Real Housewives of New York star Sonja Morgan is returning to reality television alongside Bravo pals Ramona Singer, Luann de Lesseps, Jill Zarin, and Kelly Bensimon. The RHONY OGs are set to star in the upcoming E! docuseries, The Golden Life. The new series, which is expected to start filming this spring, follows fan-favorite RHONY veterans as they embark on the “golden” chapter of their lives in Palm Beach, Florida.
A synopsis for the show reads, “Bound by decades of shared history, fallouts and friendship, this fan-favorite group of New Yorkers are starting fresh together in the Sunshine State. In this new ‘golden’ era of life, the longtime friends are thriving in and around Palm Beach with fabulous second homes and a bustling social scene.”
Reality Tea recently caught up with Sonja to talk about the highly anticipated project and what it’s really like reuniting with her former RHONY castmates. Here’s everything you need to know.
Sonja Morgan says she wants viewers to see a different side of Ramona Singer
It’s been five years since Sonja turned in her apple on Real Housewives of New York, and fans have felt her absence ever since. In our interview, Sonja spoke about her dedicated fanbase, saying they want to “know everything” about her life.
“They really want to know what’s going on, and they were getting a little angry that they didn’t get to see me, for instance, move out of the townhouse and sell it,” she said, referencing the 2024 sale of her iconic New York home. “They want to know everything.”
Hopefully, the new series will make up for lost time. Sonja also touched on reuniting with her RHONY pals for the upcoming project, saying the real friendships on the show will be the secret to its success.
“I knew Jill, Kelly, Luann, [and] Ramona way before [we were on] television. I think even before Wi-Fi,” she joked. “We’ve known each other [for] thirty years.”
When asked who she is most excited to film with again, Sonja cited her close friendships with Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer.
“Obviously, Lu and I are Frick and Frack. We go way back. Everyone knows Lu and me are a lot of fun. I’m her wingman. There will be lots of action,” she teased.
“But Ramona and I go back even further,” she continued. “I’m looking forward to her coming on the show and showing her real self again, beyond all those rumors. When the show got chopped, everyone said whatever they wanted to say out of context. She’s not that girl. I want everyone to know she’s a caregiver, she’s a very giving person, and very nice.”
