New Below Deck Mediterranean Tonight- Love Triangle With Joao, Kasey, & Brooke Heats Up
The charter guests on Below Deck Mediterranean provide enough drama to sustain the show, but the antics between the crew members make it even more entertaining to watch.
There has been a season-long love triangle with Joao Franco, Kasey Cohen, and Brooke Laughton. Hannah Ferrier is striking up a romance with Conrad Empson. Meanwhile, Hannah is pretty offended by Brooke’s romantic interest in her sparring partner Joao. There is just so much tension on this yacht and even more drama to come during tonight’s new episode.
Below Deck Med is back with a new episode tonight at 9PM on Bravo. What can the fandom expect? According to an episode description on the Bravo website, “Joao solidifies the love triangle, leaving Kasey confused.”
And the love triangle kind of/sort of becomes a love square when Hannah gets offended that her friend is into her rival. The description says, “On the crew day off, Hannah feels slighted by Brooke when she pursues a relationship with Joao.”
In seemingly less exciting news, “Adam [Glick] gets ready for his chance at redemption as he goes foraging for food fretting the return of charter guests from last season.”
Apparently the budding romance between Hannah and Conrad hits a snag. since “tensions rise when Hannah doesn’t feel supported by Conrad leaving her stricken with anxiety. ”
And “Jamie [Jason] becomes very ill” which is sad and all, but we’ve barely seen her on this season, so as far as the viewers are concerned her absence will not really be felt- unless it stresses out the other crew members and they end up arguing.
We can also expect some more tension between Captain Sandy Yawn and Hannah since the episode description says “Captain Sandy must pull together a charter with one deckhand quarantined and her chief stew down for a mental health day.” Hannah took a mental health day? For what? Captain Sandy is already far from being the biggest Hannah fan. There’s pretty much zero chance that Captain Sandy is going to be on board with Hannah’s “mental health day.”

Ashley Darby Says Karen Huger “Needs To Learn How To Crawl Toward Authenticity”
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast members are not going to get away with lying if Ashley Darby is around. She is all about calling people out when they aren’t truthful. She’s not buying into Karen Huger’s vague descriptions of her financial status and living situation.
Ashley also let Monique Samuels and Charrisse Jackson-Jordan know that their names have been in each other’s mouths- very often. Ashley is messy and proud of it.
Ashley discussed the last episode in a Bravo blog post and of course she took the first opportunity possible to shade Karen. She wrote, “At the point in time that we were sitting at that restaurant in Cannes, I had about all I could take of Karen’s fables. It’s very hard for me to sit next to someone who doesn’t value truth yet claims that she ‘walks’ in it – she first needs to learn how to crawl toward authenticity.” That is easier said than done. Karen has been lying exaggerating all season long.
Ashley maintains, “By no means do I aim to contribute to Karen and Ray’s [Huger] issues; however, I firmly believe that Karen could be capable of actually understanding how fed up people are with being lied to. Because I think we can be genuine friends, it is worth confronting her for truthfulness. I gave her the option to step out of her comfort zone and build genuine relationships, yet access was again denied.” Karen loves keeping her life a mystery and Ashley lives to expose her. As long as those two scenarios remain true, these two will never be close friends.
Aside from calling out Karen on her now-customary untruths, Ashley told Monique that Charrisse felt like Monique was using her for her social contacts. In her blog post Ashley explained, “Monique and Charrisse had voiced such strong opinions about each other to everyone, but never discussed it amongst themselves. It became a huge elephant in the room that had to be addressed.” Thank you to Ashley for stirring that pot.
Ashley wrote, “I know Charrisse is a very genuine person, but I could sense she was not being true to what she actually felt. I’ve witnessed her take bullsh– for the sake of protecting other people and at this point in her life that isn’t necessary. If the friendship between Monique and Charrisse was real, then they should be able to take this blow and have their friendship be stronger than ever. The conversation that ensued demonstrated otherwise.” And it made for great television. Well done, Ashley.
She admitted, “I think Monique was truly surprised because up until this point Charrisse had been tiptoeing around the Kyndall [Douglas] issue. The ingredients were there, I just had to stir the pot to get things cooking.”
