Kelly Dodd On This Season Of Real Housewives Of Orange County: “You’ll Be Surprised How Fast Trust Between Friends Can Plummet”

Real Housewives of Orange County is back for Season 13. The ladies are one episode down and in all honesty it wasn’t that interesting. Nevertheless, Kelly Dodd is teasing some major drama on the horizon.

Kelly was the only one we could count on last season for consistent entertainment, so let’s hope that she pulls through for the viewers this time around as well.

Kelly reflected on the first episode in a Bravo blog post. She opened with “The bitches are back!” Yes they are and the expectations are high- especially after a painfully boring Season 12. They owe us.

Kelly wrote, “What can I say? Divorce looks good on me!” It truly does. She continued, “When Michael [Dodd] and I split, we sold our house, and I actually found a new place right down the street. I refuse to leave the beach. I love it too much, and I didn’t want Jolie to have to adjust to a new neighborhood. She’s coping really well with everything that’s gone on, and I couldn’t be more proud of her maturity. We raised a good kid!” Not only that,  but she was adorable and hilarious as the voice of reason during that lunch scene with Kelly and Vicki Gunvalson. We need more scenes with Jolie.

Kelly isn’t the only one navigating life after the end of a marriage. Kelly’s enemy-turned-close-friend Shannon Beador is in the same boat- but they are both coping very differently. Kelly wrote, “Since I began going through my divorce, I have felt truly liberated and like a much happier, more positive version of myself. Every breakup has its ugly side, and I understand the pain Shannon is experiencing. Divorce is hard! It’s expensive and oftentimes people do and say ugly things.”

Kelly explained, “When you’ve been with someone for a long time, it’s easy to get stuck and allow that relationship to define you. We wrap so much of who we are in the context of our families. I just think that life is short, and it’s important to keep moving forward. I think it’s the best thing for the kids to be around happy parents, and sometimes you’re just happier when you go your separate ways.” Divorce really does look good on Kelly. It seems like single Kelly will thrive in Season 13.

Kelly remarked, “I can’t wait to see what the future brings, and I am excited for Shannon too! I think she may have a whole new era of self-discovery coming her way, and she’ll see it in time. Everyone moves at their own pace. I, for one, am loving being able to date and flirt with new guys. It’s like a whole new world has opened itself up for the taking!”

She reflected, “It felt like such a relief to establish a new trust with the women and kick off the season on a positive note. ” Then the blog post really got good when she teased, “If only things could stay that way… Just like Shannon Beador tethered to a zip line, you’ll be surprised how fast trust between friends can plummet off of a ledge.” She concluded with, “…More on that next week!” Could this be some shade toward Vicki for setting up Michael with one of her friends? Or is someone else doing something traitorous? Needless to say, the fans are looking forward to some drama this season.
