There are a lot of reality TV stars getting fired after racially insensitive comments recently resurfaced. Vanderpump Rules fired Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Brett Caprioni, and Max Boyens. Siesta Key cut Alex Kompothecras out of episodes because of his racist social media posts.
But, there are also some people who came under fire for recent social media activity. The Challenge fired Dee Nguyen for her remarks about the Black Lives Matter movement. And we can add Below Deck Mediterranean cast member Pete Hunziker to the list of fired reality TV stars. From the show, we know him for his condescending and sexist remarks. His online presence is even worse.
He posted a photo to his Instagram Story of an African American woman tied up in bondage with the caption “When black men been doin you wrong your whole life and you decide to date the nice caucasian guy Peter from whole foods.” Along with the photo, Pete wrote, “Pretty much.”
That’s when Bravo fired him from the show and announced plans to minimize his presence in the upcoming episodes. At this point, Pete has deleted his Twitter and Instagram accounts, but screenshots last forever, Pete.
Before he made that move, Pete defended his Instagram Story, telling one Twitter user, “It was a meme. Relax, I’m VERY sexually active with all races.” WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS MAN?
Someone tried to explain the issue to Pete, tweeting, “U still don’t get it. Be socially active w/ ‘all races’ doesn’t negate u being condescending and feeling superior to another race. And instead of learning from it, u give an excuse. Learn from your mistakes!”
In response, Pete said, “I understand my mistakes, I didn’t realize you [were] my teacher and I was being graded. I wish you health and happiness and [a] prosperous life.” He really thinks he’s charming, doesn’t he?
He told another Twitter user his post was “not racism” and claimed “I love all women, bondage is a sexual pleasure of all race.” What a prince.

Ever since the news that Vanderpump Rules fired four cast members, fans can’t help but wonder who could be next. Beyond that, there’s a petition from viewers who want Jax Taylor to get fired for the offensive remarks he has made throughout the years. Vanderpump Rules “alums” Billie Lee and Faith Stowers want him fired.
Even Lance Bass thinks Bravo is going to terminate Jax. Keep in mind that Lance officiated Jax and Brittany Cartwright’s wedding after they got rid of their homophobic pastor. Lance and Jax also have a line of drink mixers called Just Add X, which is an acronym that spells out “JAX.” However, Lance recently claimed that the “number one guy in the group” is stepping down from their company. He even remarked, “You know, we can’t be involved and associated with any of this going down. We have to do the right thing.” Now, Jax is responding to the *NSYNC alum’s claim that he told Jax “Bye Bye Bye.”
Jax’s rep shared an exclusive statement with E! News in response to Lance’s comments. Apparently. “Last week the Just Add X website had been hacked, showcasing some hateful slurs, which Jax felt horrible about. In an emotional state, Jax had texted Lance and the Just Add X team offering to step down from the company if that was the direction they wanted to take.” Sure, Jax.
Jax’s rep claims, “The team immediately followed up with a phone call with Lance and the team reassured and fully supported him.”
Apparently, “It was decided that Jax would continue to stay on the team and that they all had his back given these unpredictable times. The statements from Lance on the podcast today are not only untrue but also extremely confusing and shocking to say the least. Jax is still very much a partner and founder of Just Add X and supports the team and the brand whole-heartedly.” He might as well be, especially if he ends up losing that Vanderpump Rules paycheck.
For sympathy, The statement also included, “This has been a tough time for everyone involved, especially with the critical state of Brittany’s mother in the ICU, their focus has been on that.”
I’m just waiting for Lance to clap back in 3… 2…. 1…

Shahs of Sunset had a very dramatic season. Mercedes Javid and Reza Farahan’s feud just kept getting worse. Reza and his husband Adam Neely have legal issues with MJ’s husband Tommy Feight. In case you forgot, Tommy vandalized their backyard and the whole incident was captured by security cameras. Destiney Rose hooked up with Sara Jeihooni’s brother.
