Robyn Dixon Slams Candiace Dillard: “Name-Calling And Age-Shaming Were Extremely Immature And Disrespectful”

Robyn Dixon Slams Candiace Dillard: “Name-Calling And Age-Shaming Were Extremely Immature And Disrespectful”

New girl Candiace Dillard isn’t wasting any time making enemies on Real Housewives of Potomac. As expected, Gizelle Bryant couldn’t stand her right from the jump. Gizelle has never warmed up to the new cast members, so that wasn’t shocking.

During the last episode, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan asked if Candiace’s mom bought her engagement ring. Candiace didn’t react to the comment right away but she acted out for camera time confronted her about it later on- in front of the whole cast.

Robyn Dixon stayed out of the drama on the last episode, but she had a lot to say about everything that went down in a Bravo blog post. Robyn wrote, “I believe Charrisse was joking, but I definitely think that asking Candiace if her mother bought her engagement ring was pretty damn shady.” Of course, it was shady. Charrisse is doing whatever she can to earn that Friend of the Housewives paycheck.

Robyn explained, “I really stayed out of the ‘Candiace’s mom pays for everything’ talk because I really didn’t see an issue with her mother financially contributing to her lifestyle. But, since Candiace had shared so much information about her lifestyle, I can see why the ladies felt the freedom to probe Candiace even more, even in a jokingly shady way.” If they didn’t probe Candiace, this would be a very boring show.

Robyn stated the obvious: “The clash between Candiace and Charrisse was very unnecessary and got completely out of hand.” Of course it did. That’s what always happens on reality TV shows.

Robyn continued, “No woman likes to be called a bitch, so I can understand Charrisse’s reaction upon hearing the words ‘shady bitch,’ especially since Candiace had no problem with Charrisse’s ring question when she said initially.” Candiace didn’t refer to Charrisse as a “shady bitch.” Candiace described her remark as a “shady bitch comment.”

Robyn said, “It felt like Candiace was pumped up to all of a sudden clap back at every little comment and had something to prove. On top of that, the name-calling and age-shaming were extremely immature and disrespectful.” Of course, she was “pumped up.” She has no idea if she will be a one and done cast member or if she will get asked back for another season. She needed this big moment.

Robyn wrote, “Again, that was another unnecessary blowup. I completely agreed with Gizelle about Candiace owing Charrisse an apology. I don’t think Gizelle was coming from a confrontational place when suggesting that Candiace apologize to Charrisse.” Really? Gizelle not coming from a confrontational place? That will be the day…

Robyn concluded, “But in order for us ladies to move forward and have a great time at Nemacolin, the air needed to be cleared, and peace needed to be made. So once again, it felt as if Candiace really had something to prove when she started going at it with Gizelle. Despite what some people think, every disagreement does not have to be met with an argument, name-calling, raised voices, or a shady retort!” It doesn’t, but this show would be very boring if the disagreements lacked name-calling, raised voices, and shady retorts.

Bethenny Frankel Insists “No One Judged Dorinda Medley At All” During The Puerto Rico Trip

Bethenny Frankel Says “No One Judged Dorinda Medley At All” During The Puerto Rico Trip

That last episode of Real Housewives of New York was awkward to watch. It was clear that Dorinda Medley had a sincere interest in Bethenny Frankel’s disaster relief work, but it just didn’t go as planned thanks to alcohol consumption.

She tried to ask questions about the work at dinner with Bethenny’s team, but the editing team had to put subtitles over the jumbled, drunken words. That had to be so awkward for Bethenny to live and for both of them to watch. On top of that, Bethenny called Dorinda a “drunk” which is a big deal in general, let alone on a very popular reality TV show.

Bethenny reflected on the episode in a Bravo blog post. She theorized, “Perhaps I brought Dorinda because I sensed she needed a change.” She continued, “Had anyone else asked me (Luann [de Lesseps] did, in fact, ask to come), I certainly would have included them. Dorinda was curious about what I was doing at my birthday party, so I invited her. I’m sure you can understand why this wasn’t a group Housewives activity.” Turning this into a cast activity would never go well.

Bethenny clarified, “I felt tremendous compassion for Dorinda during that dinner and trip. I realized, while watching, that it triggers me and takes me back to my childhood. I won’t go into much detail, but I have experience with people acting irrationally while under the influence.”

