Vanderpump Rules newbie Marcus Johnson has been front and center so far for Season 12. And unfortunately for him, it’s not for being on his best behavior. Marcus has been having trouble with his girlfriend, fellow SURver Kim Suarez. On top of that, his costar Venus Binkley accused him of having possible issues with drinking. However, Marcus has an explanation for his recent behavior.
Vanderpump Rules’ Venus accuses co-star Marcus of having a problem with drinking
We’re only on Episode 2 of the rebooted Pump Rules, and Marcus has come in hot. He’s been a server at SUR for several years now, and he’s in an on-again-off-again relationship with Kim. And Marcus isn’t a big fan of working. When he was tasked with teaching new hire Jason Cohen the ropes, he taught him where he could sneak sangria instead.
This led to him almost getting suspended by Lisa Vanderpump. Lisa stated in Season 12, Episode 2, “Marcus has been with us many years. But I don’t know whether to suspend him, fire him, or throttle him.” And Venus had strong words as well.
He told hostess Audrey Lingle that Marcus has a real problem. Venus dished, “At the end of the day, he has an actual issue with drinking. And he does it at work all the f*cking time, so this is a great time for him to be held accountable.”
Lisa also wondered why he had been drinking so much lately. Marcus shared that over the past few years he lost both of his parents. And dealing with their loss has been a struggle.
Lisa decided because Marcus was going through a hard time, he was not going to be suspended. She said, “I’m not going to suspend Marcus. When somebody’s struggling, you need to bolster them. You can’t take anything more away.”
Marcus appreciated the second chance, and he even admitted he needed to get some help. He stated, “I just feel like right now this job is all I have.”
Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. It can be streamed on Peacock the next day.
