Big Brother 18 Recap: Who Makes the Final Four Tonight?
In the Big Brother 18 recap this evening, this will be the first of back-to-back eviction episodes ramping up to the season finale next Wednesday evening, September 21, 2016. The episode tonight will feature the Power of Veto (POV) competition after Corey nominated Paul and Victor to the Block, the eviction ceremony that will decide the final four houseguests (HG) competing for a half of a million dollars, and finally the new Head of Household (HOH) competition. Hang on tight as tonight’s episode should be one wild ride on the Big Brother train.
Corey made a bold move Sunday evening, and he decided to forgo his final four alliance with Paul and Victor thus nominating both of his former allies to the Block for eviction. This was certainly a power move and had to be done if he has any chance of winning Big Brother. Corey started off the season as a very weak player but has really surged in the last few weeks as a force to be reckoned with in the game. Not only did he finally make a big move in the game, but he started winning competitions which is paramount for winning the Big Brother title.
James went from hanging on from eviction last week to being completely safe this week. Natalie being evicted might just have been the best thing that could have happened to his game. He has aligned with Corey and Nicole and is hoping to slide his way into the final three with both of them.
Paul and Victor are finally in the hot seat with a point of no return. Victor will not even be able to win his way back into the house this time barring a miracle with the POV. The HGs say they are targeting Victor for eviction this week, but will he be able to hang on for one more day by convincing the HGs to vote out Paul instead? Paul and Victor have excellent chances of wining the POV and removing themselves from the Block for eviction. Can either of them make that kind of bold move tonight?

Peter Thomas Sued: Accused Of Defrauding Investor! Peter Responds!
More financial woes for Peter Thomas… at least Cynthia Bailey won’t have to bail him out this time! The Real Housewives Of Atlanta star is being sued – again -this time by Atlanta investor Tony Taylor who accuses Peter of defrauding him out of more than $150,000!

Tony alleges that Peachter convinced him to invest more than $150,000 into Club 1, a nightclub Peter and his brother Clyde opened in February in exchange for a portion of ownership, but Tony now says Peter has refused to uphold his terms of the agreement.
According to Tony’s lawsuit filed in Mecklenburg County Court, earlier this year he met Peter’s brother Clyde at Sports One, the club Peter co-owns with Kordell Stewart. Tony was told Peter was looking for new investors for Club 1, another venture he was opening soon. Apparently Tony planned to give Peter $300,000 in exchange for 30 percent ownership of Club 1. Additionally Peter promised Tony that would have an active role in managing and developing the new club because “Thomas was required to travel extensively.” For what, exactly?
WBTV reports that allegedly Peter told Tony he had already invested “$2 to $3 million dollars of his own money” into building and developing Club 1 (BWHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH) and had confirmed with Real Housewives Of Atlanta producers that “multiple segments of different episodes” would be filmed at Club 1 to advertise the business. But then Cynthia filed for divorce… ?
Peter also told Tony that he had a spinoff in the works called “What’s Peter Doing Now” which would focus on his entrepreneurial ventures, specifically his Charlotte-based bars, and Club 1 would have plenty of marketing and advertisement.
(Peter attempted to get a spinoff of the ground a few years ago, angling for it to be a Vanderpump Rules type show, but it never panned out apparently.)
Before officially becoming partners Peter even allegedly allowed Tony to participate in co-hosting a party, under the condition that Tony would front Peter a loan of $50,000 to cover costs associated with the event, and in exchange Tony would get all the money earned from cover charges, plus 20% of bar sales from the night. Tony says Peter promptly repaid his loan, plus an additional $10,000 and $4k from the bar sales. Therefore Tony felt he could trust Peter as a future business partner…
They allegedly met several times over subsequent months to work out a deal for Tony’s investment and on March 30, finalized an arrangement in which Tony would invest $150,000 (not the original $300,000 they planned on) in exchange for 15% ownership of Club 1 – plus Peter promised Tony would have access to the books and would receive regular updates on the club’s progress. Over the next 60 days Tony forwarded the money to Peter in certified checks and bank wire transfers.
However fast-forward a few months later and Tony says he has received no documentation from Peter “evidencing an ownership or equity interest in Club 1” and now he believes he was swindled out of his investment!
Tony is suing Peter for fraudulent inducement, securities fraud, unjust enrichment, constructive fraud, obtaining property by false pretense and violation of punitive damages. He is seeking his investment returned, plus a trial by jury!
Tony is requesting his money back, plus a jury trial.
Peter responded to the suit on instagram, writing, “REALLY!!!!!! THIS GAME ISN’T FOR EVERYONE, @cluboneclt ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE” [SIDE EYE]
After leaving the Atlanta club scene, the RHOA star moved to Charlotte to open Sports One.