She explained, “Nobody’s perfect. I worked on these missions with people with troubled and checkered pasts, brushes with the law, battles with addiction, lack of meaning in life, terrible divorces, death — you name it. No one was judging Dorinda at all. I simply know that this is becoming a pattern around me, and it makes me uncomfortable.”

Bethenny concluded, “Charity attracts all walks of life good and bad. Tune in next week!” Oh, we will.

Southern Charm Recap: Nico Suave

Southern Charm Recap: Nico Suave

Is it just me or is the gang from Southern Charm growing up before our very eyes? What’s with all the maturity and decent life choices? Listen, I realize they still have a long way to go, but I’m proud of this motley crew!

Cameran Eubanks has a stubborn cervix, so her OB may have to induce labor. She calls husband Jason with this news, but as an anesthesiologist, he has nary a reaction. He gives epidurals all day, every day. She warns him not to be one of those husbands who says “we’re in labor,” and I love it! Meanwhile, Kathryn Dennis is on the phone with Marshall, the owner of Gwynn’s department store, which is a very she-she and expensive place to shop. She’s hoping to work with them in some capacity, but there isn’t exactly a position available. However, he’s always willing to speak with people who could potentially be a good fit, so they set up an interview time. It’s nice to see Kathryn minding her Ps and Qs again.

Naomie Olindo is helping with the opening of her family’s restaurant. Her father owned several restaurants in France, but Nico’s will be his first in Charleston. She’s impressed with the menu and looking forward to the soft opener. On Shem Creek, Austen Kroll and Craig Conover get together to dish on Austen’s party and the lashing Peyton received thanks so Naomie. At Nico’s, which is right across the street, Naomie shares what happened with her father, and he urges her to apologize. She wasn’t raised to be mean or aggressive. She calls Austen to ask for Peyton’s number and also invites him to the soft opening of Nico’s. Craig chimes in to see if he’s included as well. Naomie rolls her eyes, but extends an olive branch to Craig. He jokes that he’ll bring Peyton as his plus one, but in truth, he’ll be out of town. Naomie is relieved. She plans to ask Peyton to Nico’s, but she also likes keeping some distance between the would-be social climber and her ex-boyfriend.

Southern Charm Recap: Nico Suave

After dinner with his parents, Austen got the kick in the pants he needed. He’s heading to my hometown of Greenville to meet with Thomas at Thomas Creek Brewery. The pair tours the facilities, and Austen is drawn to passion fruit and grapefruit, and he’s totally speaking my beer language. Austen admits to doing extra research when it comes to his beer. For $400, he can get a test batch with almost sixteen kegs. Back in Charleston, Shep Rose picks up Cameran for lunch, and she convinces him to take a few trips down Chalmers Street, a cobblestone street once jokingly called Labor Lane as the bumpiness could induce labor. Cameran is worried she let a little pee slip out so Shep calls it. They hit up Brown Dog for lunch in lieu of more cervix shuffling. Cameran grills Shep on his future goals, but she’s all but given up on him ever settling down and getting married.

Patricia Altschul is hosting Craig in her home to discuss his recent issues. Michael the butler, fetches the dogs and mixes some cocktails. Pat offers Craig the opportunity to design a pet pillow for her company. Craig is excited for the chance to be a designer, but the looming decisions alone are enough to paralyze him into lethargy. Patricia tries to offer a pep talk but finally tells Craig she believes a design will come to him. He’s got two weeks to get her a prototype.

Southern Charm Recap: Nico Suave

Kathryn heads to Gwynn’s for her interview, she’s nervous but she’s ready to sell herself. Meeting with Marshall and his daughter Madison, Kathryn stumbles over her answers and her nerves completely get the best of her. It’s incredibly awkward to watch. After a brief moment with friend Madison, Kathryn pulls herself together to finish the discussion. Sort of. In West Ashley, Shep heads to Chelsea Meissner’s salon for a much needed haircut. As they discuss the evening at Nico’s, Shep is surprised that Naomie invited Peyton. He reveals that he thinks Peyton would be a good fit for Craig. Austen is too much of a partier on the bar scene bedding lady after lady. Chelsea takes Shep’s stories with a grain of salt. He always tries to make Austen look bad to her. It’s like a minor punishment for Chelsea picking Austen over Shep.

