Charles took away his younger brother’s title of Prince and evicted him from the Royal Lodge amid his connection to Jeffrey Epstein. It may feel to Andrew like his brother is shattering his world, but for some, he’s preventing it from being much worse. One Palace insider says Charles is “secretly protecting” his brother. By all accounts, it sounds like a slippery slope. On the outside, people say the King can’t appear like a pushover, but he also doesn’t want to turn his back on his brother.

King Charles may be doing more to help his brother than harm. That’s probably hard for Andrew to believe, but without his older brother, it sounds like he could be in a world of pain. “Charles feels he has a duty to keep Andrew within a kind of quiet safety net,” a source tells RadarOnline. Behind closed doors, Charles is said to be doing everything to prevent Andrew from “falling apart.”
Andrew’s scandals, including allegations of sexual activity with a minor, the late Virginia Giuffre, have US Congressional Democrats calling for him to testify in court. While he’s maintained his innocence, Andrew’s refused to do so. All the scrutiny around the former Prince seems to turn every choice into a “minefield,” according to sources.
Friends of Andrew say that he’s respecting Palace wishes to remain silent amid a storm of bad press. It seems, however, like he won’t be leaving his home until next year, a stance he’s holding firm on. When he does leave he’ll be staying at one of the King’s private estates in Sandringham.
While his two daughters remain welcome at the royal family, Andrew may face questioning by the British Parliament. The former Prince previously served as a Special Representative for International Trade and Investment.
