The Kardashians Season 4, Episode 1 Recap: Kim and Kourtney’s Battle Continues

It’s already time for Season 4 of The Kardashians on Hulu because this family truly doesn’t know life without sharing it all. The last season ended after some serious drama between Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian. While they seemingly smoothed things over by the season finale, this sister feud stayed simmering. 

Season 4 kicked off with a huge Kardashians trip to Cabo without the kids. Well, Kourtney skipped the trip too, but she was invited. Here are five of the main takeaways from The Kardashians Season 4 premiere, “You’re a witch and I hate you.” 

And we’re back with the Dolce & Gabanna of it all

We, the fans who are still sticking with watching this family, might have thought were free from Dolce & Gabanna being such a central storyline. As of Season 4 Episode 1, I unfortunately have to report we were all wrong. Kim and Kourtney’s fight about Kim’s collaboration with the fashion house was still an issue as the sisters (AKA the show’s executive producers) rewatched last season’s edits. The shady side conversations and confessionals left both sisters with lingering resentment. 

Kim called Kourtney before the Cabo trip to let her know about an upcoming D&G dinner in Milan she’s hosting. Kim invited Kourt, even though she admitted that her sister wouldn’t want to go. The phone call led to further debate about Kim robbing Kourtney’s wedding “vibe.” Kim kept doubling down that visually, she had no interest in copying Kourtney’s wedding. She even told the bride on the phone that she didn’t even like the look she wore for her big day, which only made Kourtney more fired up. “It’s not that original. Everyone does 90s,” Kim said on the phone. “It’s not a new concept.” 

Kourtney then went back to psychoanalyzing her sister’s intense work ethic. She claimed she wasn’t mad about the details of Kim’s collab, but more about the fact that it even happened at all. “It’s all your egotistical selfish mind can think of. You cannot stand someone else being the center of attention,” Kourt said. Then, all hell really broke loose. 

Kourtney releases a witchy wrath

Kourtney continued to get ammo for hating her sister when Kim admitted that she didn’t think Kourt was genuinely happy. Kim revealed she has separate group chats with her sisters and Kourtney’s own friends to talk about her. “You hate us. You’re a different person and we all talk about it,” Kim said. 

Kourtney used the group chat point as further reasoning for her distancing herself from her family. “I have a happy life and the happiness comes when I get the f*ck away from you guys,” Kourtney said. She ultimately felt that everyone was ganging up against her and Kim was leading the charge. “You’re just a f*cking witch and I f*cking hate you,” Kourtney cried before hanging up. A stoic Kim responded with a simple “K.” Somehow, producers got Kim and Kourtney to share a confessional to talk about it, even though it was clear the tension between them had yet to truly subside. 

King Kylie still reigns

Kim is forever the sister who made the Kardashians, but Kylie Jenner is truly carrying the torch. Kylie joined the family on the group trip to Cabo even though she’s usually MIA these days. Kim even gave a toast to Kylie’s presence on the private jet to vacation, while Khloe Kardashian shyly shouted out the forgettable Kendall Jenner too so she wasn’t left out. It’s truly a metaphor for their dynamics on the entire show. 

Kylie was the underrated star of the trip. She made Khloe uncomfortable by repeating the word “titties” at the dinner table. Later, she excused herself from a meal so she could go cough out the phlegm in her throat, she said verbatim. Additionally, she shaded Kendall’s age in a confessional while the supermodel sat right beside her. “These are our years, Kendall,” Kylie said. “I’m 25. You’re like, 30.” Reminder: Kendall and Kylie aren’t even two years apart in age, so the dig was everything. Let’s hope Kylie keeps up her filming momentum for the rest of the season — it’s exactly what the show needed. 

