Members of the British royal orbit have spent years dealing with fallout from their links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s association drawing the most scrutiny.
Newly released Justice Department files now reopen that chapter, exposing private exchanges and gossip that paint an uncomfortable picture of how figures in Epstein’s circle spoke about the royals behind closed doors. Among the revelations is an allegation that one royal family member became the target of insulting remarks.

According to RadarOnline, documents made public in a massive Justice Department release show Epstein privately traded gossip and mockery about Sarah Ferguson with royal associate David Stern. The files include hundreds of references to “Fergie,” but one FBI transcript stands out.
In testimony, Virginia Giuffre described a moment when she says she overheard Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Andrew making cutting remarks about Sarah. She recalled that “MAXWELL, EPSTEIN, and PRINCE ANDREW talked gossip and poked fun at SARAH ‘FERGIE’ FERGUSON’s weight.”
Emails show Stern regularly forwarded tabloid stories highlighting Sarah’s financial troubles. One headline read: “SKINT Fergie has sacked her entire office staff in a desperate bid to stave off bankruptcy – as she packs to jet off on a luxury Caribbean holiday.”
Another framed her as drowning in debt. Epstein appeared amused. In one message, he reacted to a separate headline by writing: “When I read this … Andrew Sold Daughters to Pay Fergie Debts It caught me off guard I laughed so hard I choked and shot snot out of my nose! Best one yet!!!”
The document trove also includes a surprising 2009 note Sarah sent Epstein after his jail release. She wrote: “You are a legend. I really don’t have the words to describe, my love, gratitude for your generosity and kindness. Xx I am at your service. Just marry me.” The files do not clarify the context or implicate her in any crimes, but the exchange adds another layer to an already complicated relationship.