Thomas Ravenel and Ashley Jacobs are getting ready for the opening of Nico’s. Ashley is taking her own sweet time getting ready as T-Rav brags about his bespoke jacket and his silver belt buckle decorated with the Ravenel family crest. Ashley feigns hurt after not getting a text back from Kathryn after their lunch. She really wants Kathryn to reconsider her decision not to join her, T-Rav, Kensie and Saint when they go trick-or-treating. Thomas notes that Kathryn is making a mature decision, and Ashley should refrain from pissing off the mother of his children by continuing to bring up the subject.

The crew convenes on Nico’s, and T-Rav approaches Kathryn for a hug. He stands awkwardly as she chats with Danni Baird. Ashley follows her beau, and T-Rav turns on the charm…flirting unmercifully with Kathryn while Ashley watches. When Chelsea arrives at the restaurant, Cameran jokes that both Austen and Shep missed their shot with her. Chelsea relays to Austen that he’s now the Shep of two years ago, according to Shep. Austen is peeved because he’s certainly not that guy. However, he’s not going to confront Shep for the smack talk. Chelsea is disappointed. Passiveness is not a trait she finds attractive.

Southern Charm Recap: Nico Suave

Peyton shows up, and Naomie recognizes it is time for her to put her tail between her legs and make amends. Kathryn reminds her to kill Peyton with kindness. Peyton likens Naomie’s lashing to middle school mean girl, and she cringes when she sees Naomie sidle up to her for a hug. Naomie pulls her aside for an apology. Peyton assures Naomie that she isn’t after Craig, but Naomie interjects that her behavior isn’t acceptable even if Peyton was into Craig. She let jealousy get the best of her and projected onto the wrong person. Also, she finally admits she’s not over Craig. Thanks for the update Captain Obvious.

Everyone sits down for dinner, and Austen winds up between Chelsea and Peyton. Shep is gossiping with Whitney Sudler-Smith about how uncomfortable Austen looks and how hot Chelsea is. On cue, Chelsea starts batting her eyelashes at Craig to prove to Shep that, once again, he has no chance with her. At the other end of the table, Kathryn is proud that she feels nothing while watching T-Rav sloppily make out with Ashley in front of the mother of his children. She excuses herself to go talk with Shep. He’s nostalgic over their past friendship while staring at her a bit longer than a friend would.

Southern Charm Recap: Nico Suave

Austen then slides into Shep’s seat to complain about Shep’s recent stories about him. As his voice raises, Thomas and Ashley leave the table to join Shep and Kathryn. T-Rav claims its because he’s uncomfortable around Austen’s shiz talking, but it’s obvious he is just patrolling Kathryn’s whereabouts and doesn’t trust Shep for a second around his ex. Forever the pot stirrer, Whitney summons Shep to defend himself. Austen’s anger fizzles because it’s more important for him to be liked by Shep. Chelsea is disappointed. Why can’t he man up? She rebuffs his advances when he later tries to make a move.

Jax Taylor And Scheana Marie Play Nice After Nasty Vanderpump Rules Reunion Drama

Jax Taylor And Scheana Marie Play Nice After Nasty Vanderpump Rules Reunion Drama

During Part 1 of the Vanderpump Rules reunion, Jax Taylor directed (projected) his grief and anger at co-star Scheana Marie. He ripped into her over the way she failed to respond and be there for him after his dad passed away. Scheana was furious with him but is forgiving him for treating her like crap at the reunion taping. They both took to Twitter to clear the air and share their current friendship status with fans.

Jax started off his Tweet explanation with, “Trying to keep ya guys in the loop with @scheana and I. Please understand until you have lost a parent please do not judge someone. You do not have a single clue what they are going through.”

He explained why he lashed out so hard at “close friend” Scheana. “Please understand, I just lost my father, I was an emotional wreck. Scheena just so happened to be in the line of fire first. And yes I do hold her to a higher standard because I am closer to her than some of the other girls so I was hurt. Nothing more or less. We both have talked and it’s fine now, I am learning more and more life is really f***ing short. Some things are just not worth being mad about.”

