Below Deck Down Under Recap: Toxic Bosun Syndrome

When we were last aboard Thalassa, it looked like Benny Crawley was on the verge of being given his walking papers. But Below Deck Down Under immediately throws us a curve ball. C’mon, you didn’t really think Captain Jason Chambers was going to fire his favorite deckhand, did you? Instead, Benny merely gets a verbal warning. Much to the chagrin of Jamie Sayed. No, I take it back. It’s not chagrin so much as pure anger. He’s mad Captain Jason won’t listen to him and do exactly what he wants. Because he wants respect, authority and complete deference, even from his boss.

And that’s just the start of Jamie’s problems this episode. As the crew heads out for their night off, his toxic masculinity is on full display when the girls egg Magda Ziomek into playfully calling him a “b—h.” He’s already had a weird reaction to the word more than once — first with Brittini Burton on another night off, then with Aesha Scott in the crew mess. Both instances were purely jovial and completely harmless. But Jamie’s reaction each time was curt to the point of hostile, as he made it clear he finds the word to be degrading and disrespectful. And as we’ve come to learn, Jamie will be nothing if not respected. He’s clearly sensitive to the word in the sort of fragile straight male way that is just so off-putting. Like, calm down Joe Gorga, we get it.

But what’s even worse about this time is that Jamie then chooses to go off on a profanity-laced tangent at the bar. Calling both Brittini and Aesha the very word he apparently hates so much. So…he’s perfectly with degrading his female co-workers but they absolutely must show him the proper respect, or else? Is that what’s happening here? Disgusting. The bosun’s attitude brings down the vibe for the rest of the night. And by the time everyone gets back to the boat, he’s won’t even look in Brittini’s direction. Thankfully, Culver Bradbury‘s there to cheer her up.

The next morning, Magda wakes up in a panic. The third stew can’t find her phone. Which means she can’t contact her boyfriend. Which is, if we know anything about Magda’s relationship, the absolute end of the world. Of course, once she finds it using Brittini‘s Find My iPhone, she merely texts her boyfriend that she’s still mad at him and not speaking to him (*eye roll*). Meanwhile, there’s still a charter to prepare for. So Captain Jason gathers Aesha, Jamie and Chef Ryan McKeown for a preference sheet meeting. It’ll only be a 24-hour charter full of Brits. Who happen to be requesting a Mexican-themed dinner, chocolate fountain and British high tea for lunch. Ryan’s joke that they should just order UberEats does not go over well.

Jamie‘s still pouting from the night before. And decides the best course of action is to go complain to Captain Jason after the preference sheet meeting. It’s funny how at first he claims Brittini has been “calling some of the boys names.” Uh, that’s not accurate at all. And then he quickly lumps Aesha into the situation as well. Thereby setting off a chain reaction in which Captain Jason has to pull both the chief stew and the deckhand aside to quietly reprimand them for hurting Jamie’s feelings. Is this seriously happening right now?!? Aesha can only laugh at the absurdity, but Brittini breaks down in tears at the thought that she could’ve been fired for such a petty, inconsequential reason. And the best part, as Aesha points out to her, is that going crying to the captain is the actual definition of b—h behavior…

Well, it’s time to set all that aside because the guests have arrived. They seem ready to have a good time on their overnight charter. Chef Ryan, on the other hand, is not. From the moment they arrive, he’s complaining, calling the guests “tacky” and “classless” for their requests. And is it just me or is he being slightly prejudiced against British people? It’s very weird. Magda also isn’t too keen to work. Rather than make cocktails for the guests, she begs Tumi Mhlongo to do it. Because she just can’t muster up the energy today. There’s too much drama happening with her boyfriend, OK?

Dinner that night does not go well. And let me remind you that it’s the guests’ one and only chance at a dinner service. But Chef Ryan‘s bad attitude has leeched into the food by pure, toxic osmosis. So the beef tacos are way too spicy. The fish tacos are way too bland. And there’s nowhere to even plug in the chocolate fountain, despite Aesha reminding Ryan hours before service that he needed to figure out logistics for the dessert. But frankly, he couldn’t really care less. The guests go to bed early, which isn’t a great sign. And Aesha reports all the negative feedback privately to Captain Jason.

