So have you recovered fully from last week’s explosive ep? Have you had enough time to digest both your turkey dinner and the epic rock draw that capped off Survivor‘s special pre-Thanksgiving double episode? Well I hope so, because things are not slowing down at all. It’s hard to believe we’re down to just a few episodes left this season, and you always know the end is near once the famed “loved ones” episode hits the airwaves, as it will tonight.
Yes, after what was one of the best Tribal Councils ever, Jessica (and earlier, Chris) are now part of the growing jury that will reward this season’s Sole Survivor. We are down to just nine remaining players, so let’s get cued up for tonight’s big episode and see who we think might just be in the best position to win this thing.

So first things first: I want to let all of you know about TWO big things going on in the Survivor world.
First off, as I mentioned last week, please do yourself a favor and check-out the “Ponderosa Video” series on CBS.com. Every week after the episode airs (usually after midnight EST), you can check out a video of the person who was just voted out, picking up almost instantly from when they leave the game and following them to “Ponderosa,” which is the awesome place where the jury lives as they await the end of the game. These videos give you insight into the jury and provide for some really fun (or occasionally awkward or tense) moments. And in the case of Jessica, it reassures her fans that she is going to be okay after her devastating, emotional exit.
Secondly, it is time to vote for the “Survivor Hall of Fame” Class of 2016! If you are not familiar, YES, Survivor has its own official Hall of Fame! It was started back in 2010 and has grown into one of the coolest fan-driven activities out there. That’s because 50% of the vote each year as to who gets inducted is determined by fan vote. The other 50% of the vote is determined by the Hall of Fame “Executive Voting Committee,” which includes Host and Producer Jeff Probst, other Survivor producers, current members of the Survivor Hall of Fame, and just a SELECT handful of press members…in which I am proud to say that I am a part of! The Hall was created with full approval and backing of Survivor producers and CBS, and is curated by XFinityTV’s Gordon Holmes. Voting for the Survivor Hall of Fame is now open, and there are THREE main ways to vote:
- Twitter – Tweet your three picks to @SurvivorHall
- Email – Send your three picks to survivorhofvote@gmail.com
- Facebook – Leave your three picks as a comment on the “Survivor” Hall of Fame Facebook page
But do so quick, as voting ends this Friday, Dec 2nd.
The rules are that you can’t vote for someone already in the Hall of Fame, and you can’t vote for a current cast member, which means you can’t vote for anyone who was a part of this “Millennials vs. Gen-X” season. My Hall of Fame ballot will be revealed soon, and the Hall of Fame “Class of 2016” will be revealed the week leading up to the “Millennials vs. Gen-X” finale.
The current members of the Survivor Hall of Fame are: Parvati Shallow, “Boston” Rob Mariano, Richard Hatch, Russell Hantz, Sandra Diaz-Twine, Cirie Fields, Ozzy Lusth, Tom Westman, Rob Cesternino, Ethan Zohn, Amanda Kimmel, Kim Spradlin, John Cochran, Jonny Fairplay, Jerri Manthey, Ben “Coach” Wade, and Rudy Boesch.
With that out of the way, let’s set ourselves up for tonight! There will surely be some fall-out after the rock draw that sent Jessica out of the game. Basically, David, Ken, Adam and Hannah are now in the minority, but wait one sec…Will looked eager to flip sides during last week’s preview of this week. In the era of the “voting bloc,” there is no certainty anymore. David no longer has an Idol, and it remains to be seen if that Idol will be put back into play, so that leaves just Jay and Adam with Idols.
Speaking of Jay, he was Public Enemy #1 just two episodes ago but has quickly blended into the background as there seems to be bigger fish to fry. Zeke has now been officially “outed” as a serious threat in the game, so it will also be interesting to see how he rebounds and recovers this week.
Here is the official synopsis from CBS:
Episode 12 – “About to Have a Rumble” – Castaways receive a much-needed reward in the form of love, and one castaway works hard to build their resumé in the game, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, Nov. 30 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
It’s sure to be emotional…the loved ones episode always is. But this time around it could be especially dramatic, because remember that Adam has the ability to steal someone else’s reward. A dick move like stealing someone’s time with their loved one would all but end Adam’s chances in the game…but could he try using it strategically, like say, giving this power to someone else? Would anybody want to steal someone else’s loved one? The episode preview video teases that this may happen, but we’ll have to wait and see.
As for the synopsis saying that someone will be trying to build their resume? Everyone is a candidate for this, because there is still much resume to be had. If the “lines in the sand” remain the same as last week – and that’s a big “if” – Adam‘s Idol could come into play. The key here will be that tease about Will shifting sides…Will is definitely a player in need of boosting his resume in the game, and a big move at this point might just be his best option…and even though he’s been under-the-radar this season, the jury will have its fair share of Millennial voters, who will be forced to cast their vote. If Will were up against a Gen-Xer, may he just be a dark horse?
“The Fans Have Spoken” – Man, the comment section was alive and electric last week following Jessica‘s rock draw exit! There were lots of strong opinions on what went down, but the most surprising development for me was how many of you seemed to turn on Zeke! He had been a favorite for most of this season, but many are beginning to think that power is going to his head. Also, that they didn’t appreciate how Zeke and Bret tag-teamed on David at Tribal. There seems also to be some mixed emotions towards Sunday, and although there were some positives, most of you don’t seem to care for Sunday all that much. I think she’s playing a good game, and nobody can be really mad at her at this point. She’s a sneaky one, and a person that may not be the target from week-to-week.
As many of you pointed out, our loyalties this season seem to shift week-to-week as well, so just because we’re cheering for someone this week, we may end up hating their guts by this time next week. That’s true for all, except one: the lovely Ken, who seems to have been given Immunity by many of you because, well, he’s hot, and he’s nice. That, my friends, is a deadly combination, but one that has many of you pulling for him to win it all.
Be sure to check back here tonight as we recap things again, and remember to cast your vote in the Survivor Hall of Fame.
TELL US – WHO DO YOU THINK WILL GO HOME TONIGHT? WILL ADAM USE HIS ADVANTAGE AND STEAL ANOTHER PERSON’S LOVED ONE? AND WHO WILL YOU BE VOTING FOR IN THIS YEAR’S SURVIVOR HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2016?
