More celebrities are lending their names to a growing online petition. Pedro Pascal and Madonna are the latest big names calling on the US government to shut down an ICE facility for children. The Dilley Immigration Processing Center is located in Texas.

The facility has been detaining kids and their parents. The controversial immigration agency has been in the news throughout this year. The agency is taking heat for its actions in Minneapolis, shooting two apparent domestic terrorists this year.

“Children belong in schools,” the letter reads

Hollywood stars aren’t backing down in their desire to have a controversial immigration facility scrapped. Javier Bardem, Mark Ruffalo, America Ferrera, Elliot Page, and Jane Fonda are among the other celebs protesting the Texas facility. The online petition believes that “Children belong in schools,” rather than a detention center like this one.

Reports say that kids in that detention center get moldy food, plus limited education. Donald Trump’s administration has been cracking down on immigration. As such, there are said to be more than 2,300 children in custody.

Many A-list celebrities have been protesting ICE’s actions. Matt Damon previously wore a protest pin for the premiere of his movie RIP. The Be Good pin is an anti-ICE movement begun after Renee Nicole Good was shot dead by agents in Minneapolis.

The open letter accompanying the petition contains explosive allegations. They include claims that kids are enduring “trauma, neglect and conditions that violate basic standards of health” in this facility. The letter calls for the immediate shutdown of the Dilley facility.

This protest movement began when Ms. Rachel met some detained children on a video chat. She found out about the facility when federal agents arrested the father of Liam Conejo Ramos in Minneapolis. The five-year-old and dad were sent to Dilley.

TELL US – DO YOU BELIEVE THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION SHOULD SHUT DOWN THIS DETENTION CENTER?
