Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 10, Episode 9. Last week, Kyle took it one step too far when he swore at Amanda in front of the group. West promised Jesse he was going to confront Kyle, and Ciara dropped a bomb that she thought Amanda and Kyle should separate. And speaking of bombs, Lindsay dropped one of her own when she told KJ she heard from Bailey that Dara had spent an hour in Ben’s room. Things are about to get quite messy. Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 10, Episode 9: “Wrinkles & Rosé.”
What happened in Summer House Season 10, Episode 9?
The tension from Kyle blowing up at Amanda last week still lingered on. However, West made good on his word and confronted Kyle about it. Kyle then apologized to Amanda, but the two admitted their relationship was in trouble. Carl was upset with Kyle for not investing in Soft Bar. And when he confronted Kyle, he felt Kyle gave a “woe is me” response. Dara also confronted Bailey about spreading the rumor about her and Ben. But things did not end well in her favor.
Carl feels Kyle “controls the conversation”
Kyle’s birthday party was in full swing, with the gang still wearing their geriatric getups. Lindsay was on the hunt for a sugar daddy, not yet of retirement age, but the ripe old age of 45. Unfortunately for her, every guy she approached was one of the poors instead.
And potentially being poor was Kyle’s excuse when Carl confronted him as to why he did not invest in Soft Bar. Carl felt slighted as he had invested in Loverboy, even though he didn’t have much money at the time. He believed in Kyle, so why didn’t Kyle believe in him?
But Kyle claimed he was tapped out. He told Carl he had only a few months left of funding left. When Carl asked if he thought his business was going to fold, Kyle admitted going bankrupt was a possibility. He said, “I’m out here trying to have fun, and I’m like, ‘I have three months to live.’”
On top of that, Kyle added that he felt Amanda didn’t fully understand what dire straits they were in. Carl countered that at least they had each other. Kyle threw his hands up and said, “I mean, I don’t know.”
Afterwards, Carl felt nothing was resolved. In his confessional, he said, “I don’t think anything really got accomplished. He was just like b*tching woes me. It’s a thing Kyle does. Kyle controls the conversation.” So, to cheer himself up, Carl texted Bailey.
Someone else who was thinking of Bailey was Dara. When West asked Dara how she was being treated, Dara said everything was good … except with Bailey. That comment about her being in Ben’s room for an hour did not sit right with her, and words were going to be had.
The girls have a heart-to-heart with Amanda
Kyle’s financial troubles were making the rounds in the group. Ciara chatted with Mia and Lindsay and informed them that Ben had told her Kyle was on the hook for millions of dollars. Ciara said, “Apparently, he’s personally on the line for like three million.” Lindsay wondered if Kyle’s finances would affect Amanda. Ciara stated, “Hell yeah. They don’t have a prenup.”
Meanwhile, West and Jesse approached Kyle and confronted him about his behavior towards Amanda. West told Kyle it was completely unnecessary. He told him, “That cannot be the correct way for you to get sh*t off your chest, and that was bad.”
When Kyle apologized to them, West said to tell that to Amanda. West said, “Tell her that, though, for starters. Say, ‘I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it. Like, I should not talk to you like that.’” In his confessional, Kyle knew they meant well. But he felt they should talk with Amanda too and tell her to “give your husband a little attention.”
Who did approach Amanda, however, was Ciara, Mia, and Lindsay. Lindsay wondered if Amanda knew the tea Ciara just spilled about Kyle’s finances. In her confessional, Amanda admitted she knew Kyle had taken out a loan but never questioned him because he went to business school. But what she did know, whatever it was, it “was not good.”
Ciara and Mia then brought up it’s not right for Kyle to treat her that way. Mia said, “Stop letting him do that sh*t to you. You don’t deserve it.” Ciara advised they separate to figure things out. Lindsay added, “What if you let him see what it feels like without you?”
They continued to offer their support. But Amanda only felt lost. She said, “I just don’t know.”
Kyle told Amanda their relationship was in “trouble”
The party was finally over. Jesse told Amanda that West confronted Kyle about yelling at her and told him to apologize. Jesse said, “He literally told Kyle off.” Whether there was something more to it had remained to be seen. Amanda said, “I love you guys.”
While half the crew went out to continue to party, KJ and Dara stayed behind to cuddle. Mia and Ciara also stayed in and hoped they would not be kept awake by Kyle and Amanda fighting.
Thankfully, fighting wasn’t on the table. Kyle apologized, but Amanda wondered why he needed to be told to do so. Kyle didn’t have a response, but he did sound the alarm. He stated, “I feel like, we’re in like, trouble.”
And others in the house felt the same. When they came back, Ben, Carl, West, and Jesse gossiped about Kyle and Amanda. Ben joked Kyle needed to get his “missus” back, but they were all worried. With Kyle’s business possibly folding and his relationship with Amanda at a crossroads, it all seemed to be too much.
The next morning, Dara cooked breakfast with KJ and continued to feel good vibes from him. His only red flag … he didn’t season his eggs. While everyone ate breakfast, Lindsay reminded them she was having a housewarming party. And Ben raised a few eyebrows when he dished he wanted to bring a plus one.
Ciara announced she was now a proud homeowner as well as she bought her grandparents’ house. Amanda said she still didn’t have a house in New Jersey. Kyle quipped, “I put my deposit down on Loverboy.” Amanda reassured him she was just joking, but Kyle was not amused.
Dara confronts Bailey during Lindsay’s housewarming party
As everyone packed up, Ben told Ciara his plans to reach out to Sabrina. And he was nervous. The last time they spoke, she said, “I love you,” and Ben didn’t respond. However, Ben hoped time would heal all wounds and she would give him another shot.
Kyle also needed time. He told Amanda he needed time to figure out why he did what he did. Amanda scoffed, “Think and process? You walked past me and said, ‘F*ck you.’” She added, “The way you speak to me and the things that you say to me is the issue.” Kyle responded, “I’m sorry. Our relationship is in troubled water. And the question is, what are we going to do about it?”
While they were going in a downward spiral, Lindsay was going up. Her housewarming party was ready to go, with full catering, open bar, and a … piano player. Everyone who walked in acted like they’d never seen anyone playing a piano before.
Carl and Lindsay continued to be friendly, albeit awkwardly. Carl presented her a gift, and Lindsay gave him a friendly nod. There was no drama there; that was saved for Dara and Bailey instead. When Bailey asked Dara how her weekend was, Dara didn’t beat around the bush.
She told her she was upset she heard Bailey told Lindsay she was in Ben’s room for an hour. Bailey asked, “Did you guys not go in Ben’s room?” Dara gave a firm, “No.” But the tapes showed otherwise.