The next morning, Captain Jason decides to take things into his own hands. So in an attempt to save the sinking charter, he personally takes the guests out on a guided snorkeling tour of Cateran Bay. (Just one more thing for Jamie to complain about, surely.) But the high tea they’re graced with upon returning to Thalassa is no high tea at all. Ryan has thrown together lumpy-looking cheese “sandwiches” and pretty much called it a day. Where are the cucumber finger sandwiches cut into triangles? Where’s the color and whimsy? And these guests are British! They know what a high tea is supposed to look like. So sadly, they go home disappointed. Not a single meal was up to their more than reasonable expectations.

For some reason, the guests are still kind enough to leave a decent tip — $16,011. That’s more than generous considering the level of service they received from the galley. And it’s clear that things need to change. It doesn’t matter that there are only two charters left in the season. A simple, overnight charter like had absolutely no excuse to go as terribly as it did. Especially this far into the season. Aesha‘s already been thinking of replacing Magda, who spent the whole night before fighting with her boyfriend over the phone in the bathroom while she was trying to sleep. And now Jason reveals that he finally has several replacements in place for every single department.

So, Aesha makes her decision and Magda‘s the first to go. At first, it doesn’t seem like the third stew really understands she’s being fired. But after a bit of explaining from Captain Jason, she takes it with a smile. She’s less happy, though, breaking the news to Tumi and Brittini. And just when you think the staff slaughtering is over, the captain waltzes into the galley for a chat with Chef Ryan. And…cut to black. To be continued strikes again!

Kathy Hilton Thanks A Fan Who Called Lisa Rinna “Fake”

We haven’t actually seen Kathy Hilton yet on this season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but still, she’s already a hot topic. Even when season 12 was filming, we heard rumblings about her questionable behavior. Did she skip out on the first part of the season to try to grab a bigger paycheck? Did she actually say those horrible things to Sutton Stracke’s assistant? And what in the world really happened on that cast trip to Aspen? We’re still a few episodes away from getting the answers, but what we do know is that right now, Kathy is not on good terms with Lisa Rinna.

In between posting receipts about Elton John’s charity gala, Lisa has been slamming Kathy Hilton. The other day, supposed direct messages from Lisa leaked, where she accused Kathy of being a homophobe and a racist. The message allegedly from Rinna said, “Here’s the thing if you’re gonna be on a reality show honey and you’re a homophobic racist you probably should’ve stayed home.”

Yikes. Meanwhile, Kathy has been pretty quiet regarding all of the season 12 drama. She’s busy doing rich lady things, and it seems like engaging in a full-on social media war with Lisa Rinna might be a bit beneath her. However, she couldn’t help but step into some mess, and thanks to the Instagram account @bravohousewives, there are screenshots to prove it.

While headlines dominated the internet about Rinna’s leaked DMs, Kathy jumped into her Instagram comments to thank a fan for calling Rinna fake. So, even though she isn’t directly commenting on the RHOBH tea, you know she’s in tune with what’s being said.

A fan wrote on Kathy’s Instagram comments saying, “I don’t believe anything that’s @lisarinna releases to the media. #fake team @kathyhilton.” Kathy replied to the fan, saying, “Thank you,” along with the smiling face with hearts emoji.

It’s hard to know what to believe. Kathy was so lovable in her first season; it’s hard to imagine her taking such a hard left turn into a villainess. And then on the other hand, Rinna has a seven-season track record of throwing away friendships and being at the center of the drama. But why would she come for Kathy this hard if there wasn’t any truth to it? And how does Kyle Richards feel about all of this? At this point, let’s just fast forward to the reunion. These ladies have some explaining to do.

Caroline Manzo Says She Would Return To Real Housewives Of New Jersey To “Knock The S— Out Of” Teresa Giudice

Caroline Let Me Tell You Something About My Family Manzo has been off Real Housewives of New Jersey since 2013. But clearly, she’s been paying attention. The outspoken former housewife has plenty to say about her former friend and franchise OG Teresa Giudice.

