Barbie Pascual got off to a strong start on Below Deck Season 11. But little by little, this season did her in. Now, Barbie is back for a brief stint on Below Deck Down Under Season 4, where, unlike her first season, she actually has a strong friendship with someone onboard.
As Elena “Ellie” Dubaich explained, Barbie is her “good friend.” Also, Ellie noted, Barbie was “going to have [her] back,” because she was “a ride or die” for Ellie. However, as soon as Barbie came aboard, she made it clear that she hoped to get along with her superior, so she might not be as confrontational as Ellie had hoped. But Barbie is already side-eyeing at least one of Ellie’s BDDU Season 4 foes, so maybe Ellie was right after all.
That said, we don’t know this version of Barbie just yet. In fact, Barbie has made several changes in her life since her first season. So, anything can still happen here.
Barbie Pascual and Fraser Olender fought during Below Deck Season 11
Barbie formerly worked under Fraser Olender. At the start of Season 11, Fraser came in strong, noting his desire to be a firmer leader. But Barbie lacked respect for his position, he felt. Meanwhile, Barbie did not feel seen or valued by Fraser.
By the end of Season 11, the divide between Fraser and Barbie was massive. Her feelings were all over the place. “All I’ve done this whole season is put my ego aside and work on myself,” she stressed. Even still, she added, “Nobody here cares about me.”
As a result, Barbie chose to exit filming one day early, saying, “I’m gonna go straight to a five-star resort.” Now, on BDDU, Barbie is working under Daisy Kelliher. Both Daisy and Barbie have made it clear that they want a peaceful union. Even still, Daisy did fire off a short text to Fraser, asking him for a little bit of background information on her new stew.
Barbie is not his “favorite employee. She’s stubborn. Good worker, though,” Fraser texted back. Luckily for Daisy, Barbie is a hard worker, from her tablescapes to her work in the interior, Daisy will finally have a fully capable team, workwise, that is.
Barbie’s already side-eyeing Jenna Woudberg on BDDU Season 4

Relationship speaking, however, Barbie is already weary of Jenna Woudberg. “Barbie is a beautiful girl,” Jenna admitted in her confessional as soon as Barbie walked on the yacht. “Massive resting b*tch face. Girl HATES me,” Barbie laughed in hers.
Later, Barbie asked Jenna about the boatmances onboard. So, Jenna filled her in about the various men that she had already formed a connection with. After their conversation, Barbie took to her interview, suggesting that “Jenna definitely loves herself,” and she is “Not a fan.”
Neither is her “good friend,” Ellie. In their cabin later that night, Barbie told Ellie about her talk with Jenna. Annoyed, Ellie said, “She’s out of her f*cking mind.” Joking, possibly, Barbie said, “Maybe, I’ll just flirt with Eddy [Hounsell] and piss [Jenna] off.”
When the crew went out on the town several scenes later, Barbie did talk to Eddy, but she also spoke with Ben Robinson, Jenna’s other crush. It was all pretty innocent and lowkey, yet Jenna still hated watching every second of it. With only one episode left in BDDU Season 4, will Jenna and Barbie choose peace, or will they opt for pettiness instead?
Barbie converted to Judaism after her OG season
Regarding our last question, we are hopeful that Barbie, at least, will choose a peaceful path. During Season 11, Barbie expressed a deep emotional connection to Judaism. “My soul is Jewish,” she said. She also expressed her desire to convert, just “not yet, but I’m gonna be one day, God willing.”
In this same season, Barbie shared that she felt a strong, emotional connection to Judaism after visiting the Kotel (Western Wall) in Israel. At the start of this year, Barbie posted an image of this very same trip, writing, “In 2020, I was at the Wall thinking I was ‘starting something.’ I had no idea how much work, growth, and transformation Judaism would bring or where I’d be now.”
Barbie has been sharing her “#convertingtojudaism” journey on Instagram ever since she departed from the original Below Deck series. As a part of her conversion, Barbie practices the concept of Tzniut.
The My Jewish Learning website defines Tzniut as “discreet habits, quiet speech, and affections privately expressed, and infers the avoidance of grossness, boisterous laughter, raucous behavior, even ‘loud’ ornaments.” By these accounts, Barbie is not likely to ruffle too many feathers during her brief stint on BDDU Season 4.
Below Deck Down Under airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo. Below Deck and BDDU are streaming on Peacock.
