Why Did Landon Clements Turn Down A Role On The Hills?

If you thought that Landon Clements looked familiar when she first joined Southern Charm, you might have caught on to something. No, you’re not going crazy. You might have actually seen her before on another TV series. Pre-Southern Charm, Landon appeared on the iconic reality series The Hills.

Wait. What!? She was on the show because she was friends with both Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag. Not only that, but Landon also worked for events producer Brent Bolthouse, where Heidi also “worked.” 

The people at MTV even approached Landon about being a full-time cast member, but she turned them down. Umm, come again?! The Hills was such a major television phenomenon. How could she not be into that? Well, it turns out that Landon had some pretty valid reasons to decline the offer.

This is not the first time that a person associated with The Hills has claimed that the drama was less than authentic, so Landon‘s comments should not be super shocking. Landon told Page Six,  “With The Hills, I didn’t feel that comfortable developing my story. They wanted me to go after so-and-so’s boyfriend and all this. That’s not me.” At this point, no one is at all surprised to hear this type of claim. Nevertheless, as a die hard fan of the faux reality show, I am wondering whose boyfriend MTV was pushing her to steal and I’m sure I’m not the only one who is curious.

Landon also felt like she was not experienced enough to take on the reality life. She said,  “I wasn’t on the show that much because, at the time, I really wanted to build my career. I was in my twenties and I wasn’t ready for it.” How refreshing. A twenty-something girl who is not desperate for fame and preferred to focus on her career. She is a real novelty, that’s for sure.

Landon has been on Southern Charm for two seasons and she feels like that is a way better fit for her. Landon explained, “Hanging out at the beach with all of my guy friends is me, I feel comfortable with that.” That makes sense. I don’t blame her at all for declining the opportunity to steal someone else’s boyfriend on a nationally televised show. Hanging with people that she is really friends with and living out her actual life seems like a much more enjoyable gig to me.

Now, I have so many Hills related questions that I would love to ask Landon. First and foremost, if she still keeps in touch with Lauren and/or Heidi.

Jax Taylor And Tom Schwartz Step Up To Defend Lisa Vanderpump

The women on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have really gone in on Lisa Vanderpump this season – well, except for Kyle Richards and Kathryn Edwards, who are staunch LVP supporters. The rest of the ladies have been claiming that Lisa is very manipulative behind the scenes of the show. The queen bee is being attacked left and right and whether you think it’s justified or not, you have to admit that it has to be a lot for her to handle.

This is the exact opposite of how things go on Vanderpump Rules. For the most part, the workers at SUR adore and obey LVP. Lisa‘s employee Jax Taylor and occasional restaurant staffer Tom Schwartz came to her defense in response to the RHOBH drama.

During a Bravo interview Jax said, “I don’t really watch [RHOBH] that much, so I’m kind of clueless on it, but I don’t really see that happening.” This is not at all shocking. Jax and Lisa have always got along pretty well, no matter what he does at her restaurant SUR, so it make sense for him not to talk trash about his boss. He definitely could have said something more definitive to help the woman out, but he tried and I don’t blame him for being wary when it comes to sharing an opinion without any context.

Tom, who has admitted to crushing on LVP several times on Vanderpump Rules, was much more adamantly #TeamLisa with his defense. Tom said, “To me, it’s surprising because usually, the way I see Lisa is cool, calm, collected, the voice of reason. And to hear [her] in the trenches, it’s a surprise for me.” Tom thinks the world of Lisa, so it is not surprising that he would defend her against these manipulation claims or any other criticisms.

Tom also said, “I’ve never really seen her be manipulative, but I will say she has a way with words. She can win you over very easily with her words.” In his eyes, Lisa is just a charming women, so maybe the other women got this wrong? Tom praised LVP even further and went a little bit off topic when he said that she is “very convincing. She’s persuasive. And incredibly charming. Don’t get me started on Lisa.” So maybe it’s possible that Lisa is just a mesmerizing person who is easy for others to agree with? That could be a positive spin on what the RHOBH ladies have been claiming.

