During an episode of SiriusXM, Stern mentioned that after watching Taylor Swift‘s Eras tour documentary, he got to credit her for effortlessly balancing her personal and professional lives. He said, “I even got exhausted for her. She goes, ‘I’m releasing my new album, then she’s on the phone with her boyfriend, but then she’s in rehearsals with Ed Sheeran and she’s learning new guitar parts, and then they change the choreography and they change the outfits.”
He was impressed by how she was handling on-and-off-stage responsibilities effectively, without even taking a short break. He added, “I’m like, oh my God. How is she doing—I can’t—she’s like super girl or something.” Reflecting on his own experience, Stern admitted that operating at Swift’s pace isn’t for him. He noted that he needs a nap after completing a recording.
Last year, in a conversation on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Swift revealed what she does to unwind after completing the demanding tour. She said, “I think I can speak for both of us when I say we’re passionate, hyperactive people. Let’s not say workaholic. I think that when I take time off, I can’t slow down the fact that I need to get up and do a lot of things today, but I can change what those things are. I can figure out how to chill out, but I’ll never be a chill person. So I’m bread girl now, or ‘This isn’t gonna cross-stitch itself.’ Hobbies are incredible.”
