Where Are the NYC Prep Cast Now?

Blast from the past! The short-lived Bravo show NYC Prep is now available on the streaming service Peacock.

The network announced the news in an April Instagram Post, writing, “We can’t go out, we have plans with @peacock. These shows are out of the vault and streaming now.”

NYC Prep was in good company, featured alongside a few other iconic former Bravo shows, including Real Housewives of D.C. and The Rachel Zoe Project.

The series aired for 8 episodes in 2009 and captured the lives of the elite NYC prep school scene. Basically, it was the docuseries version of Gossip Girl. While its run on the network was short, it made a lasting impact on pop culture.

Now that NYC Prep is back in the headlines, fans may be wondering what happened to the group of precocious teens the show followed.

Here is what the cast is doing today:

Jessica “Jessie” Leavitt

On NYC Prep, Jessica “Jessie” Leavitt was the fashion girl. She had a seriously enviable wardrobe and a ticket to all the hottest fashion events in New York. We were so jealous!

After the show, Jessie followed her passion and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York. According to Us Weekly, she scored a job as a visual merchandiser for a “luxury brand” after graduation. The outlet reported that she tied the knot with investment analyst Jason Brown in 2019.

Sebastian Oppenheim

Sebastian Oppenheim was the Chuck Bass of NYC Prep. He was charming, rich, and loved hooking up with chicks. He continued to have a relationship with Bravo after the show was canceled. According to Us Weekly, he interned for Andy Cohen’s talk show Watch What Happens Live in 2013. He now works for the luxury New York-based real estate company Rove, per his Instagram. The company specializes in luxury furnished rentals. He married TV host Skyler Bouchard in 2019. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Arlo, in December 2023. He shared photos of the newborn in the hospital on January 1 on Instagram alongside a sweet caption.

“The light of our lives,” the new father gushed. “The absolute best thing to happen to us.”

Kelli Brooke Tomashoff

Kelli Brooke Tomashoff has kept a pretty low profile since her Bravo departure despite having ambitions of stardom. The NYC Prep alum tried her hand at a music career after the series, releasing a single titled, “Gave Up On Love” in 2011.

Peter Cary “PC” Peterson

Peter Cary “PC” Peterson made headlines when the show first premiered because he is the grandson of former US Secretary of Commerce Pete Peterson. The Bravo star said he wanted to be an actor in his teenage years but ended up living a more private life.

In 2018, he married his longtime friend Quentin Esme Brown. Tiffany Trump was the flower girl, W Magazine reported. According to The Sun, the pair filed for divorce in 2020.

Camille Isobel Hughes

According to Us Weekly, Camille Isobel Hughes works as “a senior manager for brand and product development at Arbonne International.”

Her Instagram bio pokes fun at her short-lived time on Bravo. It reads, “That girl from that thing that got 13% on rotten tomatoes.”

She married Michael Paquette in 2022. They welcomed their firstborn, a son named Charlie, in December 2023.

“Welcome to the world Charles Anthony Paquette. Born Christmas Day,” she wrote in a December 31 Instagram Post alongside an adorable photo of the newborn.

Taylor DiGiovanni

Taylor DiGiovanni was the Dan Humphrey of NYC Prep simply because she went to public school. Shocking! Her party where she brought public and prep school kids together will always be iconic. Someone give her a Nobel Peace Prize!

Her life after leaving the show is very much a mystery. She has stayed out of the limelight and her Instagram account is private.

We can’t wait to watch NYC Prep and relive all the 2000s nostalgia. From the oversized bags to the low-rise jeans, we are so ready for it.

Why Shahs of Sunset Needs To Make a Comeback

Shahs of Sunset

Bravo’s Shahs of Sunset aired in March of 2012 and ran for nine seasons. The show was iconic, and the premise was pretty simple, with a focus on a group of friends who lived in Beverly Hills. The six Persian-American friends were shown balancing their work life and social life, all while trying to keep up with their family’s traditions. The series was a fascinating insight into the upper-middle-class Persian culture in LA. It was beyond refreshing to have a cast of genuinely authentic, albeit deeply flawed, people. It was a total bummer when the show went off the air in 2021, so I hope Bravo brings the series back for a reboot soon.

Shahs has an NBC connection

Shahs of Sunset was TV goodness, with the original cast—Reza Farahan, Golnesa Gharachedaghi, Mercedes Javid, and Mike Shouhed—knowing how to entertain. After the show was put on hiatus, the quartet kept close with their Bravo counterparts and NBCUniversal. Reza was asked to participate in Season 1 of The Traitors, and MJ was brought on for Season 2, making it down to the last three.

I can’t help but feel that NBC has left the door open for a possible return and wanted to see how the cast would be received when put back on TV. It turns out that fans still really want to see these guys in action. Shahs of Sunset still has loyal fans, which is always important.  If Bravo rebooted the show, it would already have a built-in following, which never hurts when it comes to the ratings. The series could be soft launched on Peacock just like Bravo did with the Real Housewives of Miami.

Each season was explosive

No matter how you cut it, each season of Shahs of Sunset was explosive. Unlike the Real Housewives franchise, which is known to have off-seasons, Shahs was always a hit. Even their reunions were full of drama and couldn’t be missed. Each time the group of friends got back together, they hinted at far more complicated issues, instantly making me want to commit to another season. Honestly, the drama was addicting. There was backyard vandalization, leaked texts, and an abusive boyfriend. Perhaps the Season 4 reunion was the wildest as Reza impulsive shaved his infamous mustache just minutes before the taping. It gave me Britney Spears vibes!

Family is everything

On Shahs of Sunset, family was everything. But just like Family Karma, the theme didn’t seem to last with Bravo executives. Fans loved watching the ins and outs of their family dynamic. We all have a parent who is so loving it can be smothering, like MJ, and their journeys felt so relatable. It felt a bit harsh that Braov decided to take these types of shows away because, as far as I can tell, they did well for the network.

Viewers also enjoyed seeing the lavish lifestyle of this group of friends. I mean, gold was everywhere! The glam and richness of the series was something viewers had never seen before. It was nice not to see a dinner party fight every episode like on the Real Housewives. I dare say Bravo has become a bit boring, as they use the same formula. Shahs had natural production talents, and I miss that.

Rumors are afoot

Over the years, there have been plenty of rumors about a possible return for Shahs of Sunset. Not too long after Season 10 was announced as the final season, MJ dropped a few breadcrumbs hinting at a possible reboot to ET. In 2022, MJ was again spotted with Reza and GG in front of cameras. When questioned, she shared, “We were supporting a new endeavor. Obviously, I don’t want them to be, like, off with my head and not get in too much trouble.”

With that famously coy smile, MJ went on to share, “We were doing a new thing because we did that show for such a long time, and it’s just great that people still are interested and invested in our lives as we have evolved and changed so much.” But sadly as of now, nothing has come to fruition. But the cast has appeared at the latest BravoCon, which is a sign of hope. With still such a grand following, Bravo would be silly not to at least entertain the idea of a reboot. So let’s give the people what they want already, without Mike – please.
