This Jules Wainstein divorce saga is getting more dramatic by the day and I feel like it just barely got started. And it was all “coincidentally” timed to line up with the one episode that shows Michael Wainstein’s obvious flaws as a husband and the cracks in their marriage.
It was super awkward to watch in general- let alone in light of the divorce announcement and the subsequent drama. Jules said that they split because Michael was cheating on her. Jules called the cops on Michael after an altercation in their home. Michael denied cheating on her and blamed the show for their split. So naturally, the Real Housewives of New York fans want to know what the other Housewives have to say- especially Dorinda Medley since she’s been friends with Jules the longest.

I was cringing while I watched that awkward double date during the last episode with Dorinda, her boyfriend John Mahdessian, and the Wainsteins. Not only were they late, but Michael was apparently hitting up the “hot coat check girl” and suspiciously attached to his phone. Even if the divorce news did not come out that day, I still would have been suspicious watching the episode.
It really makes me wonder what Dorinda was thinking since she got to witness the weirdness first hand. Dorinda took to her Bravo blog to address the elephant in the room.
Dorinda started out where that scene took off and jumped right back into to giving marriage advice: “Let me fill you in on some facts… They were over an hour late. So what else is there to do? #MartiniTime! And when they showed up, you could cut the tension better than the steaks we were served. And you know me…Dorinda likes to make it NICE, so I proceeded to try and give some advice — some Martini-fueled advice, but it was all from a good place. I’ve been married twice, and I can tell you this: The best of marriages have those moments where you love him so much, you can’t breathe. And then there are times where you can’t stand him to save your life. Clearly this was one of those moments.” I’m not really sure how she could say that now given the nastiness that has played out since the divorce announcement. Personally, I find it tough to just chalk this up to a typical marital hiccup.

She also acknowledged that she had no idea what was going on with Jules and Michael during that time period: “But also, we now know there was much more going on behind the scenes that even I didn’t see. I realize there were deeper problems now, with Michael always being late, always on the phone, taking selfies, joking about hot nannies or hot girls… Much deeper problems, sadly.” She’s not really sharing any unique insight here, but it’s definitely what all the viewers have been thinking.
Dorinda didn’t share any new information, but she said that she would be there for Jules: “It’s always sad when a family has to go through that and a marriage breaks apart. Had I known it was the beginning of the end, I would have just asked for the check instead of another glass. But I’m here for you, Jules. We all are.”
I was hoping to get a little more inside information, but I get that as Jules’s good friend, it really wouldn’t be a good idea to unleash some major scoop in a Bravo blog entry.
TELL US- WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT THE WAY JULES AND MICHAEL’S MARRIAGE WAS DEPICTED DURING THAT EPISODE?