Whether you love LVP or hate her, it is nice to see that she isn’t fighting this war of words on her own since she has the Pump Rules cast to support her.

Luann de Lesseps Reacts To Carole Radziwill’s Trash Talk

These women on Real Housewives go through a lot of drama- and then they have to watch it all again on TV and hear what everyone had to say behind their back. So I imagine that makes it pretty difficult to get past an argument with a friend (or even a frienemy). On the latest episode of RHONY, Luann de Lesseps did what she could to make amends with Carole Radziwill, but Carole was not having it. Neither of them felt like they had anything to apologize for so they just agreed to be cordial…supposedly.

Carole made a lot of comments about Luann during the interviews so I guess that agreement was short-lived. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to say that this whole fight should be put on Carole, but they both talked a lot of shit about each other. So they both should have just apologized. At least Luann tried to be civil in the Hamptons, but just like the rest of us fans, she also watched the episode and was caught off guard by Carole‘s comments about her. Luckily for us, we don’t have to wait for the next RHONY reunion to hear what she has to say. Luann put all of her reactions in her Bravo blog this week.

Even though I really do think it’s childish that neither of these women would apologize to each other, I still feel like Luann was trying her best to be civil during the latest episode. So it must have been a major slap in the face to watch the show and see Carole making jabs against her.

Carole really had a lot say about everything Luann did in the Hamptons. She even took issue with her entrance to Bethenny Frankel‘s party. Luann mentioned this in her blog, “You can see when I arrived at Bethenny’s party that I was in a great mood and that I brought a hula-hoop just for the fun of it. Who doesn’t love hula-hoops? If Carole doesn’t like the way I make an entrance, she should stay home. Instead she talked about me behind my back and was a huge downer.” I don’t really see why it is so awful to bring a hula hoop to an outdoor party. I really get why Carole would not like Luann, she talked a lot of trash about Carole, but come on: taking issue with a hula hoop is not making you look good either, Radzi.

Luann emphasized that she was trying to make peace during that party when she wrote, “I was completely ready to make up and move forward, but Carole will not let go of an argument that lost its relevancy a year ago! Old news! Instead of burying the hatchet, I felt like Carole was chasing me with one.” I’m pretty sure she quoted her own line from the episode with that last line, but I don’t blame her because it was pretty on point and clever.

Then when Carole explained that she was surprised Luann brought a date to brunch because “usually her dates don’t stay for breakfast,“ I was floored. SHADE THROWN. But I guess that was more of a blatant insult since it lacked the subtlety of shade. As expected, Luann did not take too kindly to that remark either. In response to that she wrote, “What Carole said about my date Paul making it all the way to brunch was rude and shows that she will be nice to my face while insulting me behind my back. Her focus on my love life says more about her than it does about me.” Although the comment made for great TV, I don’t think it was necessary to make, especially if the two of them just agreed to be cordial.

As usual, The Countess was able to articulate her reactions and burns with a succinct sting. And if I “know” her at all, I have a feeling that she is using all of this to inspire a brand new single that I will shamelessly bop along to.

Throwback Thursday – Yolanda Foster On Hollywood Women (Aka Hollywood Vrouwen)

Nearly four years to the day when we exclusively broke the news that Yolanda Hadid was joining the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, we’re taking a look back at how she wound up here!

RHOBH is not Yolanda’s first foray into reality TV. Back when she was engaged to David Foster and planning their wedding of the century, she was a cast member of Hollywood Vrouwen, aka Hollywood Women, before she got her bigger break on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.  Fun fact: we can thank Hollywood Women for this little nugget.

Bethenny Frankel: “A Bitch I May Be…But An Honest One”

It’s easy for me to say that I enjoy Bethenny Frankel‘s bluntness, because, you know, I never actually have to sit face-to-face with Bethenny Frankel. But, when it comes to Real Housewives of New York each week, she keeps me on the edge of my seat. Which is more than I can say about the past six months of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

In her blog, Bethenny defends her “at least you know where you stand with me” approach to life, but she also acknowledges that she was out of line Jules Wainstein‘s brunch.