Speaking of Kyndall– the woman who was married to Gizelle Bryant’s recent boyfriend Sherman Douglas– Ashley admitted, “When Charrisse admitted that she masterminded the Kyndall Konspiracy, I was momentarily surprised. In the few years I’ve known Charrisse I haven’t witnessed any shady dealings, but we all have mischievousness deep inside and eventually, it surfaces. It made sense that she wanted to lightheartedly retaliate against Gizelle Bryant for the fireman comment, but it’s not in Charrisse’s nature to intentionally draw bad blood. The way the situation escalated told me that there was another influence involved.” By “another influence,” it is safe to assume she means Monique.
Monique decided to have a one-on-one conversation with Gizelle over the Kyndall situation during the last episode and it did not really go in her favor. Ashley remarked, “Gizelle’s ninja comment was interesting because it was evident she fully understood Monique’s intentions with bringing Kyndall around. Even though blame was being thrown back onto Charrisse, Gizelle was able to see through the lies.”
And then immediately after calling out Monique for lies, Ashley wrote, “I commend Monique on initiating the breakfast in the first place, and even enjoyed seeing her and Gizelle share a laugh. It gives hope to the two of them foraging a real friendship. I’m not holding my breath though!” That is quite the turnaround there.

Teen Mom 2 Recap: Trouble In Paradise
On this week’s episode of Teen Mom 2, we have gorgeous vacations, contentious custody arguments, adorable sibling moments and a whole lot of plastic surgery and fractured relationships. Let’s dive in.
Briana DeJesus: We start off in Miami with Briana and the Dr. Miami surgery storyline. Shirley is done with her surgery. Now that Javi has shown up it is awkward according to Briana. I’m a little confused because as of a couple weeks ago he was going to be the caretaker of both of them. Personally, I would think the awkwardness would come from being intimately dependent post-surgery on someone you’ve been with for five minutes (or not at all, as in the case of Shirley) and having cameras and crew documenting it to the world. But that’s just me. Despite complaining about him being there, Javi ends up in the car as they go to the Miami rental.
Devoin is helping take care of the kids while Briana gets elective surgery. We see him playing with Nova at the park. Briana meanwhile, brings Shirley into the rental. I can’t believe she is allowing herself to be filmed in such a vulnerable state. Javi overlooks everything awkwardly. The awkwardness is really the theme of all her segments this episode. Then he and Briana talk about the podcast and jealousy, despite not being together. He says he has a girl willing to move to Dover so Briana walks out and cries with Shirley.
Shirley then calls Javi in to talk to him while Briana sullenly sits in the living room. Javi says he could settle but doesn’t want to. They finally come to a lukewarm settlement of their own and he plans to stay for Bri’s surgery.
Hawaii: Similar to last episode, Leah Messer and Kailyn Lowry are combined as they vacation in Hawaii. Say what you will, but MTV got some beautiful shots of Hawaii. Sign me up for a visit! After some snorkeling and vacationing Leah and Kail discuss Ali’s mobility issues and the struggle Aleeah is having. Kids are apparently teasing Aleeah about how Ali walks and making fun of her sister to her. This combined with the extra attention Ali gets at home is having an impact on her. Honestly, it sounds pretty tough. Leah admits to being somewhat lost in how to handle it and how to parent. Kailyn suggests she seek out other parents who have kids with disabilities who may have personal experience. It is a pretty good suggestion.
As the Hawaiian vacation goes on, Kail gets a text from Chris asking who is taking care of the baby while she is gone. This is apparently only the second time Chris has ever expressed interest or wonder over who is caring for his child. He wants to see baby Lux so Kail coordinates with Bone (who is apparently the one babysitting). Leah calls Corey to check on the girls.
On the way back to the hotel, Leah laments that Corey seems more closed off when she is out of town. Kail says almost nothing for a long time letting her friend carry the conversation. They go horseback riding, which looked amazing. Then we find out that Bone got Lux back from Chris and he didn’t send anything. What did they expect him to send exactly? When we saw him send something previously didn’t they make fun of it as clueless and not the right stuff?
Kail and Leah end their vacation with skydiving.
Chelsea DeBoer: Chelsea goes out to eat with Randy and I was just completely lost in déjà vu. Technically Cole was there too, but I couldn’t get past what a flashback it seemed like to all those seasons past when Chelsea and Randy would meet up and eat at various restaurants – and baby Watson took over the role Aubree used to have! Where can I rewatch Season 2?!
