Steven Spielberg is getting a new son-in-law. The Academy Award-winning director joined an exclusive club over the weekend. His documentary Music by John Williams won a Grammy for best music film on Sunday. As such, the director of blockbuster films like Jaws and E.T. became the latest person to join the list of EGOT winners.
He’d previously won an Emmy for shows like The Pacific and Band of Brothers. Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan were among the movies for which he won an Oscar for Best Director. The play A Strange Loop earned him a Tony Award for Best Musical, and his John Williams documentary gave him the prestigious EGOT. Fewer than 30 people have claimed this honor. Steven, though, had more exciting news to celebrate over the weekend, surrounding his youngest biological daughter Destry.
Destry Spielberg and Jake Herskowitz are engaged
Steven wasn’t the only Spielberg in the mood for celebrating this past weekend. His daughter Destry, who is a filmmaker herself, had some big news of her own. Her Instagram story which was captured by Just Jared on Saturday captioned a video of her walking out of a restaurant flaunting an engagement ring. After three years of dating, she and Jake Herskowitz are tying the knot.
Another snap offered a close-up of the ring made by Goldpoint jewellery. It features a chunky gold band and a large rectangular diamond. Destry and Jake’s romance has been public for a while, with the two often expressing their love for one another. On her 29th birthday in December, Jake paid tribute to his now-fiancée, calling her “the love of my life.”
While her father made headlines for his achievements last weekend, he captured people’s attention for another reason over the summer. He reunited with Rachel Zegler, giving her a kiss at the London Palladium. Steven had cast her in West Side Story years ago.
