teased that fans will have more answers about the breakup when the season airs. We have a lot of questions going into Summer House Season 8, so let’s unpack them together.

What Really Happened With Carl and Lindsay?

(Bravo/YouTube)

What happened with Carl and Lindsay is the number one question on fans’ minds. Although the two have spoken about their breakup in the press, their stories differ. We’re unsure whose story is more credible at this point and we’re hoping Season 8 will provide us more clarity on what led to their downfall.

Linsay has been open about feeling “blindsided” by the split. She appeared on an episode of The Viall Files in November, where she said her ex humiliated her by breaking up with her in front of cameras.

The teaser trailer, released earlier this month, showed a different story. The three-minute video included audio of the former couple fighting and a clip of a minister telling Carl he wouldn’t marry him and Lindsay.

Kyle Cooke also shared his thoughts on the split in an interview with E! News in October. The Loverboy founder told the outlet that Lindsay and Carl have had problems for a while.

“It’s no secret that they’ve been in constant couple’s therapy ever since they basically started dating,” he told the outlet. “From my perspective, there were times where I was like, man, it’s almost like the only time they could communicate on any given week was in therapy. It’s almost like they couldn’t even communicate anymore without a third party,” he added. Yikes.

There seems to be a few contradicting narratives out there, so we’ll have to see how things shake out in Season 8.

Who Is Newcomer West Wilson?

(West Wilson/Instagram)

West Wilson is the newest addition to the Summer House. West is a 28-year-old sports journalist who was recently laid off due to staff changes. According to his Instagram, West splits his time between New York and Miami. West is single so he will bring some fun to the house.

The newcomer seems like a total catch. However, according to Bravo.com, he struggles with commitment. Hmm. We also saw him asking Kyle if he had to “only hit on the single girls” in the trailer, so he could definitely cause some trouble this season. We’re curious to learn more about West.

What’s Going on With Kyle & Amanda?

Kyle and Amanda Batula always have drama and it looks like this season won’t be any different. In the teaser trailer, we saw the couple fighting quite a bit. At one point, Ciara Miller told Amanda she doesn’t think she has an identity outside of Kyle. Ouch.

Could this be the end for Kyle and Amanda? We doubt it, but we still have many questions about what led to all the fights we saw in the trailer.

Are Paige And Craig Any Closer to Compromising?

We love Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover together but they can’t do long distance forever. In the past, we’ve seen the two struggle to combine their lives. Craig’s life is in South Carolina and Paige’s life is in New York. The Giggly Squad host has said she would be okay moving down south eventually, but the thought alone seems to drive her to tears, so we’re not so sure about that.

In the trailer, we see Paige yelling, “You can’t compromise on anything.” We’re assuming the statement was directed at her boyfriend because the camera showed a close-up of Craig right after. However, production could be purposely misleading us to think the couple is in trouble. We’re super curious to see if the two come to a resolution this season and take a step forward in their relationship.

Why Monica Garcia Is the Best One-Season Wonder Housewife

Fans had high hopes when Monica Garcia joined the cast of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City for Season 4. She was funny, relatable, and didn’t shy away from drama. Viewers fully expected to see the brunette beauty next season. However, Monica’s RHOSLC reign came crashing down in the finale when Heather Gay revealed that the newbie was the mastermind behind the Instagram troll account Reality Von Tease. The Instagram page was responsible for spreading rumors about the cast and their families. Once the group turned on Monica, her days on the show were numbered.

After filming the reunion, the newcomer was let go from the network, joining a select group of women who were given the boot after one season as a Real Housewives cast member. Monica certainly sticks out compared to the other one-season wonder housewives. She wasn’t let go because she was boring or lacked a compelling storyline—quite the opposite.

While she may be controversial, she made great TV. Here are all the reasons Monica is the best one-season wonder housewife.

Monica Fit In With the Group

To thrive on Real Housewives, you have to click with the ladies. There are feuds, of course, but you must gel with at least one cast member to survive. Prior to the finale, Monica had successfully integrated herself into the group. The ladies even planned a girls’ trip to celebrate her birthday. She was starting to become a part of the group. Lisa Barlow was never a fan, but she won over some of the women.

Unlike other one-season wonders like Cindy Bishop and Quinn Fry, her introduction to the show didn’t feel forced. Monica felt like a natural addition. She knew Jen Shah and Angie Katsanevas, which certainly helped her relate to the other women. And most importantly, she tried. She tried to create a space for herself within the group. Not all newbies can say that.

Monica Had a Compelling Backstory

Monica may be sneaky, but she’s not boring. The RHOSLC star showed up on day one and revealed she was a government witness in Jen’s case and shared she had a months-long affair with her brother-in-law. Woah. Bravo fans love mess and Monica was ready to give it to them.

The Utah native also opened up about her complicated relationship with her mother, Linda Darnell. Monica and Linda’s dynamic wasn’t like anything else we’ve seen on Real Housewives. While at times hard to watch, fans appreciated her openness in sharing a difficult part of her life.

Monic Brought the Drama

Oftentimes, newcomers will take a backseat rather than involve themselves in drama, but that was not the case with Monica. She was all about the drama. There was never a dull moment, from her blowup fight with Angie at Greek Easter to wreaking havoc at Heather’s book celebration.

Most one-season wonders don’t have iconic moments, but Monica had multiple despite only being on a one-season. That’s an impressive feat.

Monica Had Great Confessionals

Monica was the queen of confessionals in Season 4. She always had something shady to say about the women, from dissing her co-star’s fashion faux-pas to revealing Jen never had anything good to say about Heather.

For someone who hadn’t been on reality TV before, Monica was a natural in front of the camera, and her confessionals were extremely entertaining. You don’t have to kill it in the confessionals to be a compelling Housewife, but it certainly helps.

Monica Made RHOSLC Season 4 Iconic

The RHOSLC Season 4 finale is the most talked about Bravo moment of 2024. Heather dropping the bomb about Reality Von Tease went mega viral on social media and inspired countless jokes and memes. You have to be living under a rock to not know about, “Receipts, proof, timeline, screenshots!” While Heather is the one who delivered the iconic speech, there would be no Reality Von Tease without Monica.

Monica being unmasked as an internet troll has to be one of the most outrageous storylines in the show’s history—and there have been some crazy ones, so that is saying a lot. The whole story was so perfect that it’s hard to believe it wasn’t scripted. Love her or hate her, Monica helped create one of the best episodes in Housewives history. No other one-season wonder can say that.