Later, Chelsea and crew are taking Aubree to see Paislee. Aubree teaches her sister to bowl. They have to discuss Adam while the girls play. We’ve heard it all before, so I could really do without the Adam mentions. Cole is in the background playing with Watson, basically acting as the antithesis to Adam. Paislee even asks Aubree if Cole is her dad.
Jenelle Eason: Jenelle’s quality time with Jace apparently comes at therapy. Great.
Jenelle and David take complete advantage of her friendship with Jamie and pressure her into doing the next Kaiser drop-off with Nathan. Jenelle can’t go with David because they are filming (and he’s now fired!). Jenelle refuses to go alone because she’s the perpetual victim of her life’s choices. So Jamie decides that she can go the extra mile for her MTV paycheck as paid friend. She agrees to take responsibility of Jenelle’s parenting duties and meet Nathan. And frankly, thank goodness she does. Seeing Jamie playing and tickling Kaiser in the car is perhaps the most actual play and care we’ve seen him get in a long time! The drop-off is completely cordial. Nathan and his current girlfriend take Kaiser out to eat and Nathan mentions he is going to try some legal maneuvers to get more time with Kaiser.
We get a lot of Nathan this episode as he and the girlfriend take Kaiser mini golfing. I guess we can’t get much out of Jenelle since she refuses to do anything without David. Barb calls while they are out and tells Nathan what Jace said about David spanking Kaiser. They plan to meet for lunch. See what happens when you refuse, Jenelle?
Barb and Nathan meet to talk about Kaiser. Nathan filed a motion of contempt and he wants a psychological evaluation on Jenelle and David. Barb tells him she keeps calendars tracking all the pickups and most importantly missed visits. Nathan adeptly points out something most viewers have noticed and comment on: “when Jenelle was with me she was all about fitness, now that she’s with David she’s all about country.” Yes, her interests are pretty related to whomever she is with. Then they talk about the guns and generally how they feel helpless. Honestly, it sounds as bad as I fear. Alleged child abuse is not funny or a game.

Big Brother 20: Week 3 Alliance Update
For the first 2 weeks inside the Big Brother 20 house, there were 2 main alliances fighting for power and control, Level 6 and F.O.U.T.T.E. Now that Chris “Swaggy C” Williams left the building, there really isn’t anyone or anything holding together the F.O.U.T.T.E. alliance. For the second week in a row, a pseudo member of that alliance flipped their vote against F.O.U.T.T.E., and now one of those “flippers” is the new Big Brother 2018 Head of Household, Scottie Salton.
Scottie has made it his mission this week to make sure the Big Brother 20 house was more evenly divided, rather than allow the Level 6 alliance to control the numbers, and therefore control all the power in the house. To accomplish his mission, Scottie set out to target Level 6. He hit them where it hurt the most…he nominated both members of the house bromance, consisting of Winston Hines and Brett Robinson. Without a miracle in the form of the Power of Veto, Level 6 will be taking a big blow at the end of this week.
Let’s review what alliances remain inside the Big Brother 20 house during week 3. Level 6 is the largest alliance still intact with all of their original members, Winston, Brett, Kaycee Clark, Rachel Swindler, Angela Rummans, and Tyler Crispen. That looks to change this week baring a POV miracle for either Brett or Winston. In addition, JC Mounduix leans toward this side of the house, although he is not a founding member of the Level 6 alliance.

In week 3, Tyler still has his hand in the most cookie jars. Not only is he in the Level 6 alliance, but Tyler has deals with JC , Sam Bledoe, Kaitlyn Herman, and Scottie. So far this season, Tyler has secretly had the most power, while pulling the strings from behind the scenes, with Kaitlyn in particular. That run for Tyler may be over soon as many members of the now defunct alliance of F.O.U.T.T.E. have caught onto his shenanigans.
The disbanded F.O.U.T.T.E. alliance is now simply the “other” side of the house. Those members include Bayleigh Dayton, Angie “Rockstar” Lantry, Faysal Shafaat, Haleigh Broucher, and Scottie. Kaitlyn is a floater, as of now, but her loyalty still seems to be with this side of the house rather than the Level 6 houseguests. Sam is floating in the middle of the road right now, at least until she no longer holds the BB App Store Power.
If all goes as planned, Scottie should even the playing field this week by sending home a member of the Level 6 alliance. This would be the group’s first hit. And we shall see how they react, and more importantly, how they rebound from this week’s eviction.