Shannon Beador Feels Justified In Not Visiting Vicki Gunvalson In Hospital

“I was taken aback when I heard about the accident on the golf course. I was perplexed that no one chose to call me and let me know the news,” begins Shannon. “When Meghan told me her account of her conversation with Heather and Kelly, the accident did not sound serious. Meghan said that Kelly and Heather were laughing and that Kelly was drinking a beer. In the show you can see that there are multiple champagne bottles open as well.”
“When I heard Tamra [Judge]’s story of what happened in the accident, I became very emotional. Tamra is one of my best friends and I had no idea the accident occurred as she described,” explains Shannon. “Before Tamra hung up on Meghan, I kept trying to say that the most important thing to focus on was that everyone was all right and not seriously injured. It seemed as though everyone was taking out their understandable aggression in the wrong place.”
Given that Vicki is not her friend, Shannon maintains that she is “completely justified” in skipping the hospital visit. “A friend would not be doing or saying the things that Vicki is recently connected to,” she adds.
Shannon says Meghan was in “constant contact with Vicki at the hospital to get updates on her condition” and Meghan relayed “each update.” Which is how Shannon knew Vicki wasn’t as injured as the ladies were purporting. “I was shocked at dinner when Meghan showed me selfie pics that Vicki had taken of herself. If I were injured, that would be the least of my concerns.” Yet filming a reality show after her husband has an affair wasn’t the least of her concern?

“To everyone who says I don’t have a sensitive or kind side, I do,” Shannon insists. “If Vicki had been admitted for her injuries, it would have been a different story. Fortunately for her, she was released with only a neck brace. Vicki has basically done nothing but lie to me in the last year and a half, and I want nothing to do with her.”
Tamra admits things were initially awkward with Tamra and Heather because Shannon was upset over Heather’s treatment of Meghan. “Heather has moved on with Vicki and I don’t think it is reasonable that she is threatening her friendship with Meghan over what is clearly a misinterpretation.”
“I can’t help but think that some of the shock/frustration/fear of the accident is being taken out on Meghan,” Shannon notes in her Bravo blog. “I don’t think she had any ill intent when it came to the accident. I don’t think any of us did for that matter. Everyone is alive and ok. That blessing is what everyone needs to be focusing on…not pointing the finger.”
Shannon warns us, “Continue to watch this season as it unfolds, and you will better understand why my decision was justified.” Yeah, I will wait… considering Tamra is involved I’m reserving judgement!

Ever since Farrah Abraham appeared as a pregnant cheerleader on 16 & Pregnant, she has been heavily maligned by the media and TV viewers for everything from her teenage pregnancy, to her plastic surgery, to her sex tape. But by far the most predominant criticisms are about Farrah’s mothering skills. These days, Farrah’s daughter Sophia Abraham is following in her cheerleading footsteps while her on-again-off-again boyfriend Simon Saran is dishing on her parenting abilities.

Although it is very easy to take digs at Farrah for her choices and shameless pursuit of overexposure, it’s hard to know what to believe when it comes the constant gossip about the Teen Mom star. With that said, I can’t help being curious about what Farrah’s ex has to say about the chronically controversial TV personality.
It’s hard to tell where Farrah and Simon stand with each other since their relationship really seems unclear at all times. In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline, Simon explained his relationship with Farrah, “It’s definitely an adventure. Some really good moments and some really awful moments. But that’s what keeps it interesting.” That’s a statement that the Teen Mom viewers would agree with.

Even with their up and down relationship status, Simon has nothing but glowing reviews for Farrah as a mother, “Farrah does come under a lot of fire. But off cameras Farrah is an amazing mother to Sophia.” I’m not sure what he means by “off camera.” I would like to assume that he is alluding to MTV using the least flattering footage in the show’s final edits – which is often the case with reality TV. It could also mean that Farrah plays up the drama for the sake of creating dramatic television. Hopefully, he did not mean to imply the latter.
Simon was very clear when he commended Sophia for being a single mother when he remarked, “She plays both the mother and father role for Sophia. It takes a lot of strength.” No matter what you have to say about Farrah, everyone can agree that she does take on a lot being a single parent. Obviously, her parenting abilities are up for debate with a lot of people, but it is definitely interesting to hear about someone defending her for once instead of the constant backlash that she receives.

