Prince William and Kate Middleton have broken their silence following the latest batch of files relating to Jeffrey Epstein. Last month, millions of files were released, containing yet more revelations about celebrities, politicians, and royalty, too.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was again featured in the latest drop of files. His inclusions include email correspondence as well as images. He has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to the late financier. What’s more, mention in the files is not an indication of guilt.
The Prince and Princess of Wales released a statement
Ahead of Prince William’s arrival in Riyadh today for a three-day visit to Saudi Arabia, a spokesperson for the Prince and Princess of Wales commented on the Epstein files.
“I can confirm the Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations,” the spokesperson said, per numerous outlets. “Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.”
“Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse,” the statement concluded.
This is the first time that the Prince and Princess have directly commented on the scandal. And their thoughts echo those of their fellow royals. Last week, Prince Edward broke his silence on the Epstein files, too. In his comment to a CNN reporter, he also highlighted the importance of the victims.
Perhaps William, Kate, and Edward’s statements should come as no surprise, however. They mirror the announcement made by King Charles last year when he removed Andrew’s remaining royal titles.
“Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse,” the Buckingham Palace statement read.
