HGTV’s Rehab Addict star Nicole Curtis is facing the music after saying the N-word during filming. The network recently revealed her fate for dropping the racial slur.
Nicole has starred on the show since its debut on October 14, 2010. The DIY series documents home renovations, focusing on historic homes.

HGTV announced that Nicole has been fired from the network and it removed the series from all its platforms.
The video of Nicole saying the racial epithet was revealed in a video from RadarOnline. The video showed Nicole having difficulty completing renovation work, when she said, “Why? It’s the last one. Oh, fart [n-word].”
She then begged the show’s crew to delete the recording, realizing the backlash and consequences of what she said. “What the f*ck is that I just said?” Nicole said, with crew laughter heard off camera in the background. “Nick, you gotta, you gotta, can you kill that? F*ck my life.”
When HGTV was made aware of the situation, the network confirmed its disciplinary action. HGTV’s statement said it was “recently made aware of an offensive racial comment made during the filming of Rehab Addict. We understand that language like this is hurtful and disappointing to our viewers, partners, and employees, and it does not align with the values of HGTV.”
After confirming Nicole’s firing and removal of the series from the network, it confirmed, “We remain dedicated to fostering a culture of respect and inclusion across our content and our workplace.”
Nicole seemed to brush off her comments on social media. After posting a photo advertising her show, she revealed that there are minimal people working on the show’s production. “It’s never been about how I look (I fix that in post) it’s always been about the house. Nicole Curtis (that’s me) and team restore history,” she wrote.
She then responded to the firing, thanking fans for 15 years of support and asking for old homes to continue being saved.