Scheana followed up Jax‘s post with words of forgiveness for him and more apologies for the way she responded at the time. She shared “Jax and I are very close. We have been for years. I understand why he was upset but he also knows I was there for him in the way I felt was best at the time. I’ve apologized, we’ve spoken, and all is well.”

Do you think Jax is going to show us an evolved and grown up Jax next season? Will this “transformation” last? Or will his grief be an excuse for bad behavior to come? I do think we should give him the benefit of the doubt and see what happens. Death of a parent can be truly life-altering.

Carole Radziwill Calls Bethenny A TV Character Who’s Taking Cheap Shots

Carole Radziwill Calls Bethenny A TV Character

Carole Radziwill is my favorite kind of Bravolebrity this season: one who lets their opinions fly in the weekly blog! The Real Housewives of New York City star didn’t hold anything back when she shared her thoughts on this week’s episode and all things Bethenny Frankel.

Carole started off with a bang. “Well, maybe I’m not into Bethenny this week, but I’m obviously into hard boiled eggs! Just make sure they don’t touch my two-egg scramble. I seem crazy, no? Clearly I’m not having a good week. Adam, of three years, announces he went on a date, and that takes me by surprise. But it’s not as surprising as the passive-aggressive digs my friend continues to make about me. I see you…”

Carole vented in her Bravo blog about not being invited along to Puerto Rico and wants viewers to know exactly what’s up, “Bethenny can invite whomever the hell she wants to Puerto Rico, but could it be that I didn’t express any interest in going because she didn’t express any interest in having me go? I didn’t know she and Dorinda were going until they were already there. While she talks smack about me on the show, I’m saying how proud I am of her. Wow…at this point, I’m just sitting back with popcorn like the rest of you, watching this TV character (who I thought was a good friend) continue to take cheap shots. It’s strange that she would say I have no interest in what is going on in Puerto Rico. I was writing checks. I’d asked her many times how things were going. A good friend of mine works with Michael Capponi, and I connected her and Bethenny.”

Carole wants to remind us that Bethenny isn’t the only one who has worked hard to make a difference in the world. She continued, “On the other hand, I really don’t give a damn, because my actions speak for themselves. I won’t bore you here recounting the endless places I’ve been to or the stories I’ve brought back exposing neglect, destruction, and people’s sufferings. I did a story once on the landmine crisis, and the head of the campaign went on to win a Noble Peace prize. I’m not bragging — it wasn’t my prize — but I brought attention to a horrible atrocity, and a good thing happened as a result. It may not be private planes, cargo ships, and cash cards, but it’s something.”

She ends her blog with: “I am socially aware and politically active. Even when it is uncomfortable, as you saw last season, when I was part of a large “get out the vote” campaign for Hillary Clinton. I know, I know — I was wrong. Trump won. Sure, it didn’t end as I would have liked (understatement), but I remain committed to the idea that good government will bring about good change. I am also grateful to private citizens like Bethenny who step up to fill in the gaping holes. I just don’t understand why she’s fully committed this season to talking about me as though I’m a Miss America contestant who banged her prom date. Haahaahaaa. Maybe we’ll find out next week. Pass the popcorn!”

Exclusive – Survivor: Ghost Island’s Chelsea Townsend: ‘I Played A Big Part In Strategy’

Exclusive – Survivor: Ghost Island’s Chelsea Townsend: ‘I Played A Big Part In Strategy’

After last week’s surprise double-Tribal Council, we were left with just eight players left in the game of Survivor this season. This week there were less surprises, but nonetheless the game trimmed out one more player, a player that you may not have even known was there for much of the season.

If you missed any of the action, you can catch up with our Episode 12 Recap, as well as checking out the Podcast below.

Exclusive – Survivor: Ghost Island’s Chelsea Townsend: ‘I Played A Big Part In Strategy’

It wasn’t necessarily Chelsea Townsend‘s fault. But she received the dreaded “purple edit” this season, a name given to those players whom we rarely get to hear from during their course of the game. This, despite the fact that she was part of the majority alliance that has dominated much of the game, was seen as being a part of many of the major conversations, and who even won two individual Immunity Challenges down the stretch. It’s an odd case for sure, because typically those that receive the “purple edit” (named after Survivor: Nicaragua‘s nearly transparent Purple Kelly) don’t factor into the game…but that wasn’t really the real deal with Chelsea.