“I am a reality star on a reality show. Bravo asked me to return because they feel that I am honest, direct, and don’t manufacture drama or edit myself. This episode is a brutally honest example of that. I always say: You may not like me, but you know you’re getting the truth. I will forever stand by my tagline,” says Bethenny. “You will also see that if I say or see something, it usually comes to fruition, often before the audience or the other Housewives see it. Please refer to my eight years on reality television.”

Bethenny makes it be known (not that there’s any doubt) that she doesn’t like John. Nor does she trust his influence over Dorinda Medley.

Bethenny feels it was a mistake for Dorinda to bring John to her birthday party just two days after their confrontation (“He attacked my personal life and the business that I created from scratch when I was broke. This is when I become like a lion protecting its young.”) and it was a mistake for John to come.

“The sight and presence of him was too much for me,” blogs Bethenny. “I did not want him there. I made that clear. I didn’t buy his apology. Now I need to try to suck it up for Dorinda. A bitch I may be but an honest one. I don’t ‘act’ or play it up or down for the cameras because I know the audience may find me harsh. This guy had no place at my house two days after the incident.”

As for Jules‘ brunch, Bethenny, again, takes issue with John answering the door. “Why have John answer the door? Three days is not long enough for me to get over John‘s actions.” Better yet, why host such an intimate gathering at all, as “four of the seven in the group are in conflict.”

Bethenny admits she should have skipped Jules‘ brunch, “I made it clear to Carole [Radziwill] that I was dreading it, and I made a mistake in being there. I truly thought it would be a big group.”

“In my real life, like on my reality show, I speak candidly to my friends, one of whom is Carole. In that real world I tell my friends when I think someone lives in a McMansion or tries to show everyone how much money they have,” she says about Jules. “To me, bragging about nannies, not knowing how to make coffee, and your religious private Manhattan school needing your money is not for me. It is ‘all show and no go.'”

Bethenny brags on her “small” house, since Jules felt the need to compare, “I live in a beautiful house in a great area in the center of the Hamptons. It is paid in full by yours truly and completely finished. And she is right that you can put a roller coaster in her living room, but if I have to drive deep into the woods, step on nails and dog sh– to get there then, I won’t be riding it.”

She adds, “Jules has made several nasty age remarks about myself and my friends, blamed the John incident on me twice, and called me Debbie Downer,” teasing, “For now, let’s just say there is more to this than meets the eye.”

Bethenny acknowledges that she should have kept her renovation advice to herself. “And shame on us for going there if we couldn’t be gracious,” she continues. “Fittingly, the Alex and Simon‘s home was shown, and that was no accident. There are some similarities here. That said, I own my bitchiness as always. I made a mistake. All I can say is my bitchiness is there for everyone to see versus only when I’m in an interview chair.”

One last note about Jules, Bethenny says, “It is my gut and opinion that Jules has an eating issue. It is something I am very familiar and have too much experience with, and it makes me uncomfortable. I don’t want to put myself in a situation with a ‘smorgasbord’ between us. I am very sensitive about this, and it triggers me. You’ll see the softer side of me come out on this issue next week.”

Like I said, I appreciate Bethenny‘s bluntness because it makes for good TV, but I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of it. So, I’m curious about this “softer” Bethenny. Is that like a soccer ball to the face is “softer” than a golf ball to the face? It still hurts, but you might not lose a tooth or an eye? I can’t wait to find out.

Below Deck Mediterranean Premiere Party Brings Out The Bravolebrities – Photos

With less than a week to until the premiere of Below Deck Mediterranean, Bravo celebrated with a big bash last night in NYC.  The cast members partied it up with some of our other favorite Bravolebrities.