Mike Shouhed declared (again) that he found the love of his life. We witnessed Golnesa Gharachedaghi’s heartbreaking journey to conceive, which included a miscarriage. There was a lot to discuss, but it never happened. Every other Bravo show got an Andy Cohen-hosted reunion via Zoom, but there was nothing for Shahs of Sunset. But don’t worry, you guys. There’s a very delayed reunion special on the way.
Page Six reported that the cast will tape a reunion special that will air in July. However, there’s no concrete reason to explain what took so long. Sure, there’s a pandemic, but that didn’t stop Bravo from filming reunions for Summer House, Real Housewives of Atlanta, and Below Deck Sailing Yacht.
It’s clear that Bravo doesn’t support Shahs of Sunset as much as it could. The show is barely promoted. Plus, it got moved to the Friday night slot, which is the kiss of death for TV shows. But, at least everyone was locked down in quarantine to tune in live.
At this point, Bravo is probably running out of already-filmed shows. So, it’s not surprising that they’d want to film a Shahs reunion. But, why now? Why not do this right after the season ended?
Earlier this month, GG told Page Six, “It’s a blessing in disguise. This COVID-19 thing, in so many ways, it has been a blessing that it made us get this whole massive delay on a reunion because now I get to not be pregnant and I get to bring out the person in me that a lot of people are very familiar with, you know, because there has been a lot of — a lot of — behind the scenes s–t going on. And I’m just happy to not be pregnant so if we do have that reunion anytime soon, I can really serve it.”

Another week, another Bravo star bites the dust for being a complete racist.
On Wednesday (June 17), Bravo announced that Below Deck Mediterranean star Pete Hunziker had been fired from the show and the network for an abhorrently racist post on social media.
“Peter Hunziker of Below Deck Mediterranean has been terminated for his racist post,” the network’s official statement read. “Bravo and 51 Minds are editing the show to minimize his appearance for subsequent episodes.”
The post in question, shared by the now-former Below Deck star on his Instagram Stories, involved a sexually graphic meme featuring a Black woman tied up in a compromising position with the caption “When black men been doin you wrong your whole life and you decide to date the nice caucasian guy Peter from whole foods.” Beneath the photo, Pete callously wrote, “Pretty much.”
(Thankfully, the meme seems to have been mostly scrubbed from social media, though there is a fan-captured screenshot exists in this Twitter thread. Warning: the post is extremely NSFW and very offensive, so please take its contents into consideration before viewing.)
Thus far, Pete has only appeared in three episodes of Below Deck Med‘s new season. And frankly, he hasn’t been great. As the lead deckhand aboard The Wellington, the father of one’s misogyny has been constantly on display during Season 5. He’s repeatedly referred to bosun Malia White — his superior on board — as both “sweetheart” and “sweetie.”
He’s constantly undermined her authority in subtle and passive-aggressive ways. By the end of this week’s episode, Malia had reached her boiling point over Pete’s sexism. In the episode’s closing moments, Captain Sandy Yawn calling an emergency deck crew meeting to put the now-fired star and his male colleagues in their place.
It will be interesting to see how much Bravo and 51 Minds can edit around Pete. The building tension between him and Malia was bound to be a major storyline of the season. Plus, the charter season already wrapped. It’s not like Bravo can replace him with someone else at the last second. (And on top of this latest drama, Lara Flumiani already quit the show after the first charter. Pete cried after the second stew left. Like a lot.)
The Wellington may be the biggest boat Sandy has ever captained, but it’s still only 1,800 feet long. It’s not like there’s a ton of room to edit Pete out of shots. You can’t pretend he wasn’t on board. So excluding him as much as possible in post-production is bound to change the season’s narrative. What will this season of Below Deck Med look like now? Only time will tell, but it’s down one racist.

First Vanderpump Rules cleaned house by firing Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, and two other cast members over their past racist actions. Fans have started a petition for Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright to follow suit. And now, Tamra Judge is calling for Kelly Dodd to be fired from The Real Housewives of Orange County for her own racist past.
