I wasn’t expecting much from the Real Housewives of Potomac season two premiere after the so-so first season, but there does seem to be drama brewing between Gizelle Bryant and Charrisse Jackson-Jordan that has potential to legitimatize this installment in the Real Housewives franchise.
Another interesting element of RHOP is Robyn Dixon‘s inexplicable relationship with her live-in ex Juan Dixon. They are together, but they are not together, yet they are living together and may or not be hooking up. This concept itself is interesting, but I have to admit that I wasn’t exactly glued to my screen after more of the same story line we saw last year. I need a little more – but I’m willing to give this show a second chance.

Robyn opened up about their unusual relationship and the animosity between Gizelle and Charrisse in her latest Bravo blog.
One of (many) annoying story lines is Robyn‘s move to a townhouse. This annoys me because she doesn’t even live in the city from the show’s title and because she’s completely ignoring the foreclosure that forced her into this living situation. So I find it pretty disingenuous when Robyn faux bragged, “I’ve actually been enjoying the new home. It is brand new and beautiful and has really simplified my life. We got rid of so much junk we didn’t need and didn’t have room for and it’s so much easier to keep clean!”
Right. Nothing like a foreclosure to “simplify” your life…. allegedly.
Robyn confessed, “Moving from my home and into the townhouse was very difficult and emotional for me. I lived in my previous home for 13 years, since I was about 23, and experienced almost every significant milestone as an adult in that home, so it was just very emotional to have to leave.”
I wasn’t buying most of what she said about her living situation, but I couldn’t help laughing at her wording when she said, “The moving process from a larger home into a much smaller one was so hard though! It was kind of like trying to squeeze Karen‘s breasts into Ashley‘s bra!”
Of course, Robyn addressed her unusual relationship with Juan. “Juan and I chose to continue living together for very simple reasons. First, we didn’t want to incorporate too much change into the kids’ lives and thought that forcing them to move from the only home they knew and loved as well as starting a new school would be enough disruption for two little boys to handle at once.”
Robyn (sort of) addressed their money situation as well: “Also, continuing to live together makes the most financial sense for us both right now. We are able to live somewhere comfortably that we all enjoy without having to overextend our budget. We are both in a building phase in our careers and lives and feel it makes the most sense to create as little financial stress as possible.”

Which I interpret to mean that they are both praying that Real Housewives of Potomac actually finds a solid fan base and Robyn can procure a pay jump.
Robyn added, “This move has definitely brought us closer.” How much closer could they have been? They were sleeping in the same bed this whole time.
The one somewhat juicy story line from the premiere was the drama between Gizelle and Charrisse – two women that Robyn is trying to remain friends with. Robyn said, “As I sit back and think about the situation between Gizelle and Charrisse, I am really dumbfounded and can’t even figure out how we got here. Both ladies have gotten completely out of line and delivered low blows, but for what reason?!” For what reason? Screen time and potential reality TV fame. Duh.
Robyn continued, “Although I think both Charrisse and Gizelle were wrong for the things they said, I think what Gizelle said was far worse and really took their beef to an all-time high. Watching Gizelle spill Charrisse’s private business on national television, without really knowing if it is true, was so shocking and disappointing to see.”
I really don’t know why anyone would ever confide in Gizelle from this point on – she admitted that she has no issue sharing private information as soon as a friendship hits a snag.
Robyn said, “The confrontation between Charrisse and Gizelle in the alley of the theater was nowhere near what I was expecting, especially after talking to Gizelle and helping her understand that she was wrong and needed to hash things out with Charrisse. I thought these two grown women would have been able to hear one another out and move forward. At this point, I think I need to be done with this situation.”
Tonight on Real Housewives of Potomac: “Gizelle finds a new love interest in an old friend, while Ashley and Michael’s inability to mix business with pleasure continues to create tension in their marriage. The women (finally) attend Katie’s Casino Royale event, where they are less than impressed. Meanwhile, Karen organizes a high-class high afternoon tea in hopes of avoiding any low-class antics, but Gizelle gets her claws into Charrisse’s new friend Monique …. while Karen questions Robyn’s loyalty …. causing things to get a little improper.”