Anyone who was watching 16 & pregnant back in the day has to remember Farrah rocking her school cheerleader uniform when she announced that she was pregnant, so life is really coming full circle now that Farrah’s daughter has decided to start cheering as well. Farrah put up a video of Sophia doing her thing with the caption: “Love my cheer boss @sophialabraham. #proudmom #cheermom First game of the season! #football #cheerleading” The seven year old also posted a video from her own Instagram account with the words, “First Game! #cheer #football #cheerleader @farrah__abraham”
It’s much easier for most people to criticize Farrah as a mom than to look for something good, but hopefully Simon’s comments are accurate and Sophia is getting the mother that she deserves to raise her and getting her involved with an organized activity should be a good thing, at least in theory.

Protestors Crash Ryan Lochte’s Dancing With The Stars Performance; Costars React
To put it mildly, it is tough to be Ryan Lochte these days. Sure, he is a wealthy, Olympic medalist so life can be worse, but he has been through the ringer in the media. Everyone is disappointed in Ryan for lying about getting robbed at gunpoint, so wasn’t surprising that he joined Dancing With the Stars to rehab his tarnished image. Unfortunately for the swimmer, that’s not going well so far, since protesters rushed the stage during the premiere episode.
If anyone needs to be on this show, it’s Ryan Lochte. Undoing his poor reputation, is going to take a lot of effort and I’m not just talking about nailing his routines on the dance floor. This is going to be a rough road ahead if he survives elimination. No matter how you feel about the Olympian, you have to admit that it was probably scary to encounter those protesters.

If you watched the DWTS premiere episode and you like you missed something, don’t worry, you’re not going crazy: the actual incident was not shown on camera. Instead, the camera focused on judge Carrie Ann Inaba.
According to a report from ABC News, “Two suspects, who were wearing anti-Lochte shirts, were taken into custody after being tackled by security as they walked onto the ballroom floor after Lochte’s performance. Four or five women who were yelling anti-Lochte chants around the same time were escorted from the audience.” Who knew that the DWTS fans were so rowdy? I feel bad for anyone (even Ryan Lochte) with so many people against him, but this controversy is more interesting than the actual dancing.
After the outburst, host Tom Bergeron made a vague announcement, “We had to go to break because we had a little incident.”
When Ryan was asked how he felt in response to the protest, he admitted, “So many feelings are going through my head right now. I’m a little hurt.” If you have trouble sympathizing for him, you might feel differently knowing that he also said, “You know, at that moment, I was really heartbroken. My heart just sunk. It felt like somebody just ripped it apart.” Sure, that’s probably not enough to get the haters to back off from Ryan, but it is still sad to hear.
Ryan’s dancing partner Cheryl Burke reacted to the incident: “I’m shocked and hurt for Ryan. He’s an amazing guy. He’s great, he’s kind, and he’s just here working his butt off and trying to do what he’s supposed to be doing, which is dancing. So I hope people give him a chance.”
Cheryl isn’t the only DWTS pro who had Ryan’s back last night. Derek Hough actually helped throw out the protesters in the audience. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Derek explained, “I basically told them aggressively that they need to leave because you don’t do that here. And I think that they looked like fools because [Ryan] just did a great dance and he’s out there doing what he can do. We’re all human beings,.”
Not only did Derek help quell the controversy, but he also spoke out about why he thinks the audience members were inappropriate: “I felt the energy in the room change. I’m really sensitive to that, honestly. I got really defensive, not just for Ryan, but for the ballroom, for the show.”
With that said, Derek wasn’t just trying to protect the integrity of the show. He also expressed that his sympathy for Ryan when he said, “All I know is we’ve all done stuff. We’ve all made mistakes. We’ve all done things and unfortunately, his was out in the open. But you know what, let’s all be there for each other, man. Let’s have some passion and let’s actually forgive. Let’s move on. Let’s look to the future and not the past.”
This is not going to be an easy ride for Ryan. It will be very interesting to see how long he last in the competition and how he continues to be perceived.