As reported by Page Six, Caroline sat down with son Albie Manzo on his podcast, aptly titled Dear Albie. The ominous title of the episode? “Caroline Manzo, out for blood.” A “fan letter” asked if Caroline would ever come back to RHONJ to “straighten out Teresa once and for all.” Caroline got straight to the point and said, “I’m just gonna put it out there ’cause I just don’t give a f–k, alright? You know what? I would get great pleasure, fans, community, to go in and just knock the s–t out of [Teresa] verbally and just put her in her place.”

She continued, “I am tired. I am tired of certain things. I am tired of her opening her very uneducated mouth and using me as a weapon to say that I was the one that spearheaded her IRS claim and stuff like that. We are not those people.” Caroline added, “Sometimes, you gotta smack the bully. I am more than happy to go smack the bully.” Ok, I’m not opposed to someone putting Tre in her place. But I think Caroline is inserting herself into drama where she’s not relevant. Not even one bit.

So why isn’t Caroline putting her money where her mouth is? According to her, it’s a problem with Bravo’s money. Caroline claimed, “Bravo doesn’t wanna pay me. So guess what, Bravo? You don’t get this for free. You don’t get the dame for free, Bravo. They are paying Teresa, I’m sure, an exorbitant amount of money.” Translation – Bravo isn’t asking her back.

For her part, Teresa did recently say that she thinks she would still be friends with both Jacqueline Laurita and Caroline had it not been for the show. When asked the question, Teresa simply said “Yeah.” She then shared, “With Caroline, I wasn’t that close with her. I was respectful to her because she was the sister, and I was close to Dina [Manzo].”

But it’s well known that Tre is still close with Dina, who hasn’t spoken to her sister in years. Thing are now seemingly irreparable after Dina and her new husband were violently attacked in a home invasion. Dina’s ex-husband, Tommy Manzo, was allegedly the culprit, along with an accomplice. Tommy is still claiming he’s innocent but Caroline, who shall go down in history as the worst sister ever for this, wrote a letter advocating for his release from prison. So much for family. Caroline should be worried about her own instead of Teresa but feel free to make your best argument in the comments!

PS – a not so fun fact is that Caroline wasn’t the only one who vouched for Tommy. Dina recently revealed that current RHONJ star Dolores Catania also provided a character witness statement on his behalf.

Lala Kent’s Ex Randall Emmett Sued For $10 Million In Damages Due To Alleged Unpaid Loan

More legal trouble for Randall Emmett. The movie producer, who is best known for being Vanderpump Rules’ star Lala Kent’s ex-fiance, is facing another lawsuit. Back in April, news broke that he was slapped with a lawsuit for “conspiracy to commit fraud” on another one of his direct-to-streaming films. The movie starred Mel Gibson and was released in 2020. The suit accuses Randall and his producing partner of intentional misrepresentation, fraudulent concealment, conspiracy to defraud, and breach of contract.

Now Radar Online has obtained court documents on a new lawsuit against Randall. This time, the plaintiffs want Randall to pay $10.8 million in damages for defaulting on a loan. Once again, Randall, his producing partner and his production company are named as the defendants.

As per the court documents, a UK-based company The Fyzz Facility (TFF) is claiming breach of contract. They are alleging that they entered into a bridge loan agreement with Randall et all to provide a $4 million loan to produce the film Mexicali.

The terms were that producers had to use the money for the film only. In addition, withdrawing of funds had to be approved by TFF and Gerard Butler had to star in the film. Finally, it was agreed upon that accounting would be shared regularly.

Apparently, after loaning out the $4 million, TFF later found out that $1.25 million was paid to Gerard’s talent agency. Court documents read, “Neither Borrower nor defendants have repaid any of the monies advanced under the Bridge Loan Facility.”

TFF alleges that they found out in March of 2020 that Randall had used the money to pay the movie star for another movie called Hair of The Dog. TFF claims that Randall did not have the green light from them to do so. In addition, Randall and his partner were supposed to pay back the loan from fees earned on other projects. TFF said that didn’t happen.