Keep an eye on Tyler, because all things point to his reign ending rather soon. Scottie hopes to shake things up inside the Big Brother house this week. If he plays his cards right, he may do just that and walk away with some power inside the house. As always, we will have to wait and see how things play out.

Andy Cohen Shades Vicki Gunvalson’s “New Face’; Tamra Judge Says Eddie Judge’s Heart Procedure Didn’t Work
It would be nice to say that Season 13 of Real Housewives of Orange County started out with a bang, but that sadly is not what happened. At all. After a dismally boring Season 12, the Season 13 premiere was just OK. Pretty much nothing happened, but let’s hope that the ladies are just warming up.
Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador were on their A-Game when they were Andy Cohen’s guests on Watch What Happens Live last night. Again, let’s just hope that’s a good sign of what to expect this season.
Andy started out with an extremely shady “question.” He remarked, “We have some new faces on the OC this season and I’m not just talking about Gina [Kirschenheiter] and Emily [Simpson]. Vicki [Gunvalson] got another new one to celebrate Season 13.” Then he turned to Tamra and Shannon and said, “Ladies, what is your reaction to Vicki’s latest face?”
Tamra admitted, “I think it looks great.” Shannon concurred and said, “It does. It actually does.” Tamra shared, “She just got rid of this” while she pointed to the area under her chin.
Andy wondered, “Did she have that?” Tamra told him, “She had a little bit.” Shannon added, “She did and now I’m gonna be the only one left with it.”
Then the conversation got serious when Andy asked, “When was the last time you and David [Beador] were in the same room?” At first Shannon just said, “In the court room.”
Then she shared a funny anecdote: “I have to say, he came by the other day. He took [their dog] Archie. He came by and I was about to go on my walk and I lifted up my Cut Fitness shirt and go ‘take a look at this.'” Now that would have been a great scene on the show. If only the cameras were rolling that day.
Andy wondered, “How did he react?” Shannon revealed, “He just goes ‘Oh, congratulations.'” She was also asked about David dating someone else. Shannon shared that her daughter “Sophie is meeting her tomorrow night for the first time.”
Tamra and Shannon threw some amazing shade at one and done Housewife Peggy Sulahian. Tamra stated the obvious: “The hundredth Housewife was a fail.” Shannon remarked, “She can put that on her tombstone. I think it will be there.”
Andy asked Tamra about her husband Eddie’s [Judge] heart surgery. She confessed, “He’s OK. He’s not good, but he’s OK. He had another procedure on his heart and he’s healing, but it has set him into what is called a flutter. His heart rate is extremely high and he’s on a lot of medication. It doesn’t look like the procedure worked.”
She continued, “He’s a cyclist. We found out that this does happen to a lot of cyclists- professional cyclists. They pump a lot of blood through their heart and it just causes electrical problems.”
A viewer asked Tamra to “address comments she made about Doug [McLaughlin] being in the closet since she was so upset about Vicki doing it to her.” These comments made plenty of headlines. Tamra should have expected to be asked about it, but she didn’t seem too prepared to address the situation.
Tamra said, “It was a totally different situation. It was a stupid thing for me to say. We were at the Improv. We were poking fun of people. They posted a picture of him coming out in these very short, short, shorts in this very compromising kind of pose and I just cracked a joke.” Shannon quietly said, “We were just having fun.” Tamra followed up with “It’s the Improv. It’s what you do. You poke fun of people.” Not like that, Tamra. Not like that.

Big Brother 20 Spoilers: Live Feeds Day 27 Highlights: Kaitlyn Exposes More Game Secrets
Following yesterday’s dramatic Big Brother 20 night, Kaitlyn Herman continued to create drama. She made sure to throw a few more people under the bus before the day ended. Now it’s Tyler Crispen‘s personal mission to get Kaitlyn out the Big Brother 2018 house.
Meanwhile, operation save Brett Robinson from eviction took form, while opertaion expose Tyler and nominate Sam Bledsoe has just begun. Yesterday’s craziness really began when Kaitlyn decided to tell Scottie Salton everything.
Kaitlyn revealed to Scottie that she was the swing vote to get Steve Arienta out the Big Brother game. She also told him about Sam’s power, and how she thought if Sam was evicted, someone else would leave the game.