Vicki Gunvalson Doesn’t Care If She Ever Sees Shannon Beador Again; Gives Health Update Post-Crash
The Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson sat down in a new interview to chat about the permanent damage she has suffered because of the Glamis accident. She also touches on her current relationships with Meghan King Edmonds and Shannon Beador. She also shares why her son Michael didn’t come to the hospital and reveals what ex-husband Donn said when he was called.
Vicki says she’s doing fine now, but still has some residual damage in her neck and back. She says she’ll probably always have compressed discs now. But she’s remaining positive, “it could’ve been worse.”
She continues, “I had a severe concussion. It’s a really a really weird feeling. You feel very sleepy, you just want to go to sleep. And a lot of problems with getting words out. And a lot of post-traumatic issues, we all had trouble sleeping for about two months. Lots of noises in the head. But now I’m good. I just know I’ve got a weak neck and back and I have to be careful.”
Vicki tells E! Online that watching the accident unfold on the episode made her bawl and wonder how they survived it. “We were going fast, too. We were going 40-50 miles an hour when we rolled.”
Did the accident bring Vicki, Heather, Tamra and Kelly closer together? “Absolutely. When they came to the house, we were all just looking at how fortunate we were to be together. It really makes you think about ‘why do we have to fight’?” She says it makes her want to stop the fighting and mean behavior and just to resolve things in a calm manner, but the show doesn’t always allow that to happen.
Vicki says that Meghan has reached out to her and apologized for her initial reaction (or lack of one). Meghan told her she would’ve reacted differently had she seen the accident. “They were getting not really complete information. Like ‘oh we rolled, Vicki got airlifted and she’s going to be released later.’ I was there 10 hours, I had nobody with me. I was unconscious, I had a morphine drip. I was released with hospital scrubs on and I went in an Uber home for two and half hours. I cried the whole way and wondered if this is what life is – you’re hurt and nobody comes to your rescue.” Vicki is pretty talented if she could Facetime and text while unconscious….
Vicki says that she’s forgiven Meghan because Jesus says to. “That’s when the true character of a person comes out. I forgave Meghan. Shannon has not asked for forgiveness. She keeps wanting to say that I lied on the cancer scam and I didn’t. I don’t know how many times I’m going to tell her that. I don’t know how many times she’s going to continue this. We’re over a year out of a bad relationship I was in. I’m done talking about it. If she wants to continue talking about it, that looks bad on her. I’m over it.”
Vicki adds, “We’re not in a good place. I really don’t care if I ever see her again.”
She says their upcoming Ireland trip was nice but filled with issues and viewers will see that unfold in upcoming episodes. She says she’s a giver and not a receiver and we’ll see some things happen in Ireland that will reveal the character of the cast members.
This morning Vicki was a guest on Amy Philips‘ Sirius XM show and blasted Tamra over her comments last night on Watch What Happens Live. Vicki says she did not WANT to be airlifted. She could move her neck because she wasn’t paralyzed, just injured. She’s over Tamra. Vicki says she has over $200K in medical bills and was out of work for three weeks. Also, she says the reason that Michael didn’t come to the hospital is that he was out of town. Someone even called Donn and he just said “let me know how she is” – even though he was very close by.
She also tells Amy that they need to do a sweep of the cast and “get the garbage out” for next season.
TELL US – WILL SHANNON AND VICKI EVER MAKE UP? IS VICKI EXAGGERATING HER EXPERIENCE/INJURIES IN THE HOPE THAT EVERYONE SORT OF FORGETS ABOUT THE CANCER MESS?

Brandi Glanville Says Yolanda Hadid Is NOT Joining Real Housewives of New York; Dishes On Latest Projects, Kim Richards and More
Former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville was a guest on Amy Phillips’ Sirius XM radio show this morning. She dished on her besties Yolanda Hadid and Kim Richards and shared her thoughts on the ladies of The Real Housewives of New York and more!
Brandi explains that her family talked to someone on Friday who “speaks to the other side” and that was the trigger for her panic attack. So her Tweet wasn’t about her supposed back taxes report. I’m going to guess she was being taped for an episode of the Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry? She didn’t specify, so we’ll have to wait and see.
On her making that appearance on RHOBH’s reunion. She says she didn’t want to sit on the couches with them, but was cool with recording it instead.
On the ladies of RHONY: “I think they’re all a little cracked out on New York. Don’t they seem like they’re high as kites?” Amy says that the subject did come up at the reunion that some of them might be coked out. Brandi agrees, “It seems like that when you watch it! And they’re all skinnier than us! They gotta be doing lines. These bitches are cracked out.”
On Yolanda Hadid no longer doing Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: “I think it’s the best thing for Yolanda not to be on the show. It’s such a hard show to do and it’s so stress-inducing. She has enough problems. So, with Lymes and all of that, the stress doesn’t help. I think she’s in a better place. She’s still battling her disease but she’s out and about, she’s at Fashion Week seeing her daughters, but she’s still going through her treatments.”
Brandi says she heard the rumors of Yolanda joining Real Housewives of New York but says they’re not true. She is still close friends (and not Hollywood friends) with Yolanda.
She also is still hanging with Kim Richards and says they had a girls’ day out the other day – seeing a movie and grabbing Mexican food together. “She’s a nutcase and I love her to death and she’s great!” Brandi jokes that Kim is crazier sober than when she’s not.
On her upcoming projects, Brandi says she just finished filming My Kitchen Rules for FOX. Brandi jokes that she thought the show would be all about cooking and be mellow, but says it’s “Housewives with food! It was HELL! I think I dropped the F-Bomb more on the FOX show than I did on Bravo. So there’s a lot of bleeping.”