While she may have factored into the strategy – much of which wasn’t shown to us – she may have just not factored into the story that the show’s producers wished to tell. Jeff Probst has said as much in several different interviews, urging future players to make sure “they do things that make it impossible for the producers not to notice.” So while Chelsea played her quiet game, the producers this season decided to focus the show on where the noise was being made, and that left Chelsea mostly on the cutting room floor. She averaged fewer confessional interviews than anyone who has ever played the game, a record that she doesn’t quite deserve.

Exclusive – Survivor: Ghost Island’s Chelsea Townsend: ‘I Played A Big Part In Strategy’

But as far as the game went, others viewed her as a threat, clearly, because they chose to target her this week. She had won two challenges, and as Dom said on the air, he wanted to get rid of any potential physical threats left in the game that could possibly thwart his plans. Chelsea had life left in her, had Laurel and Donathan decided to try to blindside Wendell, but in the end they decided to lay low and go with the safe vote-out, sending Chelsea to the jury as its fifth member.

A scheduled flight on Thursday made Chelsea unavailable for our usual Podcast interview this week, but she was kind enough to answer some emailed questions from me. Here are those questions as well as Chelsea’s full answers:

Tom Santilli: Heading into last night’s Tribal Council, there was a plan to try to take out either Dom or Wendell and break them up…ultimately Laurel and Donathan decided not to go that route.  What were your feelings headed into Tribal Council and did you have much hope that they would be on-board with voting for Wendell?

Chelsea Townsend: Going into tribal council was scary. I knew that my plan for this blindside completely sat in the hands of someone who was a very passive player. I hoped all the reasoning I had put into her head would pull through and the part of her that was a big fan of the show would be excited to make this huge game play and start building a resume. My emotions were all over the board that tribal as I tried to play dumb and not spook Wendell, but Donathan stirred things up and I thought I was completely done for. I regained hope when Wendell shockingly did not play his idol and could see this epic blindside in reach. Unfortunately, I think Laurel was just more concerned with hanging around another vote instead of winning.

Exclusive – Survivor: Ghost Island’s Chelsea Townsend: ‘I Played A Big Part In Strategy’

Tom: You unfortunately had a very “quiet” edit this season, where we didn’t get to see much of your game, especially your strategic thought-patterns or reasoning.  What is your reaction to your portrayal on the show this season and what did you wish they would have shown more of?

Chelsea: It was the most frustrating thing to watch back. I was very proud of the game I played, and I played really hard. It was difficult to not have any of that shown. I played a big part in strategy. Nobody just happens to vote the right person out almost every time. I created good relationships and plotted strategies and was able to see a majority of them through. Unfortunately the edit portrayed me in a backseat role when that is definitely not where I was.

Exclusive – Survivor: Ghost Island’s Chelsea Townsend: ‘I Played A Big Part In Strategy’

Tom: You were part of “Naviti Strong” through most of the game.  What was your relationship like with most of them and which did you feel were going to be the biggest threats the longer the game went on?

Chelsea: I had a great relationship with the OG Naviti. I had very strong bonds and solid alliances with those people and I was taking those relationships where I needed to to ultimately set up a well timed huge blindside and then just super hard game play to the end. The biggest threats were always Dom and Wendell after the merge, this only became more so the longer they stayed.

Tom: Explain your experience during your “loved ones” visit, your relationship with your sister and why she was the one that was chosen to join you.

Chelsea: I was pretty devastated I couldn’t pull out that win for her. It was definitely an emotional day. But, I promised her when I left for the show I would get her out there, and I did. I wanted her to be able to experience being on survivor as our whole family were huge fans. I felt so accomplished and proud I was able to play well enough to get her out there to be a part of it with me. My sister and I are extremely close. She has been my rock always. I love her so much and not to mention she is a bad ass. I hoped they would let the loved ones compete, because she would have torn it up out there.

Tom: What would you like to leave people with, as far as how you would want them to remember you as a Survivor player?

Chelsea: I want to be remembered as someone who played a really good game despite my edit. I’m definitely more laid back than these big personalities but that doesn’t mean my game play wasn’t well executed. Playing cool, calm, and calculated is a strategy. I played the game true to myself and exactly how I wanted to play the game. I’m proud of that.