The RHOC alum shared her opinion after a fan brought up the subject during a Q&A on her Instagram Stories. “Do you think Kelly should be fired for her racist statements coming to light?” the Instagram user asked, according to People.
“Yes I do. That TMZ video is disgusting!” Tamra replied. “Bravo shouldn’t just single certain people out like Stassi & Kristen. There should be zero tolerance at this point.”
The video the former Housewife is referencing features a drunk Kelly chatting with paparazzi in L.A. back in 2016. In the clip, the OC firebrand, who was then in her first season on the show, goes on an absolutely racist rant. “I don’t like Black guys. I don’t even know any Black guys,” she tells the cameraman point-blank.
The RHOC star also went on to say she “doesn’t care” about her then-husband and claimed she was “M.B.A., married but available.” (Kelly and Michael Dodd have since divorced.) She then shoved the camera and began telling people standing nearby to Google her. It was honestly all just completely gross, but Kelly later apologized in a statement and never faced repercussions from the network over her racist comments.
Meanwhile, Tamra‘s call for Kelly‘s firing comes on the heels of her own support for Black Lives Matter. Earlier this month, the OC veteran posted a photo of a smiling young Black girl holding a protest sign on Instagram. “I’ve gotten into so many arguments with people when they say ‘all lives matter,’ she captioned the photo. “Ugh it gets me so heated. I hope by posting this you better understand #blacklivesmatter I’m educating myself … please do the same.”
For now, it seems that Bravo isn’t commenting on Kelly‘s past behavior. And with filming slowly resuming on Season 15, the RHOC star has denied being fired from the show. But all I will say is that everyone should have listened to Heather Dubrow. She was right all along.

The Vanderpump Rules kids (and by kids I mean middle-aged adults) are at it again! As fans cry for Jax Taylor to be fired and he is dropped from an eye-wear company deal… not even Lance Bass could stop from announcing ending his business with Jaxy-poo. This is the same couple of week that Stassi Schroeder confirms her pregnancy, Stassi and Kristen Doute are fired from VPR, and we get to finally end this miserable season of the show.
Are you keeping up? Good. If you have been watching Vanderpump Rules for a while (and I assume you have because no one would stick around if this was their first season), then you remember Billie Lee. For those of you who somehow don’t know, Billie is a transgender cast-member of seasons past. She is best known for her activism, attempted education of this ignorant AF cast, and getting into an epic screaming match with Lala Kent. Specifically, she tried (and was shut down) to speak to Stassi about her problematic podcast statements on the show. She’s been commenting on the lack of VPR diversity since before it was cool. Also, she had sex with a ghost. Iconic.
Come along on a journey. In her first episode, we were introduced to Billie at Vanderpump’s Pride event. She gave a wonderful speech about acceptance and being true to oneself. After that, it was all downhill with how this awful cast treated her. Page Six reported that Billie claims, “Jax and a lot of people were very kind to me on Pride when I first met them and in front of the cameras,” in fact, she claims that, “he was almost coming on to me.”
Jax coming on to a woman he just met? I mean it’s hardly news. But wait! Billie continued explaining her experience saying, “When the cameras were off later that day, he told me a story about how he hung out with a girl and kissed her and found out she was a dude and it grossed him out and made it clear that he’s not into that.” Wow Jax. Good story. Is this what you tell all the women you just meet? **eyeroll**
Billie continued saying, “And so for me, I was very like, ‘Oh, 360. Like, you’re coming on to me in front of the camera. But off-camera, you’re making it clear that being trans is gross and you are not down for that.’” Well, we know our girl doesn’t stand for this kind of S-H-I-T. She claims she “tried to correct him” about using the appropriate terminology regarding the trans community, but Jax “would be annoyed by it.” JAX?!?! Annoyed by LEARNING?!?! You mean the guy who “gave up” a “hockey career” to be a “bartender” didn’t want to change? Weird.
Non-surprisingly Billie shared, “He just wasn’t having it. He just was very much keeping his distance. He just did not want me around.” Jax not wanting to be around a hot single woman?…you do the math. Supposedly Jax even spread a rumor that Billie and happily partnered Tom Sandoval were secretly hooking up. Like what!?
