JD Vance is taking some heat for recent comments made about a CNN reporter. The Vice President was defending Donald Trump, who took exception to a question asked by Kaitlan Collins. She asked him what he would say to the Jeffrey Epstein survivors. Donald responded by calling her the worst reporter, adding that he’s never seen her smile.
In a separate interview, JD defended the President, saying you can’t always take yourself seriously. He also wondered why questions always must be so antagonistic.
JD Vance was called “tone-deaf” for his comments
The Vice President’s call to have a little humor occasionally has not been well received. In a conversation with The Megyn Kelly Show, JD says that even if you take your job seriously, it’s ok to “have some fun.” The Vice President’s call for things to be a little more light-hearted have not gone over well. JD is being labelled as “tone-deaf” among other things.
Longtime political and sports commentator and writer Keith Olbermann weighed in on the conversation. He called out Megyn, saying she is one of the bitterest and coldest people in media history. In her chat with JD, Megyn agreed with the Vice President that Kaitlan never smiles. Megyn went on to quote Roger Ailes, who previously urged TV personalities to smile more to show they have a heart. Roger previously served as CEO of Fox News, passing away in 2017.
The release of the Epstein files has been a sensitive subject, with countless victims suffering because of his sex trafficking scandal. Millions of documents from those files were released last week. That includes one which alleges the late sex offender had a son. Jeffrey’s brother Mark, however, doesn’t believe that’s true.
The Trump administration has been slammed by hosts of The View, among others for not redacting the names of Epstein victims when the documents were released.