This is just part of a series of legal troubles for Randall, who is also being sued by his landlord for unpaid rent on his Los Angeles office. He allegedly stopped paying his $17K a month in rent and moved out prior to the lease being over. Randall countersued, saying that the landlord shut down the building during the pandemic therefore, he couldn’t use his office. The suit has yet to be resolved.

As for Randall’s personal life, back in October of 2021, he requested that courts lower his child support to former wife, Ambyr Childers. The exes share two daughters and Randall claimed he was “close to bankruptcy” trying to maintain the payments.

In the request, it was also revealed that Randall owed $500K to the IRS. Finally, Lala has yet to file anything official in court, but has said that she will seek to obtain full custody of their one year-old daughter, Ocean Kent Emmett. While they are still coparenting, Lala has said she’s doing it with the least contact possible.

Dr. Lenny Hochstein Is Being Sued Again For Medical Malpractice

Dr. Lenny Hochstein likely has his attorney on speed dial these days. The husband of Real Housewives of Miami star Lisa Hochstein is facing another medical malpractice lawsuit. This will be his fifth once since 2019. Lenny, who is known as the “Boob God,” is being accused of making boobs that are anything but godly.

As reported by Page Six, a married couple is suing Lenny for $30,000. Zaydee Hernandez and her husband Juan Hernandez claim that Lenny mishandled Zaydee’s breast implant surgery. This allegedly caused her to undergo four additional surgeries, each one leaving her with an infection.

Zaydee claims that aside from receiving a mild antibiotic, she was left with “horrific scarring and no breasts.” Lenny had to ultimately remove her botched implants. She then went to her primary care physician, who gave her more antibiotics. She still ended up in the ER. An MRI showed “clear inflammatory changes consistent with an infection.” Zaydee then needed an IV to clear the infection.

The lawsuit claims that Lenny failed to “perform proper surgeries,” “secure proper and timely culturing.” He also failed to “order the proper antibiotic coverage” and “order an infectious diseases consult.” Documents state that this led Zaydee to suffer “mental anguish, psychological injury, embarrassment, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life.” Juan alleges that he will “suffer loss of his wife’s services, support, comfort, society and attention.”

Additional lawsuits against Lenny include a patient accusing him of leaving her with necrosis and sepsis. Lenny stated of the suit, “There was no malpractice. This case has no merit based upon the patient’s noncompliance with clear and direct physician orders.” In another case filed in 2021, a patient accused him of leaving her with “altered and deformed genitalia.”

But malpractice lawsuits are just one of many problems Lenny is facing. He was recently busted by wife Lisa while out with his girlfriend, Katharina Mazepa. News of their split has dominated the gossip sites as more messy details emerge. Lenny swears Lisa knew about their split and was aware he was dating the 26 year old model.

Lisa issued a statement of her own saying that she was blindsided. She also revealed that she found out about their breakup when Lenny announced it to the press. Lisa stated, “With two young children involved, as a mom I’m going to focus all of my energy and time on them. I’m blindsided by his behavior and reckless handling of the situation.”

Real Housewives Of Atlanta Recap: Big Apple, Bigger Drama

Marlo Hampton enlists Sheree Whitfield and Kenya Moore to help her with her new home plans. These are two legends of the home building process, so this should be good. I love that Marlo will have her own floor in this new house. She’s embracing her auntie status, but she’s always giving herself a lavish space of her own.

Kenya and Sheree love the plans for the new home so far. This house will likely be built in far less time than their respective abodes. The only downside of Marlo’s place is how far away she is from everyone else. Is her home even in Atlanta still?

Marlo and Kenya get into a spat about everyone’s questioning where her money comes from. She can’t be serious. She’s never been forthcoming about the origins of her income over the years. People are bound to ask questions.

Sheree plans on seeing Tyrone Gilliams while in NYC. FINALLY. It’s about damn time the women get to meet Sheree’s ex-con bae. He’s technically allowed to go there because it’s within the required radius.

Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker are still not vibing about this apartment he has. He wants her to be on board about it so bad, but she’s not interested. She doesn’t want a place that he was originally intending on using for himself and another woman.