Billie said, “Tom was sticking up for me as a trans woman and trying to put Jax in his place.” After that mess she shared that a producer told her Jax “didn’t want to risk his career” over accidentally offending her or any transgender viewers. SO HOW ABOUT LISTEN WHEN THE TRANS ACTIVIST TRIES TO KINDLY EDUCATE YOU ON TERMINOLOGY!!??!?!?!?!? Ughhhhhhhh
Instead, Billie shared, “He said, ‘Yeah, I didn’t want you around because I don’t want everything I worked hard for to be taken away. We shouldn’t have to tippytoe around Billie because she’s trans.'” EXCUSE ME!?! I am sorry for the yelling but this dude. I can’t. Everything he worked hard for? Isn’t he the idiot who doesn’t know how to make drinks on a freakin bartender centric show?? Like WHAT!?!!
Listen up, if you don’t want to be on a show with a diverse cast with regards to race, sexual orientation, or, I don’t know, brains, maybe get out of that bar in WeHo. Go make beer cheese and ride around on your electric cooler and don’t let the door hit you on the way out. I am so over this guy. Happy Pride Month everyone! <3

Honestly what is left to say about Vanderpump Rules? Is there any point in discussing this? Can I bow out now with just a sayonara to the OG’s. We know that at least a 1/3 of the cast won’t return. Bravo hasn’t announced it yet, but I doubt we’ll see Lala Kent, Brittany Cartwright, or Jax Taylor next season. Well, not if they expect me to watch anyway. And we alllll know Bravo is catering things to my specific wants!
With sponsors and D-list celebrities cutting ties with Jax in response to his not-so-secret Twitter behavior, it’s only a matter of time. Like Ariana Madix pointed out during the season, Brittany is collateral damage.
But truly, after Jax got on national television, smugly insulted his boss and tried to call Andy Cohen out, I think it’s time for ‘his show’ to end. Jax’s ego is out of fucking control! He’s gross, slimy, a liar, a racist, a homophobe, and emotionally abusive to his wife. He’s also emotionally abusive to his castmates. Stassi Schroeder, who really has no room to talk, said at this point everyone is afraid to confront Jax because he’s so vicious.
Another thing – everyone on that show needs to quit it with the Poor Widdle Brittany routine. Brittany is not that innocent. Brittany is an equal participant in the manipulation and gaslighting. She is with Jax for a reason. Britany was never some sweet naive southern girl. You don’t meet a reality star while working at Hooters, dump your boyfriend, move cross-country, and move into his studio apartment to let him shit with the door open if you’re not gaming something.
I have literally never observed anyone more vapid and insipid on television than Brittany, who whined and railed for years about a princess wedding as if she was a toddler spun out on too much candy and Disney movies. This, according to Jax’s beloved friends and Lisa Vanderpump, is the best woman he could ever hope to get. That says something about the both of them.
What makes Brittany so great for him? She’s not keeping Jax grounded, or in check. He’s not ‘changed’ – he’s worse than ever, or at the very least exactly the same, just less concerned than ever about the consequences of showing his true self. Like his bullshit pretend connection with Dayna Kathan about how sometimes you have to cut a toxic parent out of your life. Sue, Jax, sure.
Every time Brittany gets confronted or called out, or even questioned, she starts with the ‘that’s my husband’ crap. She essentially threatens her castmates – her so-called friends – that if they don’t co-sign her bullshit and place nice by appeasing her and Jax (and their rewritten history), she’ll cut them out of her life. Everyone admits they are scared to distance Brittany, because without saying it they seem to be saying that Jax is different behind closed doors in some way, so they play along with these mind games and lies.
Jax is a sociopath, and I was so pleased to see Bravo put him on blast by replaying a clip from every reunion of his hollow-voiced apologies and rehearsed speeches about how he’s changed. It is the only script this wannabe has ever memorized.
