Democrats trolled President Donald Trump by using National Napping Day to tease him over reports and images that show him sleeping during public events. The Democratic Party’s official X (formerly Twitter) account joined in on Monday, responding to a Pop Base post about the day with a jab at the 79-year-old. In the X post, the account joked, “Big day for the Commander-in-Sleep.”

In addition to the Democratic Party’s X account mocking President Donald Trump on National Napping Day for sleeping at public events, the Headquarters account also weighed in — according to the Daily Beast, former Vice President Kamala Harris’s team operates the account.
@HQNewsNow shared a photo of Trump seemingly sleeping during a November Oval Office event about agreements with GLP-1 drugmakers Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk. In the @TheDemocrats’ photo, Trump is sitting at a long table with his eyes closed, with aides sitting on both sides of him.
Per the Daily Beast, the online mockery began the same day House Speaker Mike Johnson praised Trump’s energy during a House Republican retreat at Trump’s golf resort in Miami, Florida. Johnson said Trump is “the most active president, the most energized president, the most successful president, I believe, in my lifetime, and he’s proven it over and over and over,” adding, “And part of it is because he doesn’t sleep, thankfully.”
Moreover, Johnson added, “He’s got so much to do,” and claimed, “And I know that because I get calls from him at 2 a.m. and 7 a.m., sometimes in the same day.” He reiterated, “He doesn’t require a lot of sleep, thankfully. And he is the man for the moment.”
By the end of National Napping Day, the unofficial holiday was all about the social media fight over Donald Trump’s stamina and what the public should believe when they see him sleeping on camera.
