Recently, she opened up about her journey, comeback, latest album, and more during an interview with her son, Luca, for Billboard Family.
Unfortunately, this is also when she let a majorly unexpected confession slip out. Duff revealed her parents once tricked her into eating something simply disgusting.
Hilary Duff’s Parents Fed Her ‘Chicken Tenders’ That Were Deep-Fried Testicles
For Hilary Duff, her childhood memory involves a plate of what she once thought were very innocent ‘chicken tenders.’ Unfortunately, it was a clear lie, as she was tricked into eating deep-fried bull testicles, also known as “calf fries,” without being told what they were.
Safe to say, this really is not exactly the kind of surprise that you end up effortlessly forgetting and moving on from. Looking back at her time in Houston, Duff opened up about performing in rodeos. She also mentioned that this is where she would be fed ‘calf fries’ by her parents as a kid. Elaborating on this, she exclaimed, “My parents used to feed me calf fries, and they used to tell me they were chicken tenders. They are not! Do you know what that is?”
Trying to figure this out, Luca made some guesses, saying, “baby calf?” To which Hilary responded by encouraging him to try again, as it’s a portion of the calf. Then, she clarified, “B**ls. Yep. Fried them. And I ate them thinking they were chicken tenders. I was devastated.” To this, Luca responded, saying, “Ugh! Ew! That’s nasty and disgusting!”
In response, she asked him how he would feel in this situation. He replied with a laugh, saying, “I wouldn’t feel good if you lied to me and made me eat calf fries!”