Scottie played it cool in front of Kaitlyn. However, later he showed his true anger about the situation. Scottie no longer trusts Sam and Tyler. In fact, Angie “Rockstar” Lantry and him figured out many ways that Tyler has been playing the entire house. Scottie now wants Sam and Tyler on the block as soon as possible.
He learned this information right before the Power of Veto ceremony, but didn’t use his Veto. The Veto ceremony was a topic of discussion today because Brett decided to make fun of Kaitlyn’s psychic abilities in his speech.
Kaitlyn’s psychic abilities must have taken a vacation, because she had no clue that Bayleigh Dayton let Sam know that Kaitlyn told everyone about her power. Sam eventually told Tyler, and now he wants Kaitlyn out the game even more.
Kaitlyn will really need to win this week’s Head of Household competition to help her target decrease. The backyard closed yesterday evening so Big Brother could start building the HOH competition, which we’re assuming will be some form of endurance one this week.
It sucks that someone will go through all the trouble of winning HOH this week, only to have it not count due to Sam’s power automatically going into play that week.

The Real Housewives Of Orange County Season 13 Premiere Recap: Team OC
Last night brought lots of changes for the Real Housewives Of Orange County. Most importantly they’re all getting along! In a scary, even realistic kind of way. Which means something horrible is probably going to happen that sucks the whole of the Pacific Ocean into Vicki Gunvalson and Shannon Beador‘s bodies so they can turn them into an epic tidal wave of hysterical tears. Am I excited about this prospect… I mean, yes and no.
Speaking of Shannon she has downsized in the divorce. Dreaded words there kids! So if you see a woman living under the freeway in a cardboard box featuring rococo mahogany legs, you will know it is Shannon! Terribly tragic.
Shannon probably has a sign outside her adorable new house (adorable despite its astroturf lawn, which admittedly heels don’t sink into so maybe there is logic) which reads “Downsized Divorcee Lives Here (tread lightly for fear of stepping in the shit).”
Shannon bemoans being forced to live in only a mere 4,000 square feet instead of 14,000, but the new place is much cuter than the un-rehabbed 80’s rental! That place had the depressing vibes of a Property Brothers fixer-upper, except those lovely people never showed up so Shannon and David just stayed, dragging their feet on the outdated floor tiles, until they all cracked. Despite her reduced circumstances Shannon seems slightly happier though, plus she’s making progress on her weight loss goals, so that’s all good!
Tamra Judge is also in a new place but for some reason is living through construction. All while Eddie is dealing with AFib (defibrillated heart) and must have surgery. This is stressful because now he won’t be able to lead 16+ glow-cycle classes in a single day followed by romancing Tamra’s stony heart. And what will CUT Fitness do without its intrepid leader – rely on TAMRA?!
Kelly Dodd moved to a very cute condo. Unlike Shannon, she seems thrilled, but maybe it’s because she’s also dating. A lot. She compares it to easy like “fishing with dynamite.” Which sounds scary and dangerous, because Kelly is the dynamite, right? Strangely she also denies dating – so I really can’t figure out what’s going on in that rejuvenated area! Kelly seems positively high on life, though, like a Nancy Reagan ad from my childhood.
Unfortunately, Kelly also seems to be overly relying on Jolie for emotional support and friendship. Jolie is doing 6th grade math, so I doubt she needs to hear the prime candidates for her mother’s evening proclivities. Or maybe Kelly plans to use her own dating life to teach Jolie math …
What’s definitely what I’d consider fishing with dynamite, is Vicki and Shannon meeting for coffee underneath a neon sign that reads “Good Vibes Only.” Is that the only way these two can learn to get along – if it’s literally spelled out in neon flashing lights?
When the camera first panned to Vicki sitting alone in the coffee shop I did a double-take and for a second thought it was Tamra who’d managed to class it up with a blazer. HA. Never that. Anyway, Shannon and Vicki have a timid sort of peace, baby-stepping into the friendship they once had. They talk about Shannon’s weight and divorce. A mere three months after separating David, finally freed from Shannon’s rules, is dating a woman 20-years younger. Isn’t that like a pre-requisite in the OC? Vicki, who must’ve had a partial lobotomy when she went in for her latest face work, actually deployed listening skills. I know right?! Who was that woman?!
