Welcome back to our Real Housewives of Dubai Season 2, Episode 8 recap in Bali! In this week’s episode, “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Voice Note,” the ladies head off to paradise. But when a missing cast member finally arrives, the vibes on this trip dramatically change. Here is everything that transpired on RHODubai Season 2, Episode 8.
To Bali or not to Bali
Turning to her husband, Lesa wonders if Taleen and Brooks will be ok in Bali. She also wonders “if everyone is going to show up.”
Lesa then shifts gears, explaining in her confessional why the fight last week sucked. Here, Rafael Khanoyan jumped in to support Taleen. As Lesa notes, “This is a very Islamic culture where women are put on a pedestal and treated as queens, so to see a man shouting at a woman, it’s shocking.”
As for Taleen, she tells Raffi, “I’m scared to go to Bali.” She also notes that Brooks lied because Taleen “did not beg to be on the show.”
Brooks is packing on FaceTime with Sara. Brooks is not eager to be “stuck on an island with a fake ass b*tch like Taleen.”
Meanwhile, Stanbury wants an apology for her ruined housewarming party. “Everyone should have kept it for the next day. They all owe me an apology as far as I’m concerned,” she tells Sergio Carrallo.
At the airport, Sergio jokes that he is joining them. After a few WTFs, he laughs, saying he is flying to Spain. But he hands Stanbury a poster of himself. A woman must always remember her man.
Chanel arrives in glam, joking, “Imagine if the plane went down. Do you want me to die with sneakers and tights? Not me.”
Brooks is MIA. She also isn’t answering her phone. Due to this, the plane takes off without her.
The chasing of the “missing child”
During their first dinner in Bali, Sara makes a toast. She asks the ladies to try and intentionally resolve their conflicts. Everyone cheers. Afterward, Sara asks, “Are we going to report the missing child?”
Taleen then explains that she wanted to clear the air with Brooks on this trip. However, Chanel clocks this, asking, “Really? I heard you were chasing her at Stanbury’s house, saying ‘Where is your husband?'”
“Don’t go there when I said I don’t want drama. That’s dirty what you’re doing,” Taleen responds. “That’s what I heard,” Chanel explains. “First of all, I never chased anyone around the house,” Taleen begins, as Sara requests “Let’s not have this conversation because Brooks is not here.”
The topic shifts to Sara and her new relationship. It is going well, but in her culture, she cannot live with a man before marriage. Sara is good with that. She still needs time to sort things out.
Partying without the party planner
The theme of this trip is “Eat, Pray, Party.” Yet, Brooks is in charge of the party aspect, and she is still MIA. The ladies head back to the villa, eager to party despite this fact. They then get loopy, and “Ayan time” begins.
Chanel crawls on the ground in her tights and sparkly bra as Taleen confesses that she wants “to make love to the [heated] toilet seat.” Chanel starts dancing and dragging Stanbury, telling her to get her “old ass up” and dance. Stanbury relents and starts dancing, but in her confessional, her shade returns. “It’s amazing how one energy can affect so many people,” she states, referring to the fact that Brooks is absent and everyone is getting along.
But then, their doorbell rings. Brooks has arrived.
Brooks reveals that she had second thoughts about attending but later changed her mind. She flew private, landing only a few hours after the others, despite an 8-hour flight departure difference. “Brooks did not come by private jet. That would have been a quarter of a million-dollar trip,” Stanbury jests in her interview.
Now in her nightgown, Chanel picks back up her dancing as the others head off to bed. Chanel is annoyed. She wants to party. Invite me next time, Chanel.
Holding others accountable
The next day, the ladies board a yacht. After snapping their thirst traps, Brooks tells Chanel that Taleen has changed. Chanel encourages her to talk to her friend. They join the others.
Taleen leaves. Stanbury tells Brooks that her healing journey has made her worse. She calls her “prickly” and tells her to “stop the healing.”
Several ladies jump into the ocean as Chanel reveals a plot twist to Stanbury and Taleen via a flashback. In Chanel’s WhatsApp, she received a voice note from Lesa. In it, Sara says, “Babe, I’m not her [Brooks] biggest fan.” Stunned that Sara has jumped the ship, Taleen suggests Chanel play this recording again in Bali for Brooks.
‘Oop.
That night, Brooks tells the cast what Stanbury said about her healing journey. Sara and Saba question this, but Stanbury explains that Brooks is no longer speaking up now that Sara is speaking for her. “It’s called friendship,” Sara explains.
“Since we’re being so honest. If Sara were such a good friend, she needs to have accountability for the voice note you played us,” Stanbury casually throws out, earning her Season 3 full-time gold bar like a pro.
Lesa tells Chanel this is “f*cked up,” noting she can no longer trust Chanel. As for Sara, she points to Chanel and Lesa, saying “This is f*cked up.” Meanwhile, Brooks is shocked, staring wide-eyed at Sara, unable to speak.
TO BE CONTINUED appears as the credits roll on RHODubai Season 2, Episode 8.