Todd’s really good at flipping the script and making Kandi seem like the bad guy. Sometimes it seems like he punishes her for her success. I like Todd, but he can do a lot better as a husband. He’s not Ralph Pittman bad, but he still has room for improvement.

Drew and Ralph meet with their therapist, and this should be highly entertaining. Their marriage is a total trainwreck. Ralph’s harping on the fact of giving her a steak and lobster dinner and not the facts. He just doesn’t get it.

Their therapist calls them out for always attacking one another. They never listen to what the other is trying to say. They both come into every situation with their own agendas and ulterior motives. If their marriage continues down this same path for much longer, I can’t imagine it being successful.

Kandi’s invitation for her trip is a lot more provocative than what Marlo did. She has a whole ass half-naked woman show up to invite everyone. WAIT. OH MY GOD! It’s Patrick Dallas and Safari from Kandi and the Gang. I’m screaming! She had her own relative show up basically naked to do this.

Kenya’s running with the fact that Kandi had them show up doing that. I wonder if they’re going to feud. I doubt it though because that’s Kenya’s only true friend in the group.

NOT A SPRINTER VAN. The cast is going to ride in a sprinter van. Nothing good happens in a sprinter van. Someone be on the lookout for Homeland Security.

Kenya feels blindsided about it being a couple’s trip. She’s single, and she was never given the information about this. She’s also still pressed about the way Kandi invited everyone. I know she has a lot going on, but she’s looking for a fight with her only genuine ally. That’s a good way to end up on an island alone.

Sanya Richards-Ross says her wildest sex story is on a plane to Dubai, but Drew Sidora doubts it. She doesn’t think she ever got freaky outside of her bed. Why does Drew stay hating on everyone? She’s such a damn downer.

Everyone in the group is on decent terms so far on the first group trip of the season. However, the writing’s on the wall for future feuds to come. Sanya’s beginning to question Drew’s loyalty as a friend.

Drew says Sheree was evil at the tea part. That’s taking things a little too far. Sheree wasn’t even the one out there spilling the alleged tea about Ralph. It was her friend. Not only that, but shouldn’t both Sheree and Drew be directing their anger toward the assistant and not each other? The anger feels so misdirected.

Kandi and Todd are making things awkward for everyone in the sprinter van. They’re airing out their dirty laundry in front of the entire group. They should tread lightly. This is the type of group that will take an opening like that and run with it to cause chaos.

Everyone notices at dinner that Drew isn’t wearing her wedding ring. The producers flash to her constantly not wearing it. We love the shady editing!

Drew fills the group in about their therapy exercise which probably won’t go well. Ralph wants Drew to get over his mess with his assistant. He’s joking, right? That relationship and correspondence were highly unacceptable.

Kenya’s sticking up for Drew in a genuine effort to be a real friend to her. However, Ralph’s digging the hole deeper. Kenya’s leading the charge and really taking up for Drew. She accuses Ralph of tearing Drew down. It’s useless though. He laughs it off.

Ralph reminds Kenya so much of her ex Marc Daly because of the blatant gaslighting. Ralph’s completely comfortable feeding Drew bullshit to her face. She needs to stand up for herself and recognize her own self-worth. After two seasons of this show, her marriage is looking worse than ever.

Things quickly move to the feud between Drew and Sheree. Kandi tries to make sense of the situation and says the assistant is the originator of the rumor. Here we go!

Bethenny Frankel And Andy Cohen React To Jill Zarin Claiming That Bethenny Used Her Husband Bobby Zarin’s Funeral For Publicity

Former Real Housewives of New York City star Jill Zarin has been on a quest to return to the franchise ever since she was shown the door. When Andy Cohen announced that there was going to be a separate series with RHONY alums, Jill pounced. She tagged Andy with a phone emoji on the Bravo announcement about the RHONY: Legacy series.

While Jill didn’t get a call back from Andy, one of her former co-stars did. Bethenny Frankel revealed on her podcast, Just B with Bethenny Frankel, that she was offered an apple. But Bethenny doesn’t think that Bravo can afford her. That must annoy Jill.