Camille Grammer Confirms She’s Filming Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills; Is She A Full Time Cast Member?
On the first season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Camille Grammer was enemy number one, but she turned it around in Season 2 and became one of my favorite Housewives of all time. As soon as we all started to love her, she left our beloved show and I – being the overly invested person I am – was devastated. Sure, Camille has made cameo appearances here and there, but is she coming back to Real Housewives of Beverly Hills as a full time cast member?

Believe me when I say I have my fingers crossed about this possibility. I’m sure we won’t “officially” know the truth for a while, but there has been a lot of buzz about Camille filming with the rest of the RHOBH cast. She’s finally addressed the speculation.
The good news is that Camille will be back on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The (possibly) bad news is that she is probably just making cameo appearances instead of being involved with the show as an official Housewife.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Camille confirmed, “We are filming now.” She didn’t reveal what her status is as a cast member and I’m not sure if she is just not allowed to say anything or if it’s possible that she doesn’t know if she will be a full time cast member or a friend of the housewives.

Camille also said, “We are in the throes of it now, and we had a fun party last week in Malibu, so you will see that in the show and that was really exciting.” She keeps saying “we” instead of “they” so this gives me hope that she will be contributing more than cameo appearances.
Camille seemed pretty involved when she said, “There is drama this year, and there is a different type of drama. I don’t know, I don’t think that I can say too much, but um, our show never lacks it. I can say that it never lacks the drama.” Those words make it seem like Camille will be around for a lot of the season, doesn’t it? Or maybe I just have some confirmation bias as a big fan.
It is most likely that Camille will be back as a part time cast member, and as much as I want her to be on the show more, I get why she wouldn’t be: making occasional appearances gives her attention and money all while keeping her out of the thick of constant drama. Camille gets the best of everything in that scenario. The only people who suffer are the super fans like myself.

Thomas Ravenel Confirms Fourth Season Of Southern Charm; Cooper Ray Says He Will Not Return
Well this is a first! Someone other than Thomas Ravenel is exiting the hot mess express otherwise known as Southern Charm. And, in a somewhat ironic twist of events, the controversial cast member who constantly threatens to quit (but never does) is confirming the hit show’s fourth season.
Y’all know what that means… I’m going to be fan girling all the cast’s favorite hot spots here in the Holy City (and hopefully eating some delicious food while I’m at it!) as the crew begins filming for the upcoming season. Cash in some of your mailbox money and pour yourself a dressing drink – they are back! Well, most of them, at least.

Cooper Ray announced on his Twitter that he won’t be returning for another go-round. The purveyor of lovely ascots and snark was shunned by his peers (led by former friend Patricia Altschul) after he befriended Kathryn Dennis. Kathryn’s volatile relationship with T-Rav has been front and center since the show began, and three seasons – and two children – later, its drama is still the epicenter of Southern Charm.
Sharing a picture of the cast with the phrase “Ciao for now” covering their faces, Cooper tweeted, “It’s been fun and it’s been real. But.. You know the rest. Thus, I have retired from @Bravotv #SouthernCharm”