The only interesting part of the reunion was seeing Ariana essentially quit the show. Ariana has had it and she let it allll hang loose. In response to Jax’s attempt at another tangent about how he’s working on himself, Ariana just kept interrupting him and filibuster by screaming “I’m a piece of shit!” This is, of course, the way Jax thinks of Ariana and she’s throwing it back in his face. He doesn’t think she deserves the opportunity to speak. Not just because she is one-half of the now exiled Tom 1, but because she’s a woman who won’t subscribe to his garbage. He’s trying to discredit her opinions by labeling her a jealous hater. He’s also trying to force Tom 1 off the show. Well, he thinks he has that power. Jax questioning of Ariana’s sexuality, then lobbing outright lies that her relationship is terrible because she’s a secret lesbian are disgusting. I’m DISGUSTED BRAVO – DO SOMETHING! IT’S PRIDE MONTH.
Vanderpump Rules has never been known for displaying paragons of virtue. You can’t expect that from a show that trades dignity for cheap thrills, and pays out for cast members for sharing complicated elements of their lives for screen time. Then allowing that to become open fodder for a vicious soul-eating monster like Jax. I have to say Tom 1 and Ariana are the only two people here who have consistently held their own and never succumbed to the group think, or ignored their principles for popularity (Ahem… Lala). Well, Raquel Leviss has never done it either, but Raquel has always been a periphery cast member and recipient of the bullying, not someone on the interior circle.
It’s true what Stassi and Tom 2 point out about Jax. He has dictated the narrative arc. He has decided that he’s in charge, and in some small capacity everyone has largely fallen in line. They don’t question him or his decisions. They cover for him and make excuses. They allow many things to go unsaid. They even got fired defending his lies. Jax created a toxic work environment that Lisa allowed, and even cosigned, so long as good TV with ratings was provided. Tonight though, finally felt like his swan song. It also finally felt like a vindication for Tom 1 and Ariana. As if in some small way they recognized that Jax was staying here, right behind the dumpster, still trying to off-load his lies as truth, talking talking talking so no one can ask a question or even formulate a thought about what was being said, while they were moving on.
The interesting thing is how Tom 2 and Katie Maloney fit into all of this. Katie now has no allies on this show. She has a tepid friendship with Ariana, who she’s never much liked, and has only hung out with if Stassi or Kristen Doute aren’t around. Tom and Katie’s marriage isn’t strong. Now she appears to be left with Scheana and Tom 1. Katie was oddly quiet this reunion. Respectful and in the background, as if accepting her place as the partly fossilized remains of a bygone era.
It was the year 2014 in a time when Summer Bodies reigned, and Byzantine empresses wielded pinot grigio bottles as weapons and bartered with fried goat cheese balls and Sephora samples. It was the time of great power held in the take-out container of one shifting sur-verlite as she maneuvered between her boyfriend’s apartment and the great wilds of WeHo. There were no friendships here, only truces made of desperation and alliances made of need. There were deals with the blonde she-devil, who consolidated her dynasty with pool parties a’plenty and birthday trips where warriors fought to demonstrate loyalty in the parking lot of of foreign cities. Afterwards, the empress and her ladies in waiting were bathed in beer. But it was all undone with a slap after a drunken night’s affairs.
Tales of a scandalous encounter that spread far and wide like drunken legs and fickle hearts. There was revenge, and blood, and martyrs. There was the taming of a shrew with sparky items and the promise of a calmer land with an endless bounty of ranch. But still she never seemed to truly topple. She always came back to reassert her dominance. Demanding pagan sacrifice of in the form of false eyelashes from innocent waitresses. It was a way to restore the order. but the order was all a farce. It was less stable than Scheana perched atop a bar wailing “Solid Gold.”
So here lies Katie. She had a good turn as sometime queen, sometime side-kick. So where do we go from here?
(I say promote Danica Dow, let Charli Burnett be her deputy. Scheana can kick up some dust wrestling for a control she’ll never be crafty and conniving enough to achieve. And let Tom and Tom be Tom Tom in all the best ways.)
