Donald and Melania Trump’s Valentine’s Day plans were kept secret
While speaking to reporters on Air Force One earlier this week, the President was asked about how he and his wife, who have been married since 2005, celebrated Valentine’s Day. But, rather than revealing how the pair celebrated – or, if they even celebrated at all – he dodged the question entirely.
“Did you do anything for Valentine’s with First Lady Melania Trump? Did you give her flowers?” a reporter asked in a clip uploaded to social media. To that, the President looked confused and asked the reporter to repeat the question before responding with an awkward facial expression.
“I’d better not tell you that,” he said. “That’s the toughest question!”
Diverting the conversation away from the topic of romance, Trump went on a monologue about his wife’s recent documentary movie. “I’m proud of the fact, you know, [her] movie’s so successful,” he said. “It’s a tremendous hit.”
“She’s done a good job, she works very hard,” he added.
Fans and critics of the President had a mixed response to the clip. “Haha! Classic Trump, dodging questions like a pro,” said @vinitmishraG on X, formerly Twitter. “Lol dodging Valentine’s questions is easy,” added @The_X_Ledger.
“Dodged it like a pro and turned it into a moment. Love him or hate him, that was smooth,” agreed @phenkenn.
“He’s merching her movie … he didn’t answer the question,” responded @dearsham. “That’s the toughest question. That means no, or probably forgot. Since he only cares about himself,” wrote @peacebabeyy.