Southern Charm co-stars Landon Clements and Shep Rose walked the blue carpet together and so did the men of Vanderpump Rules, Jax Taylor and Tom Schwartz.

Ramona Singer must be over her aversion to being seen with Sonja Morgan because the former Real Housewives of New York besties were pretty chummy in these pics, along with co-star Carole Radziwill. Carole hit up this party and then rushed off to appear on WWHL with Ryan.

Even Captain Lee turned out to hang with the new cast members in attendance: Captain Mark Howard, Bobby Giancola, Ben Robinson, and more.

Why Does Kim Richards Feel Bad For Eileen Davidson And Lisa Rinna?

Kim Richards may not have been a regular Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member this season, but she wanted to share her thoughts on this week’s reunion episode.  Kim shared her joy over her upcoming grandchild and also gave her take on Lisa Rinna’s behavior – and more – this season.

“I want to start by saying thank you all for all the love, prayers and encouragement that you showed Monty and my family over these last two years.”  Kim misses him immensely, “but he has given me a new strength I never even knew!” Another thing that is giving Kim motivation and strength? The news that she’s going to be a grandma! “By now I’m sure you’ve heard the news that I am going to be a grandma. My daughter Brooke and son-in-law Thayer are expecting a little boy! I can’t wait for this exciting new chapter in our lives. I am thrilled and excited to be Grandma. I know Monty is up there watching over all of us. He is now our true guardian angel!”

Kim blogs that she is very happy to be back on good terms with Kyle, “this last year with my sister Kyle was a difficult time, and I missed her a lot. It was a rough one, but I am grateful to be where I am today. I want to thank you for all the love and support. The words of encouragement from all of you and the fellow sisters out there were so helpful. Of course Kyle and I had to be ready in our time and do the work ourselves. But it was encouraging to hear about other sisters in our corner. So many thanks to all of you.”

Kim didn’t watch the entire season of the show since she was preoccupied with getting better and taking care of herself, but she weighs in on what she did see and experience. “From what I did see, things seemed to only get worse with Lisa Rinna, and I and wasn’t even there to engage with her. I always seemed to be a constant topic of conversation for her and Eileen.”

She continues, “I’m a little baffled as to how after almost two years of some sort of a personal attack on me that her response was, “I was actually shocked oops…,” “That was wrong, and I’m sorry,” ” I wish you well,” “That’s what I’ve got for you,” and “I’m human.” I didn’t feel like I got a proper or sincere apology. She has done the same thing to my friends. For her to ever say the word Munchausen after everything Yolanda has been through is just AWFUL! What a hurtful thing to say. Yolanda already has enough on her plate. Lisa and Eileen have been talking about my friends and me since day one.”

Kim says she’s genuinely ready to accept an apology from Rinna and just move on, but she doesn’t feel Lisa’s apology was sincere, “I live in the now, not the past, and I don’t even choose to go into the future. So accepting an apology and moving forward is what I’m all about–if it is genuine. But I did not feel Lisa or Eileen were genuine. I feel bad about that. But I mostly feel bad for them. Living their lives constantly through other people’s worlds can’t be fun. Certainly there is no real happiness always storing and harboring negative energies.”

Big Brother’s Jeff and Jordan Wedding Photos! [Gallery]

When Big Brother showmance couple turned real life loves Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd found out they were expecting, it was a mad rush to the courthouse to get hitched pronto! The surprised but delighted pair decided to make things legal right away, and do the whole big wedding bonanza thing later on as plan. What was meant to just be a simple trip to the courthouse, however, turned into a beautiful and special day celebrated with friends.

Jeff and Jordan have already released one video of their impromptu wedding day, and plan on posting a full video of the ceremony soon. Meanwhile, they’ve also been doling out some impossibly cute photos of their happy (first) wedding day on YouTube and other social media outlets. We can’t wait to see their future grand nuptials ceremony in Cancun later, but it’s kind of cool to get to experience having a little small wedding with just a few friends as well! Not everyone gets to enjoy both kinds of marriage experiences!
