Economist and financial commentator Peter Schiff recently spoke about Donald Trump‘s messages on the social media platform Truth Social and conveyed that he believes that the president can’t handle criticism. Schiff is known to be a vocal critic of the President’s economic policies. In the past, he has also questioned Trump’s warnings to Iran, which he posts on Truth Social.
Peter Schiff criticises Donald Trump in new podcast
Peter Schiff recently sat down on The Iced Coffee Hour podcast. During the conversation, he spoke about Donald Trump’s posts on Truth Social and asserted his opinion that the president cannot take criticism.
Schiff referred to an interview he did in Dubai, in which he called out Trump’s failing economic policies and stated, “Trump can’t handle any criticism.” He expressed his disbelief with Trump criticizing his interview on Truth Social and stated, “I did it from my hotel room, and it was like, I don’t know, 5 in the evening. It was like 5 in the morning. The President, he’s awake watching Fox and Friends at 5 in the morning. Who the hell else was watching it? And he goes ballistic, right, on Truth Social. He goes ballistic, ‘How dare Fox News have somebody on that criticizes me?’ I mean, is it just a propaganda arm of the Trump administration? That’s what he wants. He doesn’t want Fox News having objective economists.”
Furthermore, Schiff suggested that the Trump administration should rename Truth Social to “Lie Social” because, in his view, “there’s nothing truthful” on the platform.
After Trump posted about the economist after the Fox News interview, Schiff took to his X account to share his response. He challenged Trump to a debate on the US economy and his policies, adding, “If I’m as wrong as he says I am, let him prove it.”
