One Strictly Come Dancing couple will be missing from this weekend’s live show.
The BBC confirmed on Friday that one of the contestants has fallen ill and will not be taking part in Movie Week, one of the most anticipated themed weekends of the series.
Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis, who’s paired with pro dancer Dianne Buswell, has been unwell for a few days and has been told by doctors to rest.
He and Dianne have been granted a bye under the show’s official rules, meaning they’ll go straight through to next week’s round, health permitting.
The pair had been preparing to perform a Waltz to It Is You (I Have Loved) from Shrek, but those plans are now on hold.
Dianne posted her support online, writing: “Sending allll my Aussie love, Steffo. I know how much you wanted to dance.” Other cast members, including Claudia Winkleman and Amy Dowden, also shared warm messages.
We’ll be hoping Stefan is feeling better and able to return to the competition next week.