While some will speculate that Cooper wasn’t asked to return, I’d venture he’s leaving on his own terms in hopes of pursuing other opportunities. I’m sure we’ll hear more from him in the upcoming months, as he’s never been one to stay mum when there is shade to be thrown. Who is going to hang out with Kathryn and remind Thomas that threatening and insulting guests is unbecoming?
That remains to be seen, as does Kathryn‘s return. The troubled reality star is mom to two-year-old Kensie and 10-month-old Saint Julien with on-off-way-off beau T-Rav. According to Fitz News, Kathryn just returned from a rehab stint in California and has yet to commit to another season.
REALTED: Thomas Rants About Kathryn and Southern Charm
Oddly enough, Thomas, who takes to social media about once a week to trash talk the show and denounce any future involvement with it, has confirmed the new season in a voicemail to a mystery lady. The site is still trying to obtain permission to publish said voicemail, but asserts the audio has T-Rav claiming the filming will last for several months.
He goes on to say that he needs to lose his “beer gut,” asking the phone call’s recipient for assistance in getting into shape and complimenting her “phenomenal physique.” Oh T-Rav. Some things never change. You are never going to shed your playboy ways, and the ladies who turn your head are never going to quit exploiting your advances for a quick fifteen seconds. All aboard!

Real Housewives Of Orange County Recap: Sorry, Not Sorry
OK, what? Is Meghan King Edmonds, who I don’t even like, supposed to be the Patron Saint Of Injured Vicki Gunvalson here on Real Housewives Of Orange County? Well, at least Vicki is finally getting ALL the casseroles her heart desires!
Last week, the ladies were in a frightening accident after Tamra Judge flipped their ATV in the Glamis Dunes. Vicki was airlifted to the hospital but poor lowly Tamra only got whisked away by ambulance.
Heather Dubrow and Kelly Dodd, luckiest stars in the Bravo galaxy, celebrate their survival with some judgey phone calls in between many glasses of champs (and one PTSD-flavored beer). First, Heather called Meghan to let her know Vicki was at the Palm Springs hospital, so could Meghan please just abandon waiting for Shannon Beador‘s arrival at La Quinta to rush over and check on Vicki.

