Chappell Roan turned heads at the 2026 Grammys red carpet on February 1, donning a sheer dress from Mugler. The singer, known for her love of daring outfits, paid homage to Mugler’s iconic 1990s aesthetic as she stepped out in a body-skimming burgundy gown with nipple rings.

Chappell Roan has once again proved that she knows how to command attention on the red carpet. The “Good Luck, Babe!” hitmaker left onlookers stunned as she graced the Grammys 2026 red carpet with a design from Mugler’s 1998 spring collection titled ‘Jeu de Paume.’ For the runway show, Erica Vanbriel had worn a black version of the dress. The most eye-catching detail of the look was the silver nipple piercings from which the gown delicately hung. It added an edgy, provocative twist to the sheer design.

The top of the dress draped loosely around her torso before cascading fluidly from the hips down, pooling into a soft train at her feet. The barely-there bodice and plunging back gave a clear look at the henna and tattoos adorning Roan’s body. The contrast between the lack of a proper bodice and the deeper-toned skirt gave the ensemble a sculptural quality.

Mugler’s new creative director, Miguel Castro Freitas, took inspiration from the design for his spring 2026 collection. However, Roan opted for the original vintage style and layered it with a matching cape for the interviews. She wore her signature fiery red curls long and voluminous, with soft, curled bangs framing her face. Choker necklace, dangling earrings, and sandals completed her style.

Held at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, the 68th annual Grammy Awards were hosted by Trevor Noah. Roan had two nominations, Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year for “The Subway.” Other nominees for Record of the Year included Bad Bunny, Doechii, and Billie Eilish.
