Someone convince me that this is not the worst Real Housewives of Orange County season yet. Aside from Shannon Beador gloriously throwing that plate full of food, nothing has happened. Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge met up during the last episode and they didn’t make up. They barely even argued. Basically they just wasted my time. No one even uttered a gif-worthy line.
Then there’s Peggy Sulahian and her husband Diko Sulahian forcing us to celebrate a 22nd wedding anniversary. Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that they have been able to make it work for so long and I actually do see the love between them, but who has a party for twenty two years of anything? Twenty years? Makes sense. Twenty five years? Even better. But twenty two? That’s almost as ridiculous a Ramona Singer having a full on vow renewal for her seventeenth wedding anniversary-a couple years before filing for divorce.
This is a major reach for a story line. For all I know these two have an anniversary party every single year, but I’m just theorizing that they threw this one specifically for the reality TV cameras. Nevertheless, I wasn’t entertained and feel like we all wasted our time watching. Sure, that’s on me because I refused to change the channel as an eternal Real Housewives loyalist, but I just want more from this show.
Shannon was contractually obligated to write about discussed the last RHOC episode in her Bravo blog. As Tamra’s BFF, it makes sense that Shannon admitted, “This is a frustrating episode for me to watch. It started with Vicki and Tamra finally having a sit down on their own and then somehow Vicki turned it into the usual pity party where everyone needs to apologize to her. ” Vicki has tried to turn this whole series into a pity party. It hasn’t worked, but if she requests a casserole one more time, I’m going to lose it.
Shannon continued, “And she said outrageous things like ‘Maybe Eddie [Judge] was with you to get a gym???’ Did Vicki think that was going to make everything better between her and Tamra??? The woman never stops. Vicki is delusional, but we’ve seen that for the last couple years. She can dish out complete lies and then expects people to somehow apologize to her for her own outlandish behavior.”
Vicki kept talking about how she just wants to be good with Tamra, yet she accused her husband of using her to open up a business during their peacemaking meetup. That was not the best strategy.
Aside from an anticlimactic meeting with Vicki and Tamra, the viewers were subjected to Diko attempting to earn an orange pulling Shannon aside to talk at his own party.
Shannon said, “You can see how uncomfortable I am because I didn’t understand what was happening. One thing is for certain — if Diko or Peggy had a problem with my husband, they should have spoken to David. David said he thought Diko was a nice guy. I hadn’t discussed any of Peggy’s health issues with David prior to Lydia’s [McLaughlin] boat party (can’t say balls again), so the conversation you see between David, Diko, and Doug [McLaughlin] was completely organic. And if David thought there was some sort of issue with Diko after the boat party, I would have heard about it. I was just dumbfounded that Diko chose to focus on this non-issue when celebrating his 22nd wedding anniversary. Spend time with your wife. Spend time with your guests.” Clearly Diko was thirsting for some camera time – even he knew that their anniversary wasn’t enough to carry the episode.
Shannon wrote, “And then let’s get to Peggy who was so hurt and ‘disgusted’ by David engaging in a confusing conversation. She wasn’t even there. But she was so hurt, is still so hurt. Wow, Peggy. This is big night. Focus on the important things, like celebrating 22 years of marriage.”
The Sulahians were definitely out to get some camera time and generate a story line. They had no other reason to talk to Shannon about a conversation that she didn’t take part in and wasn’t even aware of.
Shannon declared, “I’m pretty much over people continually accusing me, or those close to me, about things that have never happened. But this is just an example of the Sulahians trying to stir things up. And Peggy says she wants all the women present in my conversation with Diko so I don’t twist things around???” The more cast members present for the conversation, the more likely that it will be a part of the episode. Duh. That’s how reality TV works.
Shannon insisted, “I had no idea any of this utter nonsense was an issue. You can see it in my face the entire time. At that point, I just wanted to leave. Yes Peggy, I apologized. Yes Diko, I apologized. Not sure for what because it is not in David’s character whatsoever to be investigative or interrogative when speaking with others. But you all saw the episode last week. David was only engaging in conversation. Plan isn’t working Sulahians.” It really isn’t. They have provided nothing useful to Season 12. Then again, the same sentiment can be applied to the rest of the cast.
TELL US – IS VICKI DELUSIONAL? ARE DIKO AND PEGGY TRYING TO STIR THINGS UP OR ARE THEY GENUINELY UPSET?