Kooky Khloe is back in full force

Khloe said it during this episode — her 30s were a rocky ride. It obviously showed on the show when so much of the drama centered around the mess in her life. Khlo$ is protecting her heart and looking forward to rebuilding herself when she turns 40 in 2024. Well, once Tristan Thompson moves back out of her house, even though she kept reminding everyone that they aren’t back together. “We get it you guys are not together. No one thinks you’re together, relax,” Kim joked. 

Khloe’s goofy side was on full display when the family arrived in Cabo during whale season. Khloe, apparently, has an intense fear of whales and almost cried when she heard they were frequenting close to the beach shore. Khloe spent several minutes screaming at the distant sight of a whale jumping out of the water while her family looked in awe.

“The thought of a whale the glance of a whale the conversation of a whale,” Kris Jenner explained. “It had to have been somewhere in her childhood I went really really wrong somehow,” Khloe admitted that True Thompson would always draw her pictures of whales to freak her out. “She thinks it so funny,” Khloe reminisced on True’s pranks. “Everyone turns into a f*cking asshole at some point.” It’s so good to have this Khloe back on our TVs.  

Some good ol’ family fun

The light-hearted nature of the Kardashians family exuded from the Cabo trip. Kris laughed until she cried at a dumb joke, prompting Kim to ask her if she ate a weed gummy. Miss Kris also had to practice her extremely poor Spanish throughout the whole vacation. After their feud a few seasons back, Kendall and Corey Gamble turned a new page in their relationship. And, arguably the most shocking moment was when Khloe and Kim claimed to never have a beer before. 

Khloe said she had only had a Red Stripe in Jamaica, but no other beer in her life. Kendall and Kylie handed their sisters a Corona to let them experience the wonders of a cold brew. Both Kim and Khloe remark that it’s actually not bad and seem like they’re going to spread the word about how good beer is. Kylie, again, was the queen of the moment. “Guys, are you okay?  You’ve never had a beer?” Kylie remarked. Truly a Kardashians family trip for the books.

Meredith Marks Reveals Current Living Situation With Husband Seth

There’s nothing wrong with renting. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newbie Angie Katsanevas bashed Meredith Marks on every topic possible during the cast trip to Palm Springs. But the fashion designer chose to address one particular one during a recent interview, the talking point that she and Seth Marks rent in Salt Lake City.

Well, it turns out that the couple rent in a lot of places. And it suits their particular situation, especially considering that Seth and Meredith are empty-nesters. Either way, it’s hardly Angie’s business. But here’s what the RHOSLC favorite had to say in response.

Meredith and Seth are “still in transition”

Meredith recently spoke to BravoTV.com on the matter. She revealed that she divides her year between several different locations.

“We’re in New York a few months out of the year. We’re in L.A. a couple of months out of the year. We’re going to spend the next three months in Miami, which is new,” Meredith explained. “Park City about four months out of the year” and “a couple [of] months in Europe,” as well.”

It’s also worth noting that during Season 1 of RHOSLC, the couple were hanging on by a thread and living in different states. So it’s understandable that they perhaps haven’t figured out their long-term plans.  

“We divide it up. We don’t really know what we want. We’re still in transition … empty nesting was very unusual because of our separation,” Meredith shared. “Also COVID. Our kids left, they came back. We’ve just had a lot of weird things and we don’t really know what we want or where we want to be. I don’t think we want to be really just in one place. I have anxiety about spending the next three months in one place and I won’t be. I’ll be traveling and going to BravoCon.”

A “change of scenery” is always welcome, and Meredith thrives on being “around different people.”

“I love my life. I don’t think it’s sustainable forever. It’s somewhat fiscally irresponsible, but for now, it’s great. Not complaining,” Meredith said of her frequent travels.

Can they come to a mutual decision on where to settle?

Seth and Meredith are working on narrowing down a decision. But ultimately, they have differing opinions.

“I think we’re probably going to pick a couple of places that we’ll spend the bulk of our time above and beyond Park City,” she explained. “We’re thinking maybe Miami and New York … but we love Los Angeles. Seth and I last night were writing down on a cocktail napkin our top five places in the U.S. and top five in the world and we just…we don’t know what we want! That’s the bottom line.” 