At 5 am Tamra takes Eddie to the hospital. After surgery, she meets Ryan for coffee. Are you ready?! Because RYAN has shaved his beard. Now THAT is something to thank Jesus for, although it must have been like wrestling a wild boar and required a machete to get that gross hair off. He looks like a normal person finally! Oh, also Eddie’s surgery went OK, but he now needs to have an additional one. While Tamra is taming the wildebeest over hipster drip coffee, Vicki calls and offers to bring her juice. To Vicki, a juice and a casserole are the only cure-alls one needs. Screw western medicine! (Has she met Yolanda Former-Foster?)
Next Vicki and Kelly meet for dinner and poor Jolie is forced to tag along as the third wheel while they down vodkas and Kelly complains that she wishes Michael would make like David and snag a hot younger woman. Vicki plans to set Shannon up with one of Steve’s cop friends, which makes Kelly jealous. What about her – she also wants to be set up because averaging 3 dates a week x all the available men in Orange County = not enough. Poor Jolie covers her face and cringes (mirroring the rest of us) and even Vicki warns Kelly that Jolie is too young to be hearing this Golden Girls girl talk! Then Kelly announces that she, Vicki, Tamra, and Shannon should do a ropes course together to rebuild trust.
Tamra leaves Eddie’s side, where he is wallowing in construction dust and lack of exercise, to meet new housewife Emily Simpson for a leisurely hike. They discuss how Emily once betrayed Tamra for Gretchen, the White Witch. We should be careful saying her name lest she be summoned and pull from her plastic handbag all matter of sorcery in the form of ineffective botox or dangerous rumors about your husband’s predilections. Or just as bad: Slade. God knows none of us want the return of Gretchen Christine Puke-ay. Anyway, Emily once planned a party for Tamra, then she buddied up with Gretchen and Tamra’s ex BFF Ricky (whose name she won’t invoke) which was the ultimate stab in the back! Similarly, Emily thought she and Tamra were friends, and had NO idea (yeah right!) about Tamra’s years of fighting with Gretchen then found herself in the middle of an epic feud without even so much as a Bravo paycheck, so now she too has trust issues. Has she considered a ropes course? This Emily seems a wily one …
Anyway, now Emily is in therapy to resolve toxic relationships and the first person she thought to call, naturally, was Tamra. Cause Tamra = Toxic. Tamra and Emily hug, the universal housewife symbol for ‘I pretend to forgive but will never forget should the need for drama and storyline arise,’ and Emily is hired to plan Tamra’s housewarming party. In the unfinished house? Who does Tamra fancy herself to be – Heather Dubrow?!
Then we are introduced to Emily at home, an attorney by day; party-planner by night. She also has three kids: Annabelle, Luke, & Keller and is married to Shane. They were friends for years until one random day Shane proposed OVER GOOGLECHAT – and they got married a couple weeks later. “It’s weird, I know,” Emily admits, surprisingly presciently and sheepishly. While eating what I think is dinner off weird plastic plates with crap all over the table they lose one of their three-year-olds inside their enormous house only to find him on the sofa in the family room right near where they are sitting.
Tamra leaves Eddie again to visit Shannon in her microscopic house. It’s so diminutive I’m surprised she can get through the door. Alas, like Alice turning giant and being forced to stoop, Tamra scuttles inside and decides it’s high time Shannon take off that wedding ring! She drives this point home by suggesting that David started seeing his current flame before he had even separated from Shannon. Shannon struggles because she’s still attached. To her, the ring symbolizes being a wife and mother and a woman who could afford a 14,000 square foot house with a basketball court, and now what – she’s just a middle-aged divorcee competing with gold diggers.
In ultimate symbolism, of the best kind, Shannon actually can’t get the ring off. She needs an enema for that finger! It takes Shannon and Tamra, working together with soap and hot water, to finally pry it from her finger. Errrr… awkward. “I feel naked,” says Shannon, stroking her bare-knuckle and looking strangely euphoric.
Finally Kelly, Vicki, Tamra, Shannon head to the ropes course which has all the drama you can expect from 4 crazy women doing a normal suburban activity. Isn’t it so fun seeing them all as friends though, and laughing over Kelly’s sex with the milkman while Shannon is on a 17-year dry spell. I do hope things stay this way!
