I’m going to admit something to y’all that I’ve kept a secret. After Porsha Williams’ altercation with Kenya Moore at the Real Housewives of Atlanta’s reunion a few seasons back, I’d soured on the Georgia peaches. I took a break, and I’m not going to lie, I didn’t miss them.
However, when I heard the news that Kim Fields was joining the cast AND Sheree Whitfield would be back, I had to check it out…you know, for work. Since the first episode of this season, I have been hooked yet again. I don’t even miss NeNe Leakes! The drama has been insane, and I am still trying to figure out which women are true friends and who is throwing enough shade to fund an umbrella factory.

Of course, Cynthia Bailey’s story line this time around focuses on her tumultuous marriage with Peter and her sunglasses line (shades for shade), but the reality star has certainly found her voice. In a recent interview with Bravo, Cynthia opens up about the drama in her clique as well as her disdain for the restaurant business.
When asked if she was surprised to hear about Kandi [Burruss]’ issues with Phaedra [Parks] and Porsha, Cynthia reveals, “Yes. I had already heard that there was an issue between Todd [Tucker] and Phaedra regarding the workout DVD that she hired him to produce. I had no idea there was also an issue between Kandi, Phaedra, and Porsha until Kandi told me and Peter about it at lunch. The ladies always seem to be cool when we all hang out together.”
Even though she isn’t keen on Peter’s restaurant business, Cynthia has high hopes for Kandi and Todd’s plans for an eatery. Sharing her thoughts, Cynthia urges her friends to “Go for it!” while explaining, “I am just not a fan of the restaurant industry from my own experience. I know firsthand that restaurants can be costly, time consuming, and a lot of work in the beginning stages. Peter is very hands on with his businesses and the time away from home has definitely put a strain on our marriage. In my opinion, I believe this type of business would be especially hard on a new marriage and a new baby.”
Responding to why she wanted Kim and Kenya shoot her eyewear commercial, Cynthia admits, “It was a no brainer to ask Kenya and Kim to be involved in my Cynthia Bailey Eyewear commercial. They are very both talented directors and producers. I am a fan of both of their work. I would be honored to work with either of the ladies. However, to have them both would be incredible!”
Gone is the meek Cynthia tossing around friendship contracts, and here to stay is the Cynthia who kicks off a charging Porsha. I’m not sure which Cynthia I prefer…
Tonight we’re back with an all new episode of RHOA. Mama Joyce pays Phaedra Parks a visit and Porsha confronts her sister. The preview clips promise drama all around.
We’ll be live-Tweeting, so tune in!