Briana can’t go because she’s soooooo deathly ill (not too ill for Merv Griffin’s estate!), plus has kids, plus has PET scans (did Meghan verify that?), and has no sympathy for Vicki’s likely exaggerated injuries.
Michael is ummmm… permanently indisposed?
By the time Shannon arrives, dressed like modern day Mrs. Roper tried culottes, Meghan had totally forgotten the accident occurred or that Vicki was in the hospital. Priorities! Meghan didn’t tell Shannon until hours later when they were on the golf course. This fact shocks the champs out of Heather’s buzz when she calls, mid-golf, to try again to persuade Meghan and Shannon. Meghan and Shannon are like, butttt we’re dressed for golf, not frienemy care-taking…
Shannon is also appalled that no one called HER first (since she loves Vicki so very much and all) and in that withering moment decided she shall not abandon more time to broadcast the perfect and palpable love between David and herself to rush off and attend to Vicki Vicki Probably Not So Sickie! Shannon smirks as David laughs that Vicki should “call Brooks” to come visit her. Meghan decides that, considering how much Vicki has “lied lied lied,” she’s doesn’t trust that she’s that injured!
Does anyone else feel that Shannon’s hatred of Vicki is disproportionate? I get her when she say she doesn’t want to pursue a friendship, but Shannon has a loathing towards Vicki that is deep-seated and seems, ummm, shall we say overwrought considering Vicki was essentially her reality television friend of ONE YEAR.
Since Heather continues chastising Shannon and Meghan for refusing to help Very Alone Vicki – the paramedics even cut off her clothes! – Meghan bitchily suggests that since Kelly and Heather are Vicki’s friends, not her, perhaps they should put down their champs and get into their own cars to see if Vicki is OK. Especially because, according to Meghan’s magical Mapquest, Glamis is also only 45 minutes away/ Heather is aghast that Meghan dare defy her and abruptly hangs up.
OK, I see both sides of the situation. On the one hand, if I were Meghan, I would have gone to the hospital – if anything because I’m nosy as hell and also because I’d want to be the bigger person (Cause hello – it’s on TV), but also because as Heather’s friend, I would have done it for her. PLUS, Meghan is like Medical Mysteries Detective; you’d think ol’ rubber-necker would leap at the chance to poke around Vicki’s medical records!
At the very least, I wouldn’t have reacted dead-souled, dismissive, and flippant like Meghan and Shannon did – like at least fake a better sympathy act! On the other side of the spectrum, Heather and Kelly WERE sitting there, getting toasted next to the campfire, bemoaning how they could have died, blaming their inability to leave on ‘shock’ (which I believe is possible), then expecting Meghan to fix everything.
Although Kelly did verify via Mapquest that they were actually two hours away, plus yeah, they did only have RVs (with little kids in tow), but in between all their lecturing, moral high grounding, and champs drinking I think one of them could have gotten a Bravo producer to give them a ride, being that it was such an emergency and Vicki was allll alone, scared, cold, and left to perish at the wheel of haphazard frienemies! Also, as Tamra mentions, Meghan could hit up Vicki’s birthday, but not drop by the hospital with some sweat pants? At least keep some consistency in your game, Edmonds. Is it haterade you’re drinking, or champs?
Later, Meghan and Shannon discuss Vicki’s birthday party and Shannon starts applying the pressure that Meghan resist the urge to be Vicki’s friend. Meghan is the pawn in the midst of the War of Vickerson Possession.
Meanwhile, Tamra is released from the hospital with Eddie by her side. Instead of rushing to the nearby hospital to check on Vicki, Tamra returns to the campsite to drink champs, sniffle that she could have killed all her friends, and to blame Shannon and Meghan for not joining the Vicki Gunvalson Nurse Corps.
Over dinner (or was it a rather unwieldy dessert?), Meghan reveals that she has been texting Vicki all day to check in on her, and although Vicki is in a neck brace, she texted photos from the accident. Shannon is aghast. If SHANNON were injured her focus wouldn’t be on FaceTime! Oh Shannon, Madame Over Sharer – YES. IT. WOULD. Ultimately, Shannon decides that, based on the “sick selfies,” Vicki is clearly playing the VICKtim by exaggerating her injuries. A Housewife and her sick selfie will never be parted!
Personally, I think that after a serious accident, better safe than sorry. It didn’t sound like VICKI was the one applying the pressure to Meghan and Shannon – Heather, Kelly, and Tamra were. And Heather was laying it on thick … letting Meghan know that with no one to fill her love tank Vicki was reduced to taking an Uber home from the hospital at 1 am with no clothes or purse, only a “paper hospital gown.” Apparently, this is also Meghan’s fault, because she could have brought Vicki sweat pants.
At this point, Jimmy Dad Jeans threatens to use his jazz hands to fight Heather if she keeps blaming Meghan. Meghan swells with pride – or maybe that was the itty bitty bean she calls a baby bump? Can we talk about how Meghan has replaced awful headbands with the most fried, dried, crispy awful hair this season? Girl needs some sort of cabeza intervention.
The next morning, Tamra calls Shannon and Meghan to bitch them out because the accident was actually extremely life-threatening and everyone could have died if Jesus weren’t their roll bar. Tamra is disgusted that Shannon and Meghan didn’t try to be more supportive. When Meghan insists they didn’t know it was that serious Tamra snaps “Go to hell!” and slams down the phone.
Why didn’t Meghan mention that she texted Vicki in the hospital? It seems prescient to at least inform Heather and Tamra that she’d been in contact. Meghan was sending emotional child support! It’s not cozy sweatpants, but its not complete coldhearted abandonment like Shannon, who gets a COMPLETE pass of blame from Tamra and Heather.
