A political commentator is taking some heat for her views in a highly publicized missing person’s case. Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has made national news for weeks and one that has understandably shaken her daughters, Savannah and Annie and son Cameron. On an episode of her podcast published to YouTube on Thursday, Megyn Kelly looked back at a Today Show episode hosted by Savannah in her hometown of Tucson, Arizona.
There was a segment on that NBC episode where Annie is shown but doesn’t speak. For Megyn, that was among quite telling. What Savannah shared in the episode is being scrutinized by the podcast host.
Megyn Kelly called Savannah and Annie Guthrie’s sibling dynamic into question
Megyn is putting the Guthrie family on blast. Given Savannah’s fame and the footage of Annie in the Today segment, the political commentator wondered if there may be a sense of envy of Annie’s part towards her sister. That’s something Megyn believes is common in families where someone reaches a certain amount of fame.
Her beliefs, however, didn’t stop there. Megyn made a huge claim about who she believes was taking care of the 84-year-old. “I guarantee you, she (Annie) was doing the lion’s share of all the work with Nancy, and Savannah wasn’t,” Megyn says. She adds that that Savannah was probably paying caregivers to take care of her ageing mom. However, she says it’s different when you’re the one who is there.
Meanwhile, Megyn noted that the Today Show mentioned that Nancy was still living in Arizona. It also pointed out some of the family’s favorite restaurants and locations. For Megyn, this was asking for trouble. She’s said that it’s a bad idea to parade around your hometown. She adds that it’s bad to tout what a star you are and what a celebrity you are as a news person like Savannah is. Doing so can “only lead to bad things,” said Megyn.
Since the alleged kidnapping of Nancy Savannah has been very vocal online. She’s offered to pay the supposed ransom demands, releasing a pair of video pleading to bring her mom back home. She’s also released a home video of what it was like growing up with her family and being raised by Nancy.
Nancy was declared missing on February 1.