Another option is Boca Raton, Florida where Meredith stays “two to three months” in a residence belonging to her mother. “It’s a family home,” she said. “So, I’m there all the time.”

But there’s no need to rush the process. Especially if Meredith is enjoying the ride. She said, “I’m having fun trying to figure it out. Nothing to complain about.”

Kyle Richards Reveals What People ‘Completely Ignore’ About Her and Morgan Wade

The drama surrounding Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky’s separation has petered out quite a bit. Perhaps once Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans saw that the two were still amicable, the drama lost its appeal.

But those who kept up with the news will never forget the controversy surrounding Kyle and Morgan Wade. Speculation started flying left and right that the two were having an affair. In July, Kyle announced the production of a documentary on Morgan, leading to a trip to Paris for the pair.

The documentary and Parisian vacation only led to more speculation, but all parties have denied any romantic relationship between Kyle and Morgan. Even Mauricio said he was cool with the friendship. But that didn’t stop Kyle from speaking up again on a recent Amazon Live.

A Kyle/Morgan affair? We would know

The RHOBH star explained, “Morgan is very talented. We were in Paris shooting the documentary that you guys probably heard about online. There’s just so many things out there online. I’m like, why do people just make things up, invent things about the trip? They see that there’s a camera there, and they completely ignore that there’s a camera there.”

Kyle was insinuating that if anything happened between her and Morgan, the cameras would have captured it. While not quite an air-tight alibi, she did have a point. And besides, most people have moved on from the speculation, especially when seeing that Kyle and Mauricio are still so amicable with each other.

Speaking of Mauricio, Kyle responded to a fan question asking if she would be at any Dancing with the Stars tapings. She said, “Yes, I will be there cheering Mauricio on with my girls. I feel like he’s gonna do great. He’s very excited. He’s really, really enjoying that, so I will be there cheering him on for sure.” How wholesome.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is expected to return to Bravo in November 2023 and Dancing with the Stars continues on ABC and Disney Plus on Tuesdays at 8/7c.

Tyler Cameron Predicts Good Things for Matt James’ Mom on The Golden Bachelor

As part of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Season 2, Tyler Cameron has been in the news cycle once again. During his little press tour, Tyler stopped by Watch What Happens Live to discuss Special Forces as well as The Bachelor.

Tyler discussed the odds of his return to the franchise but also got to discuss ABC’s upcoming The Golden Bachelor. The newest addition to the franchise has received a lot of buzz, especially since revealing the new leading man, Gerry Turner.

But the show received more attention from longtime fans when it revealed a link to former Bachelor lead, Matt James. Soon after the cast was announced, it came out that Matt’s mom, 70-year-old Patty James, would be competing for Gerry’s affection. As Matt’s friend, Tyler spoke on Patty’s odds.

Patty “might be … too much for Gerry”

Tyler got to discuss The Golden Bachelor with Andy Cohen, making predictions about Patty’s chances in the competition. “Patty’s my dark horse. I think she’s going to go far in it.” Tyler joked that Patty “might be a little too much for Gerry to handle. Hopefully, he’s got his pacemaker in, he’ll be alright.”

He concluded his thoughts on Matt’s mom by saying, “I think Patty’s going to do well. I just told her to be her, have fun and she’s gonna do great.” We love to see a former contestant supporting a new generation. Though, some would argue it’s better to see new blood injected into the franchise.

As to whether Tyler would return to the franchise, he said, “I have some asks. I wanna be the host afterwards. This way you can’t mess with me during my edit or whatever it is; you can’t make me look like some of the other idiots from The Bachelor. Make me the host afterwards and I’ll stick around.” So, chances are low.

The Golden Bachelor premieres on ABC on Thursday, September 28 at 8 p.m. ET.