Meanwhile, Heather has PTSD. And Tamra is having nightmares. And Kelly is drunk and slurry-sorry that she preemptively judged Heather, who is SOOOO not a arrogant, moralizing, hubristic bitch, but an ANGEL! Heather bats her eyelashes, which turn into little wings to spirit her up, up, and away to the heavens. Surely she could have flown to the hospital on her halo – FOR VICKI.
Despite almost dying and despite the reoccurring nightmares of seeing her friends lives flash before her very eyes, Heather decides it was still a good trip. [SIDE EYE] Then it’s back to OC they go!
Back home, Meghan’s guilt trip has gotten the best of her so she brings Vicki a casserole. Oh wait – no, a candle. From her and Jim’s True Love Never Burns Out collection for the Bravo Home Shopping Network. Nothing says I’m concerned for your well-being like a promotional product!
Seeing Vicki in a neck brace, Meghan immediately starts FAKE blubbering that she cannot believe Tamra’s “reckless driving” almost killed everyone, and she had NO IDEA how serious the accident was since Heather was being so melodramatic, in between sips of champs! Vicki demures that Tamra was a totally safe driver, and then sniffles about how hurt she is that Meghan decided they weren’t friendly enough for her to visit the hospital. Which Vicki heard from Heather, who cares.
Then, Briana calls to mock Vicki for claiming her injuries are serious when Briana has the flu, which is a real illness. Look – everyone knows Vicki is an exaggerator. Isn’t that part of what makes her such judiciously bad-good TV (exempting that whole fake cancer ickness). Vicki will always WHOOP everything up to 11, making a big deal a bigger one. I’m 100% positive every single woman on this show knew that Vicki was gonna play the sympathy card and roll out the VICKtim act. Some of them chose to play into it – which is fine; some not. Tamra ALSO exaggerated the severity of things which is to be expected. What’s not to be expected is Little Miss Charlton Christian suddenly getting her judgey panties in a bunch about Shannon and Meghan’s response.
I think Heather felt rebuffed by Meghan and turned that around to be about Meghan rebuffing Vicki. Those in glass dune buggies shouldn’t cast stones.
Later, Heather, Kelly, and Tamra, also miraculously recovered, finally visit Vicki, who is in remarkably better spirits. She can barely speak or move but that’s OK because they’re all bonded for life now! Heather is shocked that Meghan beat them to the Vicki visit and can’t BELIEVE Meghan would drive to Vicki’s house – the same distance from La Quinta to the hospital to suck up on the post-op. Tamra is disgusted because Meghan is apparently going around town accusing her of causing the accident with reckless driving.
But most importantly: woe is Vicki – just as she likes it!
Poor Tamra has other Jesus fishes to fry! She feels off-kilter and unbalanced after the accident, and can’t train, so she has to postpone her fitness competition. Eddie encourages Tamra to take care of herself, because working out can wait. According to Tamra, it is now Eddie, not Jesus, who saved her. This girl has a lot of saviors for someone still so shit-stirring and bitchy.
And poor Shannon now realizes she’s the only asshole who hasn’t checked in on Vicki, so she half-heartedly calls in the midst of wandering through her house itemizing furniture she didn’t even know she had for the move. Some of the rooms Shannon hasn’t been into since BA (Before Affair), and she had no idea what sorts of stuff was in there. She appeared trepidatious – or maybe that was PTSD from having to call Vicki and fearing Vicki may actually pick up the phone! Luckily, Shannon was able to scrape by with a really frosty, insincere voice mail (Seriously – it’s better to not call than leave a message like that!).
Then, Shannon meets Heather and Tamra for a drink. Strangely no one is mad at SHANNON for refusing to visit Vicki in the hospital. All the blame falls squarely on Meghan. Heather now has new complaints to add to her litany: Meghan, who is supposed to be her good friend, never even called to check in on her to see how she’s doing in the aftermath! Did you know Heather can’t stop reliving the roll?! And Tamra keeps imagining what life would be like if she had Housewives blood on her hands (as if she doesn’t already!)! We could have had a Bravo does Lady Macbeth situation here! Instead of furiously trying to scrub imagined blood from her hands, Tamra would see spots of orange self-tanner and the remnants of false eyelashes clinging to her.
Shannon encourages them to cut Meghan a break – she’s hormonal and pregnant, after all, but Heather doesn’t care and is shocked by Shannon’s cavalier attitude at how Meghan treated her. Just so you know – this is all about Heather! So, is Vicki the one playing the victim?
The next day, Heather meets Meghan for lunch, but snippy informs an exhausted and pallid looking Meghan that she’s already eaten. After Meghan gets done telling Heather how she’s feeling super depressed since becoming pregnant and is alone because Jimmy zoomed off again, Heather rips into her for not showing care, compassion, and consideration to Vicki. Also, how DARE Meghan call Heather Serious Actress Dubrow “theatrical” and “patronizing” – Heather’s emotions naturally present like she’s the lead diva-bitch on a soap opera!
At first I thought pregnant, exhausted Meghan was gonna snap and let Heather have it for her holier than thou arrogance, but after Heather started ripping into Meghan over being called immature, Meghan decided that this time she would be the bigger person. She sighed, ate her watermelon salad, and swallowed her crow, then like a chastened child who suddenly realizes how to manipulate adults, apologized for not taking things seriously enough. Then Meghan reached across the table to squeeze Heather’s hand, and says, “I’m just glad you’re OK.” BURN.
Heather, momentarily unsettled by having Meghan stroke her ego just so subliminally, thanks her almost-former friend for the apology, fluffs her hair, and then scurries out. I wonder what caused Heather more distress: the accident, or no longer having a reason to hold Meghan’s ass over the campfire? Sometimes Meghan surprises me with her ability to cut through the BS just so subtlety.
TELL US – DID HEATHER OVER-REACT TO MEGHAN AND SHANNON? SHOULD MEGHAN AND SHANNON HAVE VISITED VICKI?