Bethenny and Jill were fast friends in the early days of RHONY. But Bethenny’s increasing popularity drove a wedge between the duo. During Season 3, Jill famously told Bethenny that their friendship was over. “You know what Bethenny, we are DONE!” Jill exclaimed before hanging up on a shocked Bethenny.

Jill’s beloved husband, Bobby Zarin, who was very fond of Bethenny, lost his battle with brain cancer in January of 2018. Bethenny attended Bobby’s memorial service, which was filmed by Bravo cameras.

At the time, Jill explained that she wanted the cameras to capture this normally private moment. “This was all about memorializing Bobby — [there was] no drama,” Jill explained. “He was an important part of the show and a great friend to many who appeared on it.” Other RHONY stars attended Bobby’s service, including Sonja Morgan, Ramona Singer, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, and Aviva Drescher.

In April of 2022, Jill changed her tune about the reason that Bethenny attended Bobby’s funeral. “She came with cameras [to Bobby’s funeral], which I didn’t know were going to be there, so that changed it for me,” Jill stated. She added that she was so happy to see Bethenny that she didn’t question her motives. Bethenny did meet with Jill privately, but then allegedly went and and filmed with her RHONY co-stars, updating them about visiting Jill. “I did feel a bit used,” Jill remarked.

During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Andy and Bethenny discussed Bobby’s memorial service. Andy read a question from a fan. “Your response to Jill Zarin saying you showed up to Bobby’s funeral for publicity because you brought cameras. Now I believe that…go on,” Andy stated.

“I don’t own any cameras. So, I didn’t bring any cameras,” Bethenny responded. “Right,” Andy said.

Bethenny continued, “And I remember you and I had a discussion, and you told me that she wanted…why don’t you tell it.” Way to pass the hot potato, Bethenny!

“I think she invited us. I think she said, ‘If you want to cover this…If you want to include it in the show,’ by the way, which we did, because he was an important part of the show,” Andy stated.

“Right, and you know what?” Bethenny remarked as she held up a sign that read “agree.” Score one for Bethenny.

Jill’s daughter, Ally Shapiro, sounded off in the comments of Bravo’s WWHL Instagram page. “There’s so much I want to say,” Ally wrote.

Jill is a cast member on Season 2 of Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, which features former Housewives from different franchises. Jill and her co-stars will be living the dream in RHONY alum Dorinda Medley’s Berkshires mansion. The Season 2 trailer looks promising, and I’m looking forward to watching all the craziness unfold!

Below Deck Down Under Recap: A Christmas Story

It’s Christmas on Below Deck Down Under! And Benny Crawley is on the naughty list. Well, not Santa’s naughty list. Or even Captain Jason Chambers‘. But Jamie Sayed‘s? For sure. In fact, if the bosun were in charge of Christmas, Benny would be kicked out of the North Pole and get nothing but coal in his stocking for the rest of his life. That’s all a festive way of saying Jamie wants the junior deckhand fired. But Captain Jason isn’t quite so rash or emotional. So cooler heads prevail and he makes Jamie calm down while promising to get to the bottom of the drama.

Besides, Captain Jason already has more than enough staffing problems weighing on him. Chef Ryan McKeown‘s been on his best behavior since their clash in the galley. And the cocky chef seems to think he’s redeemed himself in a matter of days. But little does he know the captain’s still anxious to get him off the boat. And is actively on the lookout to replace him, if only COVID protocols made that decision simpler. Sorry Ryan, your days are numbered no matter how many wet eggs you serve up to Jason. Meanwhile, Aesha Scott is pleased to see that Magda Ziomek is actually showing signs of improvement. So that’s the one silver lining in the crew’s staffing issues.

