Focusing on their work has been anything but easy for staff members of Today. The program co-hosted by Savannah Guthrie have been deeply affected by the disappearance of her mother. Nancy has been reported missing since February 1, and Savannah has not been hosting since the news broke. Late-night talk-show host Andy Cohen says those at the program are anything but cheerful right now. Andy has guest-hosted Savannah’s show numerous times and been interviewed on it as well.
There’s been blood discovered at Nancy’s home in Tucson, Arizona, while police have released photos of when the alleged kidnapping took place.
The Today Show team are “somber and sad” as the search for Nancy Guthrie continues
Morale is understandably low on the set of Today. Speaking to People, Andy says those working on the show are “somber and sad.” Andy says that the on-air talent are particularly upset by all of this. The likes of Craig Melvin, Jenna Bush Hager, Sheinelle Jones and Al Roker are like family, according to Andy. Seeing one of their colleagues in Savannah go through this is painful for them.
Andy says that Nancy’s disappearance was “surreal.” Police are hunting for more clues about her whereabouts. The FBI is offering a reward of $100,000, twice the previous amount. There have been several ransom notes sent to news outlets regarding Nancy’s alleged kidnapping.
A description of the person who allegedly took Nancy was released by authorities on Thursday. Savannah and her brother Cameron have made several pleas to the alleged perpetrator, asking to return their mom safely while adding they’re willing to talk. Savannah shared an emotional video of her mom and what it was like growing up with her.
Andy calls Nancy’s disappearance devastating. He adds that morning show teams are very close-knit. Nancy was last seen with her daughter Annie on January 31.
