There are a few big rules on Love Is Blind. Obviously, rule number one is that you can’t see the people you’re dating, but a close second is that there are no phones allowed. Netflix just dropped the first batch of episodes of Love Is Blind Season 10, and someone already broke one of those rules. He had a valid reason, though.
Devonta Anderson was allowed a phone in the Love Is Blind Season 10 pods
In a heartbreaking Love Is Blind twist, experiment participant Devo told his date, Brittany Wicker, about how he broke one of the rules of the experiment. He was allowed to have his phone because of a tragic loss in his family.
“I do wanna share something a little personal with you,” he said during a pod date. “I got pulled out by production—and my grandfather passed away.”
Love Is Blind is already nerve-racking, so experiencing a major loss like this would be enough to make someone spiral. However, after speaking with his family, Davonta decided it would be best for him to continue on with the experiment. It’s what his grandfather would have wanted, and Brittany told him she would support him.
“I understand if at any point, you’re like, ‘Emotionally I need to step away,’ or you just want to be with your family,” Brittany assured him. “I completely get that.”
Devonta said, “I want to continue on with this, and hopefully, I find my lifelong partner like my grandparents did. I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t ready.”
Stay tuned to see if he does find his life partner. It would be a shame to go home single after making such a huge sacrifice.