Meanwhile, the weather has turned gloomy and it reflects the mood hanging over the boat. Jamie calls Benny to the main deck aft in an attempt to have one more conversation. Though he can’t even keep from gossiping to Brittini Burton before Benny’s even arrived. The bosun starts the talk by saying he now doesn’t want to meet with Captain Jason. Huh? What was the point of that temper tantrum, then? But when Benny starts trying to speak up for himself, it turns into yet another conflict between the two. Jamie feels like Benny is belligerent and doesn’t respect the authority he demands. And Benny feels Jamie picks on him, leads by intimidation and has his “foot on his neck,” metaphorically speaking. So now Captain Jason’s going to have to step in and mediate. So much for that attempt at peace…

The guests are stuck playing board games thanks to the rain, and Brittini once again runs the idea of their #vanlife road trip past Culver Bradbury. Except now things are getting uncomfortable since the entire crew is pushing them to hook up. And Brittini might be catching some feelings. Will these two make it to the end of the charter season with their friendship in tact? For now, Culver’s more concerned about putting on his Santa hat as the unofficial chief entertainment officer and helping Aesha out with the guests’ Christmas party.

Aesha and the rest of the crew start transforming the boat into some kind of winter wonderland. There are Christmas trees, Santa hats, and Magda even comes up with the idea of making fake snow out of…tampons? Ok, sure, whatever works! At least the third stew gets points from Aesha and Tumi Mhlongo for ingenuity. Chef Ryan‘s also cooking up a full Christmas dinner with roast turkey, glazed ham, mashed potatoes, candied carrots and more.

Before dinner though, Captain Jason calls Jamie and Benny into the wheelhouse along with Aesha to serve as a witness. Benny insists he’s doing his best at work. But Jason’s ears perk up when the deckhand throws out the word “intimidation.” If that’s what’s happening here, there’s a bigger problem. And for all of his big talk and bluster, Jamie’s relatively reserved in the actual meeting. In fact, he’s actually pretty polite to Benny in front of the captain. Instead of demanding Benny be fired, he pretty much agrees to keep working as usual while Captain Jason continues to investigate.

The guests are completely oblivious to any of the drama happening on board. They’re just ready to celebrate Christmas! And so is Culver, who dons a Santa suit complete with a beard and a pillow in the shirt to entertain the guests. He even convinces Aesha to play along as his red-nosed reindeer. Though the leather harness she uses as she paws on the ground reads…a little different from the Christmas cheer she’s going for. But hey, maybe it’ll increase the tip money?

Merriment aside, Captain Jason pulls Culver aside to get his take on the drama happening between Jamie and Benny. The self-appointed entertainment officer claims he’s never seen any evidence of the bosun intimidating Benny. But definitely chalks up the tension to their differing styles of communication and sees fault on both sides. Brittini essentially echoes the same thought in her own meeting with the captain, though she feels that Jamie is really the one in the wrong.

As a Christmas treat, Aesha lets Magda off for the day a half hour early. But only under the condition that she’ll go to sleep, not spend the thirty minutes talking to her boyfriend in Poland. And which of those things do you think Magda actually does? Yes, she spends the time arguing with her boyfriend over someone named Paulina. Aesha literally has to tell her to get off the phone and go to sleep once she gets to the cabin for the night.

The next morning, it’s time for the guests to leave. Christmas is over, folks! Chef Ryan serves a decent breakfast of smoked salmon and avocado toast. But Magda takes two steps backward and starts once again getting on Aesha‘s nerves. Everything else goes fairly smoothly though, and Captain Jason even keeps Benny on deck during docking instead of putting him behind in the tender. Maybe due to the crummy weather, the tip only amounts to $14,000. That’s a few hundred per person than they would’ve liked, but what can you do? Guess a reindeer in bondage leather can only get you so far.

Once the tip meeting ends, Brittini calls a meeting with Benny and Culver on the sun deck. Because, the whole season, they’ve never sat down and gelled into a single unit. She wants to create a safe space for Benny outside of Jamie‘s reach. And that starts with her confessing that Jamie changed shifts without telling Benny he wasn’t pulling his weight. The deckhand is blindsided by the underhanded slight. And it just gives him one more piece of ammunition against the bosun. However, it may be too late to save him. Because Captain Jason calls him to the wheelhouse to let him know he’s made a decision. And…we’ll have to find out what that decision is next week. To be continued!
