King Charles is visiting the United States in April to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American Independence. His visit will not include a reunion with his son, Prince Harry.
The father and son were last seen together in September of 2025. This followed more than a year of not seeing one another.
King Charles and Queen Camilla’s U.S. State Visit won’t include a stop off with his son

According to People, Charles’ visit, which includes Queen Camilla, won’t include time to spend with his son, Harry’s wife Meghan and grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. “When you’re talking about a state visit, every minute is accounted for — especially when it’s the King traveling as the invited guest of a head of state,” according to a source.
The Duke of Sussex knows the drill and does not expect a visit from his father on this trip. “Harry knows how things are and wouldn’t ask for that either under these circumstances,” the source notes.
The King and Queen’s visit from April 27 to 30 includes a White House state banquet on April 28.
Harry and Meghan moved to Montecito, California in 2020. In the process, they stepped away from their royal obligations. This caused a conflict within the family throughout the years. The Prince also has attempted to reinstate his and his family’s security detail when in the UK. He has visited Britain many times in the last six years for both court proceedings and charity work.
Harry’s September 2025 visit with his father took place at Clarence House in London, where Charles and Camilla live.
In July, Prince Harry plans to visit Britain for the one-year countdown to the Birmingham 2027 Invictus Games. There is no confirmation on whether Meghan and the couple’s children will be joining him.