Seconds into the ropes course they’re all making thinly veiled barbs about why they don’t trust each other, but everything is righted when Vicki tumbles, ass over teacups, trying to put on the harness and sit down at a picnic bench at the same time! She blames the course instructor for pushing her, of course, and Tamra yells, “It’s always somebody else’s fault!” There’s some math – Tamra has Vicki’s number pegged. It’s also great irony to demonstrate how Vicki should never, ever trust herself. HA.
Shannon hyperventilates on a wobbly rope ladder, but not to be upstaged Vicki has a full-fledged screaming meltdown because her finger gets stuck. Vicki and Shannon started by shrieking encouragements at each other, until Shannon took a misstep onto a rope that was under Vicki’s hand or something. My TV eventually didn’t reach that decibel – it sounded like cats mating in an alleyway, but it was actually Vicki just begging for her finger’s life while Shannon bawled an apology and Tamra and Kelly – the sane ones! – screamed instructions. Maybe Vicki needed her hand amputated or had broken a nail, but mercifully they all made it through until they had to shove each other from the zip-line platform.
Pushing each other off a metaphorical cliff was probably the best therapy these ladies could find! To new beginnings #6893756289664! So, just so you know – all it takes to resolve trust issues in Orange County is neon-colored athleisure wear and a couple histrionic moments on a playground apparatus. Welcome back, girls!

Southern Charm Savannah Recap: Second Time’s (Not) The Charm
So last night was the season two premiere of Southern Charm Savannah, and I’ll let you decide if it should have been #RenewedByBravo. After its weak initial run, the show didn’t get nearly the traction as its franchise flagship. Now, on the heels of an explosive and exceedingly popular season of Southern Charm, will Savannah be able to keep up any momentum? Only time will tell.
I know you forgot who these people were. Don’t feel bad, I did too. Allow me to provide you with a quick breakdown before the recap. Catherine Cooper will never hold a candle to the Kathryn Dennis comeback kid. You recall she turned down the proposal from her on-again, off-again beau Lyle MacKenzie to create some finale drama. Her bestie and mentor Brandon Branch joins the cast as a full-time player after many a cameo on season one. Hannah Pearson dates Louis Oswald. You remember them because she cries a good bit and has a lot of random ambitions, and he’s an overgrown frat boy with a sock collection and penchant for funneling beer. Daniel Eichholz is the hot guy who took over his father’s law firm and works hard to never offend. He’s minimal drama at best. You remember Happy McCullough…oh wait, you don’t. You don’t remember Hagood Coxe either, but, as opposed to the case with Happy, it’s because Hagood wasn’t a part of the cast last go-round. Ashley Borders was the resident society rebel who may have had a moonlighting gig at the baggage terminal for Delta. Caught up? Yeah, I won’t remember them next week either…
After reminding us of the thwarted proposal, the show opens with Catherine’s new apartment. Turning thirty-three hit her hard. Jobless, manless, and clueless, she welcomes her father into the giant, historic, downtown pad he’s paying for through the nose. He apologizes for putting so much pressure on her to marry Lyle. Geez, he does favor his brother, Oscar-winning actor Chris Cooper from American Beauty. Just a fun fact for you! Catherine shares that she and Lyle have taken some time but are now on the path to a committed relationship…or breaking up again. She tries to explain to her dad that she desires a courtship with Lyle while they are living in the same city, but it doesn’t change the fact that Lyle’s feelings are incredibly hurt. One or the other. Lyle shares the same saga with Louis on the golf course. Louis urges his friend to put his foot down, but Lyle prides himself on being non-confrontational. Louis hates that his friend is being so disrespected. All of Savannah is gossiping about what Lyle refuses to see. Lyle ends the lecture with his goofy laugh.
Daniel and Hannah are heading out on a picnic. They catch-up over finger foods and Bocci ball. Daniel has hung up his party life in favor of furthering his career. He has learned a lot working at his father’s law firm, but it’s losing its luster. Daniel is itching to start his own business. Speaking of entrepreneurs, interior designer Brandon is cocktailing with his husband Jim. The couple chats about their upcoming eleventh anniversary. In lieu of recreating a former Italian getaway, Brandon wants to throw a lavish fete. He dishes on Catherine and Lyle’s dysfunctional relationship while pondering the guest list.
