Netflix is the place to go when you want to binge a juicy reality show. The streaming platform began producing reality shows in 2018 but has already pushed the genre to the cutting edge. The reality shows coming out of Netflix are spicy, dramatic, and often jaw-dropping.
If you’re looking for a reason to be glued to your couch this week, we have you covered.
Here are the best reality TV shows to binge on Netflix in 2024:
Love is Blind on Netflix
Season 6 of Love is Blind was released in February and boy, was it juicy. Viewers watched as an excited group of North Carolina singles headed into “the pods” in the hopes of finding the love of their life sight unseen. Thankfully, Season 6 did not disappoint. It was just as messy as the previous five installments. There were fights, love triangles, and quite a few iconic lines we still find ourselves quoting. If you haven’t checked out the new season yet, you need to put it on your must-watch list right now.
Love on the Spectrum
Season 2 of Love on the Spectrum was released in January. The second season was equally as heartfelt and inspiring as Season 1. A few fan favorites from Season 1 returned to the show, including Dani Bowman and Abbey Romeo Lutes. In addition to the returning cast members, a few new singles were added to the mix. The new season was sweet, comforting, and seriously addictive. I think I watched the entire season in two days. I highly recommend it.
Queer Eye on Netflix
Netflix’s first reality program made its return in January with Season 8. In the new season of Queer Eye, we catch up with the Fab Five in New Orleans, Louisiana where they are tasked with transforming the lives of locals in the community. Per usual, the cast is more than equipped for the task. Season 8 featured heroes such as a football coach and a nun. It’s uplifting, inspiring, and definitely worth the watch. Run don’t walk to catch up on the latest episodes!
Perfect Match
Season 2 of Perfect Match was released in June. The new group of sexy singles included several Netflix fan favorites such as Love Is Blind star Jessica “Jess” Vestal and Dated & Related star Alara Taneri. Netflix’s favorite f*ck boy, Harry Jowsey, also joined the cast, and as usual, he broke some hearts. Perfect Match feels so much messier and less structured than other Netflix reality shows but that is exactly why it is so compelling. Everyone’s hot, everyone’s being insane, what more could you ask for?
The Circle on Netflix
The Circle returned for its 6th season in April. The competition-based reality show uses the power of social media to create a complex, ever-changing social strategy game in which the winner will walk away with a cash prize. This year, the program featured an AI twist to confuse and challenge the players. Want to know more? Well, check it out on Netflix, duh!
Still to come this year…
In addition to the reality shows Netflix has already released in 2024, there are a few beloved shows returning later this year.
The Mole will return for its 7th season on Friday, June 28. The series originally aired on ABC from 2001 to 2008. It was brought back to life by Netflix in October 2022 after a fourteen-year hiatus. The format of the show is simple. Twelve players are given a number of tasks to complete to earn money for a group prize. But wait, there’s a catch. Among the group of 12, there is a “Mole” whose sole job is to sabotage the game. If the contestants want to grow the prize pot, they better figure out the identity of the Mole quickly.
Another show that is returning this summer is Too Hot to Handle. The show first aired during the COVID-19 pandemic and provided the exact kind of mind-numbing entertainment we were craving. Basically, a bunch of hot people try to not hook up with each other to earn money. Yup, that is the premise. It may sound out there but it is beyond fun to watch.