Sister Wives: Meri Brown’s Concerns About Kody After Utah Move

Despite Kody Brown’s best efforts (and some of his worst ones), this season of Sister Wives has seen his wives grow increasingly distant. Meri Brown is the next to draw more lines in the sand with plans to relocate more permanently to Utah.

Meri recently decided to move her Lula Roe clothing business up to her bed and breakfast in Parowan, Utah. But that information is, at the moment, unbeknownst to Kody.

Kody and Meri legally divorced from one another in 2014. However, they decided to remain “spiritually married.” In January of this year, the two made their split official. Even still, Meri would like to maintain an amicable relationship. She expressed her concerns to a close friend.

Meri is not “done with this relationship”

Meri spoke with her longtime best friend, Jen Sullivan, about her plans to stay in Utah more often. She explained, “It causes me a lot of anxiety. But yes, I’m going to move the clothing up here so that I can be here more often. You can help me with that part of it.”

She continued, “I’d like my relationship with Kody to get to a place where we have, like, a good marriage relationship, but that’s not where it is right now. And I feel like when I tell him I’m going to be moving my business up to the B&B, he’s going to interpret that as that I am done with this relationship. And that’s not where I am.”

But despite all of Meri’s planning, she and Kody haven’t discussed her move just yet. The preview for the upcoming episode from PEOPLE saw Robyn Brown upset with Meri over her more permanent relocation. “There’s no question, Robyn, he’s done with me,” Meri said. Robyn pleaded, “Please, figure it out with us here.”

Sister Wives continues Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.

Monica Garcia Claims Affair and Mormon Excommunication Is ‘Old News’

Monica Garcia made quite a splash as the newest member of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast. At first, she drew interest from her co-stars as a former employee of Jen Shah. But she made even bigger waves when she revealed her affair with her brother-in-law.

Monica was sleeping with her husband’s sister’s husband. The affair led to her excommunication from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, often called the Mormon church. She told her co-stars in a game that Whitney Rose suggested, wherein the girls would tell each other something interesting about themselves. The answers were rather mundane, save Monica’s.

Recently, the newest RHOSLC star got the chance to speak with The Messenger about the affair, her husband, and her time on the show so far. Her answers showed a surprising amount of maturity from the new Bravo star.

Monica Garcia’s relationship with her husband

Monica and her husband divorced in 2013, got remarried, and are now divorcing again. But the relationship is still very amicable. “It’s actually been pretty funny because he reads things in the press and online more than I do. He’ll call me probably once a day, ‘This is a lie. That’s not true, [etc]’ as far as what he’s seeing being said about me. So he’s actually very protective.”

He also signed off on the kids appearing on the show. “He [knows] Monica’s going to do what she wants to do, but I think he knows he can trust me to make the right decision for our children. They live with me full-time. He’s on the other side of the country, so he knows that I know our dynamic right now better than him, so he knows he can trust me to make that choice.”

Monica then explained why the relationship is still so good between them. “I am the mother of his children, and we have a mutual respect. Just because we didn’t work out doesn’t mean I don’t think he’s a great father and provider.”

Why Monica told the ladies about her affair

Monica shared her thoughts on Whitney’s suggested game in Palm Springs. “That was a very interesting dinner because Whitney made it very clear [that] it needs to be shocking. ‘Let’s get to know you on a deeper level.’ And then they’re like, ‘I journal, and I like birds.’ It was just, I’m like, ‘What? This is crazy? This is me getting to know you? This is shocking?’”

She continued, “Everyone in my life has already known about my affair … it’s old news. This is something I’m telling the women now because I’m getting to know them, and that is a big part of my past, and it formed who I am today as far as having to bear the scarlet letter and deal with being excommunicated and cut off from my community and family and friends.”

As for the results of her affair, she explained, “I one hundred percent understand I did that to myself. I’m not trying to come in here with this victim mentality, but I am trying to come in with these women. This is what it is. This is what you get, and I want them to have all the pieces of that.”
