Meri Brown has been single for pretty much the last ten years. However, it wasn’t until recently that she dropped the dead weight that was her husband, Kody Brown. Even though Meri was the first official wife of the patriarch, the Sister Wives star was never treated with kindness or put on the golden pedestal like she had hoped to be. But a little less than a year after officially leaving Kody behind for the greener pastures of Utah, Meri has been struck by Cupid’s arrow. Find out about Meri Brown’s new boyfriend.
What Happened With Meri and Kody?
At the end of January 2023, Meri finally found her dignity and left Kody and his tantrums behind once and for all. The duo released a joint social media statement. “In light of a recent unapproved press release, we feel compelled to share our own truth, in our own way, and in our own timing. After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship.” There was more, but fans started to tune out because the breakup had been a long time coming.
The couple was legally married from 1990 to 2014 when Meri selflessly divorced her husband so he could marry his fourth and favorite wife, Robyn Brown. There had been red flags along the road, including an emotional affair and a catfishing scandal. The last few seasons of Sister Wives showed the couple growing apart. Kody clearly didn’t want to work at fixing it.
Meri Tried To Keep Her Marriage
Season 18 showed Meri actively trying to prove to Kody that she still loved him. Meri often stuck around as a third wheel, trying to prove that Kody could trust her again. She spent holidays with the family and often took Kody’s side. But no matter what she did, she was still considered an outcast. But after she noticed he was no longer wearing her ring, she knew the end was inevitable. Kody shared in a confessional that he didn’t consider Meri his wife, and wouldn’t be offended if she decided to move on with another man.

Now, Kody’s statement is being tested since Meri has found love again. The mother of one revealed to fans on her Instagram that she was dating a man named Amos. Meri shared that he was “the good-looking guy I’ve been dating since October!” I mean, someone had to fall in love with her filtered selfies in the end. In a weird brag, Meri gushed, “He’s not 6 foot 6, nor is he a pilot, but he loves Christmas almost as much as I do, and we laugh a lot together, both of which are important elements of a relationship!”
It seems Meri has “worthied up” sharing, “I’ve been keeping this kind of close to me as we’ve been enjoying the last few months of dating and getting to know each other. As I’ve considered when and how I wanted to share this fun news and share him with the world (jk, not really sharing, I’m keeping him to myself ?), I knew I wanted to celebrate my birthday in a special way and let you celebrate this with me!”
Meri Rings in 53
Meri announced this exciting news on her 53 birthday, and I’m willing to bet Kody couldn’t help but be miffed. She shared a photo of her and Amos smiling side by side. The two have been going on a few adventures, including hiking on a snowy mountain and walking Meri’s dog, Zona. It doesn’t look like Amos is a Mormon or a polygamist, so Meri is already picking a better partner.
Amos looks to be a nice dude, but so did Kody, so I’m not getting my hopes up just yet. However, if TLC were to jump on this news and start filming Season 19, I wouldn’t be opposed to watching her love journey in the new season in a few months. I hope Meri reveals more about her new relationship, but right now, I can only think about wanting a Famous Amos Cookie.