That evening, Catherine meets Hannah for dinner and drinks. Hannah admits that she and Louis are taking a break. After five years together, Hannah wishes they were much farther along in their relationship, but Louis clearly isn’t ready for the next step. Catherine concedes that Louis may not yet be prepared to give up the party scene. The girls are joined by newbie Hagood who is dating one of Catherine’s friends from high school. Hagood reveals that Lyle has been bending her ear about his relationship with Catherine. Hannah thinks Catherine is overly rationalizing her situation with Lyle. She needs to stop analyzing everything and listen to her heart.
Hagood is prepping her downtown digs for a visit from her mother. Hagood is from the raging metropolis of Darlington where her family owns a thriving rice plantation. Hagood wants to spearhead her family’s next endeavor–a sake (sahh-KAY, if you’re Hagood) business. Her day job is being a scientific illustrator, but it doesn’t pay the bills. Her mother, who has a lot of opinions, wishes her daughter would focus more on art and less on Japanese alcohol. The following day, Hagood, a self-proclaimed tomboy, heads out fishing in Bluffton with Daniel and Louis. She scores the first catch of the day. Louis opines about being dumped by Hannah, which is different from her “taking a break” version. How very Ross and Rachel! Louis is losing himself in his sock business, and he’s worried he’s just going to get farther away from wanting something serious. Hagood counsels Louis not to waste Hannah’s time if he’s not willing to put a ring on it. She claims that Southern women are expected to be halfway down the altar before thirty, so he shouldn’t continue to waste Hannah’s time. Daniel is blown away by Hagood’s assessment. She should be a therapist!
On the day of his anniversary party, Brandon is transforming his backyard into a formal fantasy land. He’s joined by his party planner and over-the-top caterer who is ready to deliver on tomato sandwiches and cheese straws (yum). A few blocks away, Hannah meets Louis in the park. She wants to talk to him about Brandon’s party. They’ll both be in attendance, but neither is going with a date. She jokes that she’s riding with their mutual pal Daniel because she got him in “the divorce.” On that topic, Hannah wishes that Louis would stop telling people she dumped him. They are taking a break so he can focus on bettering himself and being accountable. Not to be a nag, but Hannah needs Louis to prove himself. He encourages her to take this time to meet some “new friends” as in another guy. When she takes offense, he claims to be teasing. It’s too late. Hannah storms off and Louis seems majorly relieved.
The Savannah crew preps for Brandon and Jim’s soiree. Brandon jokes that people in Savannah take cocktails very seriously because it is frowned upon to pop Xanax in public. Preach, Brandon. Lyle arrives to escort Hagood, and he educates her on what to expect while chugging his drink in anticipation of facing Catherine. Meanwhile, Hannah goes to fetch Daniel who missed the dress code memo. At the party, Louis teases Catherine about being one of the boys. He’s jealous that she’s (f)un-employed, but she counters that she worked hard to get to a place where she could take time off from the daily grind. Sure she did. Hannah clings to Catherine, nervously laughing about her earlier conversation with Louis. Can Catherine believe that Louis suggested she get new friends? He was probably insinuating that Hannah’s friends like Catherine and Lyle aren’t good at relationships so she should find some better role models for their ongoing love story, right? RIGHT?? Catherine giggles, but she knows Louis was telling Hannah nicely to cut the cord.
Hagood gifts her hosts with some sake (not her own), and Brandon loves the way the word crashes off her tongue. He cheers, “Sahh-KAY, I’m so gay!” He’s a refreshing full-time addition to this group for sure. Catherine awkwardly compliments Lyle on his tie, but he’s not biting. The tension is placed on hold as Brandon gives a sweet toast to his true love. Catherine corners Lyle and requests a private chat. They find a quiet park bench. She choppily tries to piece together sentences which gloss over the fact she completely humiliated him and end with the revelation she’s ready for a serious boyfriend now because everyone else is coupled up they are good together regardless of what happened in the past. He isn’t putting up with her willingness to sweep things under the rug. Lyle is peeved that she is disregarding how she treated him after all he did for her to make their long-distance relationship work. He burned up the highway. He gave her a credit card. WHAT?? Why is she now just realizing how great he was to her? Catherine suggests they go to a counselor. Lyle is willing, but again, he’s confused as to why she didn’t take that recommendation when he begged her to go. Why now? He remains a gentleman but admonishes her as to why she’d think someone would ever propose twice. Maybe someday she’ll realize what she lost. Ouch.
