A delivery driver who was allegedly detained in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has spoken out since being released from police custody. Carlos Palazeulos was reportedly arrested during the investigation into the kidnapping of the woman. Nancy was last seen on January 31, before disappearing in the middle of the night from her home in Tucson, Arizona.

In the search for missing woman Nancy, who is the daughter of Today co-host Savannah Guthrie, investigators detained a 36-year-old man living in the nearby area. Now, a man claiming to be him has declared his innocence to CBS News.
“I’m innocent,” he told the news outlet, before revealing he has no idea who Nancy or Savannah are. Carlos added that he was “shocked” at being arrested in connection to the crime, and alleged that he was held “against” his will. “They didn’t even read me my rights until two hours later,” he went on.
Carlos continued: “I didn’t do anything, to be honest, I’m innocent.”
According to the man who spoke to CBS, he was pulled over by police during a traffic stop. That said, authorities haven’t confirmed that Carlos was the person of interest or that the person of interest has been released.
“I hope they find the suspect, cause I’m not it,” he added. “[The police] better do their job and find the suspect that did it so they can clear my name.”
After the clip was uploaded to social media, those interested in the case had a lot to say in response. “I feel sorry for this guy,” someone commented. “They don’t have or know sh*t. They are grasping at straws,” added another person. “Definitely not the person in that video,” a third wrote, referencing the viral footage captured by Nancy’s doorbell camera.
Speaking about her mom’s disappearance, Savannah shared a heartfelt message on Instagram yesterday. “We believe our mom is still out there,” she said, adding that the family are desperate to “bring her home.”
